Welcome to the Nurse Preneur Academy podcast, where nurses like you discover how to break free from the bedside and build a flexible, profitable business using the skills, knowledge, and experiences you already have. I'm your host, theam Caswell, an RN turned full-time six-figure nurse preneur in 2021.

Everything changed for me in my career. I left my senior nursing role to build an online nurse-led personal brand, one that gives me the freedom to work from anywhere, leverage the skills the hospital paid me to learn and create. Both the income and impact. I always knew I was capable of. Now it's your turn.

I'm here to show you the possibilities beyond bedside and help you transition into a nurse-led business that fits your needs and life. Whether you dream of working from home, earning what you're truly worth, or making an impact on your own terms, I'm gonna guide you every step of the way together. My friends will make traditional nursing as you know it, optional.

Now, let's get down to it and let's build your profitable business.

How much money, money, money can you make as online nurse, entrepreneur, and how much profit can you make? I don't know why I did that accent, but let's talk about it. If you're a nurse who wants to make more money, but the thought of working bedside until retirement with a bad back and a Willy Walker isn't quite cutting it, then less not my friend, it's time to double down and do some listening.

We have been lied to. If you're anything like me, you have been taught that making more money as a nurse comes from picking up extra shifts, grinding through the overtime, or just paying our dues until we get promoted or until we cop it and we retire. But the truth of the matter is making more money as a nurse entrepreneur, it's not about working harder, it's actually about the value you create and offer the world, and that.

Realization should hopefully change everything for you as a nurse entrepreneur. We've been trained to trade our time for money, and I want you to start thinking about creating value for money instead of trading time for money. This is where a lot of people get stuck when they make this transition to entrepreneurship because we're so used to seeing one hour of my time equals $43, and the reality is the wealthiest people in the world.

They don't sell their hours for a dollar amount, and we can learn something from them. So we've been conditioned as nurses to believe that our income is tied to how many hours we work. So therefore we say, I'm gonna work more and we make more money. But wealthy people, that's not how they operate. They make money by solving problems at scale and delivering immense value.

And you can do that too. Instead of earning based on the hours you work, we can go or we can get to a place where we earn money. Based on the value you create from your brain, the problems that you choose to solve, or the transformation that you help people achieve. So I know everybody always wants to talk numbers 'cause they want to see how viable this could actually be.

And I want to break it down for you in the different types of business models, how much money you could actually make and what the profit margins would look like. But I want to preface this by saying, in none of these models, are you gonna be exchanging your time for money? And that should excite the fuck out of you because that means that all of these models done well with the right strategy could get you to six figures.

Multiple six figures and seven figures. And for those of you that never even thought about seven figures, that's a million dollars my friend. You could get to seven figures and beyond with these business models using the skills you already have by. Simply creating more value for the world instead of thinking about time for money.

Okay? And trading your time for money. So let's talk about the different potential income streams or business models and potential earnings. And we're gonna do some math here. And you know me, I'm so good at math that I'll have to use my trust calculator. I'm keeping it real here at the Nurse Entrepreneur Academy.

'cause don't trust me with a calculator. So nurse entrepreneur. Income streams and business models. So we're always gonna start with our low ticket offer, right? Our low ticket offers are things like PDFs, cheat sheets, private podcasts, mini courses, digital products, memberships. An example of this would be or could be.

A $47 online wound care workshop that a wound care expert clinical nurse that is an online creator could be selling to, let's say 500 nurses at $47 times 500. We've got $23,500. That's for one workshop now. If it was that easy, everybody would be doing it. So what does it really take in order for that to come to fruition?

In order to get 500 people to sign up for your thing, you're gonna need an audience, and you're gonna need probably quite a sizable audience. We're talking probably in the thousands of people on TikTok, social media, Facebook podcast, YouTube, that have been nurtured and sold to and inspired, and you've built no and trust factor with those people.

Then come into your email list, they download whatever it is that you're. Giving away for free. Or they sign up for the workshop and they give you their email, and then they go through a sequence of emails that sells them on the workshop. So we'd need to have quite a few people go through the sequence in order to convert at the typical conversion rates within business to be able to generate that type of money.

It's durable, but don't think you can start here. This is where most people trip themselves up. They wanna start low ticket because they think, oh, it'll be accessible. More people can afford that, but that means that you need more people in your world to be able to pay for it and for it to be actually viable for you.

I actually saw a creator the other day online and I was doing the math and I think they were charging like 250 bucks for a 12 month membership for nurses, and I did the math and they have I think 30 people in there and that's $7,250 over 12 months now. That's great. Depending, I don't know what their goal is, but that's not gonna be viable to help you leave the bedside in, in the short term.

There's no way that's gonna happen without putting in the hard yards and doing it over years unless you blow up your brand or you pay for ads. There's so many other things that you could do. But if we're doing it the entrepreneur way. The Entrepreneur Academy Way it's organic, it's storytelling, it's building a personal brand and that's just gonna take a bit of time there.

So I never really recommend that we start here unless you already have an incredibly large following here. You're gonna look at potentially. Profit margins could be between 60 to 80, 90%. Okay. It depends on what systems and softwares you're using, but also it depends on a couple of factors. Did you create the slide decks yourself or did you outsource them to Sam d?

And also you've gotta think about the time that you actually spent in the lead up to creating the workshop and creating the assets for it. So profit margins will vary. It's just a rough guesstimate here, but you would be looking at a high-ish profit margin because it's kinda like a one and done. And doesn't it sound great?

You can do one webinar, one workshop. And get 500 nurses to it and make 23 and a half grand. Like I said, there's lots of nuance there, but I'll leave it at that. That's our low ticket offers. Low ticket offers are typically between. Five bucks up to maybe a thousand dollars a maximum. Probably more like $500.

Then we've got our mid ticket offers, right? So here we're thinking about things that are sitting around 5,000 to $10,000 for a, usually either a group coaching experience, either a workshop or a treat, or a kind of one-to-one coaching container potentially as well. So an example here would be a three month career coaching program that you're selling for $997.

Now, that is far too cheap, but if it's a group program, it might be doable, but we would not be starting there. So let's say three. We've got, 2,500 times 10 for a three month career coaching program that is $25,000. Here, you'd be looking at profit margins around 60 to 80%. So imagine if you launched your group coaching offer three times or four times a year.

On top of your nursing, like your nursing job, and it was purely group, and you took them through a 12 week program where it was all curriculum based. They had some access to some workbooks that you've created ahead of time, and you show up once a week and you coach them and you provide some support in your community.

You would be making an extra $25,000 every quarter. And that's just based on if 10 people signed up every quarter. But the reality of the online space is that the first one, five to 10 people might sign up. You might get less, you might get more, but then the next one, you've been putting out content.

You've been building your audience. So more people sign up. So what was the 20 5K offering now? Might be you might have 15 people. And you might decide that it's too cheap. 'cause nearly everybody that applied wanted to join you. So you put your price up. So then you launch and you have 37 and a half K launch.

So you can start to see how this compounds over time and how it could totally make nursing optional for you. ' cause if you have three or four launches a year, let's just keep it simple for math. And you make 20 5K in each launch, three launches you've made. 70 5K. That is an en. Slash early career nursing salary.

All from packaging up your skills, knowledge, and experience online, creating content, offering value to the world, stopping trading time for money. Creating flexibility in your life, building a hybrid nursing career, totally doable, and you'd have profits around 60 to 80%. The reality in a space like this, you could run this business just with a Google, like a Google Link or a Zoom link if you really wanted to, a couple of Google workbooks.

It does not have to be high cost. Having a full-blown LMS learning system. It needs to be a vi, minimal viable product. Because over time, once you've validated it and you've worked on it, it's gonna improve. You're gonna improve the delivery. You're gonna hone in and lock down your content, and it's gonna become your thing.

The next evolution of this is high ticket offers. This is think $10,000 to work with you. 15,000. 20,000. I even know people online that charge a hundred thousand dollars to work with them for 12 months. It's crazy, right? But like I love the audacity and I love that people are like, that is what I'm worth and that's what you'll pay me.

Fuck. I love that. So when we're dabbling in this space, we're typically looking at more of a one-on-one VIP, high level mastermind. We're a group of individuals that are working towards a specific problem that are high level, high level entrepreneurs or CEOs or business owners. They're all working towards.

It could be consulting or it could be like a done for you service, like a website build or a podcast launch and six month podcast implementation plan, for example. So here we could look at, let's say having a, let's say we have a $12,000 offer and it's over six months, and so therefore we want to make 120 KA year and we're replacing our nursing salary.

We're looking at 12. I can't do the math. I'm so embarrassed. That is like the simplest math, Liam. I'm divided by two, divided by 12. It's gonna be like so simple, isn't it? It's five. It's 10 people. Oh, that is so dumb, Liam. Oh my goodness. 10 people. Don't tell my math student up. 10 people. You need 10 people to buy your $12,000 thing that you've created from your brain.

Okay, based on the fact that your audience needs something and you've co-created it with them, you validated the offer. You found purpose, profit, sweet Spot. You create a six month offering that is $12,000, and all you need is five clients in January, five clients in June, July to replace your nursing cell.

Are you seeing what I'm seeing here? And many of you would be like, what the hell would I sell for $12,000? Look, most people don't start here. When I started that, I was selling shit for a hundred bucks, but over time I evolved that. But what I'm seeing is that like our nurse preneurs in the nurse PR academy, they're coming in hot and they're messing around and I don't think they should either.

And I wouldn't be teaching you two either. We should be coming in and we should be commanding the price point. That makes sense. And we reverse engineer the goals and we go, if your goal is to make a hundred K, let's make that happen. Your goal is to make 250. Let's make that happen. Reverse engineer the math and look at the numbers with my trustee calculator.

'cause you know I can't be trusted with numbers and map it out together. So how awesome would that be if you only had 10 clients a year that you had to serve? Think about the time, the luxury, the freedom that you would have. Think about the income replacing your nursing income. You could cut back in nursing hours.

It's like I said, this is not where we immediately start. We build up to this over time, but. It's so doable and it's so viable. And how do we know? 'cause there are people already doing it, which means you can do it with your personal and professional skillset. So here, because it is a higher touch, you might have more investment with your people.

But again, they're gonna go through the same cycle. They're gonna go through the entrepreneur client pathway, right? They're gonna come into your world, they're gonna download something from you, or they're gonna reach out to you through your content. 'cause you spoke to their core because you created incredibly converting content.

That's valuable. They go through your email sequence, they raise their hand. They say, I would love to work with you. You send them an offer and they sign up and then you deliver your services and you do it so good and they love being in your world. Here, you could have profits between, again, 60 to 80%. You might even have higher.

It depends on how much you outsource, right? Because it's at a higher price point. You might have a podcast that maybe you decide you outsource to somebody because it doesn't make sense for you to be doing podcast editing when you could be signing a new client. Or maybe you just want to have more spaciousness because you have the income.

You can afford to do that. So that's our high ticket offers and there's no limit, which just breaks my brain. It's what I love about entrepreneurship is that we have in the system been told for years that we have to just settle for a hundred twenty, a hundred thirty, a hundred forty, a hundred fifty eight on level CEO level if you want that.

But what about the people that don't want that? What do you do? Do you just sit at 120 for the rest of your career? With your potential just being capped by the system, or do you lean in, package up your skills, create something that's hugely valuable, solve a real problem in the world, and get to do it on your terms and make more money in a 12 month, in a 12 month period than you could ever think possible.

That's what's possible as a entrepreneur, service-based business models. So we're thinking IV hydration, wellness services, cosmetics. Maybe you're in like a healthcare consultancy or private practice. Now this will vary depending on your service, right? And this is a little bit more clinical than the others.

So there are gonna be some probably rules and regulations around RY code of conduct and things like that you need to explore. But let's say you are a nurse led IV hydration clinic and you're doing, a hundred sessions in a month, which would be a lot, right? Let's just do a hundred divided by four.

That's 25 a week. That's probably quite a long, but let's just go with it. 25 sessions a week serving your IV hydration niche and your people, and you've got recurring. Clients and all of the things are happening. So 250 bucks per session, sorry, 25 sessions per week at $250 is gonna be 6,250 per week.

So times by four. That's about 25 grand a month, bearing in mind with IV hydration, cosmetics and things like that, the sticker price. So the two 50, you're probably gonna need to take 70 to 80 bucks off that, depending on what you're using, what supplier you're using. There are definitely like who's scripting for you?

There are costs involved in that. So therefore your income is gonna be lower because you're gonna have things that you need to factor into your pricing. And this is where a lot of people struggle with these types of businesses, is that they under price themselves and so therefore they end up just making the same early rate that we're making in nursing.

But the reality is, even if you're doing 2025 IV hydration clients a week, that's a lot. You could be. Doing a couple of them at the same time, right? So you kinda bundling your time. So one hour you've got five people, five mates that are doing, IV hydration 'cause they're hungover or whatever.

One hour of work, one hour and a half work would be about 1250 if you've got five of them. But then you've gotta take your cost off. So there are a lot of nuance with this, but I hope that's given you an indication as to what it looks like at each level and how you could generate. Any level of income through each of these business models and modalities, your potential earnings in business, unlike the system, is not capped.

So you are not playing by the rules of the system. And that's where we have to shift our mindset from training time for money to creating value for income. And one example of this is, in our entrepreneur academy, I was coaching an amazing nurse the other week, Ivy Hydration, does some coaching and some breath work as well.

And they were talking about. Taking on a new breathwork client, and we were talking about pricing and they were thinking about $50, $55 an hour for the breathwork session. And I said, but why would you choose to charge what you already were being paid in the system? Why not just go to work and do an extra shift?

And she kinda stopped and she looked at me and that was the reality. She was about to go and create this offer for somebody that wants her service, that needs her service. Her service solves a real problem for them. And I'm not talking about ripping people off, but we have to. Charge what we are worth, and we also have to look at the result that our service delivers to our person, to our client.

So if your clients get amazing results, and for example, in the breath workspace with this client, you know their sleep's improved, they've got better relationships, they're losing weight because they're no longer fatigued because they've implemented the breathwork strategies. Think about all of the byproduct of choosing to work with you.

How much is that worth for people? When I learned how to lose weight and I did this weight loss journey in the last six to 12 months, like I've been trying to do that for 10 years. How much was that worth for me to be able to invest in? And how much could they, could my trainer have charged in all reality to be able to get this result and to feel as confident and as happy as I feel now at the current weight that I am.

So I just want you to think about that when your brain starts to go, I could never do this. Because the reality is when you have an incredible offer, an incredible niche that you feel so pumped up about helping and serving, the price will make. Total sense to you, and you will have to do some mindset work on it because it's new and it's different.

But when you start getting validation from the market and people start paying, and then people start saying, this is too cheap, because that's what people will say to you, then it gives you some belief and some data to go, oh my goodness, this is doable. I could totally make nursing optional and I could make as much money as I want.

How much money can you make as a nurse entrepreneur? The answer is boring, but it's unlimited. It's exciting. You can make as much money as you want. In fact, I have huge money goals and I cannot wait to make them happen and to be an example of what's possible for nurses. If you can help someone solve a problem, make their life easier, improve their health, wellbeing, career relationships, you can monetize them.

So I want you to stop thinking how many hours do I have and how much can I charge for the hours that I exchange? And we wanna start thinking about how much value can I create for my dream ideal audience and client. I hope this has inspired you to see that your nurse preneur business is totally possible and that your uncapped unlimited income I'll waits my friend I.
