Speaker A

Welcome to Love Notes from Rhonda.

Speaker A

And today I want to talk about what it means to have forward progress.

Speaker A

You hear me say quite frequently, move forward, move forward.

Speaker A

That's the point, right?

Speaker A

To move forward.

Speaker A

Not to be perfect, not to jump leaps, but just move forward.

Speaker A

You do one acknowledgement that's moving forward.

Speaker A

You do one gratitude that's moving forward.

Speaker A

You create an intention statement that's moving forward.

Speaker A

If you are able to catch a thought that's based in fear, that's moving forward.

Speaker A

Even if you do nothing about it, if you're able to identify that you need to forgive, that's movement forward.

Speaker A

Even though you don't forgive yet, right?

Speaker A

So just these little moments of awareness, this moment of, I see it now, I see it now, I see it now.

Speaker A

It might take another few moments or days or weeks for you to actually shift it, but just the awareness is movement forward.

Speaker A

It is making forward progress.

Speaker A

And I want you to really take that in today.

Speaker A

It is not about, oh, I realize I have to forgive somebody, but I'm not ready to.

Speaker A

So I guess that's not moving forward.

Speaker A

No, no, no.

Speaker A

You even admitting to yourself that you must forgive yourself or others, is movement forward.

Speaker A

You thinking about acknowledgments, but not quite doing it yet.

Speaker A

When you never thought of acknowledgments before is movement forward.

Speaker A

So anytime that we're stretching, risking or dying, no matter how little, no matter how minute, no matter if it's one second of your day, that is movement forward.

Speaker A

Now, this is the other thing that I wanna say about movement forward.

Speaker A

Sometimes movement forward looks like it's going backwards.

Speaker A

So, for instance, let's take that forgiveness moment, right?

Speaker A

We know we have to forgive.

Speaker A

We're aware of it.

Speaker A

So that's moving forward.

Speaker A

And yet, what if we start to thinking about forgiving and we get mad all over again, we get frustrated all over again, we get angry all over again, we feel victimized all over again.

Speaker A

All of those feelings we don't want to feel come up again.

Speaker A

It feels like we're going backwards, but in fact, that too is moving forward.

Speaker A

Now, how is that movement forward?

Speaker A

Because you're allowing yourself to feel the feelings that have been stuffed inside of you for far too long with a different frame around it.

Speaker A

The frame is, I am willing to feel this, to move through it, to get to the other side of it, because this feeling is telling me I need to forgive.

Speaker A

So I know without a shadow of a doubt that when I move through these feelings, when I'm willing to do the Forgiveness, work day in and day out, week after week, month after month, and again.

Speaker A

Sometimes you'll forgive one time only it'll be done.

Speaker A

And sometimes you'll forgive once a year for the next 10 years.

Speaker A

And that's okay.

Speaker A

When those feelings come up and you're thinking, I'm going backwards, I'm feeling those feelings again.

Speaker A

Ah, I don't want to revisit that.

Speaker A

No, my friend, you've got a different lens around you've got a different frame around it.

Speaker A

You've got a different awareness about it.

Speaker A

And that means that even though you're having the same, it feels like you're having the same feelings again.

Speaker A

That too, is movement forward.

Speaker A

That is movement forward.

Speaker A

I just want you to hear that that is movement forward.

Speaker A

Because the more you can see your willingness to feel the feelings that you've refused to feel, to pay attention to the thoughts that go through you and be willing and able at times, when you're ready and when you're not even to shift them.

Speaker A

All of this is movement forward.

Speaker A

So I want you to eliminate from your vocabulary, I'm going backwards.

Speaker A

Oh, God, I wish you would never say that ever again.

Speaker A

I'm going backwards.

Speaker A

No, you're not going backwards.

Speaker A

You're experiencing it, reliving it.

Speaker A

But again, with a different lens, a different intention.

Speaker A

You're doing it from an awake place, not a sleep place.

Speaker A

And this, my friend, is everything.

Speaker A

This is everything.

Speaker A

I promise you that it is everything.

Speaker A

How good it is to know this.

Speaker A

How good it is to know this.

Speaker A

So validate, affirm, claim.

Speaker A

Any moment of awareness, whatever that awareness is, is movement forward.

Speaker A

And my friend, there is no going back.

Speaker A

You know too much now.

Speaker A

Until next time, be fearless.

Speaker A

I love.

Speaker A
