Hey hey, this is Shaun with the GoTennis Podcast powered by Signature Tennis.
Speaker:Today's tennis tip comes from Ben Hestley of Bull Shark Sports.
Speaker:Have a listen and let us know what you think.
Speaker:Hi, this is Ben Hestley from Bull Shark Sports.
Speaker:Today's tip is about on ramping.
Speaker:What is on ramping?
Speaker:Basically on ramping is a steady progression, getting you back to where you were the season
Speaker:before.
Speaker:Or perhaps a little bit better than you were the season before.
Speaker:But it's going to take time.
Speaker:You're getting into a new season.
Speaker:You don't need a boot camp.
Speaker:You don't need to go out and hit five days a week if you haven't picked up a racket
Speaker:in a couple months.
Speaker:Set a daily plan, a weekly plan, to steadily get back in good game shape for the upcoming
Speaker:season.
Speaker:Don't expect to play your best match in your first match.
Speaker:Give yourself some grace.
Speaker:It's going to take time.
Speaker:But steadily progressing over time, weeks, months throughout the season, you're going
Speaker:to be a better tennis player in the long run.
Speaker:So again, like any good coach says, you always want to be at your best at the end of the
Speaker:season, then you do at the beginning of the season.
Speaker:So think about it like this.
Speaker:Consistency is key.
Speaker:If you throw a bucket of water on a rock, it doesn't do anything.
Speaker:But if you drop bits of water on that rock over time, it develops a hole.
Speaker:That's what on-ramping is.
Speaker:Steady progression to getting you better at this game.
Speaker:Try that.
Speaker:Hope it helps and have a great ball season.
Speaker:Well, there you have it.
