Speaker:

Welcome back to the Duo On Air podcast.

Speaker:

This is episode number 165.

Speaker:

And if you're running a service based business,

Speaker:

you've probably heard that video content is a,

Speaker:

must.

Speaker:

And this might make you cringe a little if you're

Speaker:

not a video person or you don't really like

Speaker:

showing your face.

Speaker:

But

Speaker:

what if we told you that the video that we're

Speaker:

talking about today isn't just for social media

Speaker:

reels or YouTube tutorials,

Speaker:

it's more internal for your business.

Speaker:

Internal facing videos.

Speaker:

Would you feel differently?

Speaker:

I'd be very curious.

Speaker:

because this can actually transform like things

Speaker:

like your client experience,

Speaker:

it can streamline your processes,

Speaker:

it can help build trust faster than your email

Speaker:

ever could.

Speaker:

So we're really gonna dive into

Speaker:

why

Speaker:

video is good and how you can use it internally

Speaker:

and not dance for Instagram.

Speaker:

Essentially because nobody really likes that

Speaker:

video.

Speaker:

There might be some people out there.

Speaker:

I,

Speaker:

I still like to put a wig on every once in a while

Speaker:

and dance and I like to do it with my business

Speaker:

partner but she forces me against my will,

Speaker:

has other feelings.

Speaker:

so today we're going to share creative ways to

Speaker:

integrate video into your service business.

Speaker:

Things from onboarding to education to client

Speaker:

communication and marketing.

Speaker:

Plus we're going to share some of our favorite

Speaker:

tools for making video creation simple and

Speaker:

effective and fun obviously.

Speaker:

so you can get started in working with video for

Speaker:

yourself internally.

Speaker:

and we're going to try to make it feel a little

Speaker:

less intimidating.

Speaker:

I'm not going to lie.

Speaker:

I,

Speaker:

I was like,

Speaker:

I feel more intimidated doing videos internally

Speaker:

than I think I did for like reels and stuff like

Speaker:

that.

Speaker:

But once you get into it and start doing it,

Speaker:

it is so,

Speaker:

easy and actually like so much more efficient and

Speaker:

kind of a fun way to like do different things.

Speaker:

Which we're going to break down those things later

Speaker:

in this episode.

Speaker:

But like it's really fun to incorporate video in

Speaker:

certain ways that just makes sense for your brand

Speaker:

and it could be a really great client experience

Speaker:

too.

Speaker:

so if you're curious also what our favorite tool

Speaker:

is,

Speaker:

it is Tella.

Speaker:

We're going to break down why.

Speaker:

and this is the go to tool for us and for good

Speaker:

reason.

Speaker:

And again we'll tell you a little bit more about

Speaker:

that later.

Speaker:

But we absolutely love this video platform.

Speaker:

We use it all the time in our business.

Speaker:

And the ideas that we're going to give you later

Speaker:

are some of the ideas that we've already

Speaker:

incorporated into our business using tele.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

And if you pop Back to episode 111,

Speaker:

you can hear a lot more about that tool.

Speaker:

We'll talk about it a little bit later.

Speaker:

But we love it mainly for its beautiful branding

Speaker:

opportunities.

Speaker:

So you gotta be able to brand it man.

Speaker:

Right?

Speaker:

Yep.

Speaker:

So why does video matter outside of YouTube,

Speaker:

outside of posting

Speaker:

something on Instagram reels?

Speaker:

We all know video matters from a marketing

Speaker:

standpoint,

Speaker:

but why does it matter for your service based

Speaker:

business and how to integrate it more outside of

Speaker:

just social media marketing?

Speaker:

So one of the big reasons as to why this is gonna

Speaker:

be a game changer for your entire client

Speaker:

experience is because it builds trust and it

Speaker:

creates a connection faster.

Speaker:

So I don't know about you,

Speaker:

but I don't love having client meetings every

Speaker:

single day.

Speaker:

It's just not something that I

Speaker:

enjoy.

Speaker:

I mean I think I would rather have,

Speaker:

I love having a feeling few client meetings.

Speaker:

And I think in the right spots of our process it

Speaker:

makes a lot of sense because I do love getting on

Speaker:

the phone with people and chatting through

Speaker:

different aspects of it.

Speaker:

But I also think it is super important to value

Speaker:

your clients time and your time and make sure that

Speaker:

you aren't performing on calls every second of

Speaker:

the day and you have a little bit of time back in

Speaker:

your business to do the things that you want to

Speaker:

do.

Speaker:

And flexibility.

Speaker:

Yeah,

Speaker:

I think the flexibility thing,

Speaker:

that's what I wanted to jump in and say is like

Speaker:

one of the best parts about it.

Speaker:

Because let's say I'm at the process in our

Speaker:

branding,

Speaker:

one of our branding services that I've already

Speaker:

done like the main big presentation.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

So then the next thing is just some me making

Speaker:

some tweaks or whatever

Speaker:

that doesn't need to be presented live.

Speaker:

And I don't need to write out like a super,

Speaker:

super lengthy email.

Speaker:

I can actually just record myself in my screen and

Speaker:

take the client through the changes that I did.

Speaker:

It's usually

Speaker:

a 10 minute or less video and shoot that over to

Speaker:

them.

Speaker:

It's more personable,

Speaker:

it's more relatable,

Speaker:

it's easier for them to maybe kind of follow along

Speaker:

and actually see what I did and why I did it.

Speaker:

And they can watch that video

Speaker:

whenever they want obviously within the timeline

Speaker:

that we've given them.

Speaker:

But if they want to watch it at midnight or if

Speaker:

they want to watch it at 5:30 in the morning,

Speaker:

they can do that.

Speaker:

It's not,

Speaker:

we're setting a time on the calendar and we're

Speaker:

blocking out this hour or half hour or whatever.

Speaker:

So I can record it whenever,

Speaker:

they can watch it whenever.

Speaker:

And that really allows for some really nice

Speaker:

flexibility within

Speaker:

the right part of our process.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And on,

Speaker:

that note,

Speaker:

another reason why we love video and why it makes

Speaker:

such a difference is because it makes complex

Speaker:

information easier to digest.

Speaker:

So we incorporate video throughout our entire

Speaker:

process.

Speaker:

Regardless of whether you're working with us on

Speaker:

brand,

Speaker:

website,

Speaker:

SEO doesn't matter.

Speaker:

We incorporate it into everything because again,

Speaker:

we don't have a client meeting every single time

Speaker:

we have a deliverable.

Speaker:

But one of the things for,

Speaker:

for our keyword research phase of the process,

Speaker:

I actually don't jump on the phone with clients

Speaker:

and walk them through their keyword research

Speaker:

findings.

Speaker:

I do a prerecorded video.

Speaker:

And our clients love this because it is complex

Speaker:

information.

Speaker:

They can pause,

Speaker:

they can rewind,

Speaker:

they can watch it.

Speaker:

Sometimes people say,

Speaker:

I watched that video four times.

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

I wanted to keep watching it.

Speaker:

They can share it with other members on their team

Speaker:

who are also involved in helping,

Speaker:

like someone who's your blog writer or your va,

Speaker:

and help them really understand,

Speaker:

understand the content.

Speaker:

And so,

Speaker:

that is one of the reasons why we don't share

Speaker:

keyword research live on a call.

Speaker:

Because it's complex information.

Speaker:

I want you to have a resource to always bounce

Speaker:

back to.

Speaker:

And then the next phase of walking through your

Speaker:

audit,

Speaker:

we'll do that together on a call.

Speaker:

So that's a really amazing part where video makes

Speaker:

a huge difference.

Speaker:

And if I just emailed over that information with a

Speaker:

PDF,

Speaker:

you better bet that's going to be so confusing.

Speaker:

Oh,

Speaker:

right.

Speaker:

And like,

Speaker:

who wants to read all of that?

Speaker:

Right?

Speaker:

And where's the personality?

Speaker:

Exactly.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

So you can still have fun with it and share

Speaker:

thoughts and be yourself.

Speaker:

And I mean,

Speaker:

I am not.

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

I don't join those calls and have my hair done and

Speaker:

my makeup done.

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

I am sitting down sometimes in my sweatpants

Speaker:

sometimes right after I laid my kids down for bed.

Speaker:

Because that's the only quiet moment I have that

Speaker:

day to record a video for the client.

Speaker:

And they get that.

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

they know because they're also in that world.

Speaker:

So they understand that that's.

Speaker:

That's okay.

Speaker:

We just show up when we can and in our best self,

Speaker:

you know,

Speaker:

unapologetically.

Speaker:

Unapologetically,

Speaker:

yes.

Speaker:

It's going to enhance that client experience

Speaker:

because again,

Speaker:

you are making very conscious decisions where

Speaker:

you're putting video and where you're putting live

Speaker:

connections.

Speaker:

So that's going to help create the best client

Speaker:

experience that's also not going to Take too much

Speaker:

of their time,

Speaker:

and then finally it saves you time.

Speaker:

So again,

Speaker:

thinking back to having to have meetings at

Speaker:

certain times of the day,

Speaker:

can one,

Speaker:

like,

Speaker:

really affect your creativity and your process

Speaker:

throughout the day.

Speaker:

But two,

Speaker:

it can also just take more time to have a phone

Speaker:

call than it could to relay the information

Speaker:

simply in a video.

Speaker:

So we're gonna walk through a bunch of different

Speaker:

creative ways to use video in your business.

Speaker:

So if you're sitting here wondering,

Speaker:

like,

Speaker:

okay,

Speaker:

I don't have the same type of business as you,

Speaker:

so I'm not quite sure how I would incorporate it.

Speaker:

So we're gonna run through a bunch of examples,

Speaker:

some that we

Speaker:

use and some that we don't,

Speaker:

and some that have given us ideas.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

That have given us,

Speaker:

like,

Speaker:

these super fun ide.

Speaker:

How to incorporate or how to enhance our

Speaker:

experience.

Speaker:

And I think we have 14 of these.

Speaker:

When she says a list,

Speaker:

I wanted to be like,

Speaker:

only

Speaker:

14.

Speaker:

I could have made it longer.

Speaker:

I had to cut myself off.

Speaker:

So let's start with number one.

Speaker:

So welcome and onboarding videos so you can create

Speaker:

a friendly welcome video for your new clients.

Speaker:

Introduce yourself,

Speaker:

set expectations set.

Speaker:

So think of that first email that goes over.

Speaker:

I think this is something that could be really fun

Speaker:

for us to start incorporating because we have a

Speaker:

team.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

and we can have,

Speaker:

like,

Speaker:

little throwing confetti bursts and like,

Speaker:

you can really bring some fun brand personality

Speaker:

into it.

Speaker:

The fun thing about what we can do with Tela 2 is

Speaker:

we can clip together these videos so we can create

Speaker:

a full team video.

Speaker:

Everyone can be like,

Speaker:

hi,

Speaker:

I'm so and so.

Speaker:

And this is what I do on your brand.

Speaker:

And I'm so excited to meet you.

Speaker:

And my favorite thing to drink is this.

Speaker:

And then they can,

Speaker:

like,

Speaker:

do a cheers to the screen and it can transition to

Speaker:

the next person.

Speaker:

There you go.

Speaker:

We're.

Speaker:

So we will absolutely be incorporating this into

Speaker:

our process.

Speaker:

It's.

Speaker:

We do a welcome to the team email and we introduce

Speaker:

everyone and join everyone on there.

Speaker:

But it's just such a fun extra nugget to have

Speaker:

this,

Speaker:

like,

Speaker:

welcome moment where you're like,

Speaker:

meet the team.

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

this is everyone.

Speaker:

We're more than just an email address and a face

Speaker:

on your computer.

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

we are so excited to work with you.

Speaker:

Yeah,

Speaker:

it just like,

Speaker:

makes an emotional connection and,

Speaker:

like,

Speaker:

really exciting way to kick everything off.

Speaker:

Okay,

Speaker:

so the second one is client proposals and project

Speaker:

pitches.

Speaker:

So things like walking potential clients through

Speaker:

your proposal,

Speaker:

explaining your strategy,

Speaker:

showing examples of your work.

Speaker:

you can position options in A different light.

Speaker:

So like choose your adventure versus pick your

Speaker:

package kind of thing so you can make it really

Speaker:

kind of fun on how they go throughout that process

Speaker:

and then just again showing them just different

Speaker:

things within your process and like what they can

Speaker:

expect.

Speaker:

showing examples of your work that could be like

Speaker:

something that we could do with like our branding

Speaker:

portfolio and stuff like that or results that

Speaker:

we've had for SEO clients.

Speaker:

So again,

Speaker:

just showing that process what they can expect out

Speaker:

of it.

Speaker:

Explaining you know,

Speaker:

how your proposal works and all of that stuff

Speaker:

really just kind of helps them take them through

Speaker:

that process.

Speaker:

It could also help answer any questions that they

Speaker:

might have.

Speaker:

So like they might have questions and that video

Speaker:

could answer that before they even get to the

Speaker:

point of having to ask that question.

Speaker:

I do this a lot for SEO actually before a client

Speaker:

is a client.

Speaker:

I.

Speaker:

And they're very informal.

Speaker:

They aren't like over the top like these pre

Speaker:

planned meetings or videos that are answering

Speaker:

questions.

Speaker:

It's very informal where they might say,

Speaker:

what did you show me again on that video to.

Speaker:

On,

Speaker:

that tool that you were using,

Speaker:

like what did it say about my SEO?

Speaker:

Like can you walk me through what you were seeing

Speaker:

one more time?

Speaker:

I just kind of forgot and wanted to know like what

Speaker:

you're gonna do for me.

Speaker:

So I just like quickly pull up Tela,

Speaker:

I pop over to our tool that we use for SEO SEMrush

Speaker:

and I say here's what I'm seeing for your website,

Speaker:

here's what I'm seeing for traffic,

Speaker:

here's what I'm seeing for keywords,

Speaker:

and this is where I think we can approve.

Speaker:

And it's a quick two,

Speaker:

three minute video and send it off.

Speaker:

And it one,

Speaker:

saves me time because to write all of that out and

Speaker:

explain what I'm seeing and why I'm seeing can be

Speaker:

a lot more complicated than it needs to be.

Speaker:

Remove the complications.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And two,

Speaker:

it gives someone a behind the scenes look at our

Speaker:

system and what we use and how we think.

Speaker:

And it's just again,

Speaker:

we approach everything like we're sitting down

Speaker:

with someone for a cup of coffee.

Speaker:

And like that's how I want to approach our

Speaker:

videos.

Speaker:

And it also kind of shows that you're the expert,

Speaker:

like you know what you're doing.

Speaker:

Like here I am behind the scenes.

Speaker:

This is actually what I do.

Speaker:

And you're not hiding anything.

Speaker:

Like a lot of people like to hide things because

Speaker:

they're like,

Speaker:

well if I show them this,

Speaker:

they're not going to hire Me because then they're

Speaker:

going to go figure it out themselves or something

Speaker:

like that.

Speaker:

So we're also kind of an open book and like we

Speaker:

aren't afraid to like share those things.

Speaker:

I am always baffled when we get on inquiry calls

Speaker:

and people are asking about SEO.

Speaker:

Abby's always got a sidebar pulled up and she's

Speaker:

already looking at like their SEO performance and

Speaker:

she will just like on the inquiry call be like,

Speaker:

okay,

Speaker:

well it looks like you're getting traffic.

Speaker:

This is like the best performing blog that you

Speaker:

have.

Speaker:

People are coming in from here.

Speaker:

She's like already sharing information about their

Speaker:

SEO and she does not have to,

Speaker:

she does not have to be that kind hearted soul

Speaker:

that's already jumping in and like letting them

Speaker:

know kind of where they sit with their SEO.

Speaker:

And I think a lot of clients,

Speaker:

like that's what gets them too.

Speaker:

They're like,

Speaker:

wow,

Speaker:

they're not afraid to like sit here and show us or

Speaker:

answer with a video and like explain what's going

Speaker:

on.

Speaker:

And again,

Speaker:

we've always like hung our hat on not being

Speaker:

jargony.

Speaker:

And so I think these videos also help that like

Speaker:

we're breaking it down,

Speaker:

very simple and showing you what we're doing.

Speaker:

Yeah,

Speaker:

absolutely.

Speaker:

So the third one is educational content hubs or

Speaker:

tutorials.

Speaker:

So whether you're coaching,

Speaker:

consulting,

Speaker:

you provide a service like we do with SEO

Speaker:

branding,

Speaker:

you can create these short little educational

Speaker:

video hubs to help answer questions,

Speaker:

explain processes for us.

Speaker:

We use these more for people who are already

Speaker:

clients or already like students within SEO on

Speaker:

tap,

Speaker:

for example.

Speaker:

So we have a whole arsenal of tools.

Speaker:

One is like a full folder of Google Tools

Speaker:

tutorials.

Speaker:

So it shows you how to set up Google Analytics,

Speaker:

how to understand Google Analytics,

Speaker:

what are those crazy errors in Google Search

Speaker:

Console mean?

Speaker:

all those kind of things.

Speaker:

We also have,

Speaker:

we are revamping right now our website tutorials.

Speaker:

So how to update X,

Speaker:

Y and Z on your website on this platform.

Speaker:

So we are really platform agnostic when it comes

Speaker:

to SEO.

Speaker:

So we do tutorials on every platform.

Speaker:

And so when we choose to update these,

Speaker:

which is this year,

Speaker:

because platforms change,

Speaker:

things look different.

Speaker:

We want them to be fresh and relevant.

Speaker:

It's a beast.

Speaker:

But these are two to three minute videos that show

Speaker:

you how to update your SEO title,

Speaker:

how to change your alt text,

Speaker:

how to write a blog,

Speaker:

how to optimize your blog on all the platforms.

Speaker:

So Wix,

Speaker:

Squarespace,

Speaker:

WordPress.

Speaker:

We actually got even deeper with WordPress and

Speaker:

we're doing themes under WordPress we have

Speaker:

WordPress with the divi theme,

Speaker:

WordPress with the kadence theme,

Speaker:

WordPress with Elementor,

Speaker:

and then we have WordPress with Yoast and

Speaker:

WordPress with rank math,

Speaker:

and then we have Squarespace and we have like

Speaker:

literally all of them.

Speaker:

And every platform has all these tutorials,

Speaker:

how to update your SEO titles,

Speaker:

how to update your meta description.

Speaker:

So it is,

Speaker:

so it is such a nice resource to have because

Speaker:

it empowers our clients and our students to take

Speaker:

action or just know that they have the resources

Speaker:

available in the future,

Speaker:

maybe when we're not working together to make

Speaker:

those updates.

Speaker:

And then we did a video too for how to create a,

Speaker:

Pinterest board for,

Speaker:

500 00:15:00,924 --> 00:15:01,380 Yep,

Speaker:

yep.

Speaker:

Because sometimes people like,

Speaker:

we can't assume that everybody uses Pinterest or

Speaker:

that Pinterest is an easy tool to use.

Speaker:

We're in it all the time,

Speaker:

so obviously it's easy for us.

Speaker:

But when we want them to make a brand board and

Speaker:

pin all their inspiration,

Speaker:

we just quickly show them,

Speaker:

like,

Speaker:

how to,

Speaker:

you know,

Speaker:

how to navigate Pinterest,

Speaker:

how to search for things,

Speaker:

how to save them.

Speaker:

And then particularly,

Speaker:

I think the biggest thing is leaving notes on

Speaker:

pins.

Speaker:

That's where people get confused because sometimes

Speaker:

you can comment on a pin,

Speaker:

but you can also leave a note on a pin.

Speaker:

And they're very different things.

Speaker:

If you comment on a pin,

Speaker:

that means anybody can see it.

Speaker:

The pin creator sees it.

Speaker:

Yeah,

Speaker:

the pin creator.

Speaker:

They're like,

Speaker:

oh my gosh,

Speaker:

thanks.

Speaker:

This is,

Speaker:

I love that,

Speaker:

like,

Speaker:

want to work together.

Speaker:

And we're kind of like,

Speaker:

I,

Speaker:

I don't like this logo,

Speaker:

but I do like those colors.

Speaker:

And the creators like,

Speaker:

oh,

Speaker:

sad day.

Speaker:

So,

Speaker:

yeah,

Speaker:

leaving comments and notes on pins is very

Speaker:

different.

Speaker:

So we wanted to make sure that that was very clear

Speaker:

for our clients that sign with us for branding is

Speaker:

that they know how to do that.

Speaker:

So the notes are only internal.

Speaker:

Like we only see those,

Speaker:

as duo.

Speaker:

And they only see them on their end.

Speaker:

So,

Speaker:

the fourth one,

Speaker:

I love this one.

Speaker:

Celebration videos.

Speaker:

So thinking of like sending a celebratory video

Speaker:

when a client hits a certain milestone,

Speaker:

like finishing a project,

Speaker:

reaching a goal,

Speaker:

launching something new,

Speaker:

like,

Speaker:

this is so fun and so unexpected.

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

I would be thrilled if somebody like sent me a

Speaker:

video and they're like,

Speaker:

congratulations on X,

Speaker:

Y and Z.

Speaker:

it's just so personable.

Speaker:

It shows that you're there,

Speaker:

you're thinking of them,

Speaker:

you're following along,

Speaker:

you're invested in their business and what they're

Speaker:

doing.

Speaker:

And it's just like a fun little pick me up.

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

I think we need to celebrate people more often.

Speaker:

And like Abby and I have talked about this in the

Speaker:

past.

Speaker:

Like we're not even great at celebrating

Speaker:

milestones in our own business.

Speaker:

I'm gonna start selling,

Speaker:

say,

Speaker:

sending you celebration videos.

Speaker:

Oh,

Speaker:

that's cute.

Speaker:

It's adorable.

Speaker:

Well then I have to do that for you.

Speaker:

No,

Speaker:

you don't.

Speaker:

I actually know of a client that we're gonna.

Speaker:

Right after this,

Speaker:

we're gonna send a celebratory video to her

Speaker:

because I know,

Speaker:

I think you probably.

Speaker:

She's had a big thing just happen in her life.

Speaker:

She deserves a video.

Speaker:

So we're gonna do it.

Speaker:

So,

Speaker:

just like things like this really,

Speaker:

602 00:17:08,564 --> 00:17:11,580 take your client connection to that next level.

Speaker:

They feel seen,

Speaker:

they feel heard,

Speaker:

they feel valued.

Speaker:

And it's just you being like the best cheerleader

Speaker:

you can for your clients.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

I love it.

Speaker:

Me too.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

Fifth course creation.

Speaker:

We have talked about this a lot.

Speaker:

Whenever we talk about our course launch,

Speaker:

we have an episode.

Speaker:

If you go all the way back to 112.

Speaker:

112.

Speaker:

We talk about five things that made our course

Speaker:

launch a success.

Speaker:

And this was last year,

Speaker:

right when we revamped SEO on tap.

Speaker:

And that still was one of our biggest launches.

Speaker:

And we've been following that kind of like

Speaker:

approach and pattern and everything.

Speaker:

And maybe we'll share more about how things have

Speaker:

evolved this year as well.

Speaker:

And we talk about one of the reasons why the

Speaker:

course was so successful is because of the how

Speaker:

it's created.

Speaker:

And

Speaker:

I think you can run your course on any platform

Speaker:

and make it beautiful.

Speaker:

And that is the amazing thing about Tela is that

Speaker:

we were able to brand it.

Speaker:

We had so like,

Speaker:

just to give you some fun little nuggets of things

Speaker:

we were able to do is you can have a background.

Speaker:

So like if it's just court and I talking,

Speaker:

we have sometimes like our gradient background

Speaker:

behind us or we have our fun little wave of our

Speaker:

brand at the bottom of the video.

Speaker:

So it's like a frame that we were able to add in.

Speaker:

And the cool thing is you're able to do all of

Speaker:

this post recording.

Speaker:

So you can record the video and then brand it

Speaker:

afterwards.

Speaker:

It's so amazing.

Speaker:

Which is amazing.

Speaker:

I love it.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

So that was really awesome is that it made us not

Speaker:

just like sitting here sharing our slides.

Speaker:

Because I know you can do that in Canva.

Speaker:

I know you can share your slides and record it and

Speaker:

that's really fun.

Speaker:

But it was really fun to just add a little extra

Speaker:

fun elements to it post production.

Speaker:

And,

Speaker:

and it's really easy to use too.

Speaker:

Where I feel like when you say Canva,

Speaker:

kind of like my heart stops a little bit.

Speaker:

I'm like,

Speaker:

oh,

Speaker:

that's a little clunky.

Speaker:

You know,

Speaker:

Canva does so much that like,

Speaker:

they don't fine tune the process.

Speaker:

Whereas,

Speaker:

like Tela is this platform,

Speaker:

this is what they specialize in.

Speaker:

So like,

Speaker:

it's very easy,

Speaker:

not as clunky,

Speaker:

simple to use once you get in it.

Speaker:

And the branding element is just like the chef's

Speaker:

kiss.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

Okay,

Speaker:

so the next one,

Speaker:

number six.

Speaker:

Almost halfway there,

Speaker:

y'all.

Speaker:

y'all,

Speaker:

like,

Speaker:

I'm Southern,

Speaker:

y'all.

Speaker:

very,

Speaker:

very not southern.

Speaker:

Oh,

Speaker:

okay.

Speaker:

Oh,

Speaker:

there we go.

Speaker:

behind the scenes video tours.

Speaker:

So things of like,

Speaker:

what your client can expect when you guys start to

Speaker:

work together or the process or,

Speaker:

how you set up your timeline or when they can

Speaker:

expect,

Speaker:

you know,

Speaker:

other video tutorials,

Speaker:

things like that.

Speaker:

this could live on your investment page,

Speaker:

like if you have an investment page that you send

Speaker:

out to new inquiries,

Speaker:

or it can be in your inquiry workflow flows.

Speaker:

It could also be something like a day in the life

Speaker:

of working with you,

Speaker:

which I think is so cute.

Speaker:

Like if I was going to sign up for a service that

Speaker:

I was spending a decent amount of money on,

Speaker:

I would love to see like some behind the scenes of

Speaker:

like,

Speaker:

okay,

Speaker:

this is how we kick things off and this is what

Speaker:

you can expect at this time.

Speaker:

And

Speaker:

you know,

Speaker:

this is how our tools work or our process or this

Speaker:

is what we need you to sign up for.

Speaker:

Like sometimes,

Speaker:

you know,

Speaker:

we have things like we have voxer access with our

Speaker:

clients sometimes.

Speaker:

So if they don't have that,

Speaker:

you know,

Speaker:

this could be a part of that,

Speaker:

like behind the scenes.

Speaker:

Like this is how you use Voxer or stuff like that.

Speaker:

So,

Speaker:

really just kind of showing

Speaker:

how they're going to work with you and a little

Speaker:

snippet into behind the scenes of how you as a

Speaker:

business work.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And if you have.

Speaker:

So when someone inquires with us,

Speaker:

we have a few follow ups that they get.

Speaker:

Like here at this year calendar,

Speaker:

day before reminder,

Speaker:

an hour before reminder,

Speaker:

and then we hop on the call.

Speaker:

So what if the day before reminder you added a

Speaker:

little email

Speaker:

and a video into your email that included what

Speaker:

it's like to work on this project with me.

Speaker:

And you could be very specific about some

Speaker:

questions that people typically ask on inquiry

Speaker:

calls to help Them visually,

Speaker:

like walk through the process with you and you can

Speaker:

answer some questions so that you get them closer

Speaker:

to a heck yes when they get on that inquiry call

Speaker:

with you and you're sending off that person

Speaker:

proposal.

Speaker:

So it can just be a really easy way to make a

Speaker:

strong

Speaker:

yes at the end of the day.

Speaker:

I love it.

Speaker:

So next are,

Speaker:

and we talked about this a little bit.

Speaker:

Number seven is project Reveal videos.

Speaker:

So this is what we do a lot in our process already

Speaker:

is instead of just sending over a PDF or static

Speaker:

files when it comes to branding or SEO,

Speaker:

we always create a little video where,

Speaker:

where we walk through the project

Speaker:

so we might share what we've done so far.

Speaker:

Share a little,

Speaker:

I want to say markup,

Speaker:

but markup I think we're switching away from so a

Speaker:

little tool to show them how to leave feedback on

Speaker:

that project,

Speaker:

what next steps are.

Speaker:

774 00:22:07,344 --> 00:22:10,696 just any insights that might not be.

Speaker:

You might not easily understand that just by

Speaker:

looking at a PDF.

Speaker:

So I think this is so true when it comes to

Speaker:

branding because

Speaker:

there's so much behind it.

Speaker:

I love the feedback I get from the videos because

Speaker:

people,

Speaker:

I explain exactly why we chose,

Speaker:

why we like what we chose,

Speaker:

why we did it,

Speaker:

and I really break it down.

Speaker:

We have notes that are like as a part of the

Speaker:

presentation,

Speaker:

but those notes don't always really explain the

Speaker:

depth of why decisions were made.

Speaker:

And so walking clients through mood boards or

Speaker:

whatever it might be in a video is so much

Speaker:

more in depth than what that PDF would ever give

Speaker:

them.

Speaker:

And I get a lot of clients that are like,

Speaker:

oh my gosh,

Speaker:

when you were explaining this about the mood

Speaker:

board,

Speaker:

like that hit so close to home and like that's

Speaker:

what I want.

Speaker:

And so just them hearing the words coming out of

Speaker:

my mouth and taking them through that process is

Speaker:

so much stronger than any PDF that they opened

Speaker:

because they're then they're left to kind of

Speaker:

interpret it on their own.

Speaker:

And I want them to see it from my lens and why I

Speaker:

did what I did.

Speaker:

And sometimes this can be a fun little way to

Speaker:

prompt feedback reminders.

Speaker:

Cuz you can see oftentimes when our clients watch

Speaker:

a video.

Speaker:

Oh yeah.

Speaker:

So that can be a good way to stay on track too

Speaker:

where you can be like,

Speaker:

hey,

Speaker:

I noticed you haven't watched the video yet.

Speaker:

Like take,

Speaker:

you know,

Speaker:

we always put underneath the video the amount of

Speaker:

time the video is.

Speaker:

So like if I send a video for keyword research,

Speaker:

it's usually like 20,

Speaker:

30 minutes.

Speaker:

So I usually say like 20,

Speaker:

30 minutes.

Speaker:

So they know how much time they have to invest

Speaker:

into watching that video.

Speaker:

and I think sometimes when they're like quick

Speaker:

feedback things,

Speaker:

they can be less keyword,

Speaker:

831 00:23:50,826 --> 00:23:52,618 research tends to be a little bit heavier.

Speaker:

But then we'll encourage,

Speaker:

you know,

Speaker:

watch it on two times the speed.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

however you like to consider.

Speaker:

I don't talk fast enough.

Speaker:

Yes,

Speaker:

speed it up.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

so the next one is micro training series.

Speaker:

So if webinars aren't necessarily your jam,

Speaker:

you could try something like a pre recorded video

Speaker:

training.

Speaker:

this is a perfect way to like make educational

Speaker:

content,

Speaker:

things that you might want to sell even.

Speaker:

Or if it's a free training,

Speaker:

you know,

Speaker:

you can obviously pitch whatever you're selling at

Speaker:

the very,

Speaker:

very end.

Speaker:

But if you are like terrified,

Speaker:

sweaty palms don't want to do a live webinar,

Speaker:

which I don't blame you.

Speaker:

That's a very ballsy thing to do.

Speaker:

I was very terrified the first time we did one.

Speaker:

I'm nervous every time.

Speaker:

You're nervous every time.

Speaker:

You don't sound like it.

Speaker:

But like,

Speaker:

the more you do it,

Speaker:

the easier it gets,

Speaker:

obviously the nerves.

Speaker:

Unless if you have like way more people sign up

Speaker:

than you ever anticipated and then you're like,

Speaker:

holy shit.

Speaker:

But I mean,

Speaker:

they're still very fun to do.

Speaker:

But if you are like sweaty palms,

Speaker:

hearts racing,

Speaker:

I don't want to do a live webinar.

Speaker:

You can do a pre recorded training and have that

Speaker:

live on your website or be a part of your

Speaker:

newsletter or whatever it might be.

Speaker:

And then again at the end you could pitch

Speaker:

something if it's not something that they have to

Speaker:

pay for.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And I have to say I am sweaty palms,

Speaker:

heart racing beforehand as well.

Speaker:

But I'm still gonna do it because it's like the

Speaker:

excited kind of anxiety.

Speaker:

It's like a different kind.

Speaker:

It's like it's like you're getting up on stage now

Speaker:

doing a presentation or something.

Speaker:

It's something that pushes you out of the comfort

Speaker:

zone,

Speaker:

reminds you that you're alive,

Speaker:

like you're doing something fun,

Speaker:

you know,

Speaker:

so it's like a fun kind of stress.

Speaker:

But yeah,

Speaker:

I'm still,

Speaker:

I'm always like.

Speaker:

I think one time I was like doing jumping jacks

Speaker:

like to like get my.

Speaker:

I was not here for that.

Speaker:

I was like,

Speaker:

I feel like we need to like jump it out or like,

Speaker:

oh,

Speaker:

maybe.

Speaker:

Yeah,

Speaker:

we're just gonna like wiggled a little bit.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Also I,

Speaker:

I also have been told if like,

Speaker:

like before things like that stand in the Superman

Speaker:

pose.

Speaker:

This is just a little tip for you.

Speaker:

Stand in the Superman pose.

Speaker:

So like you puff your chest out,

Speaker:

you put your hands on your hips and you.

Speaker:

It's just a very

Speaker:

strong authoritative stance and it makes you feel

Speaker:

so much more confident going into it.

Speaker:

That sounds ridiculous,

Speaker:

but it works.

Speaker:

So I've made Abby stand in the super woman.

Speaker:

Yeah,

Speaker:

I'm always too very focused on making sure that I

Speaker:

feel I look as confident as I want to feel.

Speaker:

Feel.

Speaker:

So like sometimes that might mean like you're

Speaker:

putting heels on.

Speaker:

Like you're gonna put heels on even though no

Speaker:

one's gonna see your feet because that's how you

Speaker:

feel most confident.

Speaker:

And like you just have to dress for the

Speaker:

confidence.

Speaker:

So this goes same same thing.

Speaker:

Like if you feel that way about even recording a

Speaker:

video of yourself,

Speaker:

then dress up.

Speaker:

Like do what you have to do to make you feel

Speaker:

confident.

Speaker:

Yeah,

Speaker:

do something.

Speaker:

especially at the beginning.

Speaker:

Because the beginning of recording videos and

Speaker:

content can be hard.

Speaker:

Especially if you're like going through a whole

Speaker:

course or something like that.

Speaker:

Yes,

Speaker:

exactly.

Speaker:

So the next one can be video testimonials or case

Speaker:

studies.

Speaker:

So creating these fun videos that can feature your

Speaker:

clients success stories showing before and afters.

Speaker:

And this is another reason why we really love

Speaker:

tela,

Speaker:

because we can ask,

Speaker:

and we've done this before,

Speaker:

we can ask our clients to create all of these

Speaker:

different videos.

Speaker:

You can upload those videos into TELA and create

Speaker:

like one combined video that like showcases the

Speaker:

story.

Speaker:

So the client can come in with their testimonial

Speaker:

and then you can come in after them and share the

Speaker:

results on your screen and then another client can

Speaker:

come in and then you can share the results.

Speaker:

So like you can kind of do this like,

Speaker:

or vice versa,

Speaker:

flip it around,

Speaker:

you share the results and then they share their

Speaker:

testimonial.

Speaker:

But it can be really fun to put that on your sales

Speaker:

page and kind of have like this experience.

Speaker:

You can also do side by side kind of designs

Speaker:

Intellitu.

Speaker:

So you can have them talking on the left about the

Speaker:

testimonial and on the right you could do a

Speaker:

screenshot of their results.

Speaker:

So it can be fun to play around with the design

Speaker:

aspect of these videos and use them to sell your

Speaker:

products and pitch your stuff.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

So the next one is a video effect FAQ page.

Speaker:

So instead of like some of our FAQs can get really

Speaker:

long.

Speaker:

A lot of people have a lot of questions about

Speaker:

particular things.

Speaker:

I've been to FAQ pages where you just scroll and

Speaker:

scroll and scroll.

Speaker:

Which,

Speaker:

that's great from an SEO perspective.

Speaker:

I know Abby's gonna jump in and say that.

Speaker:

But instead of a heavy text based faq,

Speaker:

you could also create a page filled with short

Speaker:

videos answering common questions.

Speaker:

Or let's say,

Speaker:

because again,

Speaker:

from an SEO perspective,

Speaker:

Abby loves the FAQs on page because they're

Speaker:

usually full of keywords.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

And it's good content.

Speaker:

Literally the question someone is typing into

Speaker:

Google.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

So it's great from an SEO and keyword perspective,

Speaker:

but let's say you take like,

Speaker:

I don't know,

Speaker:

your top three or something and make videos out of

Speaker:

them and then you have text for the rest.

Speaker:

Or maybe Abby's like,

Speaker:

courtney,

Speaker:

that's a dumb idea.

Speaker:

But

Speaker:

it's a good,

Speaker:

it's a good idea.

Speaker:

I think you do,

Speaker:

like,

Speaker:

Google loves to show videos too,

Speaker:

especially if they're on YouTube.

Speaker:

So,

Speaker:

like,

Speaker:

this is something too where you can like put an

Speaker:

answer on YouTube and you can have your question

Speaker:

as a headline and then a short description under

Speaker:

it and then the video.

Speaker:

So you're giving people multiple ways.

Speaker:

It's like you can read the answer or you can just

Speaker:

share the faq and that video could get featured in

Speaker:

Google.

Speaker:

So that video could actually be a driver for you

Speaker:

too.

Speaker:

And I'd say it kind of depends on the faq.

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

is this FAQ for SEO purposes or is it more of an

Speaker:

FAQ to,

Speaker:

help my audience feel really comfortable and

Speaker:

solid about what they're purchasing?

Speaker:

And it really doesn't have an SEO driver to it.

Speaker:

Think through,

Speaker:

like,

Speaker:

the purpose of it and what it's doing for you.

Speaker:

That's smart.

Speaker:

next are video office hours.

Speaker:

So you could take a different approach to doing

Speaker:

like a live Q and A session where you can actually

Speaker:

capture all the video content and the questions

Speaker:

beforehand.

Speaker:

So gather all the questions from your audience.

Speaker:

So this could be for a specific launch.

Speaker:

This could just be about your products and

Speaker:

services.

Speaker:

It could be like a fun little email you send out

Speaker:

to your list of like,

Speaker:

hey,

Speaker:

I'm answering all your questions in this.

Speaker:

And this,

Speaker:

can be fun too.

Speaker:

Like we do things like this on the podcast.

Speaker:

But it can also be fun if you don't have a podcast

Speaker:

yet,

Speaker:

but you want to do kind of like a live Q A series

Speaker:

for your email list.

Speaker:

Or the cool thing about Teletoo is you can po.

Speaker:

You can change the orientation.

Speaker:

I love that post recording.

Speaker:

So if you want that video to go to your email list

Speaker:

and it's a horizontal video,

Speaker:

but then you Also want to share snippets of it as

Speaker:

a reel.

Speaker:

You can change the size of it,

Speaker:

make it vertical,

Speaker:

and then share it as a reel too,

Speaker:

which is amazing.

Speaker:

So you don't have to like record twice.

Speaker:

Multi purpose.

Speaker:

Love it.

Speaker:

we're on to number 12.

Speaker:

We're almost there,

Speaker:

guys.

Speaker:

create a start here video hub.

Speaker:

So,

Speaker:

I can let Abby talk a little bit more about the

Speaker:

one that we have.

Speaker:

But we have one for our new members,

Speaker:

Insider SEO membership.

Speaker:

But what's great about this is that if somebody's

Speaker:

coming into a community or something and there's

Speaker:

multiple different like layers to it,

Speaker:

or you're showing them around a platform on how to

Speaker:

use that because they're in the community now.

Speaker:

This is a really great way to like start here.

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

you know when you land on sites and they have

Speaker:

little bot that's constantly moving around like

Speaker:

you're new to it and they're like,

Speaker:

okay,

Speaker:

you can do this over here or you can do this over

Speaker:

here,

Speaker:

you can do that over here.

Speaker:

And most of the times I'm just like,

Speaker:

yeah,

Speaker:

close out.

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

I'll figure it out later.

Speaker:

But this is kind of what that Start here video is

Speaker:

about for.

Speaker:

And this is great for community or for

Speaker:

memberships,

Speaker:

because again,

Speaker:

the platform could have multiple different layers

Speaker:

to it and you want to show them in a video how

Speaker:

they can use the different sections of that

Speaker:

community or that membership.

Speaker:

Yeah,

Speaker:

so our group coaching community and membership is

Speaker:

specifically for people who offer SEO as a

Speaker:

service.

Speaker:

So,

Speaker:

it's marketing,

Speaker:

1119 00:31:40,332 --> 00:31:40,972 agencies,

Speaker:

it's web designers,

Speaker:

copywriters,

Speaker:

it's other SEO strategists,

Speaker:

and it's people who are students or clients of

Speaker:

ours.

Speaker:

So you have to have some form of education for us

Speaker:

before getting invited to this membership.

Speaker:

So we are a very close knit group of people.

Speaker:

I think there's like 25amazing humans inside,

Speaker:

which is awesome.

Speaker:

And we love it that way and we love just to be

Speaker:

support for them.

Speaker:

And so the very first thing is once you join and

Speaker:

once you've gotten your exclusive invite and

Speaker:

you've joined us inside the membership,

Speaker:

we send you an email

Speaker:

that has all the information.

Speaker:

So it says

Speaker:

literally start here.

Speaker:

You click on it and it's a little video of me,

Speaker:

me walking you through the,

Speaker:

what the membership community is where,

Speaker:

how everything is organized,

Speaker:

where you can find old,

Speaker:

recordings,

Speaker:

where you,

Speaker:

how you can search,

Speaker:

how you can tag people,

Speaker:

different things like that,

Speaker:

just basically how to work at the community.

Speaker:

And then there's a call to action for you to

Speaker:

introduce yourself so that we can all get to know

Speaker:

you.

Speaker:

So it's it's a really good,

Speaker:

simple video that rather than explain that process

Speaker:

in a really,

Speaker:

really long email.

Speaker:

Yeah,

Speaker:

we can just do a quick video.

Speaker:

They can feel comfortable because they visually

Speaker:

saw the environment and then they can jump in

Speaker:

themselves.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

And they can always go back to that video and

Speaker:

rewatch it again if they like forget something or

Speaker:

whatever.

Speaker:

And then number 13

Speaker:

email list,

Speaker:

VIP videos.

Speaker:

So I think this is like probably one of my

Speaker:

favorite.

Speaker:

And we started incorporating this more so this

Speaker:

year.

Speaker:

So can you share like two your email list,

Speaker:

an exclusive look at a new product or a service.

Speaker:

I was literally thinking this would be very fun

Speaker:

for some of the new branding stuff that we have on

Speaker:

our website for certain people.

Speaker:

So tbd,

Speaker:

if you join our.

Speaker:

Join our email list.

Speaker:

and also sharing like behind the scenes.

Speaker:

So we send out an email almost every time we

Speaker:

launch our course.

Speaker:

It's a very similar email.

Speaker:

I change it up a little,

Speaker:

little bit,

Speaker:

but it's giving people a look at the course.

Speaker:

Like it's literally me inside SEO on tap,

Speaker:

walking you through the modules,

Speaker:

how they're set up,

Speaker:

what the course looks like,

Speaker:

how the PDF resources are looking.

Speaker:

It gives you like that VIP backstage access kind

Speaker:

of feel.

Speaker:

And you can do that with anything that you have

Speaker:

is give your like hot leads,

Speaker:

your.

Speaker:

The people in your community already,

Speaker:

the people on your email list,

Speaker:

give them an exclusive look at something or an

Speaker:

exclusive chance to sign up for something because

Speaker:

they're already in your community anyways.

Speaker:

Love it.

Speaker:

And then the very Last one,

Speaker:

number 14,

Speaker:

video podcasting.

Speaker:

What we're doing right now.

Speaker:

Now ask us if we've really done anything with it.

Speaker:

Not so much,

Speaker:

but it's a goal and we'll get there.

Speaker:

But we're planning on posting these on YouTube.

Speaker:

So we record everything using Intella.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

So it's not tele will tell you that they are not a

Speaker:

podcasting recording platform.

Speaker:

And they aren't like you can't just record your

Speaker:

voice and nothing else.

Speaker:

You have to record video with it.

Speaker:

So that's really important.

Speaker:

But we are recording ourselves when we do the

Speaker:

podcast.

Speaker:

We have our fun little setup with our light up

Speaker:

sign in here.

Speaker:

So and we'd argue if you're doing a podcast,

Speaker:

you might as well just record it anyway.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

Like we show up very authentic and we're just like

Speaker:

in our yoga pants and sweatshirts,

Speaker:

like there's dog hair all over my house.

Speaker:

We haven't hardly Put a lick of makeup on.

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

you don't have to be a professional.

Speaker:

And I think that's where people in the past were

Speaker:

like,

Speaker:

I need to show up,

Speaker:

buttoned up and blah,

Speaker:

blah,

Speaker:

blah.

Speaker:

But you don't.

Speaker:

And we have.

Speaker:

And the thing is,

Speaker:

like,

Speaker:

we started recording these a long time ago and we

Speaker:

plan to do stuff with them.

Speaker:

But like,

Speaker:

it doesn't hurt to record it even if you don't.

Speaker:

If,

Speaker:

even if you're like,

Speaker:

still intimidated.

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

I don't want to put my face out there,

Speaker:

I don't want to do it in the next couple of years,

Speaker:

you might want to.

Speaker:

And let's say you've built your podcast to be a

Speaker:

really great source of like bringing people in and

Speaker:

then your podcast blows up.

Speaker:

You can still go back and use all those videos.

Speaker:

Like it's not wasted.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

The great thing is we are sitting here and we have

Speaker:

what,

Speaker:

160 plus?

Speaker:

Well,

Speaker:

we didn't start recording probably until we

Speaker:

probably have like 50 plus or more episodes that

Speaker:

we,

Speaker:

can put on YouTube right now.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And a lot of what we share,

Speaker:

like this example right here,

Speaker:

this isn't super time sensitive.

Speaker:

So this is a piece of content that can be reshared

Speaker:

six months from now and it's still going to be

Speaker:

really good for business to drive traffic anyways

Speaker:

and can perform better on YouTube than it does on

Speaker:

our blog or on our podcast even.

Speaker:

So I would strongly urge you,

Speaker:

if you start a podcast,

Speaker:

just record it.

Speaker:

Doesn't hurt.

Speaker:

No.

Speaker:

And yeah,

Speaker:

just don't show up.

Speaker:

Don't worry about showing up.

Speaker:

Perfect.

Speaker:

No.

Speaker:

And unless that's your brand,

Speaker:

I mean,

Speaker:

obviously,

Speaker:

but if you want to be.

Speaker:

You're a doctor.

Speaker:

I mean.

Speaker:

Yeah,

Speaker:

maybe.

Speaker:

So a few other video tips.

Speaker:

Show your face.

Speaker:

I know

Speaker:

that can suck sometimes,

Speaker:

but that is where building trust and connection

Speaker:

with really comes in.

Speaker:

There are a few times where I have not showed my

Speaker:

face and it's because I had pink eye or like,

Speaker:

you know,

Speaker:

I was just like,

Speaker:

you do not.

Speaker:

Yeah,

Speaker:

you do not want to see me right now.

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

it is not okay.

Speaker:

I do not look okay.

Speaker:

So there are definitely been a couple times.

Speaker:

But it's very rare that you don't see at least my

Speaker:

little circle bubble in the corner.

Speaker:

And I think that's really important because even

Speaker:

though you're not going to be like huge on this

Speaker:

screen,

Speaker:

there's still some element of personality to get

Speaker:

them,

Speaker:

to feel like they're there with you.

Speaker:

Also,

Speaker:

if you think about it,

Speaker:

how often are they staring at Your corner picture

Speaker:

versus what they're looking at on the screen.

Speaker:

They're probably looking at you like 5%.

Speaker:

You're in the corner of their eye.

Speaker:

Yeah,

Speaker:

yeah.

Speaker:

And that's something too,

Speaker:

that we really love for our course is that our,

Speaker:

like,

Speaker:

we have taken other courses and stuff before where

Speaker:

people don't show their face.

Speaker:

And I think it's fine.

Speaker:

Sometimes you can share your content without,

Speaker:

like,

Speaker:

showing yourself,

Speaker:

but there's a tiny bit of disconnect.

Speaker:

It is.

Speaker:

Yeah,

Speaker:

it's a little bit of disconnect.

Speaker:

I know.

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

I always see the face.

Speaker:

I love being able to like,

Speaker:

see,

Speaker:

see my students,

Speaker:

you know,

Speaker:

pretend.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Also,

Speaker:

I will say,

Speaker:

the more you show up and show your face,

Speaker:

the easier it gets.

Speaker:

I promise.

Speaker:

Promise,

Speaker:

promise.

Speaker:

Because again,

Speaker:

I was a very,

Speaker:

like,

Speaker:

I don't want to be on video.

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

I don't get up and get ready every morning.

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

what?

Speaker:

But the more you do it,

Speaker:

the more you get used to it and the more you're

Speaker:

kind of like,

Speaker:

no,

Speaker:

I'm gonna show up as me.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

They don't like my ball cap and my yoga pants.

Speaker:

They can close their eyes.

Speaker:

They can listen to my podcasty voice.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

Another kind of little tip is to include

Speaker:

timestamps.

Speaker:

So if you have a really long video,

Speaker:

you could include timestamps in the description of

Speaker:

the video or in your email before you send it

Speaker:

over,

Speaker:

saying like,

Speaker:

jump here if this is what you want want to look

Speaker:

at.

Speaker:

Or like,

Speaker:

say we're sharing branding examples like jump to 2

Speaker:

minutes for brand option one,

Speaker:

jump to 3 minutes and 22 seconds for brand option

Speaker:

two.

Speaker:

So that then if they're re watching the video,

Speaker:

they can pop back exactly where they need to go.

Speaker:

And your clients will really appreciate that.

Speaker:

1393 00:38:43,724 --> 00:38:46,500 Another one is you can make it engaging by asking

Speaker:

your audience to do something throughout the

Speaker:

video.

Speaker:

So something like pause here and try it on your

Speaker:

hand and then hit play when you're ready for the

Speaker:

next step.

Speaker:

This is like,

Speaker:

obviously really great for tutorials.

Speaker:

I know I'm constantly like,

Speaker:

I have a video up on the side and I'm pausing and

Speaker:

I'm doing the thing and then I'm going back.

Speaker:

but you can do this with any video,

Speaker:

honestly,

Speaker:

if you want to prompt them to try to do something,

Speaker:

whether it's something for SEO or whatever,

Speaker:

or like pause Here,

Speaker:

try this

Speaker:

ChatGPT prompt,

Speaker:

see what it spits out,

Speaker:

and then come and play the rest of the video or

Speaker:

whatever.

Speaker:

So like,

Speaker:

that makes it.

Speaker:

It engaging.

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

because sometimes videos are engaging.

Speaker:

As far as like us just taking in the information

Speaker:

and watching.

Speaker:

But this takes it to that next level of like

Speaker:

actually trying to get them to do something during

Speaker:

your video.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And,

Speaker:

yeah,

Speaker:

just make them use their brain a little bit and

Speaker:

you can be fun and playful and be like,

Speaker:

hey,

Speaker:

you,

Speaker:

did you actually pause?

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

did he,

Speaker:

did he pause?

Speaker:

Or are you still,

Speaker:

are you still sitting here?

Speaker:

I love it when they do that in movies.

Speaker:

Like at the end of the movies,

Speaker:

like credits or something like that,

Speaker:

where they're like,

Speaker:

hey,

Speaker:

why are you still sitting in your seat?

Speaker:

Yeah,

Speaker:

movie's over,

Speaker:

get out of here.

Speaker:

and then this is our favorite reason for why we

Speaker:

love Tela so much is brand your video environment.

Speaker:

Again,

Speaker:

how can you make your brand so memorable and

Speaker:

embedded throughout everything you do?

Speaker:

So incorporating even just like a simple

Speaker:

background gradient or a background color,

Speaker:

shrinking your video a little bit so the

Speaker:

background kind of shines through behind it.

Speaker:

Or add in a frame or add in,

Speaker:

like an icon or,

Speaker:

you know,

Speaker:

a fun gif or something like that.

Speaker:

Just adding in different elements onto your video

Speaker:

environment and using a platform that makes it

Speaker:

really easy to edit that in.

Speaker:

Yes,

Speaker:

yes.

Speaker:

I love that.

Speaker:

this,

Speaker:

one's really fun.

Speaker:

So dropping Easter eggs.

Speaker:

So something like if you spot the coffee mug in

Speaker:

the background,

Speaker:

like ours right here,

Speaker:

1472 00:40:36,664 --> 00:40:39,280 DM us on Instagram for a special surprise.

Speaker:

So it's really trying to like make it fun,

Speaker:

playful,

Speaker:

gamify it a little bit,

Speaker:

you know,

Speaker:

like keep them engaged in different ways like

Speaker:

that.

Speaker:

Because like,

Speaker:

if I heard somebody say that,

Speaker:

I'd be like,

Speaker:

whoa,

Speaker:

where's that coffee mug?

Speaker:

And you go back and watch it too.

Speaker:

Absolutely.

Speaker:

I know I would.

Speaker:

And then I would like,

Speaker:

try to,

Speaker:

you know,

Speaker:

get the special surprise or whatever.

Speaker:

It's just like a fun,

Speaker:

engaging thing and it also like,

Speaker:

makes you memorable.

Speaker:

Like it makes your brand fun.

Speaker:

And they're gonna remember that about you and your

Speaker:

brand.

Speaker:

Yeah,

Speaker:

yeah.

Speaker:

For real.

Speaker:

We are like,

Speaker:

for us,

Speaker:

we're a service business that is very virtual.

Speaker:

So we work with anyone,

Speaker:

anywhere,

Speaker:

all around the globe.

Speaker:

And there are plenty of times,

Speaker:

like I just finished working with a client in

Speaker:

Italy.

Speaker:

We,

Speaker:

we didn't join live calls because of the time

Speaker:

difference.

Speaker:

That's tough.

Speaker:

So we were constantly talking on voxer or talking

Speaker:

on,

Speaker:

videos,

Speaker:

pre recorded videos.

Speaker:

And that's how we communicated.

Speaker:

And so it's like,

Speaker:

how can you create and build a relationship when

Speaker:

you can't talk live all the time?

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And the best way to do it is videos.

Speaker:

Video is your best Option.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Yep.

Speaker:

So try and make it personal.

Speaker:

Look directly at the camera.

Speaker:

Ask your audience,

Speaker:

especially if it's a video that's like pre

Speaker:

recorded for the masses.

Speaker:

Like anyone who's gonna watch it,

Speaker:

then,

Speaker:

1534 00:41:58,604 --> 00:42:01,060 make them feel like it's just them.

Speaker:

I know you recorded the video for everyone,

Speaker:

but don't say everyone.

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

say you.

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

be very personal

Speaker:

in those emails and ask them to do specific

Speaker:

actions to make sure.

Speaker:

I mean,

Speaker:

not to like,

Speaker:

make sure they're paying attention like you hope

Speaker:

they are.

Speaker:

But,

Speaker:

if it is a longer video,

Speaker:

like You might need to.

Speaker:

Yeah,

Speaker:

exactly.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

So just make it personal and try

Speaker:

and really think about it like you're talking to

Speaker:

an individual.

Speaker:

Even if you are creating something for a huge

Speaker:

group of people,

Speaker:

I think that's super important.

Speaker:

Like using words like you and like really honing

Speaker:

in on that.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And then the last one is just be yourself.

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

don't

Speaker:

feel the need to perform.

Speaker:

Don't feel the need to show,

Speaker:

1568 00:42:43,638 --> 00:42:43,902 up.

Speaker:

Super polished.

Speaker:

I think that's where people get really into

Speaker:

intimidated with video is like,

Speaker:

I can't do video until

Speaker:

I

Speaker:

like even like down to like vanity metrics.

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

I can't do video until I have X amount of people

Speaker:

following me because what's the point?

Speaker:

Only so many people are going to see it.

Speaker:

Or I can't do video because

Speaker:

I

Speaker:

hardly,

Speaker:

1583 00:43:03,422 --> 00:43:05,726 ever have time to do my makeup or I don't have

Speaker:

time to,

Speaker:

you know,

Speaker:

put on a nice outfit or that's just not me.

Speaker:

Or I do.

Speaker:

I don't have a script.

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

I need a script before I show up.

Speaker:

And that's not true.

Speaker:

I think the more and more we do video,

Speaker:

the more lax we get.

Speaker:

We still show up in our brand.

Speaker:

We still show up,

Speaker:

very much like to our audience the way that they

Speaker:

want us to,

Speaker:

but we're also very authentic and relaxed.

Speaker:

Like back in the day,

Speaker:

we used to be like,

Speaker:

oh my gosh,

Speaker:

we have to do our makeup.

Speaker:

Or Abbie would ping me and she'd be like,

Speaker:

what are you wearing?

Speaker:

I'd be like,

Speaker:

I don't know,

Speaker:

what are you wearing?

Speaker:

And I think one day we were both just like,

Speaker:

this is dumb.

Speaker:

People know us.

Speaker:

We're gonna show up in our sweatshirts and our

Speaker:

yoga pants and we're gonna sit here with our

Speaker:

laptops and our notes in front of us and we're

Speaker:

just gonna be super authentic.

Speaker:

We used to like,

Speaker:

have a screen off in the distance with like

Speaker:

scripter.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And the whole thing,

Speaker:

we were like,

Speaker:

this is just like,

Speaker:

people sit with their actual laptops in their laps

Speaker:

recording podcasts.

Speaker:

And you know why we did that?

Speaker:

Because we were playing this stupid comparison

Speaker:

game of,

Speaker:

like,

Speaker:

looking at these massive podcasters and what they

Speaker:

did do and how they look and who they are.

Speaker:

And it was just like.

Speaker:

It got to a point where we were trying to be

Speaker:

someone else,

Speaker:

and we were like,

Speaker:

why are we doing this?

Speaker:

Yeah,

Speaker:

we lost touch kind of with who we were.

Speaker:

We were like,

Speaker:

matt,

Speaker:

let's just bring it back to the basics.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Let's just be us.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

So I think listening to all of these.

Speaker:

All of these different ideas,

Speaker:

I don't want you to feel overwhelmed and be like,

Speaker:

oh,

Speaker:

my goodness,

Speaker:

I have so much work to do.

Speaker:

Because 14 and adds to my list of videos.

Speaker:

My mom literally says that to me every time she

Speaker:

listens to a pod.

Speaker:

She's like,

Speaker:

thank you.

Speaker:

Just listen to Duo episode.

Speaker:

Now I have 5,000 things to add to my to do list.

Speaker:

And I'm like,

Speaker:

no,

Speaker:

I don't want you to do that.

Speaker:

She tells me that all the time.

Speaker:

So.

Speaker:

So I want you to just think of,

Speaker:

like,

Speaker:

one thing here.

Speaker:

So,

Speaker:

like,

Speaker:

for example,

Speaker:

taking our own advice,

Speaker:

we're gonna record a celebratory call right after

Speaker:

this.

Speaker:

We're not gonna do anything fancy.

Speaker:

We're just gonna do it.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

be.

Speaker:

Just be authentic and do it.

Speaker:

She's gonna love it,

Speaker:

and she is gonna love it.

Speaker:

We're not gonna overthink it.

Speaker:

We're not gonna have a script.

Speaker:

We're just gonna send it,

Speaker:

and it's gonna be great.

Speaker:

And we're going to add.

Speaker:

Create a welcome onboarding video with our whole

Speaker:

team.

Speaker:

We're gonna add that to our agenda for our next

Speaker:

team meeting.

Speaker:

And everyone's gonna do that.

Speaker:

And those are the two things we're gonna do.

Speaker:

And that's it.

Speaker:

So I want.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

So I want you to also give yourself just this

Speaker:

little tiny thing that you can help incorporate

Speaker:

videos into to create more of that,

Speaker:

like,

Speaker:

powerful client experience and share it with us.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Because we always love to know.

Speaker:

Let us know.

Speaker:

So let's chat a little bit about Tela.

Speaker:

Because people always ask us,

Speaker:

especially after we send a video

Speaker:

within our community,

Speaker:

like,

Speaker:

regardless of whether it's a student,

Speaker:

a client,

Speaker:

someone.

Speaker:

Someone in our membership,

Speaker:

people always ask,

Speaker:

what tool are you using?

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

this looks so cool.

Speaker:

Because I think Loom is the big one that

Speaker:

everyone's super used to.

Speaker:

Everyone uses Loom.

Speaker:

And,

Speaker:

yeah,

Speaker:

it's just,

Speaker:

like,

Speaker:

a very common platform.

Speaker:

1722 00:46:06,994 --> 00:46:08,746 Canva is another one because we're already in

Speaker:

there.

Speaker:

And I know sometimes we don't want an extra tool,

Speaker:

but there are situations.

Speaker:

Like one of the things that I love about Tela is

Speaker:

that we can create what they call playlists.

Speaker:

So we have like organized folders for all of the

Speaker:

different things we need to categorize.

Speaker:

And when you start creating more and more videos,

Speaker:

that organization piece of it really comes into

Speaker:

play.

Speaker:

So we'll share a little bit about why we really

Speaker:

love Tela and like highly encourage you to check

Speaker:

it out.

Speaker:

We will link it in our show notes so that you can

Speaker:

go check it out yourself.

Speaker:

if you dig into episode,

Speaker:

episode 111,

Speaker:

that is where we talk in depth about Tela.

Speaker:

And we even interviewed the founder of Tela on the

Speaker:

podcast as well and kind of walk through all of

Speaker:

the,

Speaker:

all the different aspects of it,

Speaker:

what they're working on behind the scenes.

Speaker:

Because I think I love supporting small businesses

Speaker:

too.

Speaker:

And I think it's just so,

Speaker:

it's so fun when you sit down with someone who,

Speaker:

who created this amazing platform and you're like,

Speaker:

you're a human.

Speaker:

Just like all of us building a business,

Speaker:

we don't think of it that way.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

At all.

Speaker:

It's fun.

Speaker:

So I think it's also fun just to support,

Speaker:

support businesses that really invest in creators.

Speaker:

And I think that's a really big thing is

Speaker:

I like not to call Shade on Loom because I do

Speaker:

think Loom is a really great company.

Speaker:

But I'm pretty sure they're a part of Salesforce

Speaker:

and their focus

Speaker:

is not.

Speaker:

It's on big companies.

Speaker:

And so I think it makes a big difference when you

Speaker:

work with a company who truly cares about the

Speaker:

little guys.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Yeah,

Speaker:

it's.

Speaker:

It makes a big difference.

Speaker:

It makes your heart feel warm.

Speaker:

I know.

Speaker:

So some of the reasons I'm not.

Speaker:

Again,

Speaker:

like dig into episode 111 because that's a great

Speaker:

episode.

Speaker:

but some of the reasons we really love it is

Speaker:

because of the beautiful branding,

Speaker:

the ability to change the sizes and the video

Speaker:

details and all of those fun design aspects post

Speaker:

recording,

Speaker:

which is insane.

Speaker:

Huge.

Speaker:

Like insane.

Speaker:

It's the only platform that I think you can change

Speaker:

orientation on.

Speaker:

Maybe not the only.

Speaker:

Don't quote me because I'm not like in the video

Speaker:

world.

Speaker:

1793 00:48:20,504 --> 00:48:21,408 but yeah,

Speaker:

it is like that's game changer.

Speaker:

Like doing anything post recording is just kind of

Speaker:

mind blowing to me.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

It needs to have a really easy editing system for

Speaker:

you to feel good about it.

Speaker:

And I Feel like Tela does.

Speaker:

And the great thing is when Lauren on my team is

Speaker:

helping me create all of these tutorial videos for

Speaker:

all the websites of like,

Speaker:

how to update this,

Speaker:

how to update this.

Speaker:

And this is her first time using Tela and she

Speaker:

told me just the other day she was like,

Speaker:

I am having so much fun editing.

Speaker:

She's like,

Speaker:

I'm like in the back end and she's like,

Speaker:

I'm clipping this and it's not hard.

Speaker:

And she's like,

Speaker:

but sometimes I'm like,

Speaker:

whoa,

Speaker:

I'm spending too much time editing.

Speaker:

Too much fun.

Speaker:

Which is awesome.

Speaker:

Like you want to,

Speaker:

to have that experience.

Speaker:

So we love that like easy to use editing

Speaker:

platform.

Speaker:

The ability to brand it,

Speaker:

the ability to create it into what you need.

Speaker:

Those are some of the top reasons that we really,

Speaker:

really love Tela.

Speaker:

And I think it's just remembering too,

Speaker:

that video isn't just for YouTubers and

Speaker:

influencers,

Speaker:

it's not just for marketing.

Speaker:

It really is a powerful tool for any service based

Speaker:

business

Speaker:

internally as well.

Speaker:

It doesn't have to be this extra external beast.

Speaker:

It doesn't have to be like videos are not just

Speaker:

YouTubes and reels anymore.

Speaker:

They really are tools that you can use internally

Speaker:

within your business.

Speaker:

And all of those things that we just listed off to

Speaker:

you are great ways to get started.

Speaker:

And once you get into it,

Speaker:

I think you'll just like find the excitement of

Speaker:

doing more internal videos for your business and

Speaker:

it's going to create this unique,

Speaker:

like you have this unique brand experience.

Speaker:

you can be more relatable,

Speaker:

more authentic.

Speaker:

You can,

Speaker:

can seem like you can build a better client

Speaker:

experience.

Speaker:

And like I said,

Speaker:

the more you get into it,

Speaker:

the more you actually kind of want to do it.

Speaker:

Like this whole list,

Speaker:

like we've done some of these things in that list

Speaker:

but other things,

Speaker:

like we're just so excited to start doing them.

Speaker:

Like Abby already listed off the two that we're

Speaker:

going to add.

Speaker:

I know.

Speaker:

personally I like creating our own podcast

Speaker:

episodes because we always find new ways to grow

Speaker:

our business too.

Speaker:

Yes,

Speaker:

seriously,

Speaker:

we learn from ourselves.

Speaker:

I know,

Speaker:

it's so fun.

Speaker:

So if the idea of video is making you nervous,

Speaker:

just start small.

Speaker:

Jump into Tela again.

Speaker:

We'll include that link in there.

Speaker:

I believe they have a free trial.

Speaker:

Don't quote me on that.

Speaker:

I will make sure whatever they have that I put it

Speaker:

in the show notes and definitely should have had

Speaker:

that ready for you at this recording.

Speaker:

We apologize.

Speaker:

This is a showing up authentic selves

Speaker:

so,

Speaker:

anyways,

Speaker:

just get started.

Speaker:

See how it feels.

Speaker:

If you hate it,

Speaker:

guess what?

Speaker:

No one's going to see it because it's recorded

Speaker:

just for you.

Speaker:

And bloopers can be fun to share in the future.

Speaker:

Anyways,

Speaker:

so.

Speaker:

Loopers.

Speaker:

It gets easier every time.

Speaker:

Jump in and have some fun.
