rope impact podcast. And today I have my co host here, my amazing

husband, my best friend and my business partner, TJ, and we're

actually going to share with you an amazing opportunity that we

have been so passionate about. We've been working behind the

scenes with some amazing professionals, and that is, we

are bringing to you an opportunity to own your very own

cousins. I think that's amazing. Quick background story. Many,

many years ago, you guys will know on previous episodes, I was

a struggling single mum. I was raising seven children on my

own. I had spent months in a woman's refuge. I was living

barely week to week. I don't even think you could class it as

week to week. I had moments where I had to feed my kids with

one potato. I have just had my own what would you call it? My

own struggles and life, and we've we've dived into that on

other episodes. But what those things actually took me to all

of those experience actually landed me in a position where I

had to create my own entrepreneur journey. I had to

start with nothing to create something. And we are actually

creating all of that in a professional format to be able

to help others to create this entrepreneur journey. And I'm

really excited, because originally, when I was a single

mum with the seven kids, I wanted seven cousins, one for

each kid. That was that was as far as legacy building got for

me. And then once I met TJ, and we need 16, we kind of

multiplied very quickly. We realized that we had a really

good thing with the cousins. It wasn't just a place for people

to come and eat, right? You've had people that have come in and

hugged you and cried and and really experienced the kazis.

What for you, my love, was your first experience of the kazis,

and what feeling did you get? Ah, like crystal

just said, it's not, it's not just about food, like we have

this motto, and it's full of Puku fully wairua. So not only

are you filling up your Puku with our beautiful Kai, we

actually filling up your water as as well, which is your

spirit. So one thing we do, like, when, when someone comes

into our cafe, we treat them like a long lost Auntie or uncle

or cousin. You know, God occurs. You know, it's just, it just

makes them feel good, like straight away, and it's and

that's how we like to connect people and communities with with

our Kai So,

and that's a big part of culture, too. A lot of cultural,

oh, what is it called? Just that, like that. I don't want to

use the word wairua, because that's, you know, like but it's

just that that family environment that support that

unity, that love and affection, that attention to detail. And

it's really about creating that village, that village that we

deep down inside, know, and remember, you know, like our

roots are so deeply intertwined, I believe that all people with

cultural, ethnic background, sorry, have those deep

connections and that the world can get away on us. And that's

why we want to bring back the importance within our business

to be able to share it, I think, empowering people within not

only our community and across the world, even like we've got

some really big goals, don't we? Yeah, like,

a few years ago we actually talked about franchise,

franchising, the cousins. Just imagine all these cousins all

over Australia, and then. To New Zealand and maybe the world, and

fast track to now, it's only been a couple of years since we

first spoke about it. It's like it's happening. Like, yeah,

it's happening. We're doing it's happening whanau. We, you

know, we got, we got, finally that come in from Melbourne,

Sydney and all over Australia, and they say, Man, you need a

cousin over in Melbourne, or a cousin's over here, and it just

got us thinking, man, we need it. We need to think big, you

know, yeah, stop it. Also. We ourselves and

yeah, limiting, limiting belief is a big, big problem within

entrepreneurship as well. But, man, if we can do it, you can do

it with all our with all all our baggages, how I started to how

we blended together, and how we juggle, like all our kids, like

we raise eight kids in primary school at the moment, it's it is

crazy, but we've actually created the cousins to suit us,

to suit our lifestyle.

And that's the beauty about having a business and, yeah, and

we want

other people to experience that opportunity, to be able to, you

know, just completely chuck out those limiting beliefs and that

to not be an issue. We've done the hard work. We've literally

done the hard work. It's been five years now, and the proof is

in the pudding that our systems work, our recipes work. We are

growing a lot, we've learned a lot, and we're really putting it

into a package. We are, yes, yeah, it is. I'm really excited,

because I know that this can be life changing for so many

people. Like, like, I said, five years of hard work, blood, sweat

and tears have gone into making our systems work, yeah, like, we

have worked right?

So we've basically done the done the hard yards. And not going to

say it's, you're just going to buy a franchise is going to be

easy, but you know, you still got to put in your hard work as

well. But I feel our point of difference is, you know, you get

you actually get us. We're going to be your new cousins. We will

be your cousins to help guide you and mentor you, not only

with business stuff, but also, you know, other you know, mental

health issues as well. You know, because

that will come up in business. 100% it will ring you

about, like fortnightly meetings with all the franchises and

just, yeah, just dropping in any problems to do with business or

outside of business, and we're just going to be there to help,

help them. So

it's a very purposeful and intentional franchise. It is not

just a business, it's a community. It's a Fano, it's

support, it's what is it? It's everything. It's yeah, it's more

than just a business, and we want to really showcase to the

world how amazing Maori and Pacific Island people are 100%

you know, like, we have a very beautiful culture. We've got

so much to give, you know, we, yeah, got so much to give. And

if it takes us to actually push some people, yeah, you know,

some people might have these limiting beliefs off how I can't

see myself having my own franchise. We're then going to

be there to help push you, yeah, be that backbone and let you

know that you can do it like, like crystal says, if we can do

it, man, anyone can do it. And
