A couple of days ago, I released an episode called A Simple Plan for Anyone to Make $40 Million Over 40 Years. And most of the comments were incredibly positive. People were excited. They were grateful. They were doing the math. But there were a few comments that really caught my attention. One person said, hey, that would take way too long. I'm almost 64. I don't want to wait that long for my $40 million. Someone else said, get real. You're not going to get rich. You have to work hard just to make a living. And one woman who said she was 74 years old wrote, I hope I'm not still on the planet 40 years from now. And look, it would be really easy to read comments like these and dismiss them. Well, these people just have a bad mindset. They don't get it. They're never going to change. But I don't think that's the lesson here, because we all do this. Maybe you don't do it with money, but maybe you do it with your health. Maybe you do it with love. Maybe you do it with your business, your purpose, your body, your family, or some dream that you've quietly decided is no longer available to you. There's some area of your life where you have taken something that is possible and through your own thinking, turned it into something that feels impossible. And the scary part is that you probably don't even realize you're doing it. You think you're being realistic or that you're looking at the facts or that you're simply acknowledging your age or your circumstances or your finances or the economy or the amount of time you have left. But what if the thing you're calling reality is actually just a decision you made about reality? Because over the last 20 years, I've studied almost every personal development concept you can imagine. Manifestation, the law of attraction, quantum attraction, 4th-dimensional thinking, reprogramming your subconscious mind from teachers like Neville Goddard to Florence Scovel Shinn to Abraham Hicks. And underneath all of it, I believe there's one extraordinarily simple distinction, one practice that if you truly understand it and learn how to use it, gives you the ability to begin re-engineering virtually any area of your life. And so in this episode, I'm gonna show you what that practice is, why it's so powerful, and how you can begin using it today to take something in your life that currently feels impossible and make it possible. So let's get into it.

David Bayer:
All right, guys, how do you go from broke to wealthy? How do you go from single for years to finding the love of your life, or struggling with your health to feeling better than you have in years? Or maybe you're an entrepreneur, from a business that's barely surviving to one that creates extraordinary wealth and impact. You know, it was not that long ago that I had 2 homes in foreclosure, I had a ton of credit card debt. I had a business that was failing. I was single for almost 10 years. I had no idea how I was going to create the life that I wanted. In fact, I don't even know that I knew what life I wanted. I definitely knew what life I didn't want. But today I'm married to the woman of my dreams. I live in a 10,000-square-foot home in paradise. It was a house once on my vision board where I entertain my clients and do private retreats. I built a business that has generated more than $50 million doing work that I absolutely love and making an impact in the world. And if I had to identify one thing that created that shift, one practice that has probably been more responsible for changing my life than anything else, I would say this: I began practicing new decisions. Now, when I say decisions, I'm not just talking about decisions to do things. Those are important. You decide you're going to get a better job. You decide you're going to start a business. You decide you're going to make more money, or you decide you're going to lose 20 pounds. Those are essentially goals, and they matter. In fact, in a minute, I'm gonna explain why simply making those kinds of decisions begins to program your subconscious mind to help produce those results. But there's another kind of decision that I think is even more important, and those are your decisions about things. It's your decisions about what is true, your decisions that money is scarce versus money is abundant, your decision about whether or not you're worthy of love or of success or of being seen and heard. Your decisions about whether or not you can trust other people or whether it's weak to get help from other people. See, most of us don't even realize that we've made decisions about everything in our life. We just say, well, that's the way it is because we have some historical evidence of it being true. But those aren't necessarily facts. They're beliefs that are based on your past and beliefs or decisions. See, this was one of the most powerful realizations I ever had years ago. I was really wanting to know, like, man, how do I change a belief? I had changed some beliefs, but I was still hanging on to a lot of limiting beliefs that were creating a lot of negative impact in my life around money, around success, around myself. And I realized that beliefs are just decisions. And if I wanted to create a new belief, all I had to do was decide. Let me give you an example. Okay? A little over a decade ago, I had been single for 10 years and my belief was that there were no good women left out there, but I had evidence for it. I had been out on date after date after date, never found anybody I really resonated with. And then when I started going deeper into personal growth and I realized that beliefs were just decisions, I made a decision at the end of 2012 that I was going to meet my soulmate. I remember it was Towards the end of the year, rather than making decisions to do, I started making new decisions about, and I made a decision that somewhere out there is my perfect soulmate, that I had built myself into the kind of person who was resonating at the level of frequency that would attract this person. And I made a decision that I didn't know how, I didn't know when, but that I was going to meet a beautiful, intelligent, loving— get the level of specificity here— Colombian woman, and I was going to make her my wife. 2 weeks later, through a series of coincidences that literally went back years, I met my wife, a beautiful, intelligent, connected, extraordinary Colombian woman. In fact, it goes back so far, it almost makes you wonder how time works. It was about 18 months before I met my wife that I ran into a woman that I had dated years before who told me about a healer in a town 2 hours from where I lived that could help me repair my shoulder tear so that I didn't have a second shoulder repair surgery. I'm going back and forth driving to Sarasota, Florida from Orlando, seeing this guy. And one weekend it's his birthday and I decide to stay for the weekend, take him out for his birthday, and I end up meeting my wife. The same thing happened around money. In my 30s, I had no money. I'd been working for 13 years, 15 years, nothing to show for it. Oh, actually I did have something to show for it. I had a bunch of credit card debt. I had 2 homes in foreclosure. And I remember being in Miami, Seeing all the expensive sports cars and fancy people and the penthouses. And I thought, man, there must be something wrong with me. Like, why can't I figure this money thing out? Fast forward a decade later, after making new decisions that life was abundant, that I was worthy of money, and building evidence to support those new decisions, I have more money than I could ever have possibly imagined. What happened? How did I go from single and broke to a life that literally jumped off my vision board into my reality a decade later? This is the secret, if there is a secret, and it is the power of decision. So I'm going to break this down in 3 areas for you: the psychology of decision, the neuroscience of decision, and the quantum creative aspect of decision. Okay? So behavioral psychology basically tells us that the decisions that we make become our reality. Now, behavioral psychology would never explain it this way. They have a concept, we teach it as the 5 primary drivers. And what it basically says is whatever you believe, you think. So if you believe that you're not good enough, you'll constantly have thoughts around not being good enough. And whatever you think, you feel that your thoughts, which are electrical activity in your brain, it's the activation of neural networks, translate and transmit themselves into the rest of your nervous system. And you experience that thought as an emotion. So belief creates a thought, a thought creates an emotion. And emotions are the fuel for action. So emotions determine what you do or do not do, and your action consistent over time produces your results. So beliefs, thoughts, emotions, actions, results. And what's so interesting about this is that the results that you produce when you observe them will invoke within you the same belief that started the process in the first place. See, I knew money was scarce. See, I knew I wasn't good enough. It's called a psycho-cybernetic loop. And it's not that money is inherently scarce. That's not a fact. It's not that it's a fact that you're not good enough. It's that your beliefs create your results. Your beliefs create your reality. And so if you want to actually change your reality, you have to interject or interfere at the level of belief. And this is why trying to change your action doesn't really change the results, because if the underlying belief is creating thoughts and emotions, then ultimately you're going to get the same result. Beliefs are these meanings that we gave the experience of our life when we were growing up. So for example, if you were supposed to meet your little buddy by the drinking fountain, they didn't show up. That may have kicked off a belief that you can't trust people. And what's so interesting is that once that belief is formed, your brain is now looking for evidence to support that belief and ignoring any evidence that is counter to that belief. So essentially you're living in like a hallucination. It's a hallucinogenic experience of reality where you're functioning in just one dimension of many, many, many, many dimensions. But that dimension is based off of what you believe. So this, from a psychological perspective, is how your beliefs become things, how your beliefs create your reality. Now, we can also explain this from a neurological perspective. And going back to the idea that when you have a thought and when you have an emotion, it is electromagnetic activity in your system, right, in your brain and in your nervous system, what that means is that you're always putting off a frequency, an electrical vibration that is specific to the thoughts and emotions that you're having. There's a lot of work in New Age or Law of Attraction that talks about how you attract what you put out there. And it can sound a little bit woo until you understand that, like, no, actually your whole system, your human being operating system is like this electrical, mechanical, material thing. It's this bodysuit that's constantly putting off a vibe. That's why, you know, if you walk into a room with somebody who's really grounded, you feel that groundedness. If you walk into a room with a creepy person, there's a creepy vibe going on. But what's happening literally on a moment-by-moment basis is you're constantly broadcasting thoughts and broadcasting emotions. You're broadcasting a frequency, and other people subconsciously pick up on that frequency, and they make their decisions at a subconscious level In order to create coincidences or synchronicities, or what Abraham Hicks would call rendezvous with you. That's why when you think about a friend, they call, or you've been thinking about someone and you run into them at the grocery store. But this is actually creating the great timing of your life. Because if you believe that life's not fair, you're going to subconsciously scoop a certain number of blueberries into your shake in the morning, run out of blueberries, which determines the timing that you need to go to the grocery store to buy your organic blueberries. And then that is going to impact the next thing that you do and where you go and when you go so that you're sitting at a stoplight and someone who's not paying attention behind you rear-ends you so that you can experience the reality of life's not fair. Good things happen to bad people. So we're all connected into this super matrix of consciousness, creating coincidences and synchronicities that influence each other because of the neuroscientific aspect of how we function. Right? The vibrational aspect of how we function. And then the third way that our decisions or our beliefs create our reality is through the quantum creative aspect of decisions. And the great mystic Neville Goddard talks about this. He said, look, there's 2 realities occurring simultaneously. There's the third dimensional reality, the reality that we normally exclusively refer to as reality, the material reality, what you can detect with your 5 senses. But there's also a fourth dimension. A 4th-dimensional reality. And he said, all of creation already exists in the 4th dimension. So the body that you want, the relationship that you want, the business that you want, the career that you want, everything that you want already exists right here, right now. It just has not yet become material. And so it becomes material through our consistent focus and attention towards it. And we direct our focus and attention towards whatever it is that we believe. So again, if you believe money is scarce, that's where you're focusing your attention, your consciousness, your energy. And so you will materialize from the 4th dimension into your 3rd dimensional reality more of that. But if your focus and attention is on prosperity and abundance and a dream home that sits on your vision board, then through the power of translation from the 4th dimension to the 3rd dimension, given enough time and action, and as the movie of your life continues to play out, That vision board will become alive. That's the idea that there's a field and the field is orchestrating and coordinating all things and all things are possible. And so this is when it comes down to the power of decision. What you believe is creating your reality and beliefs are just decisions. So anytime you become aware of a subconscious decision, it moves its way into your conscious mind. Or you're just aware of the fact that what you believe is not congruent with what you're trying to create or what you want, you have an ability. I call it a responsibility, an ability to respond to the awareness of that limiting belief by making a new decision. And many people will say, like, well, what decision should I make? And my answer is, well, if the limiting belief is creating a reality that is the opposite of what you want, then shouldn't you just make a decision that is the opposite of the limiting belief? Rather than money is scarce, how about reality is inherently abundant? Rather than I'm not worthy, like I'm perfect and worthy. It can be really, really simple. There's not enough time. There is enough time. And again, both behavioral psychology, neuroscience, and quantum field theory tell us that when you make that decision, you start to have new thoughts. Therefore, you experience different emotions, you take different actions, and you produce different results. You're also putting off a different frequency or vibration. You're also starting to calibrate your autonomic nervous system. You know, there's a part of your brain called the reticular activating system, and it determines what you pay attention to. Neuroscience tells us that 88% of what happens in your perceptual reality, you ignore, and you only pay attention to a small sliver of 12%. That 12% that you pay attention to is whatever's in alignment with what you believe. So this is the power of decision. You can, when you become aware of a limiting belief, make a new decision. And when you do, and you hold that decision long enough, Neville describes it beautifully. He says, when you stay loyal to the new decision, given a certain amount of time, your reality must change. Now, that doesn't mean you don't participate in that reality. You have new thoughts and ideas and you take action upon them. Coincidences and synchronicities show up and you must meet them and do constructive things with them. I'm not suggesting that you just sit on your sofa all day long watching Netflix, eating cheesy poofs, and the Amazon delivery person is going to bring in your soulmate or a million-dollar business. That's not what we're talking about here. But action is actually part of the external. I would say it's secondary, even though it's necessary. The primary or the root cause or the first principle is what have you decided about reality? What are your beliefs? And so when I recorded the episode on $40 million, a 40-year plan to $40 million, which I thought was pretty good, I didn't have any plan to $40 million years ago. I didn't even have a plan to $4 million or $400,000. But when I recorded it, some folks said, well, you know, I'll be dead by then. Not a good decision. One of the decisions that I've made is I'm going to live well to 125 years old. That's going to be my healthspan. I may live even longer. And if you can have a conversation with ChatGPT and realize that the technologies, they're there to help us live an extended life. You want to be rich, live a long time. But the problem is not that you're 64 years old and by 104 you're going to be old and dead. The problem is you've decided that. The problem is you haven't decided to live well to 125 years old. If you did, then that episode that I recorded a few days ago should have changed your life forever because it really is a simple plan. So some people would say, hey, that's not reasonable to live to 125. And I would say, well, number one, you're just not educated about what's possible in longevity. And number two, even if what's possible on longevity didn't exist, I'd still make that decision. Because when you make a decision, you transform your reality. There's a wonderful story in Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich where he talks about his son who was born without eardrums. And Napoleon and his wife conditioned his son to believe that someday he would hear. And at 25 years old, he was the recipient of the first cochlear implant technology or hearing aid. So, but just notice someone can literally give you a plan for $40 million over 40 years, and some folks will find a way to blind themselves to it, then complain that they don't have enough money, that their body hurts, and that life is hard. Maybe. Like Ford said, the man who believes he can and the man who believes he can't are both right. What you believe, or in this case decide, becomes what is. In fact, your life today is the sum total of the subconscious decisions that you've made over the course of your life. That's why your decisions are so important. Albert Einstein once said, the most important decision you make is whether you live in a friendly or a hostile universe. And he's right. That is the most important decision that you make. Because your decisions create your reality. They dictate your destiny. And somewhere in all of our lives, we have decided that something is in— that is in direct contradiction to what we actually want our life to look like. So my invitation is this: do an inventory. Sit down, write down what you want, put that in column 1, and then feel into the resistance. And then ask yourself, what's the problem? What's the problem? Why can't I have, or why is it going to take a long time? Or what is the problem with what I want? And then write down the resistance in column 2. What's the problem around building a million-dollar business, finding my soulmate, having better relationships, making more money? Because whatever your answer is, that's the belief that is wanting to become a new decision. And it's also the belief that is keeping you stuck in your current reality.
