Speaker:

. Chelsey Donn: Hello.

Trey Gerrald:

Hi everyone.

Trey Gerrald:

Welcome to Review That Review!

Trey Gerrald:

The podcast dedicated to reviewing

Chelsey Donn:

Reviews.

Chelsey Donn:

We're just like Siskel and Ebert only instead of reviewing cinematic masterpieces, we

Trey Gerrald:

That's Chelsey Donn.

Chelsey Donn:

And that's Trey Gerrald!

Trey Gerrald:

And together we're

VOICEOVER:

The Review Queens.

Trey Gerrald:

Hey Chelsey girl.

Trey Gerrald:

How's your crown.

Chelsey Donn:

Hey Trey.

Chelsey Donn:

My crown is good.

Chelsey Donn:

I just had a very productive writing meeting with Amy and we made some nice decisions and edits.

Chelsey Donn:

And I'm very excited about the direction of this next draft.

Chelsey Donn:

So just coming off of the excitement of that!

Trey Gerrald:

Yay!

Chelsey Donn:

To get even more excitement by being here in recording this podcast

Trey Gerrald:

I'm having a really good week.

Trey Gerrald:

You know, it was actually a little gloomy out today, which was a little bizarre.

Trey Gerrald:

And, um, our fire alarm batteries just started dying throughout the house,

Trey Gerrald:

So when you unscrew it to change the battery, an alarm goes off, which is like really obnoxious.

Trey Gerrald:

And then they're like not standard batteries.

Trey Gerrald:

Like they're like a very specific kind and I'm not going to buy them from ADT.

Trey Gerrald:

So I had to like order them on Amazon, you know, there'll be coming tomorrow.

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah, exactly.

Trey Gerrald:

That's occurring.

Trey Gerrald:

But you know, it's such a gift to be able to have fire protection.

Chelsey Donn:

Do you hear that, like, 'beep...beep?'

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

I had to deal with it.

Trey Gerrald:

Cause I didn't want it to show up in this recording.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh good point.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

That's a lot.

Trey Gerrald:

Anyway.

Trey Gerrald:

Well, is there anything specific that you would like to complain about?

Trey Gerrald:

Would you maybe like to,

VOICEOVER:

Lodge A Complaint!

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah, I need to lodge a complaint today, as it turns

Chelsey Donn:

I don't know who my Complaint should really be directed to if it's just that like, I want

Chelsey Donn:

And I'm sorry if like our male audience has exited, but like it's a real thing.

Chelsey Donn:

And.

Chelsey Donn:

The worst thing about it is that it has, you have it, you experience it on the one hand.

Chelsey Donn:

You're like, okay, thank God.

Chelsey Donn:

At least for me, it's like, I PCOS.

Chelsey Donn:

So I'm like, oh, I'm healthy.

Chelsey Donn:

It's coming.

Chelsey Donn:

Like, I'm, I'm grateful, but like I'm in pain and it's annoying.

Chelsey Donn:

And I have to know that if all things go well, like if everything goes, according to

Chelsey Donn:

I just don't think we talk about it enough openly.

Chelsey Donn:

It's just like amongst girlfriends, you're kind of like, Ugh, can you believe this?

Chelsey Donn:

This is terrible.

Chelsey Donn:

The worst cramps.

Chelsey Donn:

And they're all like, I understand, I hear you girl.

Chelsey Donn:

But I think globally let's have this conversation because women were just walking

Chelsey Donn:

But you know, it's real.

Chelsey Donn:

So I'm lodging a complaint.

Trey Gerrald:

Well, You know, I have a friend who has 'P-COS' as well.

Trey Gerrald:

And ... Callback!

Chelsey Donn:

I don't know, did we do that in the rehearsals or in an episode?

Chelsey Donn:

I don't know if people know about that.

Trey Gerrald:

I think I remember transcribing it, so I think it is in an actual episode

Chelsey Donn:

Oh, it's in the Laverne Cox..

Trey Gerrald:

Episode one, two or three.

Trey Gerrald:

One of those.

Trey Gerrald:

Yes, yes, no, I hear you.

Trey Gerrald:

It makes me think of, I'm not similar, but it is similar.

Trey Gerrald:

There is this whole culture of, female suppression, something that really bothers me.

Trey Gerrald:

And I think there is a comedian who has this in their thing, but it ha it is

Trey Gerrald:

Why are pad commercials?

Trey Gerrald:

Why don't they use a blue liquid to simulate the effect?

Trey Gerrald:

I understand red is like, like it is gross, but it's like, but we all know what a pad is for.

Trey Gerrald:

Like, when you change the color, it's just perpetuating this.

Trey Gerrald:

Shh.

Trey Gerrald:

We don't talk about the female body.

Trey Gerrald:

Like you know, there's so much systematic stuff against women that you know, it's stupid.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

It really is.

Chelsey Donn:

I mean,

Trey Gerrald:

I'm sorry you're cramping.

Chelsey Donn:

Thank you.

Chelsey Donn:

Thank you for saying that.

Chelsey Donn:

Cause like, Ooh, it's been a day in terms of that.

Trey Gerrald:

So I applaud you for being productive today in the midst.

Chelsey Donn:

Yes.

Chelsey Donn:

If I was like in school and in gym class, I would be like, I need to sit out today.

Chelsey Donn:

You know, I'm not going swimming.

Chelsey Donn:

Anyway, that's my Complaint.

Chelsey Donn:

Tell us, Trey, what's going on with your life?

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

So this occurred to me the moment after I closed my complaint about parallel parking.

Trey Gerrald:

So I'm, I have to Lodge it because it's related and, and I don't, there is no solution.

Trey Gerrald:

There's no way to fix the problem unless we paint slots, but I'm talking about parallel parking,

Trey Gerrald:

And then the rest of that side of the street goes along with fitting onto the street.

Trey Gerrald:

So then there's not enough spot left, but there's just a tiny little sliver.

Chelsey Donn:

Right.

Chelsey Donn:

Because if you had a motorcycle, you would be good, but the car..

Trey Gerrald:

Or one of those weird compacts, like two-door cars, it just, it makes

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

We don't know when the dominoes started.

Chelsey Donn:

It's like, did it, where are you the person in front of you?

Chelsey Donn:

Or they just like doing what they need to do and following along or did they start it?

Trey Gerrald:

So it bothers me because we have lines for parking lots.

Trey Gerrald:

So why don't we have lines for parallel parking?

Trey Gerrald:

Is it because of motorcycles and smaller size vehicles?

Trey Gerrald:

I mean, maybe it would be more obnoxious if like,

Chelsey Donn:

If there were lines?

Chelsey Donn:

Well also it's just, yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

I mean, there are lines when you're, you're when you're paying at like a pay meter thingy.

Trey Gerrald:

Correct.

Chelsey Donn:

So like, there are times in LA where you'll parallel park and there

Chelsey Donn:

But if it's free, it's not coming with lines.

Trey Gerrald:

Right.

Trey Gerrald:

I, so like where did that, where did that logic start?

Trey Gerrald:

I don't know.

Trey Gerrald:

I don't know what the solution is, but it really,

Chelsey Donn:

I wonder if it's just cause there's all different sizes of cars parking, you can

Trey Gerrald:

And I do think that it is an issue that only arises in ginormous cities, where

Trey Gerrald:

Like that drives me crazy.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

Like it's the worst when you're circling or when someone's like, what about that spot?

Chelsey Donn:

And you're like, I don't know how, like, how am I supposed to just put

Trey Gerrald:

oh, it's going to be a fire hydrant.

Trey Gerrald:

And then you walk in, it's not, it's just small.

Chelsey Donn:

A small spot exactly.

Chelsey Donn:

Or hate when it's just like a little bit too small, but whatever.

Trey Gerrald:

The worst.

Trey Gerrald:

All right.

Trey Gerrald:

Well, I do feel better that is out in the open and I think Chelsey.

Trey Gerrald:

We should jump into some online reviews.

Chelsey Donn:

I think we should jump into some online reviews.

Chelsey Donn:

That's a great idea.

Chelsey Donn:

Let's do that.

Chelsey Donn:

So as you guys already know, thank you for listening in again, we

Chelsey Donn:

We each bring in a review from the internet that we feel needs to be inspected.

Trey Gerrald:

We read you the review, we break it down and we rate the impact of that review

VOICEOVER:

Assess That Kvetch!

Chelsey Donn:

Alright, you're first, today.

Trey Gerrald:

Okey dokey pokey.

Chelsey Donn:

Take it away, RQ!

Chelsey Donn:

...just warming up for Meryl-Go-Round just in case I have to do Opera Diva later.

Trey Gerrald:

I don't know if my stomach can handle this.

Chelsey Donn:

You can handle this, Trey.

Chelsey Donn:

You got this!

VOICEOVER:

Review, That Review.

Trey Gerrald:

All right.

Trey Gerrald:

Today I have a two star review from amazon.com.

Trey Gerrald:

This is for Pepto-Bismol!

Chelsey Donn:

Yes.

Trey Gerrald:

From AmazonCustomer.

Trey Gerrald:

I know, I wish they had like a name name, but they don't.

Trey Gerrald:

That's what the name is.

Chelsey Donn:

All right.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm fine with it, I guess...

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

And this is for the Pepto-Bismol Chews.

Chelsey Donn:

K.

Trey Gerrald:

I've been using there for about two months and I noticed the areas of my teeth that

Trey Gerrald:

I've always had extremely white teeth.

Trey Gerrald:

My dental hygienist is religious.

Trey Gerrald:

I am extremely upset that my teeth have been stained now.

Trey Gerrald:

No amount of scraping brushing or white strips seems to improve it.

Trey Gerrald:

I also tried discontinuing use of the product for two plus weeks and no luck.

Trey Gerrald:

This seems like grounds for a lawsuit to be perfectly honest.

Trey Gerrald:

I literally don't know if my teeth will ever go back to normal or how long it will take.

Trey Gerrald:

Meanwhile, I go around like a fool with white teeth and black spots between my teeth.

Trey Gerrald:

I will upload pics once I charge my phone.

Flavor:

two out of five stars.

Flavor:

Too chewy and flavor is nothing special, almost like a M and M except Pepto flavored.

Travel:

three out of five stars.

Travel:

Earlier today, I tried to put one of the bottles in my pocket while I walked out the car to work.

Travel:

I had to take them out because of how utterly loud and annoying the rattling noise was.

Travel:

I even tried putting a paper towel in there to stop them from moving.

Travel:

Didn't work.

Travel:

So now I just put a few chewables in my pocket.

Travel:

If you sweat or move a lot, this starts to degrade the physical integrity of the chewable.

Travel:

I can't speak about the chemical integrity of the product actually working.

Travel:

They seem to do something at least to help an upset stomach.

Value:

they should be paying me after I stained my beautiful white teeth, which I

Value:

I don't even know how to get my teeth back to normal, what an absolute nightmare.

Value:

Dash dash dash And no, the stains are not from something else, such as diet or over brushing.

Value:

I have done dental slash hygienist shadowing as I am applying to dental school.

Value:

So I have some knowledge of the field already.

Chelsey Donn:

Wow.

Chelsey Donn:

I feel like the dentist school was a plot twist.

Trey Gerrald:

I know!

Chelsey Donn:

Did not see that coming from AmazonCustomer.

Trey Gerrald:

AmazonCustomer.

Chelsey Donn:

AmazonCustomer.

Chelsey Donn:

Wow.

Trey Gerrald:

Have you ever had Pepto-Bismol chewables?

Chelsey Donn:

I think they have, are these the ones that are Starburst, like, or

Trey Gerrald:

I'm so glad that we're clarifying this.

Trey Gerrald:

Yes, because these are actually in a clear plastic bottle and they do look like pink-colored Mentos.

Trey Gerrald:

It's not the like pop out of fibers.

Trey Gerrald:

No, no, no.

Trey Gerrald:

There's a different one where they're like in like those classic, like aluminum foil,

Chelsey Donn:

the chalky ones,

Trey Gerrald:

this is not chalk.

Trey Gerrald:

This is like a Pepto-Bismol

Chelsey Donn:

mento

Trey Gerrald:

mentos.

Chelsey Donn:

Yes.

Chelsey Donn:

Now this is where I'm confused.

Chelsey Donn:

First of all, like very, I'm going to say right off the bat, in terms of effort.

Chelsey Donn:

Well, first of all, did they ever upload the pictures?

Chelsey Donn:

I'm guessing no.

Trey Gerrald:

No, they never, they never did upload any images.

Trey Gerrald:

So I guess their phone is still uncharged.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay, well, that removes a little bit of my trust from, from

Chelsey Donn:

However, what makes AmazonCustomer a candidate for Review Queendom is the fact that in the

Chelsey Donn:

And they talk about the taste.

Chelsey Donn:

They, you know, they give the nod where the nod is due.

Chelsey Donn:

They talk about the travel experience, the value, a lot of, a lot of

Chelsey Donn:

So I, you know, I, I know, I I'm wondering, I chuckled at the sentence,

Chelsey Donn:

So are they saying that...

Trey Gerrald:

...they're hasidic...

Chelsey Donn:

...they visit exactly.

Chelsey Donn:

Are they saying that they visit the dental hygienists religiously

Chelsey Donn:

Not only are they amazing at doing a scaling and a cleaning, but they pray over the teeth as well?

Trey Gerrald:

I mean, I took AmazonCustomer to be saying that the dental hygienist is religious

Chelsey Donn:

OH, interesting.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

A third, third interpretation.

Trey Gerrald:

But it is an odd sentence structure.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

I mean, this is where I got confused.

Chelsey Donn:

I think so if this happened to me, you know, me, I'm the, I'm the daughter of a dentist.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm very OCD about my own teeth.

Chelsey Donn:

And so if I was using a product and it turned my teeth black or gave me like

Chelsey Donn:

I get it.

Chelsey Donn:

However, The part where I was a little lost is then they're talking about travel

Chelsey Donn:

And I'm wondering, where are we in space and time?

Chelsey Donn:

Like, is it that you used to put them in your pocket and travel around?

Chelsey Donn:

And as soon as you realize this was the issue, you stopped using them altogether,

Trey Gerrald:

That was my question too, because they say I tried discontinuing

Trey Gerrald:

How many, how often do you have to take Pepto-Bismol.

Trey Gerrald:

Oh, this is something you take every single day of your life.

Trey Gerrald:

If so, I think you need to see the doctor.

Chelsey Donn:

Well, that's, that's where I think there's a little bit of confusion in this Review

Chelsey Donn:

I like, I've been trying as in, like, it's been two and a half weeks where I've

Trey Gerrald:

Right, what is the actual timeframe here?

Chelsey Donn:

Right.

Chelsey Donn:

Or is it that I took off two and a half weeks and then figured, well, it's not taking them away.

Chelsey Donn:

So I might as well continue use the product.

Chelsey Donn:

Like I I'm a little confused.

Trey Gerrald:

It is confusing, especially because they go into the breakdown of

Trey Gerrald:

So,

Chelsey Donn:

So is it that we need an edit to like the order of events a little bit more so that

Trey Gerrald:

No, because it says I tried discontinuing use of this product for two plus

Trey Gerrald:

I tried to put one of the bottles in my pocket.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay, that's ridiculous!

Trey Gerrald:

So they went back to using it again.

Chelsey Donn:

That's insane.

Trey Gerrald:

And then they wrote the review after going back to the product today,

Chelsey Donn:

Right!

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

This does not, this review, this review just plummeted.

Chelsey Donn:

In value.

Trey Gerrald:

It's like, they were like, so upset about looking like a fool with

Trey Gerrald:

And then they like took a break and then they're like, I really just need

Trey Gerrald:

So then they tried to put it in.

Trey Gerrald:

It was too rattling and loud and they're like, that's it.

Trey Gerrald:

I'm going on Amazon.

Trey Gerrald:

Cause I am AmazonCustomer.

Trey Gerrald:

Wait, what do you think of the fact that they tried to put this bottle in their pocket?

Trey Gerrald:

And it was rattling because it's little Mentos things inside of a plastic bottle.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

Like what else is this was, but I love that they, they had options.

Chelsey Donn:

Like they tried the cotton, you know, they tried to do things to remedy

Chelsey Donn:

Like if I have this bottle of Tylenol in my pocket, it would be rattling around all over town.

Trey Gerrald:

Yes.

Trey Gerrald:

So do these lozenges.

Trey Gerrald:

And so does Altoids.

Trey Gerrald:

It's like everything,

Chelsey Donn:

Everything rattles!

Trey Gerrald:

Even change in your pocket rattles,

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

We're rattling all the time.

Chelsey Donn:

We're rattling right now.

Trey Gerrald:

I'm also, I want to acknowledge the, um, the grammar is

Trey Gerrald:

Flavor.

Trey Gerrald:

And then travel about like, that's an interesting, and then it has like the

Trey Gerrald:

And no, it isn't because I'm gross, but there are a lot of spelling problems here.

Chelsey Donn:

I was going to say.

Chelsey Donn:

It sounded like in the beginning there were some errors where there were some sentences that...

Trey Gerrald:

Well, I'm glad you said that.

Trey Gerrald:

Cause literally the first word of this review is I've and it's just spelled IVE.

Chelsey Donn:

No, without the apostrophe, but, but there was this bear.

Chelsey Donn:

There was like a, 'there' yeah, that was wrong..

Trey Gerrald:

Let me read it again.

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

I've been using there for about two months and I noticed the areas of my teeth that

Trey Gerrald:

What?

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah, that whole sentence needed a full rewrite.

Chelsey Donn:

Like what is it that I, so I really have to read between the lines and say

Trey Gerrald:

Or these, I think.

Chelsey Donn:

or these.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

For however long.

Chelsey Donn:

And now you're noticing that the residual powder, which comes off the top of the mento

Trey Gerrald:

that's what's causing black.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

The residual pink powder that is coming off of the mento is getting in between your

Chelsey Donn:

brush your teeth like immediately after you use it then.

Chelsey Donn:

I don't know.

Chelsey Donn:

Why are they leaving this around.

Trey Gerrald:

Do they not floss?

Trey Gerrald:

But then, this is 'on the go.'

Chelsey Donn:

Oh, right, true.

Chelsey Donn:

You can't brush immediately.

Trey Gerrald:

Do you think they're being truthful?

Trey Gerrald:

Like, do you think this is actually occurring?

Chelsey Donn:

I'm sure that products, I think, you know, everybody's teeth, uh, like biology's

Chelsey Donn:

And then if we do that, then we are leaving the tooth a little bit more susceptible to staining

Chelsey Donn:

So.

Trey Gerrald:

But they're saying it's the crevices between, which is so weird.

Trey Gerrald:

I do appreciate the sentence.

Trey Gerrald:

Meanwhile, I go around like a fool.

Chelsey Donn:

This is where I feel for that for AmazonCustomer.

Chelsey Donn:

I feel for AmazonCustomer with like, that was like my thing, you know, like like a

Chelsey Donn:

Like that's like everywhere you went, all people would say is like,

Chelsey Donn:

You have the best hair.

Chelsey Donn:

You're the best, whatever.

Chelsey Donn:

And then all of a sudden that's taken away.

Chelsey Donn:

And I think that emotion of that loss for AmazonCustomer is really

Chelsey Donn:

And I think that that's clouding the Review a little bit here and maybe clouding the logic

Chelsey Donn:

Maybe we shouldn't continue using this product.

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

Do we think that this really is coming from this or do we think there's something else

Chelsey Donn:

I really think amazonCustomer wanted to jump the gun on that question

Chelsey Donn:

I mean, can we ever be super certain.

Chelsey Donn:

I don't think so.

Chelsey Donn:

I, I just think like the main place where AmazonCustomer loses me is

Chelsey Donn:

Like if I ha and they give it what, two, two stars,

Trey Gerrald:

two out of five.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

So if I had such a negative experience with the product and I was 1000% confident that

Chelsey Donn:

I certainly would never use that product again.

Chelsey Donn:

And so the fact that we, AmazonCustomer is continuing to use this product.

Chelsey Donn:

It does make me question the way that they're explaining this and whether it is in fact as big

Chelsey Donn:

And like you said, Ideally Pepto-Bismol is something that you take every once in a while

Chelsey Donn:

Long-term a little more regular.

Chelsey Donn:

That being said.

Chelsey Donn:

I just think it's sus.

Chelsey Donn:

It's very sus to continue to use a product after it's done this.

Chelsey Donn:

And if that's not true and the timeline is shifted, then AmazonCustomer has left me confused.

Trey Gerrald:

I mean, I think I can count those.

Trey Gerrald:

How about you?

Chelsey Donn:

I think I can crown it.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

So Chelsey and I each have our own set of one to five crown cards and in an effort to

VOICEOVER:

The Queens are Tabulating.

Trey Gerrald:

You ready?

Chelsey Donn:

I'm ready.

VOICEOVER:

Total Score!.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh, interesting.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

I am holding up two and a half crowns and Trey is holding up three and a half crowns.

Chelsey Donn:

I gave AmazonCustomer two and a half crowns because of the intrigue I now have about this.

Chelsey Donn:

Like, I'm going to go ask my dad about this and see if I need to be

Chelsey Donn:

So for that, you've definitely piqued my interest.

Chelsey Donn:

Also, you're a Queen in the sense that you broke everything down and you had

Chelsey Donn:

I thought that was cool.

Chelsey Donn:

Uh, where you lost me.

Chelsey Donn:

I feel like you almost, AmazonCustomer, have a pumpacity, a pompousness

Chelsey Donn:

Um, I think you're really throwing that in the reviewers face.

Chelsey Donn:

Like I want you to know that I go to the dentist all the time.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm in dental school.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm okay.

Chelsey Donn:

Cool.

Chelsey Donn:

Cool, cool, cool.

Chelsey Donn:

Cool.

Chelsey Donn:

Like, chill, the person that's reading this Review doesn't really need all that information.

Chelsey Donn:

And I think that we could get our message across in a more clear way.

Chelsey Donn:

Also.

Chelsey Donn:

Of course we lost points just for spelling grammar and that whole universe.

Chelsey Donn:

And we also lost points.

Chelsey Donn:

Cause I'm confused.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm I don't know.

Chelsey Donn:

I don't know if I can trust you or not, AmazonCustomer, one because you're living in

Chelsey Donn:

You're hiding behind AmazonCustomer.

Chelsey Donn:

I don't know who you are.

Chelsey Donn:

And you're telling me things that don't really add up.

Chelsey Donn:

So I'm a little suspicious and that's why I'm giving you two and a half crowns.

Chelsey Donn:

How about you, Trey.

Chelsey Donn:

Why three and a half?

Trey Gerrald:

I did three and a half because I think there is an impact here for me.

Trey Gerrald:

Like I think that I would just stick with the chalk version chewables rather than these be

Trey Gerrald:

Like I, I took two and a half off.

Trey Gerrald:

Nope.

Trey Gerrald:

I took one and a half off because I don't know.

Trey Gerrald:

I feel like I do feel like we might be missing a little something to the story here.

Trey Gerrald:

And they're just so protesting so much about dental knowledge that it makes the, a little

Trey Gerrald:

I get that these are chewables on the go, but, um, obviously if you take a bottle and

Trey Gerrald:

So like, I don't, I don't think that that's specifically like a knock against this product.

Trey Gerrald:

So for that reason I gave it three and a half.

Chelsey Donn:

Nice.

Chelsey Donn:

Good review!

Chelsey Donn:

lots to, lots to chew...

Trey Gerrald:

...chew on...

Chelsey Donn:

lots to chew on!

Chelsey Donn:

We said the same thing.

Chelsey Donn:

Lot's to chew on there, Trey.

Chelsey Donn:

Love it.

Trey Gerrald:

All right.

Trey Gerrald:

So let's take a quick break.

Trey Gerrald:

And when we come back, we can get into Chelsey Donn's review!

Chelsey Donn:

Can't wait.

Chelsey Donn:

BRB

VOICEOVER:

Weew-weew-weeew!

Trey Gerrald:

It's Game Time!

Trey Gerrald:

It's time for Chelsey and Trey to play One-Star-Zingers on the Meryl-Go-Round!

Chelsey Donn:

Here's the deal now I'm not going to do it.

Chelsey Donn:

Cause I can't do that to you guys.

Chelsey Donn:

Trey and I have each picked a rotten, scathing, pithy One-Star-Zinger and with

Trey Gerrald:

Just like Queen Meryl Streep who does it all!

Chelsey Donn:

Before the clock runs out.

Chelsey Donn:

And I'm going first.

Trey Gerrald:

I really like saying that so fast.

Trey Gerrald:

I don't know why, but okay.

Chelsey Donn:

It just feels very game showy.

Chelsey Donn:

Like I feel like game show you always, they always like include a final phrase that they it's like

Trey Gerrald:

Results not typical.

Chelsey Donn:

Right?

Chelsey Donn:

Exactly.

Chelsey Donn:

All right.

Chelsey Donn:

So my one star zinger is from Walmart and it is a One-Star-Zinger

Chelsey Donn:

They very small not how they look on the picture.

Trey Gerrald:

Uh, how many are there?

Chelsey Donn:

...not how they look on the picture.

Chelsey Donn:

Three,

Trey Gerrald:

Oh, okay.

Trey Gerrald:

All right.

Trey Gerrald:

Are you ready?

Chelsey Donn:

I am.

Chelsey Donn:

What am I strapped into?

Trey Gerrald:

Tonight you are strapped in, on another Florida animal,

Chelsey Donn:

Tick Tock.

Trey Gerrald:

What does Florida?

Trey Gerrald:

Alligator Alley?

Trey Gerrald:

It's an alligator.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

Either way it could be in Captain Hook.

Chelsey Donn:

I just always think of like the clock.

Chelsey Donn:

Yes.

Chelsey Donn:

Right?

Chelsey Donn:

Exactly.

Chelsey Donn:

All right.

Chelsey Donn:

So let's do this.

VOICEOVER:

3, 2, 1,

VOICEOVER:

GO!

VOICEOVER:

WWE.

VOICEOVER:

They are very small, not how they look on the

They very small, not how they look on the picture, what that was being news.

VOICEOVER:

They, there, he smells not how they look on the picture.

VOICEOVER:

VOICEOVER:

Very small, not how they look on the

VOICEOVER:

Trey Gerrald:

You got five my Queen.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

Good job!

Chelsey Donn:

I feel like diminishing returns for me, but here we go.

Chelsey Donn:

That's okay.

Chelsey Donn:

What did you bring in?

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

I found this, uh, for the hometown episode, but then I went with the boil

Trey Gerrald:

So this is a One-Star-Zinger from Amazon by Adam D.

Trey Gerrald:

This is for the Heinz Carolina Mustard Style, sweet mustard, barbecue sauce, and

Chelsey Donn:

wait, sweet mustard, barbecue sauce?

Trey Gerrald:

You know, barbecue sauce.

Trey Gerrald:

Like if you're a Southern style, barbecue sauce as mustard base.

Chelsey Donn:

I didn't know that.

Trey Gerrald:

And the normal barbecue sauce is like ketchup based.

Chelsey Donn:

I had no idea.

Chelsey Donn:

That's a thing.

Trey Gerrald:

Oh yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

So there you go.

Trey Gerrald:

So Heinz started making a Southern style.

Chelsey Donn:

Interesting.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

And Adam's subject is bleck, B L E C K, exclamation mark.

Trey Gerrald:

And then his rev Adam's review is bleeh.

Trey Gerrald:

No, no, no, no.

Trey Gerrald:

And bleeh is spelled B L E E E E H.

Trey Gerrald:

So that the subject is bleck and then the review is bleeeeh.

Chelsey Donn:

Wow.

Chelsey Donn:

What diversity in one Review!

Chelsey Donn:

Adam.

Chelsey Donn:

Good.

Chelsey Donn:

Where you are strap.

Chelsey Donn:

I have you strapped into like a Florida orange.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah?

Trey Gerrald:

So sweet and yummy.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

I think that would be a good look for you.

Chelsey Donn:

Plus I just feel like you're someone who could ride round things, obviously like the eight ball.

Trey Gerrald:

It makes me think of that episode of Top Model.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

Yes, exactly.

Chelsey Donn:

It's exactly like that!

Trey Gerrald:

All right.

Trey Gerrald:

I'm trying to get a podcast record with this review.

Trey Gerrald:

So get ready.

Trey Gerrald:

Get your fingers ready.

Trey Gerrald:

And I'm going to try to be as acting style, Meryl as possible.

Chelsey Donn:

We are bringing Meryl into the room with us.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

I'm on my, my orange

Chelsey Donn:

Get strapped into your orange!

VOICEOVER:

3, 2, 1, GO!

VOICEOVER:

Game show.

VOICEOVER:

No, no, no, no.

VOICEOVER:

VOICEOVER:

No, no,

VOICEOVER:

No, no, no,

VOICEOVER:

no.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh my goodness.

Chelsey Donn:

Let's see how you did, Trey.

Trey Gerrald:

I don't think I got, I don't think it was a record.

Chelsey Donn:

It's not a record, but we tied five and five!

Chelsey Donn:

Is that the second time in a row we've tied?

Trey Gerrald:

And we tied on the live.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh my God.

Chelsey Donn:

We've been tying lately

Trey Gerrald:

We're SO in sync!

Chelsey Donn:

So Fun.

Trey Gerrald:

Are you going to devour me?

VOICEOVER:

Review That Review?

Chelsey Donn:

At least we're having fun.

Trey Gerrald:

That sound kinda scared me in real life.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm glad.

Trey Gerrald:

All right.

Trey Gerrald:

So we're back from the game break.

Trey Gerrald:

And now it's, Chelsey's turn.

Trey Gerrald:

Chelsey girl.

Trey Gerrald:

Where's your review from this week?

Chelsey Donn:

So glad you asked.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

So my Review!, it's a little unusual, you know, I usually bring in the one star reviews,

Chelsey Donn:

This is a three star Yelp review written by Mark M for the restaurant, Le Bernardin.

Chelsey Donn:

This review was tough for me to write and it might even be tougher for you all to read.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh, I wanted to love this place.

Chelsey Donn:

I really did.

Chelsey Donn:

And while the food was nothing short of amazing.

Chelsey Donn:

The service here left a lot to be desired.

Chelsey Donn:

You see, you always hear about how great the service is in fine dining, especially so at any

Chelsey Donn:

So cold.

Chelsey Donn:

I walked in on a weekday afternoon for lunch.

Chelsey Donn:

I wanted to have a seat in the lounge.

Chelsey Donn:

I didn't have a jacket on this trip and I knew the dress code for the lounge did not require one.

Chelsey Donn:

Mind you.

Chelsey Donn:

I was dressed just fine for the lounge.

Chelsey Donn:

I wore dark jeans, black dress shoes, and I had on a collared long sleeve

Chelsey Donn:

When I approached, who appeared to be the maitre D, I asked if I could have lunch in the lounge.

Chelsey Donn:

And he looked over the lounge, which was completely empty and said, 'sure.'

Chelsey Donn:

The wait staff did not smile.

Chelsey Donn:

It honestly didn't seem like they were eager to assist me with my menu choices, filling my

Chelsey Donn:

The only other party in the lounge consisted of three young women who

Chelsey Donn:

Throughout the meal, the maitre D and several hostess type people would look

Chelsey Donn:

Needless to say the entire meal felt very awkward.

Chelsey Donn:

And if it wasn't for the amazing food, I might've even walked out!

Chelsey Donn:

Anyways about the food.

Chelsey Donn:

Le Bernardin has always been lauded as this Mecca of seafood.

Chelsey Donn:

Many people have said that Le Bernardin is North America's best seafood restaurant, is it?

Chelsey Donn:

Yes, it is.

Chelsey Donn:

Le Bernardin is literally the best seafood restaurant that I've ever been to.

Chelsey Donn:

Every dish was flawless.

Chelsey Donn:

I started out with the hamachi tartar.

Chelsey Donn:

The hamachi was so fresh.

Chelsey Donn:

The fish had the perfect texture and mouthfeel, the slice cucumbers added a nice bit of crunch.

Chelsey Donn:

And the lemon citrus emulsion brought the right amount of acidity.

Chelsey Donn:

The dish was very balanced and it ate well.

Chelsey Donn:

Next up was the salmon.

Chelsey Donn:

I don't know for sure.

Chelsey Donn:

If the method of unilaterally cooking salmon is an Éric Ripert signature, but I was

Chelsey Donn:

The salmon in this dish was easily the best two pieces of salmon I've consumed.

Chelsey Donn:

The texture was so unique.

Chelsey Donn:

I didn't know, salmon could even feel or taste this way.

Chelsey Donn:

The vege, pea puree, and sauce, in this dish was also quite memorable.

Chelsey Donn:

Even months later, I can still remember everything about the dish.

Chelsey Donn:

I added the lobster cappuccino simply because-

Trey Gerrald:

EWW!

Chelsey Donn:

I added the lobster cappuccino, simply because I heard

Chelsey Donn:

When it arrived at the table, I was a little sad because the dish itself was quite small.

Chelsey Donn:

It only seemed like three small sips in the tiny cup, but after I took the

Chelsey Donn:

The dish was so incredibly rich and fragrant.

Chelsey Donn:

There are pieces of perfectly cooked, lobster hidden away-

Trey Gerrald:

EWWWWWW!

Chelsey Donn:

in the cup.

Chelsey Donn:

And the entire thing was topped off with slice pieces of black truffle, which for the time of

Chelsey Donn:

All in all, this was another perfectly balanced dish!

Chelsey Donn:

For the finale, the tres leches, which consisted of sphere of cashew sponge cake, Clementine

Chelsey Donn:

The dish was a stunner in both appearance and in flavor.

Chelsey Donn:

You can tell they had their pastry chef tirelessly working in the kitchen to make this one right.

Chelsey Donn:

A triumph and a great way to end the meal.

Chelsey Donn:

Ultimately, a flawed service in a restaurant with flawless food.

Chelsey Donn:

Would I returned to Le Bernardin?

Chelsey Donn:

Perhaps...

Chelsey Donn:

and with a little bit of hesitation.

Chelsey Donn:

This is the best Review for us to both read considering neither of us ate fish.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm not even confident that I pronounce some of those things correctly.

Trey Gerrald:

I feel like I just am like a one note person when it comes to wait staff.

Chelsey Donn:

Yes.

Chelsey Donn:

But?

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

I just need to acknowledge my, cloudedness here because I want to be a little objective, but I

Trey Gerrald:

I hate it.

Trey Gerrald:

I hate fine dining.

Trey Gerrald:

I hate Zagat.

Trey Gerrald:

I hate Michelin.

Trey Gerrald:

I hate it.

Trey Gerrald:

I hate it.

Trey Gerrald:

I hate it.

Trey Gerrald:

Hate it.

Trey Gerrald:

And this review perfectly encapsulates the pretense around food.

Chelsey Donn:

Right.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

But, okay.

Trey Gerrald:

What, okay.

Trey Gerrald:

Let me just let that go.

Chelsey Donn:

Let that go.

Trey Gerrald:

I also feel like Mark, I feel like Mark is insufferable to be around.

Trey Gerrald:

Like, first of all, this is a lunch shift!

Chelsey Donn:

In the lounge!

Trey Gerrald:

And you're in the lounge.

Trey Gerrald:

So like, if you were working at this fancy, fancy restaurant, you're not working the lunch shift!

Chelsey Donn:

Right.

Trey Gerrald:

Like the people that had the lunch shift are newer hires.

Trey Gerrald:

First of all, second of all, lunch is lower priority.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

It's still is business.

Trey Gerrald:

So whatever, but like calling this cold and distant.

Trey Gerrald:

I think, is just like a stretch.

Trey Gerrald:

Also, like you went, you were there by yourself and you're like staring

Trey Gerrald:

So they like, like, it just is like, it's awkward because you're being awkward, Mark!

Chelsey Donn:

Super awkward, Mark.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

And then this whole conversation about what are you wearing?

Trey Gerrald:

I knew I didn't have to have a jacket.

Chelsey Donn:

I know!

Trey Gerrald:

So, I wore dark jeans and I wore a button down shirt.

Trey Gerrald:

It's like, so gross.

Trey Gerrald:

I don't care.

Trey Gerrald:

Who cares?

Trey Gerrald:

Who cares what you're wearing?

Chelsey Donn:

I know.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh my Goodness.

Trey Gerrald:

Also that never had any...

Chelsey Donn:

There was no pay off, right?

Chelsey Donn:

It wasn't like I was dressed really nicely.

Chelsey Donn:

And they told me that I needed to leave because I wasn't dressed appropriately.

Chelsey Donn:

Like they just wanted to let us know what they were wearing so that we

Trey Gerrald:

But like this whole conversation about like, I is this truthful.

Trey Gerrald:

I imagined that this really?

Trey Gerrald:

Yes.

Trey Gerrald:

I imagine this happened to Mark.

Chelsey Donn:

Right.

Trey Gerrald:

Like the value here for me is like, because no one asked you, "how's your day going?"

Chelsey Donn:

Right.

Trey Gerrald:

Like, get out of here, Mark.

Trey Gerrald:

I, it's not my responsibility to ask you how your day is going.

Trey Gerrald:

If I'm over here serving you lobster cappuccino, like yes.

Trey Gerrald:

Be pleasant.

Trey Gerrald:

Everyone has, but like to like leave a three-star review because someone

Trey Gerrald:

I think it's just beyond the pale.

Chelsey Donn:

I agree.

Chelsey Donn:

I mean, at least they did three and not one or two.

Chelsey Donn:

I mean, I think it could have been a four let's take a notch off for-

Trey Gerrald:

I think so too!

Chelsey Donn:

I think this should have been a four star review because like,

Chelsey Donn:

They're just having pause.

Chelsey Donn:

They said this was the best, months later.

Chelsey Donn:

They're still thinking about this meal and at the end of it, would they go back?

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah, probably with a slight pause.

Chelsey Donn:

So it's like that to me is a four-star review first and foremost, Mark.

Chelsey Donn:

And second of all, like, ah, just again with the pretension, you know?

Chelsey Donn:

I mean, there are people that are foodies and that would be down for

Chelsey Donn:

So that's the one, cause I know you're like sort of averse to that and I just want to flip that

Chelsey Donn:

So,

Trey Gerrald:

But the point here is that this review is a glowing review about all of those,

Chelsey Donn:

Correct.

Chelsey Donn:

Yes.

Chelsey Donn:

Right.

Chelsey Donn:

And that's why I just think it should be, four-star not five because there's nothing

Chelsey Donn:

There's only something bad about the staff, which I don't know at the end of the day,

Chelsey Donn:

Like hire better people, train your staff better.

Chelsey Donn:

Tell them to interact better.

Chelsey Donn:

I don't know.

Chelsey Donn:

Sometimes Michelin star rush.

Chelsey Donn:

Sometimes you, you go to one and they're just so nice and you feel like, wow, that was amazing.

Chelsey Donn:

And sometimes they're a little bit colder, but I really do think that a lot

Chelsey Donn:

It made me wonder, like how long was Mark there for?

Chelsey Donn:

Was he there for several hours?

Chelsey Donn:

I feel like Mark might've been lingering.

Trey Gerrald:

And, Mark had multi courses.

Trey Gerrald:

I mean, they had a dessert and they had a cappucino.

Chelsey Donn:

Yes.

Chelsey Donn:

Well, the cappuccino, while I think that's a very weird name for the dish is more of a soup.

Trey Gerrald:

See?

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

That I actually wrote down dish.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

I think the lobster.

Chelsey Donn:

Yes.

Chelsey Donn:

I mean, my impression of the way that they're describing, and I know you were like,

Chelsey Donn:

So they ended with the soup course before they had the dessert.

Trey Gerrald:

Emulsion.

Trey Gerrald:

The word emulsion.

Trey Gerrald:

Ugh.

Trey Gerrald:

I recognize that people have different qualities than me.

Trey Gerrald:

So I do want to, once again, just say, I recognize that I have a bias, I'm trying to let go of it.

Chelsey Donn:

Right.

Trey Gerrald:

And to that point, if you're going here, Like you're paying top dollar and you have

Chelsey Donn:

But if you're, I don't know, again, like, I don't want this to be like

Chelsey Donn:

It almost seems like he wanted to go there, but he couldn't, I don't know if

Chelsey Donn:

So he did the lounge instead.

Trey Gerrald:

Well, I'm curious now how Michelin, what their roster is, because

Trey Gerrald:

Also.

Trey Gerrald:

I always thought that these really fancy, fancy restaurants didn't serve

Trey Gerrald:

Anyway.

Trey Gerrald:

So to me, I feel like I would not hang this on my fridge, but I guarantee you that

Trey Gerrald:

And so they, the make grandmother probably will put this on the fridge.

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah, I, it just is a little like, um, cur phenomenally too.

Trey Gerrald:

It's a little fluxing as a little.

Trey Gerrald:

This is all a little.

Trey Gerrald:

Messy to me, because it seems to me that they had an amazing restaurant

Trey Gerrald:

And so they wanted to give you both sides of the story and they just went with three stars.

Trey Gerrald:

But I think what that actually does is it damages the restaurant because

Trey Gerrald:

They get a middle of the road review.

Trey Gerrald:

But it's like, I think it's, like you said, this is a comment card to the manager.

Trey Gerrald:

This is like, I did not get treated well, and I'm dropping lots of money and

Chelsey Donn:

I mean, here's where I will counter for a second.

Chelsey Donn:

So when I go on Yelp, especially for restaurants, something that I do a lot, if I was like, I

Chelsey Donn:

and I will just type in lobster cappuccino.

Chelsey Donn:

Now, if I was doing that, Mark's review would come up specifically highlighted the portion

Chelsey Donn:

And for that alone, I just think I can't, I have to give him a little bit of credit.

Chelsey Donn:

I do think he explains the dishes well.

Chelsey Donn:

He lets you know what you can expect.

Chelsey Donn:

He obviously wants the person reading this review to know that he has an understanding of food and

Chelsey Donn:

So I think there's a little bit of value there.

Trey Gerrald:

Mmhmm, and I appreciate them giving like the opposite as well, like sort

Trey Gerrald:

I do think that is valuable.

Trey Gerrald:

It isn't just decimation.

Chelsey Donn:

Yes, exactly.

Chelsey Donn:

And also I had an LOL moment though, like at the top, when he was like, this was really tough

Trey Gerrald:

No, that bothers me.

Trey Gerrald:

That bothers me.

Chelsey Donn:

I mean.

Trey Gerrald:

So pretentious.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah, like, so pretentious.

Chelsey Donn:

And also it does bring up the point that you made, which is that I think Mark had been planning to

Chelsey Donn:

All the, like, looking at them seemed very odd.

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

Like I smiled at them.

Chelsey Donn:

I looked at them.

Chelsey Donn:

I like, like, it's just, it's strange.

Chelsey Donn:

They, yeah, it's a little crazy.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm sorry, Mark.

Chelsey Donn:

But it's, a little creepy.

Trey Gerrald:

I'm ready to crown this.

Trey Gerrald:

How about you?

Chelsey Donn:

Uh, I feel conflicted.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm ready to crown.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

VOICEOVER:

The Queens are Tabulating.

Trey Gerrald:

You ready?

Chelsey Donn:

Yes!

VOICEOVER:

Total score!

Trey Gerrald:

So I'm holding four crowns and Chelsey is holding three and a half.

Trey Gerrald:

Now I chose four because I do think that the impact for me on this Review!

Trey Gerrald:

is that it might be not the best location for lunch.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

And also don't expect like, Cheers, Cause I don't think everyone's going to

Trey Gerrald:

Something that really bothers me with Mark's Review!

Trey Gerrald:

is that I think Mark has a little bit of a control issue where they want things from other people's.

Trey Gerrald:

If you want the waiter to ask how your day is going, ask the waiter, how their day's going.

Chelsey Donn:

Right.

Trey Gerrald:

Or, I don't know.

Trey Gerrald:

I recognize you want high customer service because you are patronizing

Trey Gerrald:

I give mark four crowns because I think that they work sort of queenly and they're yinging

Trey Gerrald:

I do have an opinion now about the restaurant and certainly about Mark.

Trey Gerrald:

So I gave four it's a solid review.

Trey Gerrald:

Chelsey.

Trey Gerrald:

Why did you do three and a half?

Chelsey Donn:

I did three and a half.

Chelsey Donn:

I took the extra half, off because I really just think this should have been a four-star Review.

Chelsey Donn:

I think this was a four star review.

Chelsey Donn:

It for me probably would have been like a four and a half, four.

Chelsey Donn:

I would have taste still taken off at least a half crown to a crown for the attitude.

Chelsey Donn:

Cause I don't, I don't love it, but everything else.

Chelsey Donn:

He really explained the dishes really well.

Chelsey Donn:

I can imagine people that are wanting to go to this restaurant and wanting to look up

Chelsey Donn:

Uh, and he didn't slander the food.

Chelsey Donn:

He was very specific not to slander the food.

Chelsey Donn:

And so I appreciated that.

Chelsey Donn:

I just think mostly this is in the wrong category for me.

Chelsey Donn:

So that was why I did the three and a half.

Trey Gerrald:

It's interesting.

Trey Gerrald:

I, I wonder how often three star reviews get overlooked, even in my experience,

Trey Gerrald:

It is interesting.

Trey Gerrald:

I love your whole thing about searching specific phrases, but there is something

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

I mean, I, I often won't see a three-star review unless I do search for

Chelsey Donn:

it's like, Would Mark just be a really hard grader if he was your professor.

Chelsey Donn:

Probably like, he was probably someone that just gives everybody really bad grades.

Chelsey Donn:

And that's why this

Trey Gerrald:

And he'd have no decorations in his classrooms.

Trey Gerrald:

But stark walls

Chelsey Donn:

Yes.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah, exactly.

Chelsey Donn:

But you better smile at, Mr.

Chelsey Donn:

Mark.

Chelsey Donn:

Anyway.

Trey Gerrald:

This might be more incentive for me to go there on lunch.

Trey Gerrald:

Cause I don't want to be bothered.

Trey Gerrald:

Like I don't want to get into a conversation with my people.

Chelsey Donn:

Right.

Trey Gerrald:

Like, don't talk to me.

Trey Gerrald:

So maybe that's like the New York coming out, but like whatever.

Trey Gerrald:

Very interesting.

Trey Gerrald:

I'm glad you brought in three.

Trey Gerrald:

I love this.

Trey Gerrald:

We should start doing more 3s.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

I think we need to start mining.

Chelsey Donn:

The three is, cause I think there might be some gold there.

Chelsey Donn:

Just saying.

Trey Gerrald:

What a great episode.

Trey Gerrald:

We had a one, we had two ones.

Trey Gerrald:

We had my two-star and your three-star!

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah!

Chelsey Donn:

We're diversifying you guys.

Trey Gerrald:

So, that just means all of you listeners have to leave us five stars.

Trey Gerrald:

And we'll just forget about fours because Mark's was actually a four.

Trey Gerrald:

So everyone leave us a five star review.

Chelsey Donn:

Yes.

Chelsey Donn:

That's what it means, because math and we're both very good at it.

Trey Gerrald:

Exactly.

Trey Gerrald:

In chronological order.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

All right, Queens, we've reached the most Regal portion of our show.

Chelsey Donn:

Who are you, Trey, inducting today for

VOICEOVER:

My Royal Highness.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

Today I am going to induct all of the Amazon Prime drivers.

Chelsey Donn:

Yes!

Trey Gerrald:

I don't know if you have noticed this, but I have definitely

Trey Gerrald:

I see UPS.

Trey Gerrald:

I see FedEx, and I see Amazon Prime.

Trey Gerrald:

And I know that this is like an indication of the time and culture that we're in

Trey Gerrald:

Which can get a little controversial, but I want to induct all of the drivers

Trey Gerrald:

I will get them in our garage, which is key delivery.

Trey Gerrald:

They have like the access code and then I'll also get them on our

Trey Gerrald:

They just have so much work and it's like, the volume is every single day.

Trey Gerrald:

It's just crazy.

Trey Gerrald:

And especially, you know, Given everything in the climate going on with health, we've really

Trey Gerrald:

And I really do appreciate everyone going out there and like, I mean, it's just

Trey Gerrald:

Like it's just, it must be such an interesting job.

Trey Gerrald:

That's very busy.

Trey Gerrald:

So I want to induct all of the Amazon Prime drivers for making all of our lives

Trey Gerrald:

For that reason, Amazon prime drivers, you are My Royal Highness.

Chelsey Donn:

I Love that we are always so in sync.

Chelsey Donn:

I was literally driving today and seeing a bunch of those They're more like vans.

Trey Gerrald:

They are, yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

And I was like, Ooh, I need to add them to my list.

Trey Gerrald:

Oh my gosh!

Trey Gerrald:

Oh, that's so funny.

Chelsey Donn:

Of course we do that.

Chelsey Donn:

And also I wanted to tell you I'll save it for patron, but I wanted to tell you a

Chelsey Donn:

If the dogs do that.

Chelsey Donn:

Anyway, we'll get back to that later.

Chelsey Donn:

So

Trey Gerrald:

Chelsey, who are you inducting for My Royal Highness today.

Chelsey Donn:

So today I am inducting Brené Brown.

Chelsey Donn:

Why?

Chelsey Donn:

Because I love her.

Chelsey Donn:

Also, I really would like to make hashtag Trey and Brené a real thing anyway.

Chelsey Donn:

So that's separate issue.

Chelsey Donn:

The real issue is I just love Brené Brown.

Chelsey Donn:

If you guys are listening, you don't know who she is.

Chelsey Donn:

She is a shame and vulnerability researcher, and then she takes all of the data that she acquires,

Chelsey Donn:

Shame and how certain elements of our childhood or whatever it is affect us in

Chelsey Donn:

But she does it in an amazing way where she, she just doesn't make you feel like your wrong or

Chelsey Donn:

She really, oftentimes puts herself into the circumstance and makes herself

Chelsey Donn:

Like that's what it sounds like when she's, when she's telling you the stories of this book, like

Chelsey Donn:

And that balance is.

Chelsey Donn:

It's like a chef's kiss.

Chelsey Donn:

It's so good.

Chelsey Donn:

And sometimes she'll talk about that.

Chelsey Donn:

Like, I could never be the scientist shame researcher who couldn't curse and like,

Chelsey Donn:

No, there's not, but I couldn't be authentic to myself if I wasn't doing that because that's a

Chelsey Donn:

And because Brené is able to show up as that, she really gives us access to herself and her

Chelsey Donn:

Otherwise, we wouldn't hear it if we were just listening to it, no

Chelsey Donn:

But if we were just listening to some humdrum lecture about this, we would

Chelsey Donn:

But because Brené is working it up there and giving us stand up comedy while also teaching us

Chelsey Donn:

And I'm just so grateful.

Chelsey Donn:

And honestly, when I feel lonely and I'm driving.

Chelsey Donn:

I turn Brené on just cause she's amazing company.

Chelsey Donn:

So guys, if you don't already listen to Brené Brown, you got to do it.

Chelsey Donn:

All right.

Chelsey Donn:

I love you, Brené.

Chelsey Donn:

Can we be friends?

Chelsey Donn:

Hashtag Chelsey and Trey and Brené.

Chelsey Donn:

All right.

Chelsey Donn:

Love you.

Chelsey Donn:

You're My Royal Highness.

Trey Gerrald:

Brené Brown.

Trey Gerrald:

She, she is one of a kind.

Trey Gerrald:

I mean, there's a reason.

Chelsey Donn:

She is the best!

Chelsey Donn:

Love her.
