Chelsey Donn:

Trey Gerrald:

We've been getting some questions always about what

Trey Gerrald:

All of that.

Trey Gerrald:

What is so hopefully that

Chelsey Donn:

Hopefully that answers it.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

I mean, I, do you guys ever have that feeling when you just find a new TV show

Chelsey Donn:

It's called my claim to fame.

Chelsey Donn:

I've been watching it on Hulu.

Chelsey Donn:

It's hosted by Kevin Jonas and then the other one, the one that's not.

Chelsey Donn:

I think it's Kevin and, and then the Frankie, the one that's not in the group.

Chelsey Donn:

Are you there?

Chelsey Donn:

Are you alive?

Trey Gerrald:

I, I've never heard of, never heard of these Jonas people.

Chelsey Donn:

What?

Chelsey Donn:

The Jonas brothers?

Trey Gerrald:

Nick Jonas.

Trey Gerrald:

Right?

Trey Gerrald:

Joe Jonas.

Chelsey Donn:

and Kevin, isn't it.

Chelsey Donn:

Kevin

Trey Gerrald:

Kevin,

Chelsey Donn:

let's look up these Jonah

Trey Gerrald:

the Jonas brothers,

Chelsey Donn:

It's Kevin, isn't it.

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah, you're right.

Trey Gerrald:

I've literally never heard Kevin Jonas , but I recognize his face.

Chelsey Donn:

anyway, here's the deal.

Chelsey Donn:

So I, I start watching the show.

Chelsey Donn:

It's called your claim to fame, and it's all these people that are related to celebrities.

Chelsey Donn:

They give you like little hints here and there about who they are.

Chelsey Donn:

And then at the end of the week, you have to say, like, I think that Trey is related to.

Chelsey Donn:

I Donn know carrot top, cuz you look so much like him and, and and then if you're

Chelsey Donn:

Now I think what I've explained is that the show is very dumb and I

Chelsey Donn:

So I've been watching it because now I'm hooked and that's what happens when

Chelsey Donn:

And then the next thing you know, you're like fangirling over these

Chelsey Donn:

And so, so

Trey Gerrald:

that was spoiler.

Chelsey Donn:

spoiler.

Chelsey Donn:

That was just, I made that up because I didn't wanna spoil, but the point is, yeah,

Chelsey Donn:

And so I go to Hulu.

Chelsey Donn:

And I happened to catch it, like on the day that it came out and then I had to

Chelsey Donn:

Is there a new episode?

Chelsey Donn:

So I don't wanna be so pretentious as to think that people have that experience with our show.

Chelsey Donn:

However, I do love that feeling of being like, I have to wait another week for a show.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh, there's this like extra thing that I can see that can sort of get me through to the next week.

Chelsey Donn:

And if you're a true fan of the show, that's what I think Patreon is.

Chelsey Donn:

It's like, I like listening to these reviews while I go on my walk and

Chelsey Donn:

Well, like hop on Patreon, and then there you go.

Chelsey Donn:

We're, we're gonna join you for two walks instead of one, you know, it's exciting.

Trey Gerrald:

That's the connection piece.

Trey Gerrald:

I was like, why is she talking about your claim to fame and Kevin Jonas?

Chelsey Donn:

the long, it was the long way around.

Chelsey Donn:

But I think that, like, I'm just saying, like, I understand that feeling, you know?

Trey Gerrald:

of course.

Trey Gerrald:

Well, we all do now.

Trey Gerrald:

Cause we're so used to binging that we like the thought of having to wait,

Trey Gerrald:

stuff is torture.

Trey Gerrald:

Wait, okay, wait.

Trey Gerrald:

So Chelsey and I are recording right now and it, this is not a normal recording day.

Trey Gerrald:

It was spur the moment we're both doing it.

Trey Gerrald:

And the fact that Chelsey is here is actually no joking, pretty remarkable.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

This is like very intense and serious.

Trey Gerrald:

So I want you to walk us through what happened.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

So I've been pretty fortunate.

Chelsey Donn:

I did get the flu at the beginning of the year, but I've not gotten

Chelsey Donn:

Thank you.

Chelsey Donn:

But unfortunately the day before I was supposed to fly home for a trip back east and to do a

Chelsey Donn:

Even though I have two boosters, but you know, I have some immunocompromised stuff and I took

Chelsey Donn:

And I was feeling much better.

Chelsey Donn:

And then I was put on steroid.

Chelsey Donn:

And long story short, my like heart had a real reaction to the steroids.

Chelsey Donn:

It was beating very fast.

Chelsey Donn:

It was probably one of the scariest things I've ever experienced in my life.

Chelsey Donn:

I was sitting completely calm, watching a Netflix special on like Netflix and chilling,

Chelsey Donn:

And I had this horrible episode that left me in the hospital for like almost 14 hours.

Chelsey Donn:

And now I have to wear this heart monitor attached to my like body.

Chelsey Donn:

It's like two to three weeks and it's just a saga and it's scary.

Chelsey Donn:

And it just reminds us that life is so precious.

Chelsey Donn:

And I'm so lucky.

Chelsey Donn:

That's really what, what it all comes down to is that I was very scared and it ended up just

Chelsey Donn:

And I didn't have any blood clots and I'm very, very fortunate.

Chelsey Donn:

And, and the entire time that I was there.

Chelsey Donn:

You're so lucky.

Chelsey Donn:

You're so lucky.

Chelsey Donn:

You're so lucky, but because this is a show about complaining.

Chelsey Donn:

I just

Trey Gerrald:

balancing the scales.

VOICEOVER:

Lodge Complaint.

Chelsey Donn:

I just wanna say that, like I waited a really long time to get into the emergency room.

Chelsey Donn:

Like that was very, very stressful.

Chelsey Donn:

I had a very nice, it's never the nurse's fault.

Chelsey Donn:

We know it.

Chelsey Donn:

It's not the nurse's fault.

Chelsey Donn:

It's not the doctor's fault.

Chelsey Donn:

It's not their fault that like, it takes so long to get back there, but like still,

Chelsey Donn:

And, and also the other thing I just wanna complain about.

Chelsey Donn:

So I'm very happy about the, having the heart monitor, because I know that

Chelsey Donn:

But the tape that adheres to your skin with this monitor, it's, it's very itchy.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

It's very uncomfortable.

Chelsey Donn:

It, it, doesn't, it just like doesn't allow my body when I'm sleeping to like, be in

Chelsey Donn:

It's very annoying.

Chelsey Donn:

It's one of those things that I have to be aware of at all times that it's there.

Chelsey Donn:

I also like.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay guys, she doesn't follow the rules all the time.

Chelsey Donn:

They told me I couldn't shower with it on like for 24 hours, but I don't know

Chelsey Donn:

I showered, like I'm not gonna not shower, but like I put a Ziploc bag over it.

Chelsey Donn:

So I'm like negotiating with a Ziploc bag while trying to clean myself.

Chelsey Donn:

We all need to be grateful for the moments that we're healthy.

Chelsey Donn:

because this is a pain in the ass.

Chelsey Donn:

And I just wanna go back to normal.

Chelsey Donn:

God willing.

Chelsey Donn:

I wanna heal up.

Chelsey Donn:

I wanna be fine.

Chelsey Donn:

And this is a little scary to think that.

Chelsey Donn:

So many aspects of my health, like my blood pressure and my heart rate that

Chelsey Donn:

I know.

Chelsey Donn:

Cause I went to the doctor right before I got COVID are now like elevated and I don't know,

Chelsey Donn:

So if you guys have any advice for me, please like slide into the DMS.

Chelsey Donn:

Let me know how you lived with long COVID or if you had any of these symptoms, let me know.

Chelsey Donn:

Or if you've ever worn a heart monitor and you have an easy way to like shower and enjoy

Chelsey Donn:

Also

Trey Gerrald:

Oh,

Chelsey Donn:

me know.

Chelsey Donn:

So that was a very long winded Complaint and gratitude moment, but that's it.

Chelsey Donn:

That's where I am right now.

Trey Gerrald:

wow.

Trey Gerrald:

Well, I'm glad that you are sitting up and you're not in bed

Trey Gerrald:

and that you were

Chelsey Donn:

Yes.

Trey Gerrald:

to jump on and do a recording and.

Chelsey Donn:

I am sitting up for the first time in a while.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

I appreciate it.

Trey Gerrald:

I Donn know that the listeners do too.

Trey Gerrald:

Your commitment to

Chelsey Donn:

I have been missing you Trey and

Trey Gerrald:

know it's been so long.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm, I was like looking for an excuse to do this, and I'm just

Chelsey Donn:

And I can't wait to dive into some reviews, but first.

Chelsey Donn:

I gotta know if you have a Complaint, Trey.

Chelsey Donn:

I mean, I've been talking so much.

Chelsey Donn:

I haven't even heard about your week.

Trey Gerrald:

So I've had a good week.

Trey Gerrald:

I, we went away for my nephew's first birthday party in Charlotte and David

Chelsey Donn:

Oh, Ooh.

Trey Gerrald:

it said it was a four star hotel and

Trey Gerrald:

it

Chelsey Donn:

it was

Trey Gerrald:

gross.

Trey Gerrald:

No, it was really gross.

Trey Gerrald:

Also.

Trey Gerrald:

This is not the Complaint, but it was a king size bed.

Trey Gerrald:

And they had like the little, like, you know, those pee guards like to cover the mattress

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah, like a wa like a mattress protector.

Trey Gerrald:

Yes.

Trey Gerrald:

It was a Queen size mattress protector.

Trey Gerrald:

So it just kept scrunching off of the bed, which

Chelsey Donn:

it was a Queen sized mattress on, on a king bed.

Trey Gerrald:

Yes, it was very clearly the wrong

Chelsey Donn:

It was the wrong size.

Trey Gerrald:

It was so tiny.

Trey Gerrald:

Like you would sit on the bed and then all four corners

Chelsey Donn:

Oh, my God.

Chelsey Donn:

That

Trey Gerrald:

that's

Trey Gerrald:

a slight exaggeration, but it was so annoying cuz I don't.

Chelsey Donn:

annoying.

Trey Gerrald:

I don't like touching a hotel betting to

Chelsey Donn:

No, Ugh.

Trey Gerrald:

anyway, that anyway, it was a good week.

Trey Gerrald:

My actual Complaint.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

I am all, actually, I am a person that if there is a self checkout, I'm gonna run to it.

Trey Gerrald:

But my Complaint is the sensitivity of the scale on these self checkouts.

Trey Gerrald:

CVS is a huge culprit of this.

Trey Gerrald:

You'll go, you'll swipe it.

Trey Gerrald:

And then you have to put it in the bagging area because there's a scale under it.

Trey Gerrald:

And that's how they determine if you're a thief or

Chelsey Donn:

right, right.

Trey Gerrald:

sensitive that it'll be like, please place item in the bagging area.

Trey Gerrald:

and like a siren will go off and the cop light on top goes off.

Trey Gerrald:

And then like, if it happens two or three times in a row, then like it freezes the screen and

Trey Gerrald:

And then some person who's working there that doesn't want to come over to, you has to.

Trey Gerrald:

Come over type in a code, swipe their little card.

Trey Gerrald:

And it's like, the item is right here.

Trey Gerrald:

I, I like I, or it's like too large to fit in the tiny minuscule CVS bags

Chelsey Donn:

Or even in the bagging area, what do I do with the other stuff I have to, like,

Trey Gerrald:

Well, that's what happens.

Trey Gerrald:

It's like, if you buy a like 18 roll of toilet paper, you can't fit it on the.

Chelsey Donn:

right.

Trey Gerrald:

That's just like a random occurrence that really bothers me.

Trey Gerrald:

And it really does.

Trey Gerrald:

Speaking of heart rate, it makes me palpitate at a much higher frequency

Trey Gerrald:

just buying candy.

Trey Gerrald:

You know, it makes me so angry.

Trey Gerrald:

And so I was like, oh, this is like a common day Complaint that I'm

Chelsey Donn:

I think that the best thing that you just said in terms of like recapping

Chelsey Donn:

That they have to go over and help you.

Chelsey Donn:

Meanwhile, I have never had a self-check experience that didn't require like at least

Chelsey Donn:

And yet that person always seems like, all right, well here I gotta go do my job, I guess.

Chelsey Donn:

Like, it's so weird.

Trey Gerrald:

They're never at the ready

Trey Gerrald:

or like eager or on it?

Trey Gerrald:

No,

Chelsey Donn:

like with the regularity that it happens, you would think that

Chelsey Donn:

Like they're like, they're waiting, they're waiting to, to run.

Trey Gerrald:

are my favorite to watch cuz they literally like in a split second will be like,

Chelsey Donn:

Exactly.

Trey Gerrald:

intense.

Chelsey Donn:

I know.

Chelsey Donn:

But I think that, I think people with this job should like have that, like that kind of intensity

Trey Gerrald:

That's probably the problem.

Chelsey Donn:

Right.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm sure that's a huge factor in this, but assuming that we're paying them appropriately,

Trey Gerrald:

That should

Chelsey Donn:

to do those jobs.

Trey Gerrald:

I think that that should be part of the,

Chelsey Donn:

Yes.

Chelsey Donn:

Have you been a ball boy and or girl

Trey Gerrald:

or girl or they,

Trey Gerrald:

or them above them.

Chelsey Donn:

or a ball?

Chelsey Donn:

A ball them.

Trey Gerrald:

Uh, okay.

Trey Gerrald:

So that's all of that.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

So

Trey Gerrald:

yes, as you were segueing beautifully before, why didn't we jump into some online reviews chills

Chelsey Donn:

I think we should do it.

Chelsey Donn:

I've missed it.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm ready.

Chelsey Donn:

Let's go.

Trey Gerrald:

here?

Trey Gerrald:

We.

VOICEOVER:

Review That Review.

Chelsey Donn:

As you know, we are your trustee review Queens.

Chelsey Donn:

We bring in reviews from the internet that we feel need to be inspect.

Trey Gerrald:

We read you a review, break it down and rate the impact of the review

Trey Gerrald:

It's a very Regal process that we call.

VOICEOVER:

Assess that Kvetch.

Chelsey Donn:

That's right.

Chelsey Donn:

Very vehicle.

Chelsey Donn:

And so with that in mind, Trey, what have you brought in for us today?

Trey Gerrald:

All right.

Trey Gerrald:

So I'm finally doing it.

Trey Gerrald:

If I could tell you, I'm gonna try to underestimate, I think that I have literally

Trey Gerrald:

This is an underestimation probably four times.

Trey Gerrald:

And at the last minute I have changed and I did it two weeks ago.

Trey Gerrald:

The last time I did a review and here we are, where I'm officially doing it.

Trey Gerrald:

This actually was submitted by a listener back in like when we were in like the tens or twenties.

Trey Gerrald:

So.

Trey Gerrald:

We're almo.

Trey Gerrald:

I mean, now it's literally been a full year at this point, so apologies.

Trey Gerrald:

But today this is a new source.

Trey Gerrald:

This is from a website called influencer stir.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh,

Trey Gerrald:

So not an influencer, it's an influencer influencer.

Chelsey Donn:

like the straw that serves the drink.

Trey Gerrald:

So this is a review written by someone named Amber F

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

four.

Trey Gerrald:

Loom deodorant for underarms and private parts.

Trey Gerrald:

22 ounce propel.

Trey Gerrald:

Jasmine rose.

Chelsey Donn:

This is interesting.

Chelsey Donn:

I, I think it might be LUME

Trey Gerrald:

Is it LUME okay.

Trey Gerrald:

Cuz this

Chelsey Donn:

I'm not a hundred percent sure though.

Chelsey Donn:

I,

Trey Gerrald:

I'm gonna have, I'm gonna have a few, um, pronunciation issues.

Trey Gerrald:

So should I just say LUME that probably sounds better than Lum.

Chelsey Donn:

I can be wrong.

Trey Gerrald:

We'll just say LUME for today.

Chelsey Donn:

Should we, oh, wait here.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh, loo if this is saying loom, so you might be right, maybe we all just say it wrong.

Trey Gerrald:

All right.

Trey Gerrald:

So everyone listening, loom LUME whatever, you know, don't attack

Chelsey Donn:

don't attack us.

Trey Gerrald:

So this is, this is Amber F's One-Star-Zinger review on influencer.com.

Trey Gerrald:

It's important to note here that Amber F has a little ribbon icon.

Trey Gerrald:

next to it that says beauty, junky expert level eight.

Chelsey Donn:

Interesting.

Trey Gerrald:

I don't know if that's good or bad.

Chelsey Donn:

so I think that that's good.

Chelsey Donn:

I think that, I think it means

Trey Gerrald:

It's higher than seven other levels.

Chelsey Donn:

I don't know much about influencer, but I think that the idea with this whole ranking

Chelsey Donn:

Like I should listen to you more.

Chelsey Donn:

So if you have eight,

Trey Gerrald:

So you've heard of influencer.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

I feel like, like in the zeitgeist.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

All right.

Trey Gerrald:

So yeah, here we go.

Trey Gerrald:

This is Amber F's One-Star-Zinger influencer review for loom deodorant.

Trey Gerrald:

I keep seeing loom ad videos on YouTube and the woman who created it talks about how

Trey Gerrald:

She changed everything about deodorant end and acts as if she is the first.

Trey Gerrald:

Who has done this it's faults because apparently she never met the creators of Lavalin cream

Trey Gerrald:

She probably should have done more research before making that.

Trey Gerrald:

used Lavalin for years because it's a cream and a jar parentheses.

Trey Gerrald:

They also have roll on and you simply put it on and you can literally

Trey Gerrald:

Or even if life has gotten hectic slash busy, you're a single mom that has a

Trey Gerrald:

It works that well, kept mine on for 72 hours and not reapplied it.

Trey Gerrald:

And it does what loom claims to do.

Trey Gerrald:

It's cheaper of course, but it has no scent.

Trey Gerrald:

You can buy the foot cream or they have a deodorant cream parenthesis.

Trey Gerrald:

You truly can use either for any part of your body in parentheses.

Trey Gerrald:

And you put a small amount on and forget it.

Trey Gerrald:

They've been doing this for a long.

Trey Gerrald:

And it just feels like a rip off every time I see these loom videos claiming

Trey Gerrald:

That's great for her that she created a product and it would be fine if she were to create

Trey Gerrald:

She could literally be sued for that because her product is identical to lave in

Trey Gerrald:

You can use it on private parts, but you definitely can with it being that great

Trey Gerrald:

I just hate when new companies try to take credit for something that they didn't truly

Trey Gerrald:

That's not okay.

Trey Gerrald:

It's shady.

Trey Gerrald:

That was such a turnoff in the ads to hear her brag and take credit for something that

Trey Gerrald:

Please check out Lavalin instead as they are the OG and deserve the credit that

Trey Gerrald:

I Donn don't usually leave bad reviews, but I hate when companies steal from

Chelsey Donn:

Wow.

Chelsey Donn:

Uh, lava land F I mean, Amber F I mean,

Trey Gerrald:

ideas Lavalin

Chelsey Donn:

F just kidding.

Chelsey Donn:

Amber

Trey Gerrald:

have you ever heard of Lavalin?

Chelsey Donn:

I remember, like years ago there was a product that sounds

Chelsey Donn:

And I'm wondering if that was the Lavalin one.

Trey Gerrald:

I Donn know

Chelsey Donn:

I do know that the whole sh well, first of all, I Donn, I don't know where

Chelsey Donn:

And that's why.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

And that's why they say like, you can specifically use it on private parts and

Chelsey Donn:

So I know that they do kind of say like, we're the first one, but I think that their

Chelsey Donn:

Like you can really use it everywhere.

Chelsey Donn:

And that's how they're marketing.

Chelsey Donn:

It's not just like, oh, this is an aluminum free deodorant that lasts a long time now.

Trey Gerrald:

I just heard, as you said, that loom like a loom and, um, Because it's aluminum free.

Trey Gerrald:

So maybe that's why it's loom.

Trey Gerrald:

I don't know.

Trey Gerrald:

Keep going.

Chelsey Donn:

well, okay.

Chelsey Donn:

So I I've heard of influencer, I think, but I just wanna be clear.

Chelsey Donn:

So is this a site where we're truly going to review products?

Trey Gerrald:

it is.

Trey Gerrald:

And it is for loom deodorant, which has 130 reviews and the average is four stars.

Chelsey Donn:

okay.

Chelsey Donn:

So what the hell is this review doing here?

Chelsey Donn:

I mean, it's just clearly an ad as annoying as you Amber find the ads for loom.

Chelsey Donn:

I find it annoying that you're giving me an ad for another product on the looms page.

Chelsey Donn:

Couldn't you have just, first of all.

Chelsey Donn:

I don't even believe based on this review that Amber actually even tried the product.

Chelsey Donn:

It's almost like she's reviewing the ads.

Trey Gerrald:

so very interesting point because nowhere in the review does Amber

Chelsey Donn:

Of course it is.

Trey Gerrald:

So it's totally an ad.

Chelsey Donn:

get the heck.

Chelsey Donn:

out Amber, like, it's just, it's one thing to mention a product, which is automatically

Chelsey Donn:

We know this, but this review is a full blown ad for this other product.

Chelsey Donn:

How is that appropriate?

Trey Gerrald:

it does feel to me like Amber is a salesperson for Lavalin.

Trey Gerrald:

That's why they're so offended, right?

Trey Gerrald:

Like they're in like Avon or something or they're in some MLM that's like

Chelsey Donn:

And when they were like, I don't usually write negative reviews.

Chelsey Donn:

I was like that wasn't even a negative review.

Trey Gerrald:

Right.

Trey Gerrald:

You're not even reviewing the

Chelsey Donn:

not reviewing

Trey Gerrald:

You're just saying they made a false claim.

Chelsey Donn:

reviewing their ad.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm reviewing your ad.

Chelsey Donn:

And I Donn don't like it.

Trey Gerrald:

but if you're correct, that loom was created by a gynecologist,

Trey Gerrald:

Are we just supposed to believe random Amber F who is a junkie expert level eight,

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

I thought that was so weird too.

Chelsey Donn:

of all, I thought we were like at a certain point.

Chelsey Donn:

I got really confused because I, when we were getting into all of the details of using

Chelsey Donn:

And I was like, oh, we're still on the Lavalin like, you know, like, I, I was

Chelsey Donn:

Like which product are we talking about?

Chelsey Donn:

Because I'm not on the Lavalin page, I'm on the loom page.

Chelsey Donn:

And I agree, like, just because you said it's okay to use on your privates doesn't mean.

Chelsey Donn:

Looms not allowed to say we're the first deodorant made by an OB GYN

Chelsey Donn:

Like that is the claim,

Trey Gerrald:

Well, it's also ensuring to me that Amber comes in hot at the top here saying

Trey Gerrald:

It's a cream and a jar parenthesis.

Trey Gerrald:

They also have it on a roll on like, it's like, wait, why are you, why are you screaming?

Trey Gerrald:

Because we don't even know where you're coming.

Trey Gerrald:

Like, what are

Chelsey Donn:

What are you talking about?

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

LUME is the first deodorant safe to use anywhere under your breast skin, fold

Trey Gerrald:

oh,

Chelsey Donn:

So that's like what they're saying, but like

Trey Gerrald:

tagline.

Chelsey Donn:

on the website itself, it breaks down.

Chelsey Donn:

Like these are what people like douches, like this is why like, douches

Chelsey Donn:

This is why vaginal gels are good or bad.

Chelsey Donn:

Like, it is not just like, oh, it doesn't have aluminum in it.

Chelsey Donn:

So you can use it there.

Chelsey Donn:

I think that the idea behind the cell and every single ad that I've had is

Chelsey Donn:

That's not just like, uh, it would probably be okay, cuz it doesn't have aluminum to use there.

Chelsey Donn:

We're creating a product that is specifically for that need and is created by a doctor.

Chelsey Donn:

There's so many Juin that don't have aluminum.

Chelsey Donn:

Now I Donn don't think that that's what Lumin is saying.

Chelsey Donn:

The issue is that they're saying that they're the first.

Trey Gerrald:

but.

Chelsey Donn:

they kind of are, cuz I Donn, I, I can't think of any other deodorant that

Trey Gerrald:

Now that I'm hearing that I am sort of like, oh, maybe

Trey Gerrald:

Cause I, I don't wanna like roll the thing, like on my private area, but regardless who cares.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

It comes in a cream too.

Trey Gerrald:

Interesting.

Trey Gerrald:

It is that unscented because this one that we're, that Amber has left a

Chelsey Donn:

They have ones, I think that are unscented, but yeah,

Chelsey Donn:

They sell it as a bundle.

Trey Gerrald:

I mean, I personally don't necessarily like a lot of

Trey Gerrald:

Like it, it makes me think of like acts it's like every teenage boy has act.

Chelsey Donn:

I guess I, but I like the natural deodorant sense cuz they

Chelsey Donn:

Like I, I doubt I do have a friend that uses loom and she's been like

Chelsey Donn:

She's like, I love it.

Trey Gerrald:

Oh, wow.

Trey Gerrald:

They should call in.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah, they should.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm looking now and they do have it unscented.

Chelsey Donn:

So like, usually with these natural varieties, they're doing a sense for people like me who

Chelsey Donn:

And then other people who are like, I just don't want any sense.

Chelsey Donn:

So they are accommodating everyone.

Chelsey Donn:

And you know what the reality is that we didn't get any of that information

Trey Gerrald:

No, not at all.

Chelsey Donn:

ER, you.

Chelsey Donn:

Like Amber F gets an F and like, we're not even at the crowning, but she's getting

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah, it's really confusing to me to like go over and leave a review about something

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah, or just say, like, I don't support this product cuz I don't like the false

Chelsey Donn:

This is a product that I use.

Chelsey Donn:

If you wanna hear more about that product, cook this link to my review of blah, blah, blah.

Chelsey Donn:

It would still be bad, but like you're wasting so much of our time making us.

Chelsey Donn:

All of these, like, that's, this is confusion to me.

Chelsey Donn:

My sister's an intellectual property attorney and this is borderline intellectual

Chelsey Donn:

I mean, they have the same first letter.

Chelsey Donn:

Like I, I can see a world in which someone could be reading this review and like, think that

Trey Gerrald:

Well, part of that, I do think the confusion is from like the

Trey Gerrald:

Like they do bleed into the other.

Trey Gerrald:

It was hard to sort of read it out loud because I feel like the train of thought jumps around.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah,

Trey Gerrald:

But okay.

Trey Gerrald:

Ultimately, is this valuable

Chelsey Donn:

no,

Trey Gerrald:

for some reason, it makes me not like Lavalin because Amber's

Chelsey Donn:

That's an interesting point, Trey, cuz it's like we're accusing loom

Chelsey Donn:

And yet this is a really bad misrepresentation of Lavalin too.

Chelsey Donn:

Like I don't know that Lavalin would be thrilled to know that this person

Chelsey Donn:

Amber F is lava land, which I'm not willing to let complete go of.

Chelsey Donn:

I, I do think that there's a large possibility here that we have some undercover bossing

Trey Gerrald:

I mean, we clearly think this is shady.

Trey Gerrald:

Do what did you think of what I, I think might have been an attempted humor when Amber is

Trey Gerrald:

Well, I come on, I feel like they were like trying to be a little Winky, but at that

Chelsey Donn:

You know what I will say that the only, that was the one Mo cuz I was hating

Chelsey Donn:

And then when we got to that part, I actually thought.

Chelsey Donn:

Maybe I should be a little nicer to Amber F she's got a lot of kids around.

Chelsey Donn:

Maybe Amber F is not dealing with like a fully present mind when she's writing this review.

Chelsey Donn:

That is the only thing I'm willing to sort of give Amber F a little bit of a pass

Chelsey Donn:

I'm just trying to have a moment to scroll on Instagram and enjoy myself.

Chelsey Donn:

And I'm spammed by this ad.

Chelsey Donn:

And this is the time where it would just take me over the edge and I gotta do something about

Chelsey Donn:

And maybe, maybe that was what happened, but short of that,

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah, it is so weird that the image they attach to this review

Trey Gerrald:

Just, I mean, it's possible, like we've only really harped on how shady that is,

Trey Gerrald:

I want everyone to see this and be like, oh, what's this image.

Trey Gerrald:

Maybe it's coming from a positive place, but it just really does not read that way because Amber

Chelsey Donn:

E exactly like, and everything is a reinvention.

Chelsey Donn:

And if you cannot find a way to stand out in the crowd, I do believe that that is your fault.

Chelsey Donn:

I have no problem with this company, touting that they are the first deodorant that is intended,

Trey Gerrald:

Well, that's funny if.

Trey Gerrald:

If that really is the message that's intended in this ad.

Trey Gerrald:

And Amber has seen this ad so many times and keeps missing that one little key piece, or

Trey Gerrald:

So now they're so angry that this other one's claiming that because it's

Trey Gerrald:

You know, it's just all of this Misha where it's like, we're just talking

Chelsey Donn:

Right.

Chelsey Donn:

right.

Trey Gerrald:

Do you think there's any impact for you moving forward?

Trey Gerrald:

If you read this

Chelsey Donn:

You know, a little bit of sadness for Lavalin for Lavalin,

Chelsey Donn:

And I don't really think that that's fair.

Chelsey Donn:

And I do feel bad that like, I'm not even giving it the time of day to listen

Trey Gerrald:

Finally, I do wanna share.

Trey Gerrald:

I looked up Amber F and as of today's recording, they have 468 reviews on influencer.

Trey Gerrald:

And today there have been an additional 16 reviews for loom.

Trey Gerrald:

So it's now 146 reviews.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

Not, not 16 more from Amber, just 16 more.

Trey Gerrald:

no, no.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

And it's still rated at four stars.

Chelsey Donn:

I Donn know that's a little shady to me, Trey.

Chelsey Donn:

I Donn like, again, it's very hard with these elite reviewers or these repeat reviewers

Chelsey Donn:

To go on and write these reviews.

Chelsey Donn:

And that's why they have so many reviews or is this truly just somebody that like

Chelsey Donn:

Oftentimes depending on the style of the writer, especially with the Yelp elites, I can tell

Chelsey Donn:

They wanna be in it.

Chelsey Donn:

They like it with.

Chelsey Donn:

Review and Amber F I am very suspicious.

Chelsey Donn:

I don't know if Amber F was paid by lava land, if like, I'd be almost curious to take a

Trey Gerrald:

Well, that's

Chelsey Donn:

we

Trey Gerrald:

I'm literally doing right now.

Chelsey Donn:

Are we pimping other products?

Trey Gerrald:

So I don't know anything about influencer except for today.

Trey Gerrald:

And I see that maybe the first, most recent 20 have a little box LogoVora that says

Trey Gerrald:

So influencer her as sending these repeated reviewers samples to write reviews.

Trey Gerrald:

That is not the case for loom.

Trey Gerrald:

But Amber is that vocal and active in this community that they are now getting samples

Chelsey Donn:

So they're being paid in samples for the reviews,

Trey Gerrald:

but that wasn't the case for loom.

Trey Gerrald:

And Amber was that angry.

Trey Gerrald:

I wonder if maybe Amber got a Lavalin sample,

Chelsey Donn:

right?

Chelsey Donn:

Maybe

Trey Gerrald:

but they say they've been using it for years.

Chelsey Donn:

does it, yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

Has Amber written a review on Lavalin?

Chelsey Donn:

Probably.

Trey Gerrald:

Oh, I would imagine.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

I mean that doesn't really like create or negate anything for me, the fact that

Chelsey Donn:

It just feels like Amber F might be a snake in the grass and she might

Trey Gerrald:

here's another one.

Trey Gerrald:

Amber reviewed Hines, Buffalo, ranch, Buffalo and ranch sauce gave it four stars.

Trey Gerrald:

And it says at the bottom in bold incentivized review, what is influencer?

Trey Gerrald:

I gotta get on here and start making money.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah, we gotta get on there.

Chelsey Donn:

Try

Trey Gerrald:

So maybe if I, maybe I could do deeper digging, maybe they were incentivized

Chelsey Donn:

that's hearsay.

Chelsey Donn:

They could just have been incentivized in the sense that like they bought the product and

Chelsey Donn:

I Donn.

Chelsey Donn:

Something seems shady.

Chelsey Donn:

Something definitely seems shady here.

Trey Gerrald:

Oh, they have one for a menstrual cup.

Trey Gerrald:

All right.

Trey Gerrald:

There, maybe there's fertile ground here with, uh, Amber.

Trey Gerrald:

Maybe they'll be back on the

Trey Gerrald:

show.

Trey Gerrald:

Anyhow.

Trey Gerrald:

How are you feeling with this loom review?

Trey Gerrald:

Do you think you could rate

Chelsey Donn:

I'm feeling very ready to crown.

Chelsey Donn:

I mean, I feel like I'm like not how many cent centimeters I'm crowning.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm dial I'm fully dilated.

Trey Gerrald:

she's crowning.

Trey Gerrald:

All right, here we go.

Chelsey Donn:

crown.

Trey Gerrald:

So Chelsey and I each have our own set of zero to five crown cards in an effort

Trey Gerrald:

We will simultaneously reveal our rating.

VOICEOVER:

The Queens are Tabulating.

VOICEOVER:

So.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

I had a feeling you were gonna do that.

Chelsey Donn:

So I'm holding up zero crowns.

Chelsey Donn:

Trey is holding up a half crown.

Chelsey Donn:

If I could, I would give zero crowns and I can.

Chelsey Donn:

So I'm going to,

Trey Gerrald:

amen.

Chelsey Donn:

is zero crowns for you.

Chelsey Donn:

I just don't see the value.

Chelsey Donn:

I cannot give any kind of points to a review that I feel like is distracting is taking.

Chelsey Donn:

Off of the course with my goal of trying to decide whether or not I should buy this product.

Chelsey Donn:

The fact that the company may or may not be making first claims for getting their first

Chelsey Donn:

That's what I wanna know.

Chelsey Donn:

I didn't get any of that from Amber F I got a whole bunch of Misha that I did not sign up for.

Chelsey Donn:

Sorry, Amber, I don't trust you.

Chelsey Donn:

Zero crowns.

Chelsey Donn:

Why a half crown Trey

Trey Gerrald:

because, okay.

Trey Gerrald:

There's a few parts to this.

Trey Gerrald:

I do think that as much as I wanna say, there's no value here.

Trey Gerrald:

This is no impact.

Trey Gerrald:

I can't, it's not trustworthy.

Trey Gerrald:

I do think there is a little bit of a lasting impression on me because as I continue to

Trey Gerrald:

Untrustworthy is Lavalin a better product.

Trey Gerrald:

Should I now go down a Lavalin rabbit hole and see if that's,

Trey Gerrald:

you know, like, I

Chelsey Donn:

worried about you.

Chelsey Donn:

Trey you're too easily influenced.

Trey Gerrald:

possible.

Trey Gerrald:

I also just, I did a half crown also because I don't wanna be completely slanderous here

Trey Gerrald:

That if a review is incentivized, that means it's dishonest.

Trey Gerrald:

Cuz I think that people can be paid for opinions and give a negative opinion.

Trey Gerrald:

So I just wanna

Chelsey Donn:

I just don't.

Trey Gerrald:

in the atmosphere.

Chelsey Donn:

I give you your right to, to honor your half crown, but I'm just gonna say I don't.

Chelsey Donn:

See the, like, what is the value of this review?

Chelsey Donn:

The only thing they're slandering about is the fact that they're saying they got there first.

Chelsey Donn:

They're not saying that the product is good or bad.

Chelsey Donn:

They, they don't even have the product.

Chelsey Donn:

They're just slandering the ads.

Trey Gerrald:

I think it's unclassy and, and poor taste to.

Trey Gerrald:

Maybe you could like offer another suggestion of a product, which we don't really like on the show.

Trey Gerrald:

This one is blatantly going the other way.

Chelsey Donn:

blatant.

Trey Gerrald:

But as someone who didn't know how to say influenced her into

Trey Gerrald:

I, I have never heard of Lavalin.

Trey Gerrald:

If I am like, I would like to be more conscious of what I rub on my body.

Trey Gerrald:

I want to try aluminum free deodorant.

Trey Gerrald:

At least Amber F has told me of another competitor that has maybe been in the game longer.

Trey Gerrald:

And now at the end of this review, the only impact is now I know of another brand.

Trey Gerrald:

If I want to do more research on my own, I do think it is in, in very poor taste.

Trey Gerrald:

Amber doesn't even have the product get outta here.

Trey Gerrald:

Don't give

Chelsey Donn:

Get outta here.

Trey Gerrald:

but now I know of another product.

Trey Gerrald:

So that's why I said

Chelsey Donn:

All right.

Chelsey Donn:

Fair enough.

Chelsey Donn:

All right.

Chelsey Donn:

Half crown for knowledge, I get

Trey Gerrald:

indeed fiery review.

Trey Gerrald:

Huh?

Chelsey Donn:

what?

Chelsey Donn:

That really got me going that I hope my heart monitor's gonna be okay.

Chelsey Donn:

My doctor are gonna be like, what happened during

Trey Gerrald:

funny.

Trey Gerrald:

Cuz as we were going through it, I really was like, oh, I can see how this was submitted.

Trey Gerrald:

Early in the show because we have, it really highlights things

Trey Gerrald:

So it's funny

Chelsey Donn:

Oh yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

a year ago cuz it covers

Chelsey Donn:

we're like, you advertised another product in this review.

Chelsey Donn:

You're outta

Trey Gerrald:

repeating yourself so much.

Trey Gerrald:

This has nothing to do.

Trey Gerrald:

You didn't even buy the, you know, it's like all of those hot button

Chelsey Donn:

And it still makes us angry and these reviews are out there.

Chelsey Donn:

They are out there.

Chelsey Donn:

Thank you to mystery listener

Trey Gerrald:

Thank you.

Chelsey Donn:

for submitting this fun review that I had a good time breaking down with Trey.

Chelsey Donn:

And now Trey, that we've, you know, kind of been a little, I don't know, I'll say I've been a

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah, let's shift the energy.

Trey Gerrald:

Hopefully your heart rate is healthy.

Trey Gerrald:

Amber F doesn't have any power over us.

Chelsey Donn:

that's right.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm gonna Palo Santo her away.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm gonna get the good energy here by Amber F.

Trey Gerrald:

Well now in this cleansing breath, why Donn don't we switch extremes here?

Trey Gerrald:

Chelsey.

Trey Gerrald:

We have reached the most Regal portion of our show.

Trey Gerrald:

Who are you inducting today

VOICEOVER:

My Royal line.

Chelsey Donn:

Well, Trey, thank you for asking.

Chelsey Donn:

And it is a very exciting day today because today I have decided I'm gonna step outta the spotlight.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm gonna give the stage to one of our listener Queens, because we've got,

VOICEOVER:

Listener voicemail.

Chelsey Donn:

yeah, we do.

Chelsey Donn:

We did it.

Chelsey Donn:

So let's take a listen and, and let somebody else induct someone.

VOICEOVER:

Hi, um, my name's Aaron and I just wanted to nominate for the

VOICEOVER:

Um, it's a crafting store and.

VOICEOVER:

Yeah, I'm obsessed with these coupons.

VOICEOVER:

Typically you can get a 40% off coupons, often a 50% and rarely but possible, a 60% off coupon.

VOICEOVER:

And what's amazing about them is they let you do two transactions at one register with one coupon.

VOICEOVER:

So that means you can get two items.

VOICEOVER:

And I guess the intent is that you buy other things at regular prices, but I never do.

VOICEOVER:

So I just keep going in and you can also leave and then come back, you know, later,

VOICEOVER:

The caveat is that you can't use those coupons on already discounted sale products

VOICEOVER:

So that's kind of a thing, but you can always get a 20% off your entire purchase

VOICEOVER:

And I know this sounds like I work for them, but I don't.

VOICEOVER:

I'm just obsessed.

VOICEOVER:

And so you just do this multiple times, which I do.

VOICEOVER:

And I have a million emails where I'm constantly getting coupons from JoAnn.

VOICEOVER:

And then that applies to actually the discounted and clearance items.

VOICEOVER:

So then if a product is already listed on sale for 40% off, if you apply

VOICEOVER:

Um, but you just have to be careful because Joan.

VOICEOVER:

Regular prices are actually generally higher than other places like Michael's for instance.

VOICEOVER:

So I avoid trying to ever buy things, uh, from JoAnn's without a.

VOICEOVER:

That said some Michaels actually take competitor coupons, which makes JoAnn's coupons.

VOICEOVER:

That Michael's even more powerful because their prices are already lower.

VOICEOVER:

But the Michaels near me stopped accepting JoAnn's coupons.

VOICEOVER:

And I think it was because one time I went in five times in a day to get like paint fall for 50% off.

VOICEOVER:

And I just kept changing my clothes in my hat.

VOICEOVER:

So anyway, I guess that's a negative thing on Michael's, but a positive thing

VOICEOVER:

Are incredible.

VOICEOVER:

So, you know, if you want crafting stuff or I Donn know they have like, uh, seasonal decor, whatever.

VOICEOVER:

Again, I do not work for JoAnn's.

VOICEOVER:

I'm just obsessed with coupons, but.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh, my God.

Chelsey Donn:

That was amazing

Trey Gerrald:

wait, wait, wait, wait, wait.

Trey Gerrald:

Well, wait, well, wait, well wait, wait,

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

Aaron.

Chelsey Donn:

Yes.

Trey Gerrald:

I used to work at JoAnn.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

don't know who this Aaron is.

Trey Gerrald:

It's a listener voicemail.

Trey Gerrald:

I

Chelsey Donn:

Did you have people that abuse the coupons to the level that Erin does?

Trey Gerrald:

I'm simultaneously angry that I never thought of this,

Trey Gerrald:

Tyra.

Trey Gerrald:

I don't know who you are, Aaron, but I want you to friend me on Instagram.

Trey Gerrald:

Cause I think you're hilarious based on that monologue.

Trey Gerrald:

The thing about Joan.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

There's several things I have to break down here.

Trey Gerrald:

Yes.

Trey Gerrald:

Never go to a JoAnn without the coupons.

Trey Gerrald:

If you're really serious about it, you must get their app because the coupons change every week.

Trey Gerrald:

But yes, you can never use coupons on items that are discounted or on sale.

Trey Gerrald:

So they have to be regularly priced.

Chelsey Donn:

I just don't.

Chelsey Donn:

I mean, I don't know that I'm that good at the coupon game to be able to pull this

Trey Gerrald:

Erin is an extreme

Chelsey Donn:

I mean, he should be on that

Trey Gerrald:

Wait, but Aaron, I wanna tell you.

Trey Gerrald:

JoAnn will accept competitor coupons.

Trey Gerrald:

You were talking about how Michael's may be stopped, but you can ask the person that's

Trey Gerrald:

You have to show.

Trey Gerrald:

You can also get the price matched that happens all the

Chelsey Donn:

You know what?

Chelsey Donn:

I bet Aaron didn't realize when he called and gave us all that information, that he would be

Trey Gerrald:

I never disclosed on the, on the show that I worked at, JoAnn, I,

Trey Gerrald:

It was really sad.

Trey Gerrald:

I did tear up when I gave my notice because I loved working at the

Trey Gerrald:

And I feel like my heart is warmed by Erin's

Chelsey Donn:

I just wanna know what Aaron's doing with all the crafts and the paint,

Trey Gerrald:

I thought it was

Trey Gerrald:

funny.

Trey Gerrald:

That Aaron talked about going to Michael's and decoy hats and different shirts.

Trey Gerrald:

Like all of those things you could purchase at a craft store,

Chelsey Donn:

yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh, true.

Trey Gerrald:

truly, but truly working at JoAnn did teach me, never go to buy by baby, never go

Trey Gerrald:

And yes, by joining their mailing list.

Chelsey Donn:

This really does sound like an ad for JoAnn.

Trey Gerrald:

thrive on the coupons.

Trey Gerrald:

There are always sales.

Trey Gerrald:

Yes.

Trey Gerrald:

And there are always coupons, never go and do not use a coupon.

Trey Gerrald:

Truly you're wasting money.

Trey Gerrald:

Everything is priced for the coupons.

Trey Gerrald:

You must use the coupons.

Trey Gerrald:

So I thoroughly concur with errands induction.

Trey Gerrald:

I'm like emotional.

Trey Gerrald:

I'm so pleased.

Trey Gerrald:

Everyone listening.

Trey Gerrald:

Please imagine how sad we all would be.

Trey Gerrald:

How much information we would not have at this current moment.

Trey Gerrald:

If Aaron had sat on that nomination, are you kidding?

Chelsey Donn:

true.

Chelsey Donn:

Look at every, like I just, I wrote down when he was doing that, I was like, wow.

Chelsey Donn:

You know, like the

Trey Gerrald:

The passion?

Trey Gerrald:

We just took a

Chelsey Donn:

such quality information.

Chelsey Donn:

I just got a masterclass in JoAnn fabric

Trey Gerrald:

Aaron, please, please.

Trey Gerrald:

Friend me on Instagram.

Trey Gerrald:

I wanna be your friend.

Trey Gerrald:

I think that's so funny.

Trey Gerrald:

And yes, it is an honor, even though this Chelsey was doing this one, we will both simultaneously

Trey Gerrald:

Joan's coupons as our Royal Highness this week.

Chelsey Donn:

Wow.

Chelsey Donn:

Fantastic induction learning new things.

Chelsey Donn:

And I really like, I have been feeling crafty lately, so I think I just might have to act

Trey Gerrald:

Have you been to a Joan?

Chelsey Donn:

Oh in my day.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh yeah, for sure.

Chelsey Donn:

I've been to a Michael's

Trey Gerrald:

we didn't have them.

Trey Gerrald:

I mean, they do exist in South Carolina.

Trey Gerrald:

I, I now know, but I had never been inside of a JoAnn until I worked at one because in

Trey Gerrald:

the south it was all

Chelsey Donn:

lobby.

Trey Gerrald:

Well, I've never been to a hobby lobby either.

Trey Gerrald:

Cuz those didn't

Chelsey Donn:

I thought that your dad like owned a hobby

Trey Gerrald:

No hobby lobby a hates gay people.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh,

Trey Gerrald:

No,

Trey Gerrald:

my

Chelsey Donn:

been going all over town, telling people that your dad owned a hobby lobby.

Trey Gerrald:

How dare you spread bad information.

Trey Gerrald:

Amber, now my dad owned a Ben Franklin crafts who was like a targeted competitor

Trey Gerrald:

They had like framing and plants and, you know, craft stuff.

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah, JoAnn really separates itself from Michael's because they have an outrageous

Trey Gerrald:

It's been rebranded.

Trey Gerrald:

It's just Joan.

Chelsey Donn:

It's just

Trey Gerrald:

If the JoAnn LogoVora is not lime green, then your store has not been updated yet.

Trey Gerrald:

The old LogoVora has a little like squiggly between the J squiggly.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

Is it like more hunter green?

Trey Gerrald:

The hunter green is an old one.

Trey Gerrald:

It it's lime green now.

Trey Gerrald:

And it's one word, Joan.
