Welcome back to another episode of health hacks. I am Melissa Deally, your host, and today I want to talk to you about lymphatic love. This is one of the most overlooked systems in our body, and it is your built in cleanup crew. People who know my work, know that I am a big proponent of detoxification, because we live in a toxic world, and our lymphatic system is working 24/7 to clear out our toxins, our metabolic waste and even infections. However, it doesn't have a pump like your heart does, it relies on you to keep things flowing. So if you're feeling puffy, sluggish, foggy or just off, maybe it's because your lymph is a little stagnant. And the good news is it's really easy to support. So here's a few quick ways to show your limb some love. First off, start your day with one minute of movement. You've been lying down all night. You need to get up and start moving in just one minute. Think of jumping jacks, rebounding, if you have a rebounder, or even dancing to your favorite song. It doesn't need to be fancy. Just get things moving, and doing that also has another benefit of boosting your mood, because, you know, especially when you dance to a favorite song, you can't help to and feel anything except happy, right? Another option is dry brushing before your shower in gentle strokes towards the heart, and it stimulates lymph and boosts circulation. And there's videos that you can find on YouTube that teach you how to do this, and I have a couple as well. If you want to reach out to me, just DM me, and I'm happy to share those links with you. And that is another great way that you can stimulate your lymphatic system. Another one is a light collarbone massage, because this is where a lot of lymph drains, and just a few circular motions right at the base of your neck can make a big difference. And also detox baths. I love my Epsom salt baths. Epsom salts help soak up and release the toxins through your skin, and that, of course, is one of your largest detox organs as well. So a beautiful, relaxing way to end your day and then get into a lovely, deep, restorative sleep. Now these tiny habits can help you feel clearer, lighter and more energized. And when your lymph is flowing, your immune system is stronger, your skin glows and your body simply detoxes more efficiently, which is what we all want right now if you want to dive deeper into lymphatic healing, I actually had a powerful conversation with a colleague and friend named Olia, and her last name starts with a Z. It's Russian. I can't pronounce it, so we'll just call her Olia here, and that was on my don't wait for your wake up call podcast episode 199 and she and I had a fabulous conversation about lymphatic drainage. She teaches more in more detail around the movement around the collarbone, etc, and we talk about how physical blockages and energetic stagnation all negatively impact our lymphatic system and what you can do about it. So tell me what's one way that you will support your lymph this week? Tag me. Send me a DM, or simply start with one minute of jumping jacks or dancing to your favorite song to feel the shift your body will thank you.
