Speaker A

Well, let's jump in today's topic.

Speaker A

And before we.

Speaker A

I'll let you begin.

Speaker A

Rafiki.

Speaker A

I did want to read something.

Speaker B

Go ahead.

Speaker A

I've been a victim of selfish kind of love it's time that I realized that there are some with no home with not a nickel to loan could it be really me Pretending that they're not alone A willow deeply scared Somebody's broken heart and a washed out dream they follow the pattern of the wind, you see because they got no place to be that's why I'm starting with me.

Speaker A

Starting with the man in the mirror.

Speaker A

I'm asking him to change his ways.

Speaker A

And no message could ever be been any clearer.

Speaker A

If you want to make the world a better place Take a look at yourself, then make the change.

Speaker A

Do you know where that came from?

Speaker B

I don't know where exactly it came from, but it.

Speaker B

But that was a very good, powerful message right there.

Speaker A

Michael Jackson.

Speaker A

The great Michael Jackson.

Speaker A

RIP Mike.

Speaker A

That came straight from his song man in the Mirror.

Speaker B

Funny you said that, but we'll get into that later.

Speaker A

All right, so which is our topic of today?

Speaker A

Looking in the mirror.

Speaker A

Take it away, Mr. Rafiki.

Speaker B

I just want to start off with this right here.

Speaker B

A lot of people can't look themselves in the mirror.

Speaker B

And the reason why they can't look themselves in the mirrors.

Speaker B

Because they're afraid or they're ashamed of what they see.

Speaker B

They're afraid to go within.

Speaker B

And that's the reason why they struggle looking into the mirror.

Speaker B

The reason why I actually chose this topic is because that's what I'm going through right now.

Speaker B

I'm basically in that stage of finding who I am, trying to speak to my inner self, heal my inner self.

Speaker B

And a lot of people don't understand that.

Speaker B

That's where it's at.

Speaker B

You know, they want to judge the world, but they don't want to judge their self.

Speaker B

And I think that's what people need to start doing instead of judging other people by what they see.

Speaker B

Because you don't know truly what that other person may or may not be going through.

Speaker B

So change does start with self.

Speaker B

That's where it starts at.

Speaker B

And we have to get to the state where we can actually look into the mirror.

Speaker B

I'm not talking about looking in the mirror.

Speaker B

Just brush your hair, put on your makeup.

Speaker B

I ain't talking about that.

Speaker B

I'm talking about truly looking into that mirror and seeing what you see.

Speaker B

Look at them deep scars.

Speaker B

Speak to those deep scars.

Speaker B

Speak to those wounds.

Speaker B

Heal yourself.

Speaker A

Well, what.

Speaker A

What made you want to look in the mirror?

Speaker B

Because I wasn't happy with myself and I realized that I got.

Speaker B

Yeah, I'll go to the mirror, I fix myself up or whatever and get out of there.

Speaker B

But here lately, I've been going to that mirror and actually talking to myself.

Speaker B

Wait, you talk to yourself?

Speaker B

Yeah, I talk to myself.

Speaker B

I. I hear other voices, but those other voices to me is my ancestors speaking back to me.

Speaker B

They're encouraging me

Speaker A

mental.

Speaker A

Do you think it's important for somebody to be able to do this?

Speaker C

I think it is.

Speaker C

I think it's very important for everyone to do this.

Speaker A

How so?

Speaker A

Why so why?

Speaker C

Many reasons.

Speaker C

It's a part of, It's a part of, of.

Speaker C

Of knowing who you really are, what, what you are, right?

Speaker C

That, that, that self.

Speaker C

Self worth that you're finding out, you know, that, that

Speaker B

it's day.

Speaker B

Painted man.

Speaker C

It is man.

Speaker C

It is man.

Speaker A

So, so the why should somebody look in the mirror, learn to look in the mirror is what?

Speaker C

Knowing,

Speaker B

accepting who they are, no matter what they look like on the outside.

Speaker B

Because our outsiders just basically are our shell.

Speaker C

And also, you said it also healing.

Speaker C

I think that's.

Speaker C

I think that's a big.

Speaker C

I think that is one of the big key factors of why it's important to look in the mirror to heal.
