Don't tear your clothes in your grief, but tear your hearts instead. Return to the Lord your God, for he is merciful and compassionate, slowly get angry and filled with unfailing love. He is eager to relent and not punish. Joel 2 verses 13. When sadness hits us,

We often go through the physical act and many of us go through the mental or emotional act of tearing our self up in grief. So we play all of the scenarios that could have happened, that would have happened, that should have happened. We beat ourselves up. We yell, we scream, we get

angry but in this passage what we learn is don't tear your clothing and clothing here represents a external thing clothing represents the the covering the veil that you have put over yourself to protect yourself tear your hearts instead allow your heart to be repentant

Allow God to speak to your heart. Allow Him to infiltrate your heart. Don't beat yourself up because God is merciful and compassionate. He is very, very slow to get angry and He has this unfailing love. Unfailing love. Many of us have not ever received

earthly love like this so we don't even know what it feels like we don't know what it feels like to be loved completely and unconditionally by a parent or by a spouse or by a sibling we don't know what that love is so when we read these words in the bible we ask ourselves what is unfailing love unfailing love is love that does not punish

Wesleyne (02:25.644)

It's love that does not anchor. It's love that does not keep score. It's love that forgives. It's love that God and only God can give us. And so we have to remember in our times of grief, in our times of sadness, to not tear ourselves up, to not beat ourselves up, but to soften our hearts.

and allow God's good, merciful, compassionate, and unfeeling love to fill us up.
