It's a blessing every time we get together and study around the word of God.

But this week we've been talking, well, past couple weeks, we've been talking about how to choose a niche for your business.

Amen.

And today's day seven.

And I tell you what, let's go ahead and share the screen.

We'll just jump right into this.

Praise the Lord.

And, you know, there's two ways to look at making money, and that's to look at how other people are making money, especially in your niche, because is there room for one more?

Yesterday we looked at a lot of things, but one way to look at which niche to enter into is, you know, you look at it and say, well, you know, other people are making money.

Is there room for one more?

To do?

So in my niche now, my belief is there's always room for one more if you're willing to optimize so that you can do things as well or better than somebody else.

And that's a big if in a lot of situations.

Some people like to enter markets where there's very little competition.

They want to be the big fish in a small pond where there's only two or three people making money.

Because then I said, you become a major player in your little tiny niche.

The problem is that, or with that is in today's marketplace, there's only a couple of competitors.

There's probably not a whole lot of demand that's not across the board.

But, you know, it's a general rule of thumb.

Amen.

I now there's a few ways for you to know if your competition is profitable, but many ways to imagine that they, and now, as I said, imagine they might be profitable.

There's a big difference in those two words.

For them to actually be profitable is one thing.

Now, for you to be able to figure it out, that's something else.

Amen.

Imagine going to your local pizza shop week or so.

Last week, I think we used the example of a restaurant, let's say, let's go a little bit more basic.

You go to your local pizza shop and you walk up to the proprietor and you say, hey, I'm thinking about opening a pizza shop across the street.

How many pizzas do you sell on Friday night?

Now, the guy might just call the cops on you and have you arrested for trespassing.

I mean, he's not going to give you that information.

Amen.

Because that will affect his bottom line.

Well, really, if you look at it in that light, it's the same thing online.

If someone is genuinely making money in your area of interest, they don't want you or anybody else to know.

Sometimes folks will do things that.

That make it look like they're not generating as much money as they really are.

They don't want the competition to know the little secrets that they have.

Is your competitor trying to trick you then?

Could that be something that's happening?

Is your competitor trying to trick you so that you stay out of the niche?

For example, you might want to look at a particular online business.

Let's just say, let's go down another path here.

I want to see if this person's websites are making money.

You log on to the website, oh, man, he's running an awful lot of advertisement.

He's not getting a whole lot of web traffic, visitors.

So what's going on here?

Well, what you don't know is that he runs his own web advertising, and he randomizes it and splits it up between 1015, 2030 different websites on 30 different domain names, all selling the same products.

So that way, one website never looks like it's really that popular.

So when people are researching, say, yeah, there's not much, there's not much traction there, and he just spreads it out.

He doesn't need to brag about how many visitors he's getting.

In fact, he doesn't want the competition to know how many visitors he's getting.

He may be advertising on those big search engines.

He may be advertising, you know, he may have 30 different ads running to 30 different websites all at the same time, selling those exact same thing under 30 different brand names.

Literally.

He is creating his own competition.

But in the bottom line, all the sales are going right in his pocket.

Now, the flip side of that, we say, yes, there are 30 different competitors.

So this must really, really be a hot niche.

The truth of the matter is, it's one person instead of 30.

That person has so optimized the flow of traffic, to be honest, it'll be very, very difficult for you to break through and go head to head with him in competition.

The truth of the matter is, I don't think there's very many situations that are really like that.

It'd be hard to find that.

But there are some people that do that.

Okay.

There are some people that try that, but it's probably not as prevalent as it was, you know, way back, say, four or five years ago.

Okay, and the other option is you do enter a niche that does have a lot of competition.

That's okay.

That's fine.

That's okay.

As long as you are prepared to do what it takes to carve out your little piece of the business and then defend that niche that you just carved out.

And that's what we're going to be talking about next time.
