Speaker:

Money is actually units of choice. The more units that

Speaker:

I went through a stage of gambling. I'm sending out to the universe that

Speaker:

I don't care about money, I'm just giving it to these machines. Obviously I'm not

Speaker:

going to get back in return because the universe sees me as giving

Speaker:

I can go to the supermarket, I can grab what I want and

Speaker:

I don't need to look at a price. That's a flex for me. That's

Speaker:

changing the narrative of my money mindset. Welcome

Speaker:

you to be the change that your bloodline has been waiting for. Join

Speaker:

Speaker:

ora and welcome to the Krystal Rowe Impact podcast. And

Speaker:

today I have my amazing husband TJ joining me as

Speaker:

we talk about overcoming financial trauma,

Speaker:

reprogramming our money program. So

Speaker:

my love, building a legacy of wealth is

Speaker:

one of our important goals in life. How

Speaker:

does that sit with you from how you used

Speaker:

to be to having this new money program and mindset and

Speaker:

I think, yeah, it is exciting. It

Speaker:

is exciting. Like coming from a background

Speaker:

of just living from week to week, hearing

Speaker:

the words like from my parents, like,

Speaker:

oh, we don't have enough money for this or that, or we're broke or

Speaker:

stuff like that, that sort of

Speaker:

led to the mindset of

Speaker:

we don't need money to be happy, and which is true, like

Speaker:

I 100% believe that to this day. But

Speaker:

having that security to

Speaker:

be able to feel your happiness is, I feel is

Speaker:

great. What I mean is, if

Speaker:

spending time with your children is your happiness, then

Speaker:

imagine being able to have your own business to be able to

Speaker:

step away from, to be able to spend more

Speaker:

You know what I mean? Yeah, I do. I think too, when

Speaker:

you say things like money

Speaker:

doesn't make you happy, like that's true, but money

Speaker:

also creates times that do

Speaker:

make you happy. You know, you said if spending

Speaker:

time with your children makes you happy, well, the bills still

Speaker:

need to be paid. And you know, the car needs petrol and

Speaker:

food needs to be purchased. So I think like the

Speaker:

whole retraining the money program and

Speaker:

understanding that money is actually units

Speaker:

of choice. So the more units that you have,

Speaker:

the more choice that you have. It's not necessarily about

Speaker:

creating X amount of zeros in your bank account.

Speaker:

It's more about having the amount of

Speaker:

choice and the opportunity. And I believe that

Speaker:

we've got to a point now where we

Speaker:

are slowly overcoming, identifying those

Speaker:

limiting beliefs around money. You know, one thing that we

Speaker:

don't say in our house or to each other, is that I'm broke.

Speaker:

We can't afford that. Our kids will come to us and

Speaker:

say, oh, dad, show us this note. And in our minds, we're

Speaker:

like, oh, God, what next? Because we've got eight of them. Eight of

Speaker:

them come in with, oh, I want to play this sport. It's going to be

Speaker:

$60. And my first thought is, we can't afford it. But I'm not

Speaker:

going to tell that child that we can't afford it, because that's going to That's

Speaker:

going to create limiting beliefs within them. So

Speaker:

we either say, yes, there's no problem, or we'll

Speaker:

come up with some other reason why we can't. We've

Speaker:

got the money, son, but we, you know, we're actually going away. We're

Speaker:

I think a lot of times too, I'm not quick

Speaker:

to say yes or no. I'm like, put that on my desk and

Speaker:

I'll look at it later. Like, I'm very mindful. about how

Speaker:

we respond because what our kids hear, like you said,

Speaker:

you know, you grew up with like, oh, how are we going to pay this bill

Speaker:

or I can't afford that or whatever the words were.

Speaker:

I remember, you know, like mum had a budget. She was very, very

Speaker:

good at budgeting and very precise on

Speaker:

what mattered to her. Like, I mean, we had

Speaker:

our own home and we had our own rooms

Speaker:

that were, you

Speaker:

know, the curtains matched the duvet and mum

Speaker:

prided herself in her home. So that's where she

Speaker:

spent her money. And that was very important,

Speaker:

but I knew that that was also a struggle. Like, you

Speaker:

know, growing up, I knew what a lay-by was. Like, we weren't

Speaker:

out here paying for things straight up. Like, you know, it was

Speaker:

allocating money here, there, which is great when you have

Speaker:

to do that. But I think where we're at now in

Speaker:

trying to overcome those financial barriers and

Speaker:

not let those be our children's reasons why they

Speaker:

don't do something. Yeah. why they don't ask

Speaker:

for something. I remember, and I remember a

Speaker:

lot of friends not asking to go on camp or play sports is

Speaker:

because they already knew the answer, you know, and

Speaker:

that's... That's trauma in itself because then when you grow

Speaker:

up, you don't want to ask for things. And then

Speaker:

once you become an adult, we don't

Speaker:

ask for help because the

Speaker:

answer's probably gonna be no. And I

Speaker:

think it's a really important thing for us. Now sometimes I'll pull you

Speaker:

up sometimes at home and be like, don't, that's a

Speaker:

limiting relief. Well, that's like a bad money program and

Speaker:

you're quick to retract. explain and communicate more

Speaker:

clearly to the kids, like, they understand that we have a

Speaker:

business and that we make money to be able to

Speaker:

create opportunities for connection and time.

Speaker:

And I think that's like a, you know, we're a work in progress as well,

Speaker:

obviously, but for me, being

Speaker:

aware that there was a financial trauma

Speaker:

and a poor money program has given me the

Speaker:

opportunity to not let

Speaker:

that be me anymore. And

Speaker:

it's not like... you know, I don't

Speaker:

care about money, but I do look at money as

Speaker:

units of choice, as opposed to dollar signs. So

Speaker:

the more money that I have, I can go to the supermarket, I

Speaker:

can grab what I want, and I don't need to look at a price. That's

Speaker:

a flex for me. That's changing the narrative

Speaker:

of my money mindset. It's me saying like, yes,

Speaker:

I can be mindful, but It's also having

Speaker:

that freedom too, to now know I've overridden the

Speaker:

fact that I can't afford it. I think that's like a

Speaker:

major thing for me and knowing that our kids get to grow

Speaker:

up. knowing that they can afford something instead

Speaker:

of they can't. That's already the change, that's already

Speaker:

shifting the generational wealth. Before

Speaker:

they get to think about what they want to do

Speaker:

for a job or a career, they already know that I can achieve,

Speaker:

I can go for that job, I can, because the

Speaker:

mindset over here of I can't afford

Speaker:

or I can't do that has been eliminated. I

Speaker:

I think too, facing your financial

Speaker:

traumas actually allows

Speaker:

you to tackle and get rid of them. They're

Speaker:

like barriers that step in, in your way

Speaker:

of progress. Like I remember when

Speaker:

I first started the Cuzzies Cafe, I

Speaker:

was approached to do a couple of like online platforms and

Speaker:

like deliveries and stuff, but they cost. And

Speaker:

back then it was like maybe $99. And I was like, no,

Speaker:

no, I can't do that. I had marketing people be

Speaker:

like, it's like, you know, $99 a month, and we'll post

Speaker:

this for you, we'll do this, and ultimately bring in

Speaker:

a lot more money. But I'd say no, I can't

Speaker:

afford that. I can't afford that. And there was this point in time,

Speaker:

I remember we had

Speaker:

the TV screen guy come in. And

Speaker:

I remember looking at the thing, it's like five grand for one screen. And

Speaker:

I'm like, just signed it. I didn't care because I

Speaker:

knew that we could put that say $99 a month

Speaker:

into our budget because I knew that it would grow. And

Speaker:

that was the difference between I think maybe two and a half years

Speaker:

from when I started to having that extremely poor

Speaker:

mindset of not knowing how

Speaker:

to pay for it to finding a way. I

Speaker:

think it's important as well to understand that when you overcome

Speaker:

your financial trauma, that you're overcoming your limiting

Speaker:

beliefs, that you're actually overcoming those barriers that

Speaker:

have been put in place that actually aren't necessarily real.

Speaker:

And that you have the power as well to actually change

Speaker:

the trajectory of how you move. Like

Speaker:

how you actually move not only yourself and

Speaker:

your business, but how the rest of your family moves.

Speaker:

Like as a collective, like now, like I said before, the

Speaker:

kids know that they can buy something. They can ask

Speaker:

for something. They don't, our kids don't hesitate to

Speaker:

ask for shit. or anything. They

Speaker:

expect because they have- And I love that too. Yeah. I love it. There's

Speaker:

no fear anymore with our kids and, you

Speaker:

know, by us overcoming that money program and

Speaker:

rewiring it and rewriting it to one

Speaker:

Just creating a good relationship with money too, I think, is

Speaker:

Yeah. Even though like one of the past episodes we just

Speaker:

had is I went through a stage of gambling.

Speaker:

So that's obviously a bad relationship with money. So I'm

Speaker:

sending out to the universe that I don't care about money. I'm just giving it to these machines

Speaker:

or whatever. And obviously I'm not going to get back

Speaker:

in return because the universe sees me as giving it

Speaker:

away. Yeah. So if you can give it

Speaker:

away and in a more healthy environment and

Speaker:

And that's a really good point, my love, is about when

Speaker:

you get these units of choice, what you're actually doing

Speaker:

with them. Like I've noticed, if I reflect

Speaker:

back recently, you know, say a

Speaker:

year ago when we've had like a surplus of funds,

Speaker:

what we've done with it, as opposed to now, how we're actually

Speaker:

really reinvesting into it. You know, we've invested

Speaker:

a significant amount into creating a Cuzzies franchise.

Speaker:

We've invested it into creating an online

Speaker:

presence via this podcast. We

Speaker:

invest back into ourselves and that in

Speaker:

itself is overcoming that trauma

Speaker:

and saying that that's not our way anymore. You

Speaker:

know, like we actually can see that we believe

Speaker:

in ourselves. So we've replaced those limiting beliefs with belief and

Speaker:

we're backing it with our finances. So that's a

Speaker:

So just to wrap it up, guys, if you have a bad relationship with

Speaker:

money, just know that you have the power within to

Speaker:

change that mindset around money. You've got little ones, you've got kids around

Speaker:

you. Just be who you want
