So I used to go to the movies all the time, pre COVID, but I have not been going

So I found a theater that was playing top gun.

My friends and I were excited.

Girls night out, everything was seeming good.

About five minutes in an entire row of people walk in, you know, the movie's just

You know, Tom cruise is on screen and.

The person has like their flashlight on and they're trying to find the seat

And then they're like whispering, but like really loud whispering.

And that like at another point, like in the middle of the movie, one of them left and

And I got 10% off, like literally in the middle of the movie.

Like hello?

Who raised these people?

They were probably in their twenties.

I was just trying to think, like, did I behave like that?

Like, I don't think I was ever that disrespectful

the sanctity of the movie theater, like.

Hmm.

We're here.

We're trying to enjoy this moment.

We're trying to all focus on the same thing.

All we do all day long is like, we're on the phone.

We're so distracted.

We're talking we're whatever.

Like this is the time when we get to just turn it all off.

And pay attention to this art that I dedicate my life to, that you dedicate your life to.

And these people are back there.

Like, why are you here?

You could literally be anywhere.

And you're ruining this experience.

And at one point, I mean, I really had to hold together cuz I like, you know, I'm

Literally my Complaint today is opening candy at a Broadway musical

because David and I had the amazing opportunity to see a very good friend of ours.

Play the role of Evan Hanson in the musical.

Dear Evan Hanson on the great white way.

We were in the third row with vocalist of our theme song, Natalie Weiss.

And I mean, I could talk about that performance as a Royal Highness.

I don't know if the listeners have seen dear Evan Hansen, there was a film.

It is an outrageous performance that requires so much emotional access on top of

The, the task is so absurd.

I remember when we saw Ben Ette afterwards, we were like, how will

I know

how anyone else can do this.

I saw Ben in it and I was like, that was the best thing I've ever seen on stage.

Like the acting, the like snot,

So it, without spoilers, there is the whole show is about some deception.

And so there is this incredible 11 o'clock number where Evan Hanson is revealing the deception.

And this is a number where the character is literally snot crying

Yes.

and belting.

Simultaneously.

And we literally, I, I can't even make this up.

We're in the third row and there are these two tourists in front of us.

And they literally in the vamp silence when the character is like

Oh no.

you hear this.

And I was like, no, Natalie smacked my thigh.

So fucking hard.

I'm like, yes, bitch.

I am hearing it too.

in the room.

He starts belting really high and crying.

And then we hear this.

It was like a three parter.

They had to like wiggle the paper candy out of the purse.

Then they had to open the paper candy.

Then they had to put the candy in their teeth and make crazy clicking sounds.

At the point in the show where been plat, one of Tony, it was, I could not believe it Chelsey.

It's like also that is a moment where you are waiting the entire show, especially if.

Have seen that, you know, that this outrageous moment is about to happen.

It's like the defining moment it's as if seeing wicked and you're getting to define

a fine gravity.

and there's a blackout, right.

Or it's like, you're going to see dream girls.

And you're about to hear, and I am telling you, and, um, F he loses her voice.

Like, it's just like we have arrived at the moment that will live in

at the like pin ultimate moment, the moment the

And we're seeing our friend in the role on Broadway.

So can't!', I, I can't, I don't understand also, like I like similar to your people.

It's like, I don't understand the, um, need to do it, especially like at such a pivotal moment.

Like you're in the show.

This is a three hour musical we're at two and a half hours.

I don't know.

I'm making those numbers up.

Like you're in the plot of the story.

Now you need a candy also, the minute you hear how loud the candy is, how do you not just stop?

that's like what I'm wondering, cuz it's like we, we talked about, we had the

And sometimes I feel like people can be loud without realizing it.

But with the sounds that were coming at the movies, and it sounds like also in your

That is really weird that we both have the same Complaint.

But there are even, I've been to the theater before where the pre-show announcement is

They added that to the, to the vernacular.

it's like even more of a double offense.

Anyway, that's my Complaint.

Ugh.

I'm glad that we both simultaneously agree

I mean, obviously I hear you.

Who are these people or is it just cuz all of us have been inside that now

We don't realize how we're supposed to act.

David thought that it was maybe a cough drop, but I don't remember

So I'm like, Regardless,

a David reply in that.

until there's applause or wait until there's a swell of music.

Don't do it in the literal silence where the person is crying.

is so sweet to be like, maybe they had a terrible cough

it was really absurd though.

It was like, even with his positivity, it was like, are you kidding me?

But I think the problem is both in this case and my case, and

So first of all, like you're so close to the stage, which is like, so egregious and terrible.

Also, we were not center.

We were literally like on the side, but we were the seats, like towards the center.

So we were on the aisle right there.

He was literally in front of,

That song happens on to the like stage,

He was like five feet away from us.

I mean, it was like, it was unnervingly close.

I, I was

you're like that close.

So you'd think at that point, like,

in a conversation with the performer.

Well, you are, but also you think at that point you'd wanna be there.

Like, for me, I was like, with these, like with these kids, I'm like, maybe

Maybe they've like, top gun has been out for like a century.

Maybe they've seen it already, like, you know,

I think it just comes down to people don't realize how loud they are or they don't

That's what I think the kids' problem is.

And that's what these tourists, I think they just were like, we're at world boy.

They weren't Southern by the way.

There was this lovely elderly couple that used to go to all the shows at Strausberg

They would fall asleep in the first row and like snore, like loudly, like

We read you a review, we break it down and then we rate the impact of that

This is, oh, well, I, I think maybe the title goes to show, but if anyone is unaware, there is

First exhibit gift shop.

Most interesting thing here is the herbal aphrodisiacs.

Other than that, the usual array of novelty, sex gags com rags high gloss

Three out of ten second exhibit Linda Lovelace, basically a biography of her sad life and a giant

Lots of shock value, but no substance two out of ten third exhibit, this was the Funland

Best part was the bouncy house.

Novel, but only about 10 minutes worth.

It left a lot to be desired four out of ten fourth, exhibit animals, sexuality.

Now this was the most informative and educational part and I appreciated it the most.

There were beautiful 3d models of the animals and even a few informative videos.

Nine out of 10, fifth exhibit sexual quote, unquote oddities.

Very few were actual oddities, some sex dolls, some dildos attached to a thing.

Some vintage porn comics and a dress made of condoms felt like

Three out of 10.

The admission charge was pretty high for the sort of stuff we saw.

If I had to describe Mo sex in one word, it would be gimmick.

Don't come here.

If you are serious about sex ed, or want to see anything you couldn't see on your

I thought this was interesting.

I wanted to say that the idea of breaking it up into categories and doing the like

I like that KTF took us through, like the various rooms gave a lot of information

I think that that's good because I mean, I guess animal sexuality, you know, was KTFS thing.

So for them, they did have a nine out of 10 experience in at least one of the exhibits.

That's where I'm, I'm wondering if this should be a two star, but then it really

So that sort of distracted me, I guess, at the top.

I guess it's mu they're, they're using the, oh, it's like museum of sex,

Cuz you wouldn't capitalize the O

but then wouldn't it be Moss MOS.

I don't know.

Also, why are you, why are you shortening museums?

Shouldn't you be shortening sex?

I don't know.

Most sex is very confusing, especially when you're reading it out on a podcast.

Cuz it sounds like you're saying more sex.

More sex or most I wrote down most sex at first.

Like I Donn don't know, but anyway, that was definitely confusing.

I think it's super interesting that KTF is such a hater.

They described a lot of things that I don't think you'd have in your normal

I think a lot of these museums and I think museum of sex is sort of like an earlier on.

They they're sort of like Instagram museums at a certain

It feels like

And someone's gonna wanna take a picture of themselves

Which they don't include that in the list at the end.

Cuz you can't get the experience

And then also I just thought, is that a good point?

Because it's like, yeah, well, you don't have to go to the, you know, the met either.

You could Google, you know what I mean?

Like you could really say that about anything like Google it, like, read about the artist,

And I don't know, I think that the idea.

A museum is a collection of items.

So like, yeah, you could Google this and Google that and go to the sex shop and

I think more if KTF had spent more time talking about they don't address kink,

If more of the focus had been.

I think I could have been with them, but because, you know, they're sort of just knocking, it

And like, I, I just, I never think you're gonna get the same experience from

There's also like this was a very common theme in the review.

As I was purveying for today, many people really were disappointed in the actual education from the

Like I'm trying to weigh like separating the disappointment of having gone, but

I mean, I think that if a lot of other reviewers are saying that, and KTF said

General area, because it seems like that's the main reason that KTF has an issue with this.

It's the place that you're let down by, but you can't really complain because

I mean, I don't really know exactly what we're getting at, but I yeah, go.

well, to the, all of this point, do you think that the information that

I think it is, but like maybe I, I wonder if the intention was there.

Cause like, I think that the, they gave the whole bouncy house rock climbing wall.

They gave that four outta 10, but like.

I thought that was really cool.

Like, I wouldn't have thought that the museum of sex would've had that, honestly, I would've

So like I thought it would be like, sort of this, you know, walk through museum

I Donn know, but like just, I thought it

more buttoned up

a little more, yeah, a little more like.

We're not really giving you anything other than like the imagery on the wall or the

And I didn't know that that was a thing until we read KTFS review.

So I do think there's like information to be gained here.

So they do call that area Funland, which is part of their publicity too.

It's sort of like Funland at the museum of sex, which is really full of all of the sort

And they are like photo ops as well.

But you, you just made me think of something interesting.

The whole thing is like this isn't worth it.

The only good part.

Is Funland, but they're giving that four out of 10, which is interesting.

but beyond them, giving it up four to 10 then, yeah.

I don't know.

Then they're giving animal sexuality nine out of 10.

Why?

Because there was like the most information.

It seems that that's what they're getting at.

There was a more, the most amount of substantive information to learn

Which I have also garnered is no longer there.

They do like change some of the exhibits out.

I believe the Linda Lovelace exhibit is no longer there.

It's something new.

Yeah.

I just thought it was like funny to be like Google, the dress made of condoms.

It's like, again, like, yeah, you could Google it or you could see it.

I kind of wanna see it.

Like how did you make a dress full of, I don't know.

And I also like their fourth point of how to get the experience for

It feels to me like there's something a little less dark or ski V or gross about a

I do think that I do feel like it's not, the review is not addressing all audiences.

Cuz I think like there's gonna be all kinds of people that are here.

Like some people, like I said, bachelorette, or they're like more

I think we can't, we can't conflate the two things.

I don't think like a sex shop and a sex museum.

Shouldn't be the same thing in my mind.

And then as far as spelling and grammar, it's pretty great.

I mean, there aren't issues other than Mosac.

I did think that there was like a literary convention where if you use an abbreviation,

To like set up the reader that this is what you're doing, but if you're at the museum

I, I caught on, yeah, I caught on eventually, but I was like,

It's literally the first word.

And I don't know that I've ever seen that before, so, Hmm.

I, I mean, I do think that KT is being truthful.

I think this is truly their experience.

Is this gonna be common?

I mean, I can sort of say from looking at a lot of reviews and maybe you as well this

I mean, I wasn't really getting into the nitty gritty of the reviews.

I just literally like had it on a list.

Um, and go and put it into TripAdvisor, which honestly Tripad advisor

So it's sort of interesting cuz we were looking two different sources.

I don't know that everybody on TripAdvisor felt that way, but I think a lot of people

And they say that at the bottom line, is that it's gimmicky?

Well, it is.

I mean, it's, you're going to the museum of sex.

It's gonna be gimmicky.

I imagine.

that is.

It it's like, I, I believe them that it is gimmicky.

I'm sure it is.

But if I think museum of sex, do I think gimmicky?

Yes, I do.

Right.

So then does it bother me?

You know, I Donn.

Well, this

occurred to me in this conversation.

Like even it being called museum of sex, not museum of human sexuality, like it

It's sort of a colloquial term.

I mean, sex is the word, but like it already in the whole branding, it feels.

Instagramable.

So, but does that mean you can't have a lot of knowledge there?

No.

like a good cautionary warning for people going to the museum is like, if

I mean, the humor, not really a lot of humor necessarily.

I was entertained cuz they're literally walking me through each exhibit.

So I found that to be pretty valuable.

And then I don't know, I feel like the impact here is like, this is a two star and I feel

I didn't like that.

I thought that was a little shady

Like, yeah.

first I thought I was like, oh, are they gonna like tell us to go

Like I, you know, I thought maybe they were gonna give like a tip for how to get, and then

Yeah, it's a little condescending to be like, just Google it.

So Chelsey and I each have our own set of zero to five crown cards in an effort to

I went with three crowns because I Donn don't know that KCF really represents

I did take a point off for the most sex thing, being a little bit confusing.

And also I just.

They were a little shady there in the end.

So that's where my crowns were coming off.

But I did like the fact that they did this two outta 10, five outta 10 rubric, I thought

And I did gather a lot of information from the review.

So for me, that's where the three crowns are coming from.

But you went with four crowns.

Why to do that for KTF.

So I just Googled Mo sex.

And literally the first thing that comes up is the museum of sex.

So maybe, yeah, it says like the museum of

sex.

be people like us that are looking,

But it says.

if they like wrote museum of sex, parentheses, most sex.

And then like, then we would've known.

right.

It says it's also known as Mo act, but here we are two of us and we've never heard of

The concept of like, you can't really complain because of the inflatable boobs.

So I'll give it to stars.

But I think like my opinion of what the museum of sex is, has probably been impacted by KTF

And ultimately like, you know, it's for the experience, it's not for like actual

I mean, we do have these little computers in our hands, you know, so I Donn know.

if you can't spare an afternoon to not look at your phone.

Exactly.

then maybe you don't belong in the museum.

But I did think these reviews would be much more ripe with like immature

And a lot of them really felt very straightforward to me, which I don't know what

So that's why I said four.

I think it was a good review.

All in all.

I really do.

I think it was solid.

And even where I disagreed, I, I think ATF did a good job.
