Just trying to encourage them to motivate themselves, to really, not just to motivate them, but more just teaching them how to self motivate themselves.

So that's my main thing, how I do my kids.

It's more like, look, I get you, you know, you want to be this and be that, but you got to be motivated yourself, you know, because nobody can pull you out the bed and, you know, and push you to do what you don't want to do.

Because that's be the main thing.

You know, it's the hard stuff that you don't want to do, you know, to make you exceed and excel to the next level.

So that's how I started out.

You might trigger my brain on some more stuff.

So for me, I do affirmations, okay?

I remind them of who they are.

So for Quincy's, like before you ever started making A's and B's or straight A's.

I'm reminding you, the smartest man alive.

Before my girls go to school, because they always had straight A's.

But before you go to school, like, for Cason, we got a whole ritual we do where it's who's the most gorgeous woman alive?

Who's the love of my life?

And the last of it is I remind you to have the greatest day ever.

Like today, Like I saying earlier, like, my boys, they just sit around, like, no, be.

Be assertive in something.

Like, do something with your life.

Don't just sit there and just waste time.

Because once you loot, like, that's like.

Like our biggest enemy is time.

Because once you lose it, bro, you can't get it back.

Like I said, I got them in there, you know, finishing this LEGO project that I've been working on that I should have finished a long time ago.

In a way, they can understand where I'm coming from.

And so for me, when I'm raising you, when I'm talking to you, when I'm motivating you, that's another motivational piece for me.

They tell you now?

Daddy said it all the time.

He sent us a text on it all the time.

Why?

Because you can't be like me.

I don't want you to be like me.

I want you to be better than me.

You have to keep taking the step forward.

And if you're not taking the step forward, it's not that you failed.

I feel like I failed.

So my motivation for my kids is really something that results in me not feeling like a failure.

Cuz Junior, we can lose our job or business tomorrow.

Yeah, we could.

You going to find another one?

Yeah, we going to get another one.

What you can't do is look at your child and see them worse off in life and not take on that thought process or that, that feeling that I failed you.

Yeah, that was my mistake.

Because obviously I didn't get you the right tools to do this, man.

I don't know why I'll be saying it on certain times.

And I, and I take this every time to heart.

Like I should have just paid for it.

Because I knew for a fact I should have just pushed you more, you know what I'm saying?

But at the end of the day, it's cool, but, you know, we all make mistakes.

But at the end of the day, I just wanted to make sure she was good.

But at the same time, I just didn't know, you know what I'm saying, what to do with that situation.

I stopped, but I should have just kept on pushing her to make sure, you know, she did get that certification for her to do her, you know, petition and stuff like that.

That helps me motivate them or have words to motivate them, to push them towards something is being able to depend on themselves.

And so doing exactly what my dad wanted me to do is what I'm doing with them.

I'm better than.

I'm getting better at what than where my dad was with it.

So he called me out my name.

I don't have to call you out your name, but I still need you to think for yourself.

I still need you to.

To do things on your own.

And like, Case is a prime example of it, because I kept telling her and motivating her, she don't want what daddy is cooking, what daddy is making.

I need you to learn how to warm up these noodles.

I need you to learn how to cook links.

I'm still learning how to make sure my kids are very confident in, you know, what they do or sure of, you know, how they handle things.

And I make mistakes.

I just told y' all earlier, like, I made a mistake for myself, and I take that personally.

Like, I should have pushed my daughter, you know, a little harder than what I did in the past.

But for now, it's just like, okay, cool, that's over.

You gotta change the page.

And I love what you just said because it just got my brain cells twerkulating.

That literally is what I'm talking to my woman and kids about, is building up their confidence.

And because we were raised by fear.

Now when I get with my boys, I'm good.
