Speaker:

Hello and welcome to the Intermittent Fasting Gems with Jen Podcast.

Speaker:

I'm your host Jen, a middle-aged Michigan mama, wife, and teacher who

Speaker:

in 2021 stumbled upon this crazy cool thing called intermittent fasting.

Speaker:

And before I knew it.

Speaker:

I've lost 46 pounds in four months and gained an incredible lifestyle

Speaker:

filled with complete food freedom.

Speaker:

If you're hungry for unique, no nonsense fasting tips that actually

Speaker:

work, you're in the right place.

Speaker:

So whether you're walking the dog, folding that last load of laundry or cruising to

Speaker:

your nine to five, let's start fasting.

Speaker:

Our way to freedom together.

Speaker:

Welcome fasting friends.

Speaker:

So today we are chatting with Kylie Frazier, who lives in Klamath.

Speaker:

Falls Oregon and Kylie is, a teacher who, she has kind of a non-traditional

Speaker:

if f story that I am super excited to be here with you, Kylie.

Speaker:

So welcome.

Speaker:

Thank you so

Speaker:

Thank you so much.

Speaker:

I'm excited.

Speaker:

well.

Speaker:

All right, wonderful.

Speaker:

So I would like to start off Kylie by you telling us, basically what are

Speaker:

your top three wins with intermittent fasting, whether that be weight

Speaker:

loss or any non-scale victories, like improved sleep, more energy.

Speaker:

Go ahead, Kylie.

Speaker:

Um,

Speaker:

Um, yeah, so

Speaker:

I

Speaker:

say that.

Speaker:

story's a little bit

Speaker:

A little bit.

Speaker:

because intermittent fasting, um, both times it's kind of come into my life

Speaker:

hot and heavy is, um, after I had gone through a different weight loss journey.

Speaker:

Um, and then I've kind of used intermittent fasting as more of a

Speaker:

maintenance strategy, um, versus like coming to it specifically

Speaker:

for weight loss to begin with.

Speaker:

and so I feel like.

Speaker:

a way that's kind of made me hesitant to kind of share my, my side of things, just

Speaker:

in the sense of like, because it makes

Speaker:

Makes me almost feel like

Speaker:

fasts who have come and like lost weight with that.

Speaker:

Um, like, oh, well, you know, you already lost the weight and now

Speaker:

you're just using, I don't know.

Speaker:

And

Speaker:

no.

Speaker:

me.

Speaker:

Like I care too much about what people think.

Speaker:

So, um, anyway, so I guess, um, my weight loss journey kind of started.

Speaker:

Um, in college when I was still in college and I. my highest

Speaker:

weight I had ever recorded was 1

Speaker:

97.

Speaker:

And

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

And that was, I didn't.

Speaker:

super consistently.

Speaker:

Um, I'm five four, so not super tall.

Speaker:

Um, and so, but then there was, and I know people say this a lot, but

Speaker:

there was a photo, there was a moment.

Speaker:

'cause my mom has gone through all of the, you know, weight.

Speaker:

Things throughout her life.

Speaker:

And so I grew up kind of watching that.

Speaker:

And um, she always said she never pushed anything on me, which I appreciated.

Speaker:

But she always said like, if you ever want

Speaker:

Want help.

Speaker:

I'm willing to help you.

Speaker:

Like, I'll pay for your groceries if you want

Speaker:

Aw.

Speaker:

Like, just all that stuff.

Speaker:

So like, she was always willing help, but I just, of course was, you know, in

Speaker:

my, I'm going to eat whatever I want.

Speaker:

It doesn't matter.

Speaker:

And, um, anyway, so my

Speaker:

my sister, one of my younger sisters', 16

Speaker:

birthday, there was photos

Speaker:

was from that, and I was

Speaker:

Like

Speaker:

like mortifying because

Speaker:

I just, I

Speaker:

I just, I was the largest person in every photo and it just

Speaker:

being, you know, there's four of us

Speaker:

four of us daughters

Speaker:

my parents and my

Speaker:

and my

Speaker:

had gone

Speaker:

mom through one of weight.

Speaker:

weight loss journeys at that time.

Speaker:

So she was actually

Speaker:

That.

Speaker:

at that time.

Speaker:

Um, and then

Speaker:

and my dad has always

Speaker:

not

Speaker:

not really ever struggled super hard with his weight.

Speaker:

he can lose it really quickly 'cause men are.

Speaker:

Men

Speaker:

They are, I hear you.

Speaker:

And so, um, so that was really the photo and the time.

Speaker:

That was

Speaker:

That was

Speaker:

about, oh shoot, I'm not even gonna remember yours.

Speaker:

I should have written this down.

Speaker:

But that was probably

Speaker:

probably

Speaker:

2017 ish, I

Speaker:

ish, I wanna say.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

So how, how old would you have been then?

Speaker:

Because you, you're 29, is that right?

Speaker:

yes.

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

so I

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

So I would've been 20.

Speaker:

I'm like

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

So early twenties.

Speaker:

Early twenties, okay.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

that journey.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

23, 24 I was in college.

Speaker:

Um, so maybe, yeah.

Speaker:

'cause

Speaker:

Yeah,

Speaker:

uh, my first

Speaker:

my first teaching job, I went, I took abroad in Indonesia, so,

Speaker:

those that

Speaker:

those that about a year before I went to Indonesia was when I was

Speaker:

consulting with the nutritionist.

Speaker:

My mom came for that from me because she had a friend that was a nutritionist and,

Speaker:

and

Speaker:

and so she really helped me and I'm kind of the type person.

Speaker:

I discovered that like

Speaker:

I can

Speaker:

I can either really care or not

Speaker:

So like, and I always got good

Speaker:

good grades.

Speaker:

sense of like, just not caring, you know, eat whatever I want.

Speaker:

But then like, when I

Speaker:

When I finally decided to make that choice for myself,

Speaker:

my,

Speaker:

my, like the nutritionist, every week we have like a weekly meeting

Speaker:

and, and I would track everything and she had access to like,

Speaker:

and stuff like

Speaker:

oh yeah, okay.

Speaker:

And so

Speaker:

So she would,

Speaker:

I would,

Speaker:

I would, I just figured it out, figured out

Speaker:

figured out all that.

Speaker:

She

Speaker:

that

Speaker:

tips to start with, but then every time

Speaker:

time,

Speaker:

each week on the phone or

Speaker:

the, or whatever.

Speaker:

She'd like, well,

Speaker:

you're

Speaker:

you're doing great.

Speaker:

Everything.

Speaker:

You're still losing weight.

Speaker:

Like, I don't really know what to tell you.

Speaker:

Like, you're doing awesome.

Speaker:

I was

Speaker:

Aw,

Speaker:

yay.

Speaker:

it almost like a grade.

Speaker:

I dunno how I think about it.

Speaker:

Sure.

Speaker:

I wanted to

Speaker:

Wanted to get a good grade.

Speaker:

And

Speaker:

from that person.

Speaker:

I think that's the teacher in us, you know, the teacher in us.

Speaker:

I know.

Speaker:

So I was

Speaker:

I was actually.

Speaker:

but I was tracking everything.

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

after I lost the weight, um, when I, so, and then 2020 was when I

Speaker:

went over to Indonesia, so that

Speaker:

So that was right before everything.

Speaker:

So.

Speaker:

couldn't get over there for like a month later and long story,

Speaker:

But,

Speaker:

so.

Speaker:

being in an Asian country during COVID was

Speaker:

stressful,

Speaker:

Uh,

Speaker:

to say the

Speaker:

I bet.

Speaker:

Sure.

Speaker:

we

Speaker:

We were,

Speaker:

were

Speaker:

were fully online for almost 44 years,

Speaker:

um, before, you know,

Speaker:

you know, when everybody else was, come back and we tried

Speaker:

to come back a couple times,

Speaker:

and then people started getting sick and everybody

Speaker:

panic and

Speaker:

was shut

Speaker:

shut.

Speaker:

it

Speaker:

It was

Speaker:

it

Speaker:

Wow.

Speaker:

So how long were you in Indonesia then?

Speaker:

I was there for two and a

Speaker:

I was there for two and a half years.

Speaker:

20, 20, 21

Speaker:

20. 21 was the first one, two,

Speaker:

came back

Speaker:

and then I came back January of 23, so, okay.

Speaker:

and a half,

Speaker:

Two and a half

Speaker:

for

Speaker:

for,

Speaker:

reasons.

Speaker:

But

Speaker:

but long story short,

Speaker:

was

Speaker:

I was actually the smallest,

Speaker:

recorded adult life that I'd ever been, which I actually was kind of

Speaker:

glad about because now that I look back, everything else was super

Speaker:

stressful, but

Speaker:

I was able to, you know, wear swimsuits without feeling self-conscious and like,

Speaker:

you know, I was in a tropical country.

Speaker:

right.

Speaker:

everywhere.

Speaker:

I was doing all this stuff.

Speaker:

So when, so about a year, uh, maybe just a few months.

Speaker:

'cause we had a lot of downtime 'cause no one was on campus and, you know,

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

You know, and so Sure.

Speaker:

got to the

Speaker:

I finally got to the point of like, I,

Speaker:

food.

Speaker:

I hate it, I hate it.

Speaker:

I don't wanna gain

Speaker:

I don't wanna back.

Speaker:

to find something else like.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

I just have

Speaker:

I didn't have to and I was like, I don't, yeah.

Speaker:

So

Speaker:

had been

Speaker:

I had been following, um, bless her heart.

Speaker:

Her name is,

Speaker:

She actually

Speaker:

she actually is the,

Speaker:

of

Speaker:

of someone I went to

Speaker:

school

Speaker:

school.

Speaker:

Oh funny.

Speaker:

Oh, that's cute.

Speaker:

and I've been seeing little bits and pieces and so IF

Speaker:

and Beth is her Instagram.

Speaker:

that's cute.

Speaker:

she

Speaker:

She started

Speaker:

fasting and so

Speaker:

so

Speaker:

just sharing her journey

Speaker:

name

Speaker:

And

Speaker:

and so that was kind of my first

Speaker:

like.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

Introduction to it.

Speaker:

mom had seen that as well.

Speaker:

And so she got the book delay, don't deny

Speaker:

Yep.

Speaker:

repeat.

Speaker:

And so she's like, I bought these on Audible.

Speaker:

If you wanna listen

Speaker:

Listen to them.

Speaker:

I'll give you my login.

Speaker:

and so I was like, okay.

Speaker:

So when I was on my walks during the day, I would listen.

Speaker:

I listened to the books and um.

Speaker:

binge listened to 'em pretty much, um, both of 'em.

Speaker:

And

Speaker:

same.

Speaker:

I was like,

Speaker:

Well,

Speaker:

well yeah.

Speaker:

yeah.

Speaker:

so I was like,

Speaker:

Like, okay, well I guess this is what I'm doing.

Speaker:

So, and it

Speaker:

and it kind of came in with all

Speaker:

and everything in my

Speaker:

way in my life.

Speaker:

I kind of

Speaker:

it

Speaker:

hit it

Speaker:

hot and heavy.

Speaker:

because

Speaker:

I.

Speaker:

I

Speaker:

Was

Speaker:

was just,

Speaker:

I was done.

Speaker:

I was like, okay, well I'm

Speaker:

okay, I'm not

Speaker:

anymore.

Speaker:

right.

Speaker:

And I think I have started, so I started

Speaker:

an

Speaker:

eight, which

Speaker:

I realized very quickly that that was a long time and I really wasn't that hungry.

Speaker:

And so I

Speaker:

I pushed it pretty quickly.

Speaker:

I did like a half an hour per day or something down to at

Speaker:

Okay,

Speaker:

And then

Speaker:

good.

Speaker:

I think,

Speaker:

I think, yeah, I think when I first started I was still tracking

Speaker:

because I was trying to fit in.

Speaker:

all of my foods.

Speaker:

That I

Speaker:

Oh, right.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

hours.

Speaker:

And it was

Speaker:

It was so much.

Speaker:

Yep.

Speaker:

I

Speaker:

I can't do this.

Speaker:

so I was like, okay, you know what?

Speaker:

I'm just gonna stop tracking.

Speaker:

And I, I, it's kind of a blur just because of all the trauma and different

Speaker:

things I don't have to get into.

Speaker:

But um, all I remember is like that first

Speaker:

Summer I decided not to go back home.

Speaker:

Um,

Speaker:

Um, but everyone was gone

Speaker:

had entered a

Speaker:

and we major lockdown,

Speaker:

Um,

Speaker:

uh, getting,

Speaker:

So

Speaker:

so after everyone went home,

Speaker:

the

Speaker:

all the flight, all airports, all the grocery,

Speaker:

everything just like

Speaker:

just like shut

Speaker:

and it was

Speaker:

and it was like blackout.

Speaker:

So we were in our,

Speaker:

apartments

Speaker:

and

Speaker:

the

Speaker:

school had a pool, which nice and

Speaker:

was like five

Speaker:

five teachers that,

Speaker:

left behind that we

Speaker:

oh my goodness.

Speaker:

but then everyone was

Speaker:

Everyone afraid to hang out.

Speaker:

was,

Speaker:

Everyone.

Speaker:

trust their

Speaker:

Sure,

Speaker:

over there.

Speaker:

sure.

Speaker:

so

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

Even our Indonesian friends, like no one wanted to go anywhere or do anything, so

Speaker:

so that was a little depressing.

Speaker:

Um,

Speaker:

at the beginning of the

Speaker:

at the beginning of the summer, we tried to, the

Speaker:

the teachers that

Speaker:

teachers

Speaker:

kind of left behind

Speaker:

tried to get together.

Speaker:

once a week, and like each of us took turns making dinner.

Speaker:

And um, but overall I was kind of

Speaker:

I was,

Speaker:

So

Speaker:

so, I had started

Speaker:

looked up an

Speaker:

an exercise program and, um,

Speaker:

online.

Speaker:

I think it was like called like Pink Dragon or something,

Speaker:

or maybe it's different now, but Holly Dokey, she was like

Speaker:

she was like in, um,

Speaker:

I don't know, in a British.

Speaker:

Country of some

Speaker:

okay,

Speaker:

Um, but somehow I

Speaker:

I got connected with her.

Speaker:

workout program.

Speaker:

So I tried to keep that up and I tried to stay active, you

Speaker:

know, and not just sit at home.

Speaker:

Um,

Speaker:

but then

Speaker:

but then with that, obviously,

Speaker:

Could be a problem.

Speaker:

Um,

Speaker:

um, so I just kind of like, like, okay, whenever I'm hungry, whenever I'm bored

Speaker:

eating,

Speaker:

eating,

Speaker:

which

Speaker:

which tended to be around like 11 or no.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

I'm only

Speaker:

I'm eating eat two hours

Speaker:

I'm like, I'm not doing a

Speaker:

lot,

Speaker:

no

Speaker:

no matter when

Speaker:

like I'm gonna eat my big meal

Speaker:

eat my meal

Speaker:

and then I might eat a snack

Speaker:

snack.

Speaker:

if it was like 12 to two, great.

Speaker:

If it was, know,

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

if it was whatever.

Speaker:

Whatever.

Speaker:

And um,

Speaker:

Um,

Speaker:

to do that pretty well for that summer.

Speaker:

And so.

Speaker:

I guess one of the

Speaker:

one of the biggest things

Speaker:

I know this is kinda a long story, but

Speaker:

That's okay.

Speaker:

Would not counting not

Speaker:

my food.

Speaker:

That

Speaker:

okay.

Speaker:

blessing.

Speaker:

And then

Speaker:

And also flexibility.

Speaker:

Kind of

Speaker:

Sure.

Speaker:

And, um, and then, yeah,

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Just,

Speaker:

I

Speaker:

I guess,

Speaker:

clarity around like not having to stress about finding foods and stuff like that.

Speaker:

um.

Speaker:

And then,

Speaker:

but

Speaker:

but with the stress zone, I think this is kind of an important

Speaker:

Tidbit to say is that with the stress, my body kind of

Speaker:

My body kind of had a weird time adjusting.

Speaker:

fasting

Speaker:

like

Speaker:

days would work

Speaker:

those things would work pretty well.

Speaker:

There would be some

Speaker:

I would think I was doing fine and then

Speaker:

fine

Speaker:

I don't know if it was the humidity or

Speaker:

humidity or whatever.

Speaker:

would hit a

Speaker:

I would a where I just

Speaker:

Like I

Speaker:

like, I felt souse

Speaker:

felt, and I just like

Speaker:

wasn't prepared.

Speaker:

And um,

Speaker:

And um, usually I

Speaker:

usually I.

Speaker:

least for the first little bit and then I would always be so mad like, dang it,

Speaker:

like I thought my body was adapted and you know, but there was just, there was so

Speaker:

much else going on mentally I was at the

Speaker:

Lowest

Speaker:

Point and getting to be the lowest point, um, in my entire life.

Speaker:

And

Speaker:

my entire life.

Speaker:

And so that

Speaker:

was so much more going on, so I'm glad I didn't like give up on

Speaker:

Sure.

Speaker:

there

Speaker:

I know there so many stories.

Speaker:

seen that have gone over in Indonesia as well, that have like gained weight over

Speaker:

the three years that they were there.

Speaker:

'cause it's, it's tricky

Speaker:

Absolutely.

Speaker:

stress in that sense, you know?

Speaker:

And so I feel

Speaker:

So I feel like it's a flexible tool I use

Speaker:

and in that time, even though I was

Speaker:

even though not,

Speaker:

you know,

Speaker:

you know?

Speaker:

like, but at least like that really did help me maintain my weight.

Speaker:

and

Speaker:

And so,

Speaker:

I

Speaker:

so were you still in Indonesia when you got it down to the two hour window?

Speaker:

Yeah, I,

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

really

Speaker:

Yeah, that's what I thought.

Speaker:

So, and that was

Speaker:

and that was just for the summer because I was home.

Speaker:

like, if I don't

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

was using the app at the time, so I was using the simple

Speaker:

app, but it's changed a lot.

Speaker:

I've seen some recent ads for it, but that was a few years ago.

Speaker:

Um,

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

Before that I really enjoyed that one.

Speaker:

It wasn't paid.

Speaker:

um, because I was desperate and I was like, you know what?

Speaker:

Screw it.

Speaker:

Like, I'm just gonna do it.

Speaker:

But,

Speaker:

do it.

Speaker:

But, um,

Speaker:

For however many months or whatever, I dunno.

Speaker:

okay.

Speaker:

it was

Speaker:

But.

Speaker:

because

Speaker:

really cool because it,

Speaker:

the

Speaker:

it had milestones,

Speaker:

milestones, I dunno if that's right, the word, but, um,

Speaker:

um,

Speaker:

like

Speaker:

so like after a certain

Speaker:

amount of time it

Speaker:

time it would tell you,

Speaker:

you know, burning fat or it

Speaker:

or tell

Speaker:

or you

Speaker:

or

Speaker:

know,

Speaker:

Sure.

Speaker:

That was

Speaker:

and kind of like a little game like, oh, you know, how long can I be

Speaker:

in autophagy before I have to eat?

Speaker:

And like all that stuff.

Speaker:

and

Speaker:

so,

Speaker:

Yeah, so

Speaker:

So that,

Speaker:

did I think, help keep me accountable.

Speaker:

So that's

Speaker:

how.

Speaker:

able to do the two hours.

Speaker:

'cause I was like, okay, I'm gonna start it, open my window, and

Speaker:

then once that window's closed, like I'm not opening it again.

Speaker:

And it was

Speaker:

when a lot of us started, um, when I started, uh, back in 2021 and

Speaker:

started my Facebook group, we all were on the life app and it did all

Speaker:

of that cool stuff that you just talked about and it was actually free.

Speaker:

And we had like our, our.

Speaker:

hearing about that too late, but.

Speaker:

It was nice, but they don't have it anymore.

Speaker:

And so I swear every time I have a new podcast guest on,

Speaker:

I'm like, what are you using?

Speaker:

Um, we're using, um, I think it's easy, fast right now,

Speaker:

and it's been, it's been fine.

Speaker:

It, it, you know, it's free and it does what it needs to do, but yeah,

Speaker:

it's not, it's not, but it's not as, nothing in my opinion will be

Speaker:

ever be as good as the life app was.

Speaker:

That was just awesome.

Speaker:

But yeah.

Speaker:

binge to listen to all

Speaker:

To

Speaker:

to your

Speaker:

your podcast

Speaker:

two weeks.

Speaker:

Um, and so

Speaker:

You did.

Speaker:

The one guy, yeah.

Speaker:

And so well that's, that'll, that'll come in again.

Speaker:

But that one

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

the app, I kind of, I downloaded that app.

Speaker:

I haven't looked at it yet, but I was curious about

Speaker:

Sean

Speaker:

or whatever

Speaker:

Sean.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

It took me a, a bit to learn how to pronounce his name correctly, so

Speaker:

I still, uh, he was just adorable.

Speaker:

It's just adorable.

Speaker:

Um, yeah.

Speaker:

But yeah, so yeah, that's definitely a topic that seems to get brought up

Speaker:

every time I have a new, new guest on.

Speaker:

'cause we're all searching for that really awesome free one that does all

Speaker:

of the, you know, has all the bells and whistles and all that stuff.

Speaker:

So, but,

Speaker:

yeah.

Speaker:

Well,

Speaker:

uh, that's super cool.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

helped

Speaker:

me.

Speaker:

Sorry.

Speaker:

go ahead.

Speaker:

No, go ahead.

Speaker:

Go ahead.

Speaker:

I didn't wanna cut you off.

Speaker:

So when you, would you say, so right now you're still, are you fasting currently?

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

Yeah,

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

Yeah, so I guess kind of

Speaker:

a

Speaker:

continue my story a little bit.

Speaker:

Yeah,

Speaker:

I'll try to

Speaker:

I'll try to speed it up.

Speaker:

Oh, you are fine.

Speaker:

of details, but,

Speaker:

You're fine.

Speaker:

So,

Speaker:

fast

Speaker:

of fast forward a little bit, so when I,

Speaker:

leaving of Indonesia again, I was there for two and a half years

Speaker:

okay.

Speaker:

started

Speaker:

I started that third year and I was

Speaker:

that I could

Speaker:

that I do it and I was in a much worse place

Speaker:

mentally than I had anticipated.

Speaker:

And there

Speaker:

anticipated and there was

Speaker:

things that was going

Speaker:

other things that was going on.

Speaker:

Sure.

Speaker:

and all that stuff.

Speaker:

And so anyway, that put me

Speaker:

that put into

Speaker:

was an empty shell of a person.

Speaker:

And so by

Speaker:

so time.

Speaker:

I just finally talked to the.

Speaker:

You know, heads or whatever, and I was like, um, I have to

Speaker:

leave after Christmas break.

Speaker:

Like, um, I just need to.

Speaker:

And so I ended up leaving early, which

Speaker:

Which that was a huge torment on my body and my mind because

Speaker:

have

Speaker:

I never

Speaker:

anything early or anything like that.

Speaker:

anything like that.

Speaker:

you

Speaker:

I, you know, am a very dedicated person.

Speaker:

I always

Speaker:

the

Speaker:

followed,

Speaker:

I've all, you know,

Speaker:

you know,

Speaker:

and it just felt so weird because it felt like everybody's energy

Speaker:

towards

Speaker:

like shifted.

Speaker:

Like when I dec

Speaker:

Sure.

Speaker:

I was leaving, I was

Speaker:

Was like,

Speaker:

really exiled, but it just kind of felt like

Speaker:

felt like OST

Speaker:

you know,

Speaker:

know.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

okay, she's gone.

Speaker:

Like, okay, bye.

Speaker:

You

Speaker:

Bye.

Speaker:

And

Speaker:

Aw,

Speaker:

so that was

Speaker:

that was really hard.

Speaker:

And so it was a really tough.

Speaker:

Time, that whole transition back to the US And so when I got back, I was

Speaker:

I was completely

Speaker:

teaching.

Speaker:

teaching.

Speaker:

not

Speaker:

I not even

Speaker:

think I

Speaker:

think I wanted to foot.

Speaker:

and the Salem area in Oregon.

Speaker:

If

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

are from Oregon,

Speaker:

Sure.

Speaker:

Um,

Speaker:

for any, honestly any

Speaker:

honestly, big that was worried about post COVID

Speaker:

just a

Speaker:

just,

Speaker:

And I, you

Speaker:

yeah.

Speaker:

was, I

Speaker:

Was, I talked to one of my professors from college because

Speaker:

the

Speaker:

program

Speaker:

we, it's kind of connected through the

Speaker:

university, and so I was just,

Speaker:

why I came back early and all that

Speaker:

all that stuff.

Speaker:

was like, yeah, that

Speaker:

He like, yeah.

Speaker:

Like we've been hearing a lot of stuff about that.

Speaker:

And he's like, honestly, if you have any doubts about teaching.

Speaker:

Like, 'cause he

Speaker:

Teaching.

Speaker:

for schools in the district and he was like, don't do it.

Speaker:

He's like, it is

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Like, he's like, I'm gonna be honest with you.

Speaker:

You, you.

Speaker:

great.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

It's rough

Speaker:

that taught me how to be a teacher

Speaker:

how to be a teacher.

Speaker:

to go, you know?

Speaker:

No, it was

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

so, but I

Speaker:

And so, but I mean,

Speaker:

time of self discovery trying to

Speaker:

trying to figure, you know,

Speaker:

is going

Speaker:

what's going on in,

Speaker:

And so

Speaker:

so

Speaker:

Falls, if anyone

Speaker:

anyone know

Speaker:

little

Speaker:

little town on the border of California almost.

Speaker:

And, um,

Speaker:

my

Speaker:

my sister

Speaker:

lived, my oldest

Speaker:

my oldest has lived here for

Speaker:

11 or 12 years.

Speaker:

And,

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

Um, and came to visit her

Speaker:

um, one, one week and

Speaker:

and she was like, you know, it's pretty chill out here.

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

I have

Speaker:

I have teachers

Speaker:

that are teachers.

Speaker:

And

Speaker:

that are teachers and

Speaker:

was

Speaker:

Aw.

Speaker:

So I got

Speaker:

I got certified to,

Speaker:

out in

Speaker:

in

Speaker:

area, and I have been here, this is my third year of

Speaker:

of substituting because every and since I have my license, I've been

Speaker:

of

Speaker:

able long term position.

Speaker:

Sure.

Speaker:

And with that though, getting to know

Speaker:

kind

Speaker:

kind of

Speaker:

in the area.

Speaker:

And

Speaker:

mm-hmm.

Speaker:

you know,

Speaker:

You know, almost every

Speaker:

I was in, in this.

Speaker:

closer

Speaker:

the

Speaker:

to the city

Speaker:

I was

Speaker:

I was

Speaker:

Like my

Speaker:

like, like.

Speaker:

are up, I'm leaving.

Speaker:

Like I'm not gonna, you know, and so none of my positions until now.

Speaker:

Um, as I've made my way further out into the county,

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

the rural schools, so the actually little town I live in is like 700 people and it's

Speaker:

the teeny, tiniest little school now, and

Speaker:

Oh wow.

Speaker:

So this

Speaker:

Oh, good.

Speaker:

After three years that I've been in that I actually feel like, you know,

Speaker:

so

Speaker:

so in that time

Speaker:

I

Speaker:

I went

Speaker:

very toxic relationship.

Speaker:

Um, and I, it was

Speaker:

it was my first kind of

Speaker:

And so I had

Speaker:

intermittent fasting and I still was,

Speaker:

um,

Speaker:

um, when I was,

Speaker:

and

Speaker:

he, um, was kind of understanding at first

Speaker:

he was

Speaker:

very,

Speaker:

he had a

Speaker:

he

Speaker:

with

Speaker:

of issues with you.

Speaker:

own brain

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

so.

Speaker:

I feel like my doing that.

Speaker:

I never

Speaker:

I never told him

Speaker:

do it and I'm just like, was open if you wanted to talk about it,

Speaker:

talk about it, but like,

Speaker:

saw that as like.

Speaker:

A threat.

Speaker:

Like, you know, every

Speaker:

oh,

Speaker:

eating or like, not

Speaker:

wasn't eating or like

Speaker:

like he was, it made him uncomfortable just

Speaker:

Sure, sure.

Speaker:

like, I don't

Speaker:

You know, like, I dunno.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

flags I should have seen, but it's fine.

Speaker:

Um, we're, we, we learned a lot.

Speaker:

We're moving on, but No.

Speaker:

So that my, so I was with him for about two years and I. Still pretty much

Speaker:

kept my intermittent fasting schedule.

Speaker:

Um, but there was a

Speaker:

But there was a lot of, definitely

Speaker:

So like

Speaker:

like usually my regular schedule is like,

Speaker:

my first meal until after the kids leave, so about two 30

Speaker:

ish, depending on the school,

Speaker:

okay, that wa good.

Speaker:

That was my next question.

Speaker:

So what's your, your, your, your main routine?

Speaker:

Yeah, go ahead.

Speaker:

Yeah,

Speaker:

Yeah, so

Speaker:

so usually.

Speaker:

much kept it up to, um, on average about two 30 ish will be

Speaker:

like my first snack, um, right, like right after the kids leave.

Speaker:

And then, you know, we have meetings,

Speaker:

You know,

Speaker:

and then get home around

Speaker:

get home around four.

Speaker:

and then I'll usually

Speaker:

I'll usually wanna walk or,

Speaker:

do something and

Speaker:

you know, do something.

Speaker:

And around five, I try to get done by six.

Speaker:

ideally,

Speaker:

Ideally, I'd love to be done by five 30

Speaker:

by seven 30 most

Speaker:

times.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

So,

Speaker:

at least.

Speaker:

yeah, two hours.

Speaker:

I, and I've

Speaker:

And I've noticed that I,

Speaker:

eat later, whatever, like if I'm not done eating, like last night, if

Speaker:

I wasn't done eating until six 30, just 'cause of other things going on

Speaker:

mm-hmm.

Speaker:

I didn't sleep as well, like I just, I had

Speaker:

Yeah,

Speaker:

like it, it's weird how it impacts that.

Speaker:

So

Speaker:

it really does.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Like at

Speaker:

So it sounds like, I mean, it sounds like you're pretty close to a 20

Speaker:

and four or like a warrior diet type, uh, routine or schedule.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

That sounds like it's work.

Speaker:

So do you want to share, um, like your, how much weight you

Speaker:

did lose over what time or.

Speaker:

So that's why it's tricky because I, so when I was 1 97, my lowest

Speaker:

point I got down to was about 1 48 when I was in Indonesia.

Speaker:

I kind of stayed around that

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

then when I was

Speaker:

When I was with him, I did not,

Speaker:

was another thing is he like kept wanting me to weigh, like he, I think

Speaker:

he just, he was cur like he, I feel

Speaker:

I feel like he was curious about intermittent fasting.

Speaker:

he had a very different idea, his philosophy on health was, I

Speaker:

can work out for three hours at the gym and eat whatever I want.

Speaker:

I was like,

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

no.

Speaker:

Uh, so we

Speaker:

So

Speaker:

different philosophies.

Speaker:

very different philosophy.

Speaker:

So I think

Speaker:

like, oh, I just do, I'm like, no.

Speaker:

Like I, you know, gin says I shouldn't

Speaker:

says

Speaker:

but

Speaker:

myself,

Speaker:

gonna

Speaker:

I know it's gonna make,

Speaker:

unhappy or whatever.

Speaker:

And so I didn't for the longest time.

Speaker:

And so

Speaker:

and so I finally,

Speaker:

then.

Speaker:

I did gain weight when I was with him, and, um, and I gained, now

Speaker:

I know about 30, about 30 pounds.

Speaker:

okay.

Speaker:

Um.

Speaker:

the time I got back from Indonesia to the time that I had a new

Speaker:

opportunity enter my life after I

Speaker:

After

Speaker:

him.

Speaker:

Um, I had a

Speaker:

I had a person in my life.

Speaker:

any names just in case, but

Speaker:

Sure.

Speaker:

I had a person in my life who was doing,

Speaker:

the, you know, um, I don't know if you know about the

Speaker:

uh oh.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

it's kind of

Speaker:

Kind of like,

Speaker:

but it was

Speaker:

okay.

Speaker:

so ozempic.

Speaker:

Um, there's a lot of side effects and things like that.

Speaker:

'cause it's not meant for

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

right?

Speaker:

It's for those with like insulin problems and stuff of that.

Speaker:

And so all

Speaker:

So all these different,

Speaker:

glide, um, shots and things have come out that work

Speaker:

better

Speaker:

for

Speaker:

for people,

Speaker:

side effects and

Speaker:

side effects and all that.

Speaker:

So that's,

Speaker:

So this

Speaker:

so this

Speaker:

in my

Speaker:

well person in

Speaker:

she was feeling

Speaker:

she

Speaker:

Then, um, eventually her doctor

Speaker:

doctor told

Speaker:

issue with her pancreas, so she had to stop taking it.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

just bought a new bottle and they were like $500 a bottle.

Speaker:

And so she was like, I can't send it

Speaker:

Can send it back.

Speaker:

My friends wanna try it for cheaper.

Speaker:

Like

Speaker:

just, do you want it, like, do you wanna try

Speaker:

do you want it, like you wanna try it like you don't have to.

Speaker:

Like I'm not

Speaker:

to,

Speaker:

to,

Speaker:

I was like,

Speaker:

I was like,

Speaker:

was so

Speaker:

I was so hesitant because I never thought I would do anything.

Speaker:

you know what?

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

a

Speaker:

Be a good way to get myself

Speaker:

and I already had my healthy eating.

Speaker:

After breaking up with him and getting back on my regular schedule, I was

Speaker:

Sure.

Speaker:

good habits in place and that's why she

Speaker:

And that's why she thought it would be a good way to kind of keep me

Speaker:

motivated and get me

Speaker:

and get me going.

Speaker:

Um, and

Speaker:

and so, yeah, so I,

Speaker:

and I

Speaker:

and I,

Speaker:

with my

Speaker:

with my intermittent fasting schedule of four hours, I ended up losing

Speaker:

fast.

Speaker:

fast and lost about 16 pounds in the first month.

Speaker:

Um, or

Speaker:

Or like three or four weeks.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

So she was like, uh, you should probably eat

Speaker:

on

Speaker:

on this.

Speaker:

And so I added an extra snack.

Speaker:

noon.

Speaker:

So I was

Speaker:

So eating.

Speaker:

eating a snack right after the kids left.

Speaker:

And

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

dinner, making sure

Speaker:

High

Speaker:

protein, high,

Speaker:

high, whatever.

Speaker:

so

Speaker:

And so that was just so much.

Speaker:

I hated having to think about

Speaker:

to

Speaker:

that.

Speaker:

and like all that stuff,

Speaker:

Sure, sure.

Speaker:

with

Speaker:

I, with it, um,

Speaker:

so

Speaker:

yeah.

Speaker:

So I just took my last dose about two weeks ago,

Speaker:

And so

Speaker:

and so I'm now officially my lowest,

Speaker:

my

Speaker:

my

Speaker:

weight, I just, um, between about like

Speaker:

40 46. Okay.

Speaker:

Um, and so.

Speaker:

and so

Speaker:

Obviously now

Speaker:

now that I'm off of it, I'm like, okay, I'm gonna have to, you know, go back to,

Speaker:

I was

Speaker:

I, I was afraid was gonna be difficult to get.

Speaker:

fasting schedule.

Speaker:

And so I was like, you

Speaker:

I was like, you know what,

Speaker:

go and try to find some motivation.

Speaker:

And I almost went

Speaker:

almost back to

Speaker:

which are great.

Speaker:

are great,

Speaker:

your

Speaker:

but

Speaker:

came up.

Speaker:

And that was, that was about a month ago.

Speaker:

about a month ago, and I was like.

Speaker:

there was a health and wellness challenge at school, uh, for a bingo.

Speaker:

So like you can, you know, get all the bingos, one of the bingo squares was

Speaker:

listen to a health podcast or whatever.

Speaker:

So I'm like, you know what?

Speaker:

Like, here's this one.

Speaker:

And so I started listening to your podcast and I

Speaker:

That is, so

Speaker:

to that in two weeks.

Speaker:

started doing the nasty drinks.

Speaker:

Um, so I opened my window with that.

Speaker:

No matter how much it makes me wanna puke, you said it would get easier.

Speaker:

But

Speaker:

is it getting easier?

Speaker:

No, but you know what's amazing?

Speaker:

It's

Speaker:

What?

Speaker:

is that it, it is disgusting.

Speaker:

And I literally, my coworkers laugh at me 'cause I gag

Speaker:

every time I have to drink it.

Speaker:

I chug it.

Speaker:

So like, I'm chugging like, like uh, soda water, which like obviously

Speaker:

doesn't, takes a minute to settle

Speaker:

And so like

Speaker:

So.

Speaker:

when I first started drinking, I was kind of taking it around 1 1 30.

Speaker:

'cause I had still had my like 12 eating window.

Speaker:

after I was getting off and so the kids were like laughing at me

Speaker:

'cause I was like, guys smell this.

Speaker:

And they're like, they, I made one of my kids smell it and

Speaker:

she was like, oh, what is that?

Speaker:

so gross.

Speaker:

Anyway, so I'm still taking it, but what's amazing is it works, it,

Speaker:

I know

Speaker:

to

Speaker:

it does.

Speaker:

it's

Speaker:

It does.

Speaker:

I thought it would be kind of scary 'cause vinegar on an empty

Speaker:

stomach kind of sounds weird to me.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

so, but it doesn't really bother me until, well after the initial drinking of

Speaker:

What are you,

Speaker:

mm-hmm.

Speaker:

what, what ki what are you mixing with?

Speaker:

Are you mixing it with sparkling water or

Speaker:

Yeah, I, I

Speaker:

what kind?

Speaker:

your phone.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

I know that's citrus.

Speaker:

I, I've been listening, I've been taking it.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

I'm just

Speaker:

the lime, ginger.

Speaker:

Water is what

Speaker:

water is what I started with.

Speaker:

like ginger, so I don't know why I started with that.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

Recommended first,

Speaker:

nix year or whatever.

Speaker:

And so I did not like that.

Speaker:

like

Speaker:

switched

Speaker:

I

Speaker:

to just

Speaker:

Regular

Speaker:

lemon

Speaker:

lemon.

Speaker:

um, it got a little bit better.

Speaker:

It did.

Speaker:

But now, but it still was like, it's, it's literally, and when I

Speaker:

go to like, make the drink, like mix it in the morning to be able to

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

I, it's when I, soon as o open the apostle vinegar bottle, like I smell

Speaker:

Smell.

Speaker:

cool.

Speaker:

So why you should be, you're not making the, you're not making the cubes.

Speaker:

No,

Speaker:

No, I haven't

Speaker:

I

Speaker:

Do you have a little, not much.

Speaker:

Do you have a fridge at work?

Speaker:

'cause that is so easy.

Speaker:

You just make, I just make up the cubes.

Speaker:

They pop it out and then you add your sparkling water.

Speaker:

It's really not that.

Speaker:

I know.

Speaker:

It's not that.

Speaker:

of a, I don't mind making it every morning.

Speaker:

I just,

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

I'm just saying like every time I smell the outside of vinegar, I

Speaker:

don't know what it is, but it works.

Speaker:

It works.

Speaker:

I know

Speaker:

it's

Speaker:

it's gonna, it hasn't been too long then if you've said, you know,

Speaker:

it's only been a couple weeks.

Speaker:

Right?

Speaker:

So give, give it, let's give it three more weeks and then,

Speaker:

then you're gonna be craving it.

Speaker:

Uh, Kylie.

Speaker:

like I'm still taking it.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

it.

Speaker:

That, and then another one of your tips is like ending my window with

Speaker:

some, with, I've been ending it with a half an avocado almost every night.

Speaker:

Either adding the avocado into my dinner or just eating half an avocado,

Speaker:

which I never used to eat before.

Speaker:

And that I feel like really helps too,

Speaker:

Yeah, if you end with a healthy fat, um, it, it makes, it really

Speaker:

does help you pretty much sail into that next, you know, fasting hour.

Speaker:

It just makes you, it makes it so much easier to push through.

Speaker:

So, yeah.

Speaker:

Good.

Speaker:

So

Speaker:

been, those have been some tips

Speaker:

that's been.

Speaker:

gained from your podcast.

Speaker:

I

Speaker:

good.

Speaker:

doing that,

Speaker:

Thank you for sharing that.

Speaker:

It's always nice to,

Speaker:

yes.

Speaker:

that people are, you know, um, they're benefiting and it's

Speaker:

working for 'em, so that's awesome.

Speaker:

Um, I like orange now, actually, and I no longer do the, um, it's been

Speaker:

five years now, I've been doing it, so orange is probably my favorite.

Speaker:

Orange LaCroix you ever tried grapefruit?

Speaker:

Because I'm

Speaker:

no.

Speaker:

I, I don't like grapefruit, so I won't do that.

Speaker:

a Costco pack and it has the

Speaker:

Lemon.

Speaker:

because it was like 35 for like

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

or whatever the lemon, the lime,

Speaker:

Lime and grapefruit.

Speaker:

My, my husband mixes his with grapefruit and he really likes it, but

Speaker:

I, but I don't like grapefruit, so.

Speaker:

So give it a try.

Speaker:

If it's in the,

Speaker:

so

Speaker:

well, there you go.

Speaker:

But

Speaker:

But yes.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

I'll try that.

Speaker:

you know,

Speaker:

That's good.

Speaker:

that goes.

Speaker:

But yes,

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

So I guess, okay.

Speaker:

Summarizing that

Speaker:

that.

Speaker:

Yeah, so my three, my top three wins, not counting calories, but I just said that.

Speaker:

Flexibility,

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

like, and just kind of freed

Speaker:

Time because of that

Speaker:

to think about tracking and eating everything all

Speaker:

all day.

Speaker:

And then the last thing, I think

Speaker:

one of my top three wins is pinpointing how specific foods really impact my body.

Speaker:

which is kind of.

Speaker:

Interesting because I have learned, like when I was with, well, okay,

Speaker:

my ex was Chinese and so he had rice, a lot of rice all the time.

Speaker:

Every time

Speaker:

time.

Speaker:

Go visit.

Speaker:

like I would feel so sick like that whole time, even if

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

kept my intermittent fasting schedule and I think it was the rice or I thought

Speaker:

Bought

Speaker:

or

Speaker:

or something

Speaker:

I wouldn't

Speaker:

and I wouldn't really eat a rice,

Speaker:

and I

Speaker:

but, and I never rice in because my,

Speaker:

it, same thing.

Speaker:

Um.

Speaker:

um,

Speaker:

But I've

Speaker:

but I noticed

Speaker:

a

Speaker:

I bought a bottle,

Speaker:

rice

Speaker:

rice

Speaker:

and

Speaker:

and I,

Speaker:

ate that for about three days.

Speaker:

'cause I just, I don't eat the whole thing at once and that's why I just added

Speaker:

it to my meal and it never bothered me.

Speaker:

And so like, I think there's just

Speaker:

so

Speaker:

the white

Speaker:

rice.

Speaker:

Rice.

Speaker:

And.

Speaker:

rice sometimes.

Speaker:

And like brown rice and quinoa by itself is fine.

Speaker:

But I have a brown rice quinoa pack mix that kind of makes

Speaker:

me feel bloated and gross.

Speaker:

And, um, so, but the bosma has not.

Speaker:

Bothered me.

Speaker:

So that's been interesting to figure out.

Speaker:

And then, um, but yeah, just, I mean,

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

foods like that, but just pinpointing

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

It makes you

Speaker:

to different

Speaker:

more, definitely more mindful of those foods and yeah, I cannot have rice either.

Speaker:

Um, I just do cauliflower rice now and I mix it with.

Speaker:

You know, like, um, some herb, like urban onion, uh, cream cheese and put it on

Speaker:

the stove and put in some butter and some little bit of heavy whip whipping cream.

Speaker:

Make it like a risotto.

Speaker:

It's very, very good.

Speaker:

Green onions and stuff like that.

Speaker:

Have you been to my, um, have you been to my, uh, recipe site?

Speaker:

Well, it's okay.

Speaker:

That's the

Speaker:

part

Speaker:

part for me.

Speaker:

I hate cooking,

Speaker:

So.

Speaker:

I, I keep it as

Speaker:

It as simple as possible, but Okay.

Speaker:

I tried

Speaker:

I tried in the past week

Speaker:

I knew I was gonna talk to you.

Speaker:

I tried like or

Speaker:

three or four.

Speaker:

that I hadn't

Speaker:

I haven't tried yet.

Speaker:

Because I started listening to intermittent fasting stories after

Speaker:

your podcast ended, not ended, but I

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

of what I was doing and so

Speaker:

Jen.

Speaker:

Jen, Jen

Speaker:

Jen, I know.

Speaker:

It's, it's close.

Speaker:

And so she has actually like really good de detail details.

Speaker:

I cannot talk

Speaker:

It's okay.

Speaker:

going

Speaker:

Oh, okay.

Speaker:

And so I did the math and I was like, okay, like my groceries, I've

Speaker:

tried to have a budget for the month.

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

all these discounts like.

Speaker:

If that's probably less than what I would spend if I went to the store.

Speaker:

So I'm trying it.

Speaker:

I, I got my first box today of Marley's Poon.

Speaker:

I haven't made the meal yet, but

Speaker:

so I'm assuming that's a meal delivery, like Green Chef, which I use.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

Awesome.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

I haven't heard of that one.

Speaker:

Cool.

Speaker:

I want to get

Speaker:

Get, get

Speaker:

to actually put more effort into my food.

Speaker:

So most of the time my food is

Speaker:

I.

Speaker:

some sort of meat that I have, like chicken, salmon, whatever,

Speaker:

and then veggie, and then a

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

so that it's more interesting.

Speaker:

Interesting.

Speaker:

So

Speaker:

clean, but

Speaker:

clean, but

Speaker:

part, like, I just, I've never loved cooking and I've always wanted to figure

Speaker:

to figure out how to like it better.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

at it.

Speaker:

Like, I'm good at cooking, don't like

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

So that, that was one of my questions.

Speaker:

Just, you know, what are you generally going towards?

Speaker:

So you're keeping it pretty simple it sounds like.

Speaker:

Yeah, and just everything,

Speaker:

Yeah, and just everything.

Speaker:

ex and that was last June.

Speaker:

And so, um, since then I've

Speaker:

Since then, I've really kind

Speaker:

in all my other areas of life.

Speaker:

And so getting eating clean, I

Speaker:

good.

Speaker:

I deleted Facebook and Instagram.

Speaker:

I,

Speaker:

know,

Speaker:

yeah, absolutely.

Speaker:

getting, cleaning up my life here.

Speaker:

'cause I live, uh, the place I live right now, like it was all.

Speaker:

God, like, I'm just gonna say that like all of

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

things that lined up.

Speaker:

Lined up, up.

Speaker:

I live on the

Speaker:

of a

Speaker:

side of a mountain with a view

Speaker:

valley.

Speaker:

I see

Speaker:

Aw.

Speaker:

And

Speaker:

and every,

Speaker:

sunset, and I'm just like, it's the most

Speaker:

most

Speaker:

perfect place I've ever lived in TV downtown.

Speaker:

it.

Speaker:

It makes you put things into perspective.

Speaker:

I, I can imagine.

Speaker:

So I, well, that the thing is like, I never used to like

Speaker:

exercise and I know that's,

Speaker:

question that comes up later,

Speaker:

yeah.

Speaker:

out here and

Speaker:

And

Speaker:

I

Speaker:

I got into walking, right,

Speaker:

before I broke up with him.

Speaker:

And so I was really trying to add that back into my

Speaker:

schedule and it just was tough.

Speaker:

And we lived in the city or in town and, um, the bigger town.

Speaker:

Um, and so, but

Speaker:

So

Speaker:

I moved out here, like you'd

Speaker:

like, you literally walk your door and walk up,

Speaker:

go on any hike you want to, and like,

Speaker:

like,

Speaker:

you not?

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

how could you not?

Speaker:

know,

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

really

Speaker:

You know, so that's really motivated me and I

Speaker:

no matter which way I go,

Speaker:

go,

Speaker:

so

Speaker:

know.

Speaker:

hill

Speaker:

Sure.

Speaker:

you know, even walking, just walking every day, like that's really motivated me.

Speaker:

And then I've started walking with

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And so I started with three

Speaker:

Oh, good.

Speaker:

then I went up to five pounds and now I go to, I'm at six pounds.

Speaker:

And so I just do some like, you know, arm movements while I'm walking.

Speaker:

'cause I don't like to take the time to do separate free weight workouts.

Speaker:

So I just

Speaker:

So how often would you say you work out, um,

Speaker:

I try

Speaker:

you know, per week

Speaker:

every day.

Speaker:

day?

Speaker:

I try to go on a

Speaker:

Nice.

Speaker:

day 'cause my dog, um, so she doesn't really go far from the house unless I'm

Speaker:

walking out there with her, which is

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

But, um, and then, so I try to at least a mile, but usually

Speaker:

two miles if from most days.

Speaker:

And then, um, and then every other day-ish I'll walk with my weights.

Speaker:

Um, and

Speaker:

Oh good.

Speaker:

yeah, I try to

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

a break.

Speaker:

I was doing almost

Speaker:

Doing almost every day, but

Speaker:

just felt like

Speaker:

it's a little much, probably.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

and

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And um,

Speaker:

carrying them.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

So, and then I guess I get my three pound, those fit like nothing

Speaker:

now, but, so, um, but yeah, so

Speaker:

oh, very good.

Speaker:

All right.

Speaker:

little boost in my workouts.

Speaker:

And so now

Speaker:

Absolutely

Speaker:

I got a vibration plate,

Speaker:

plate.

Speaker:

Oh, okay.

Speaker:

I've never tried that.

Speaker:

I, yeah, and it just, I, you know, I'd heard good things and, um, it

Speaker:

just kind of, so in the evenings after I eat dinner, I try to do squats.

Speaker:

Sounds funny.

Speaker:

But, um, so

Speaker:

No.

Speaker:

like 50 squats or whatever with my weights on the vibration plate.

Speaker:

And then I've really gotten into lymphatic massage, lymphatic drainage, so really

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

And so there's a girl on YouTube and I first got, before I deleted

Speaker:

Instagram, um, she was on there.

Speaker:

But like called the specific seven.

Speaker:

So there's the seven.

Speaker:

Her name's Dr. Caitlin that she goes by on, um, which I don't know where her last

Speaker:

name is, but every time she has a video.

Speaker:

Um, but so the specific

Speaker:

Specific.

Speaker:

areas and just like massaging those and I feel like that's really helped with

Speaker:

like just fluid retention and obviously

Speaker:

My, my husband swears by that.

Speaker:

He swears by that.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

It's really helped him.

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

so, so just all, so then, and that's why I'm

Speaker:

That's why I'm like,

Speaker:

feel afraid to share my story.

Speaker:

'cause I'm single don't have a

Speaker:

don't

Speaker:

I just have this time to like get these routines down.

Speaker:

But again, like it started five years ago with, you know, the weight

Speaker:

loss and then intermittent fasting.

Speaker:

I'm like, this has been, so whenever people are like, oh my

Speaker:

gosh, I could never do all of that.

Speaker:

You know, I'm just like.

Speaker:

just like,

Speaker:

is my fifth year of adding in all of these different strategies,

Speaker:

yeah.

Speaker:

And that's it.

Speaker:

You.

Speaker:

just have to start somewhere.

Speaker:

Like, just

Speaker:

You have to start and you just have to, you know, kind of, it's a bunch of trial.

Speaker:

I say this all the time, but it's trial and error until you figure

Speaker:

out the things that work for you.

Speaker:

And it's not a cookie, cookie cutter diet that, you know, the

Speaker:

same things that work for me are not, aren't necessarily gonna work.

Speaker:

You know, as well for you.

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

you know, it might, then they might not work at all.

Speaker:

So you do have to kind of try it and tweak it until you get what works for you.

Speaker:

So, um,

Speaker:

that's why I'm like, when I was

Speaker:

I was feeling

Speaker:

feelings of nauseousness and like all that stuff while I was in Indonesia

Speaker:

and I was like, never, didn't ever stop and say, oh, this isn't working.

Speaker:

You know, like,

Speaker:

right,

Speaker:

okay, what can I do different?

Speaker:

And if that means carrying gr a granola

Speaker:

Granola

Speaker:

for a while

Speaker:

for

Speaker:

I feel confident

Speaker:

sure.

Speaker:

like,

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

So then that, okay, so I said I tried a couple things before

Speaker:

I, like, in the past week.

Speaker:

So the last

Speaker:

Last

Speaker:

other thing I tried

Speaker:

I tried.

Speaker:

I had done one.

Speaker:

36 hour fast

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

When

Speaker:

just 'cause I wanted to try it.

Speaker:

And

Speaker:

and so I was gonna home weekend.

Speaker:

what, I can do this.

Speaker:

And so I did it and I remember that being like, oh my gosh, I did it.

Speaker:

Like, oh, this

Speaker:

That's great.

Speaker:

Didn't, yeah.

Speaker:

So that was the first one and that was like at least four years ago.

Speaker:

And so I've been afraid to like do another one, but I was like, you know what?

Speaker:

And so I was trying to like, meal is, Mondays obviously is like

Speaker:

what everyone talks about, but there was a fear in me that like.

Speaker:

Be going to school like on Tuesday or whatever.

Speaker:

Like if I hadn't eaten yet, like just a fear that I was gonna be like

Speaker:

headed that I was gonna, you know, feeling I was gonna pass out whatever.

Speaker:

I don't know.

Speaker:

So then I was trying to plan out this schedule.

Speaker:

Okay, if I stop eating at this time, I can go all day Monday and then,

Speaker:

you know, by Tuesday, like I'll have a snack if I need to eat at nine,

Speaker:

like I'll eat at nine if I, anyway.

Speaker:

And it was just like all of this seven and I was just standing there on Saturday

Speaker:

and I hadn't eaten yet on Saturday.

Speaker:

And I was like, you know what?

Speaker:

I was like.

Speaker:

Why don't I just do it today?

Speaker:

Like,

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

home Saturday and Sunday.

Speaker:

I am like, why would that, you know, and I did, I did almost 40 hours.

Speaker:

It would've been 40 if

Speaker:

Wow.

Speaker:

started at 10:00 AM.

Speaker:

Uh,

Speaker:

Well,

Speaker:

to eat before I went, before I went to church.

Speaker:

yeah.

Speaker:

so I ate, I drank the drink at nine, about nine 20 I guess,

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

ate half an avocado and then I heated up, uh, well 20 minutes later.

Speaker:

And then I heated up two cups of bone broth and took that in

Speaker:

a thermos with me to church.

Speaker:

So I sipped on that through church.

Speaker:

And then

Speaker:

Perfect.

Speaker:

I had.

Speaker:

I had like a cottage cheese and mango, um, snack and then just my

Speaker:

bigger meal later and, or I, no,

Speaker:

Well,

Speaker:

ate for

Speaker:

I ate for eight.

Speaker:

actually gonna be gone that day.

Speaker:

And

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

that before I left.

Speaker:

And then, so nine to, well, five 30 ish, so about eight hours.

Speaker:

I know I made sure to like free feed,

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

was weird 'cause after I ate the cottage cheese, it doesn't usually make me feel

Speaker:

bloated, but I felt so full and I was like, oh my gosh, like, what if I can't

Speaker:

Sure.

Speaker:

Sure.

Speaker:

but then like two hours later I was.

Speaker:

So hungry.

Speaker:

Like I have

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

like that in so long.

Speaker:

And so then, um, my friend and I went to this like salad,

Speaker:

uh, bowl, healthy food place.

Speaker:

And um, it was really good.

Speaker:

So we got a big, I got a big old key mo bowl with chicken and all that

Speaker:

Aw,

Speaker:

ended with

Speaker:

great job.

Speaker:

And how do, how do you, how'd you do?

Speaker:

Did you get a headache at Yeah, it's amazing, isn't it?

Speaker:

yeah, and I felt, so there was only one part in the afternoon.

Speaker:

Um, I went to spend some time at my sister's, 'cause I don't have a washing

Speaker:

machine, so I did some laundry and um, which was good 'cause she actually

Speaker:

had a ton of sweets in her house.

Speaker:

And I was like.

Speaker:

Oh no.

Speaker:

But

Speaker:

Yeah,

Speaker:

that wasn't

Speaker:

that wasn't gonna be the first date,

Speaker:

to not eat those.

Speaker:

But anyway,

Speaker:

but anyway.

Speaker:

so, um, played with my nephew for a little bit.

Speaker:

He's the first one of the little baby of the family.

Speaker:

So,

Speaker:

Aw.

Speaker:

um, spent some time and there was one moment where I had to, it was funny

Speaker:

because I never really understood the keto breath, and I've been

Speaker:

like the, the metallic taste for, to me it's almost like a sweet.

Speaker:

Yeah, literally the first couple times

Speaker:

felt it until I was on the tirzepatide.

Speaker:

That's, which is funny 'cause I was still doing a little bit of fasting

Speaker:

and for some reason the tirzepatide must have kickstarted that, um, like,

Speaker:

because never, never remember.

Speaker:

or smelling.

Speaker:

It was a taste and a smell.

Speaker:

I thought a kid was wearing like a weird type of perfume.

Speaker:

I was like, what is that smell?

Speaker:

Because it almost happened almost every day at 10:00 AM is when I help out in one,

Speaker:

in a class with some, some small groups.

Speaker:

And that's about when it would click in when I was doing the tirzepatide

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

day, that taste, smell, whatever.

Speaker:

So it was super weird.

Speaker:

Anyway.

Speaker:

Um, and so now I get what people are talking about, and that

Speaker:

was just a revelation for me.

Speaker:

I was like, is this what it's like?

Speaker:

Wow.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Um, because then one time in, or the, on Saturday afternoon, um, there was one

Speaker:

moment where I had to exert a little more energy and my dog was chasing chickens

Speaker:

and I was freaking out at her, so like, nah, stop, you know, like yelling at her.

Speaker:

And all of a sudden that flavor just like entered my mouth and I was like.

Speaker:

Like I just, that was my kickstarting, you know, my ketones.

Speaker:

Aw.

Speaker:

so I was like, okay.

Speaker:

I was like, we're fine.

Speaker:

Like calm down, you know?

Speaker:

'cause I know you're not supposed to like exercise heavily on the days when you're

Speaker:

Do you, do you drink, um, green tea at all?

Speaker:

No, I've tried, I bought green tea.

Speaker:

That was the other thing I did that I wanted to do this

Speaker:

week before I met you, um, was

Speaker:

that's okay.

Speaker:

did buy some green tea 'cause I was like, I know it's better.

Speaker:

And I've been tempted to switch from coffee to green tea.

Speaker:

I do not like the flavor.

Speaker:

It

Speaker:

Of green tea.

Speaker:

it tastes like grass and I just,

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

It, it might taste, take a little getting used to that too, but what I was gonna

Speaker:

say is not only does it have awesome weight loss and health benefits, but it

Speaker:

also does help with that keto breath.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

It really

Speaker:

haven't, I don't notice it a lot.

Speaker:

And that's the thing is like, I,

Speaker:

Oh, that's good.

Speaker:

didn't notice it until the tirzepatide and then until again on my, the 30, you know,

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

fasting time.

Speaker:

I'm about halfway through.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

So then during my fast, I've been black coffee and water mostly.

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

recently started eating, eating, drinking, don't eat during the fast.

Speaker:

Um, I have

Speaker:

I started

Speaker:

about an

Speaker:

about,

Speaker:

into my 40 ounce.

Speaker:

Um, water bottle of Celtic sea salt.

Speaker:

yep.

Speaker:

so that, 'cause I tried you talk all the time about the Element T

Speaker:

the element, I tried it one time.

Speaker:

It made me so nauseous.

Speaker:

I tried it in my fast and I literally, it like jumpstarted my in, I don't know, must

Speaker:

have jumpstarted my insulin or whatever.

Speaker:

And I got like, immediately within like 20, 30 minutes of starting to

Speaker:

drink it, I like got lightheaded.

Speaker:

I don't know.

Speaker:

It was

Speaker:

Ooh,

Speaker:

And I

Speaker:

you didn't

Speaker:

do you, hmm.

Speaker:

use the flavor or the, did you use the raw?

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

Hmm.

Speaker:

salt flavor was just so strong.

Speaker:

And I

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

it just, 'cause I wasn't used to it and my body was like, what is this?

Speaker:

But I

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

and I never tried it again in the past, and I haven't really needed it.

Speaker:

And like I

Speaker:

And like,

Speaker:

the packets and so I would, I would mix it with like lemonade or something, you

Speaker:

yeah.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

my fast or I mean, sorry, during my eating window.

Speaker:

So I did still drink 'em until, well actually.

Speaker:

Probably that was like two years ago I

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

I probably still have a couple packets left, but it's fine.

Speaker:

Uh, so, but yeah.

Speaker:

But

Speaker:

No mineral.

Speaker:

really helped a lot.

Speaker:

Yes, I've used that too.

Speaker:

And, and I only, I only take one a week.

Speaker:

Now when I do, um, one or like two to four a month, I would say, when

Speaker:

I do an extended fast, that's it.

Speaker:

I don't take 'em any, but they really did help me at the beginning.

Speaker:

But now I do the, just do the salt.

Speaker:

If I'm feeling extra hungry or a little off or dizzy or whatever,

Speaker:

um, I try that, drop it in and

Speaker:

I've tried the sparkly mineral water.

Speaker:

that, oh.

Speaker:

during the fast, I mostly, when I was first getting started in Indonesia,

Speaker:

'cause it was, um, not as expensive to buy the sparkly mineral water.

Speaker:

And I, I just, I didn't really, I don't know, once I kind of

Speaker:

Well, some people like it, some people don't.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

so I, I don't really do that during the past, so yeah, black, black coffee

Speaker:

Okay.

Speaker:

has been

Speaker:

Oh, that's perfect.

Speaker:

You only do.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And so I was almost afraid, I was just fascinated how well my

Speaker:

body did with that 39 hour fast.

Speaker:

When you wanna know what's funny, this might be TMI, but like I must have

Speaker:

been backed up or something like, so I'm kind of glad I did it on Saturday.

Speaker:

Not really backed up.

Speaker:

Like I usually pretty regular, but, 'cause I still, after not eating for.

Speaker:

hours, 35 hours at

Speaker:

Yeah,

Speaker:

I still like went to the bathroom the next morning and I was like, this is weird.

Speaker:

I

Speaker:

sure.

Speaker:

anything yesterday.

Speaker:

You know, so like, it's just that time

Speaker:

Yeah,

Speaker:

to like, and I felt so

Speaker:

felt so.

Speaker:

just like empty detox.

Speaker:

That's awesome.

Speaker:

And then, um, yeah, by the time I, you know, was starting to eat that day and

Speaker:

just, it was kind of weird eating for more time throughout the day, but I think it

Speaker:

helped that we were kind of out and about.

Speaker:

'cause then it kind of,

Speaker:

Sure.

Speaker:

a little bit

Speaker:

Oh, it does.

Speaker:

Yep.

Speaker:

Absolutely.

Speaker:

so.

Speaker:

Kylie, what would you say is your, what's like your biggest challenge

Speaker:

that you have with fasting?

Speaker:

Huh?

Speaker:

Yeah,

Speaker:

So.

Speaker:

as I mentioned earlier, I care too much what people think about me.

Speaker:

So the definitely probably the social aspect because if people don't know,

Speaker:

you know, or they have never really

Speaker:

You know.

Speaker:

or like when I don't eat, you know, most of the day throughout the school day,

Speaker:

and then when people, I feel like I don't want people to think that I'm judging

Speaker:

them, but also like I feel like I'm me.

Speaker:

Judge because like people will bring, I literally saw somebody the other day,

Speaker:

like, have a piece of pizza in a plastic bag, put it in the microwave, in the

Speaker:

plastic bag, and then it like melted to the pizza and they like peeled it up.

Speaker:

I just was like.

Speaker:

Oh wow.

Speaker:

So I'm like, so I, I don't enjoy super unless I actually have

Speaker:

something to talk to them about.

Speaker:

I don't really

Speaker:

Yeah,

Speaker:

anymore just because I don't want that them to think like, you know,

Speaker:

my, my feelings are on my sleeve.

Speaker:

So I'm like,

Speaker:

sure.

Speaker:

to think that I'm judging them because I'm not.

Speaker:

But anyway, so I guess really just the social aspect.

Speaker:

And

Speaker:

It's a very, very common,

Speaker:

If

Speaker:

very common.

Speaker:

you know, eating lunch with somebody or whatever, like obviously I

Speaker:

can adjust my window to do that.

Speaker:

But at school and since I've been at a new school, you know, with substituting

Speaker:

like it's hard to like for people to hear my whole life story and then

Speaker:

I'll hear it again and then here.

Speaker:

Yeah, so it kind of takes time.

Speaker:

like open up about that.

Speaker:

And I don't

Speaker:

Sure.

Speaker:

a ton about it until, unless they ask, you know, and I'll

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

doing.

Speaker:

But then usually when you say intermittent fasting, they're

Speaker:

just kinda like, oh, okay.

Speaker:

You know,

Speaker:

You know, and that's

Speaker:

think

Speaker:

generally because they, they really aren't that knowledgeable about it,

Speaker:

and they just don't know what to say.

Speaker:

And, you know, they think, some people think, oh, it's a, it's an

Speaker:

yeah, for the

Speaker:

go ahead.

Speaker:

recommend the, the, um, 'cause someone had kind of started talking

Speaker:

about it and I felt bad 'cause she had just mentioned Oh yeah.

Speaker:

Like, I, I really kind of started doing that too.

Speaker:

And she's like, sometimes, 'cause she had pulled out a lollipop from her desk and

Speaker:

she's like, sometimes I, you know, just

Speaker:

I,

Speaker:

little boost of sugar to like get me through or whatever.

Speaker:

And I was like.

Speaker:

oh boy.

Speaker:

to read.

Speaker:

I was like, I was like, if you're really interested, like here, you know,

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

sometimes I have, you know, honey and my tea and that really helps get

Speaker:

me through until noon or whatever.

Speaker:

And I'm just like, Um, but you could go a lot longer if you want to.

Speaker:

You know

Speaker:

I know.

Speaker:

Yeah, it's

Speaker:

so I'm not gonna tell

Speaker:

so I'm not gonna tell her like, oh, that's,

Speaker:

Hey, here's a book.

Speaker:

And

Speaker:

yep.

Speaker:

That's always a good thing to do.

Speaker:

Let me just slip this book to you and uh

Speaker:

No,

Speaker:

oh,

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

So,

Speaker:

I love it.

Speaker:

yeah.

Speaker:

Love it.

Speaker:

Well, we are almost out of time, but I would really love for you

Speaker:

to share your absolute shiniest gem with our listeners today.

Speaker:

So if you had to give them one piece of advice, what, what do you think?

Speaker:

What's, what are your words of wisdom, Kylie?

Speaker:

I know I was a little all over the place.

Speaker:

Again, non-traditional slash I tend to talk a lot, but I did think

Speaker:

about this one and I, I loved what.

Speaker:

One of your guests said, um, the younger gal, she was about 20 at the time.

Speaker:

it's Mary.

Speaker:

Love Mary.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

She lost a hundred pounds.

Speaker:

I know.

Speaker:

I, we heard that update.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

And, um, but she said something like, you know, like, think about

Speaker:

where you wanna be in one year.

Speaker:

Like, you could either be in the exact same place if you don't ever wanna start

Speaker:

fasting or just start, you know, and then,

Speaker:

Yes.

Speaker:

could take a year, it could take two years, but like, you'll

Speaker:

be in a much better place.

Speaker:

But, um, my summary kind of was

Speaker:

Kind

Speaker:

overcomplicate it.

Speaker:

Like just start, um, start slow, learn from

Speaker:

learn.

Speaker:

There are so many, I mean, even

Speaker:

I mean, from my rambling,

Speaker:

have heard there are so

Speaker:

there are so many different

Speaker:

and different things

Speaker:

things to

Speaker:

And it's been five years for me that I've been mostly doing

Speaker:

discuss.

Speaker:

and, um,

Speaker:

um,

Speaker:

learn

Speaker:

learn from mistakes.

Speaker:

I put mistakes.

Speaker:

so like my times where I almost passed out.

Speaker:

Learn from that and

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Decide.

Speaker:

Okay, now I know.

Speaker:

those times, now I know what true hunger feels like, you know?

Speaker:

And

Speaker:

Absolutely.

Speaker:

I, it did, it kind of sucked, but at the same time, like

Speaker:

it was amazing information.

Speaker:

You know?

Speaker:

So like learn from that.

Speaker:

Don't stop because of it,

Speaker:

Mm-hmm.

Speaker:

and just adapt through the different seasons of life and just don't stop.

Speaker:

Whether that's a six hour window for a time, whether that's a four hour,

Speaker:

Absolutely.

Speaker:

like you know, fasting is

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

and So.

Speaker:

I love that.

Speaker:

I love that.

Speaker:

Oh my gosh, Kylie, you have shared so many awesome tips.

Speaker:

I can, I can't write fast enough.

Speaker:

I'm gonna have to go back and re No, it's okay.

Speaker:

I'll, I'll write all the gems down as I'm editing and going through and,

Speaker:

um, I am so, I cannot tell you how excited I am that you reached out.

Speaker:

I love that.

Speaker:

And I love that you have a non-traditional, um, story because I.

Speaker:

When you sent me that message, I really got excited because that's what I want.

Speaker:

That's my vision for this podcast.

Speaker:

I don't want it to be do,

Speaker:

time.

Speaker:

do fasting like Jen does fasting.

Speaker:

I want to, you know, talk about and highlight people and what works for

Speaker:

them in all of the different ways, because truly my number one for

Speaker:

fasting is the flexibility in that.

Speaker:

You can do it in so many different ways.

Speaker:

It's a lifestyle, it's not a diet.

Speaker:

And I am so, you know, I'm so blessed that I don't have to, I

Speaker:

found something that allows me to never go on another diet, you know?

Speaker:

And at 50 years old, that is very, very freeing to me.

Speaker:

So I love when you're, you're, you know, your title to your email was, uh.

Speaker:

Nontraditional.

Speaker:

Uh oh.

Speaker:

You caught it.

Speaker:

You caught it.

Speaker:

So, and of course, I, I always love to chat with another fellow

Speaker:

teacher 'cause oh, you know what we're going through every day, so,

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

in this crazy,

Speaker:

I don't

Speaker:

crazy world.

Speaker:

So.

Speaker:

the day,

Speaker:

Oh, no way.

Speaker:

So, well, you are a, a ball of energy and so much fun.

Speaker:

And No, I just love being able to connect with people, um, all over the

Speaker:

country and all over the world really.

Speaker:

And, um, just be able to share what works, what doesn't.

Speaker:

And, and that's, I think, share and.

Speaker:

That probably comes from the teacher and us too.

Speaker:

You know,

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

loved, I love to teach, but I really love to learn too.

Speaker:

So, um, if we can say something out there to our listeners and they can take away

Speaker:

a nugget or a gem or whatever, then I feel like, you know, it's a great thing

Speaker:

to be able to help other people too.

Speaker:

So, but

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

That's

Speaker:

yeah.

Speaker:

That's awesome.

Speaker:

I know I almost

Speaker:

emailing Jen,

Speaker:

did.

Speaker:

then

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

literally am only on episode like 165 or something, and she's got like 500

Speaker:

episodes out with like so many more

Speaker:

Mine,

Speaker:

gonna get on there.

Speaker:

my episode.

Speaker:

Did you listen to my episode?

Speaker:

I don't know.

Speaker:

I,

Speaker:

Mine's, um, 2 37.

Speaker:

I'm pretty po I'm pretty positive.

Speaker:

It's been a couple years.

Speaker:

COVID time in her

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

right now,

Speaker:

Oh, no, no, no.

Speaker:

so

Speaker:

My.

Speaker:

65.

Speaker:

I would recommend sending her, going to her website and sending her a message

Speaker:

and just let her know at least get on like the wait list or whatever.

Speaker:

'cause yeah, she's, she's, I, if she's on like 500 something,

Speaker:

I'm not feeling like I

Speaker:

but,

Speaker:

to, but I'm just like, I felt like I needed to get my

Speaker:

story out there somewhere.

Speaker:

And you just, I love listening to you and your

Speaker:

well, my podcast is not nearly as popular as hers, but, um,

Speaker:

your episodes are like short, so like a lot of them are very concise

Speaker:

well, thank you.

Speaker:

tips so you can go back and like really pinpoint those points rather

Speaker:

than like a lot of her episodes are like all this big long thing.

Speaker:

You're like,

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

that?

Speaker:

You know?

Speaker:

And try to find that.

Speaker:

Well, thank you.

Speaker:

I appreciate the feedback.

Speaker:

Yeah, wonderful.

Speaker:

So, oh my gosh.

Speaker:

Well thank you so, so much, Kylie.

Speaker:

This has been truly, truly awesome.
