Speaker:

Hey hey, this is Shaun with the Atlanta Tennis Podcast, powered by GoTennis.

Speaker:

And today's tip comes from USPTA and PPR certified pickleball pro Jim Carella.

Speaker:

And it's for all you pickleballers out there.

Speaker:

Have a listen and let us know what you think.

Speaker:

Hi Jim Carella here, aka Jimbo Pickleball.

Speaker:

Today we're talking about the grip and the pickleball ready position.

Speaker:

I'm often asked what grip should I use?

Speaker:

Well, the continental grip probably is the best for pickleball.

Speaker:

Gives you the best of both worlds.

Speaker:

The other is what type of ready position?

Speaker:

Extremely important.

Speaker:

If you're a tennis player, ready position is important, but pickleball is imperative.

Speaker:

Get that paddle out in front.

Speaker:

Be ready. Speed ups come very fast.

Speaker:

Remember you're only 14 feet apart from your opponent.

Speaker:

So being prepared is key.

Speaker:

Hope this helps.

Speaker:

Happy Pickling.

Speaker:
