Hey, Dr. Jess Reynolds here and welcome to The Conscious Practitioner. This is the audio version of my newsletter made for wellness practitioners who love the work but are tired of feeling overwhelmed, burned out, and want to build a practice you love. If you'd like to get the email version, you'll find a link in the show notes. Now most practitioners, I know, myself included, that's for sure. We tend to end our workdays with a mixture of gratitude for being done and hopefully having done a great day and a big old groan as we think of the hour or more of charting that we have left to do. So today, instead of unpacking burnout or identity shifts, I want to share something that's made my day to day feel a lot better. Because while the inner work stuff is essential and I really enjoy writing and speaking on those topics, in fact that's like my biggest passion. We also have to deal with the practical day-to-day reality of our practice. And sometimes something comes along that doesn't just make life a little easier, but significantly better. So one of the workshops that I get asked to teach most often is charting and soap notes, which is kind of weird because it's not the most exciting topic by any means, and yet it's one of the most requested. Charting is tedious, it's time consuming, and for the most part it's unpaid. And let's be honest, most of us, we tend to put off charting to the end of the day and then try and cram it in when our brains are basically oatmeal. That's when the notes get sloppy, they get vague, and you know, quite honestly, sometimes they just get skipped altogether, which as we know, is a bad thing. Now, I've done this more times than I could count the whole delaying to the end of the day thing, and I hear the same thing from nearly every practitioner I talk to. Now, on a somewhat tangential note, I've been an early adopter of AI since early 2021. I've been testing tools, trying to break things. Mostly just figuring out what actually works. So when Jane invited me to test their new AI scribe feature late last year, nearly a year ago, I jumped on it. Now, I wasn't worried about the technology necessarily 'cause again, I, I've been interested in it since early 2021, but I was super curious to see if they cracked the code on something that I had really been wanting for years. After a full year of testing it, I can say without exaggeration, and I mean this, it is the single most useful thing I've added to my workflow. Now, I know that sounds like a bold statement, and it is, but it's also true. Now, here's how this whole AI scribe thing works. First off, you hit record with consent of your clients. Of course, that's a super important part. Then you just do your session like normal, like you just ask your questions, you go about the process, and as soon as you're done, you hit stop A few seconds after that, your soap notes or your charts, they're already done. I mean, perfect. Full detail, clean, accurate, done. It's fast, it's pretty much perfect, and it consistently picks up details that I'd usually forget by the time I sit down to actually do my charting. We are talking about hours saved every week. I mean hours. It's more time with my partner, more time with Benny, my dog, more time to actually recharge and more time in my wood shop, which is my happy place. Now, one of the best parts is you can customize the output. This really is one of the best parts. What I mean by that is instead of just finishing the soap notes, I also have mine set up so it writes a basic draft of an email that I could send to my client. I'll usually personalize it a little bit, but the draft is already there. And this saves me even more time and it helps me stay consistent and it also helps me stay in connection with my clients, which I love and they love. And very importantly, it is HIPAA and PDA compliant. I've had the chance to speak at length with the team behind AI Scribe about security and privacy, and they've gone through great lengths to go above and beyond to get it right. Now. All of that's great, but for me. The most important thing that I've noticed from using ASCRIBE is that I can be fully present with my patients. What I mean is when I'm with them, I'm with them. I'm not taking any notes. I'm not writing anything down or typing. I'm not even trying to mentally keep track of important details that I can take note of later. I'm there fully present, just me and my client in the room doing the work I actually signed up for. It's that presence. Wow, what a gift. So then if you're anything like me and charting and paperwork drains you and you dread it and it just piles up, or you just wanna feel more focused and present in your sessions. Then this is seriously worth checking out. There's a link in the show notes. You can use that link and it'll take you directly to the page where you can learn all the details. And if you use the code, aim one MO and you sign up, you'll get your first month free. with that, if you enjoy this type of content, subscribe or follow to the conscious practitioner wherever you listen, your podcasts. I really appreciate your time and like always be well my friend.
