Speaker A

Dolly Parton, Speak of the Devil, is holding an open casting call for her Broadway production about her life.

Speaker A

Chris, anyone.

Speaker A

I said anyone can audition, including for the role of Dolly herself.

Speaker A

If you were to audition, Chris, which.

Speaker B

I love this question.

Speaker B

Oh, man.

Speaker B

Oh, man.

Speaker B

I think I'd go Islands in the Stream, actually.

Speaker B

And not nine to five.

Speaker B

I'd go island in the Stream, the gambler.

Speaker B

So I kind of man.

Speaker B

Yeah, I kind of man crush on Kenny.

Speaker B

I kind of man crush on Kenny Rogers.

Speaker B

And I've got the beard now.

Speaker B

I've got the theater background.

Speaker B

So.

Speaker B

So Dolly, give me a call.

Speaker B

I'm here.

Speaker A

Oh, my God.

Speaker A

Oh, my God.

Speaker A

Chris Walton is Kenny Rogers on Broadway.

Speaker A

I'm going to see it.

Speaker A

Forget.

Speaker B

I definitely wouldn't need a wig.

Speaker B

I got the beard, but I don't have the flow.

Speaker B

I don't have the flow.

Speaker A

We can be arranged.

Speaker B

Yeah, right, right.

Speaker B

Yeah.

Speaker B

In today's world, there's a lot of.

Speaker B

A lot of fake flow going on.

Speaker B

Oxford University Press named BR as the dictionary word of the year.

Speaker B

The phrase shot to popularity in 2024 with a 230% increase in frequency of use from the year prior.

Speaker B

And how much has brain rot upended your daily life?

Speaker A

Oh, my God.

Speaker A

Whatever the exact number of minutes is that I spend on social media, that's brain rot.

Speaker A

That's how much brain rot has impacted my life.

Speaker A

That many minutes.

Speaker B

Oh, yeah, but this is.

Speaker B

I think this is also the brain.

Speaker B

The, like the skibidi stuff and all that kind of stuff.

Speaker B

Like, has that infiltrated your house as well?

Speaker A

Yes, but I guess I don't equate that to brain rot.

Speaker A

I feel like that's just like the vernacular of the kids.

Speaker A

These kids these days, you know?

Speaker B

Oh, yeah, it's actually that.

Speaker B

It's actually the name that catches, like, all of that language as well.

Speaker B

So that's why I was wondering, like, how much it's impacted you because it has definitely thwarted the quality of life in the Walton household.

Speaker B

And.

Speaker A

Oh, my God.

Speaker B

Yes, my kids have been very disruptive using brain rot ish language at school.

Speaker B

And I've been talked to by the teachers many times about that usage.

Speaker B

So I was curious if it's impacted your.

Speaker A

I thought brain rot was, like.

Speaker A

When I think of brain rot, I think of, like, wasted time.

Speaker A

Like, what your brain is rotting from this, like, bad television or whatever.

Speaker A

Like some brain rot is related to language.

Speaker A

Okay, well, I'd have to rethink that one because I don't know the answer.

Speaker A

We have a lot of skibidi And I can't even think of the other words right now, but, yes, that's definitely happening in my house.

Speaker B

Yeah, like, there's just crazy words like Ohio and.

Speaker B

And Riz and Simp and.

Speaker B

I don't know.

Speaker B

I don't know.

Speaker A

Oh, yeah.

Speaker A

Okay, well, let's go to question number three.

Speaker A

Hopefully you know more about this one than I did about the last one.

Speaker A

Shabuzi just set a record for the most consecutive weeks with a number one hit song for Bar, so.

Speaker A

Which contains the lyrics, Pour me up another shot of whiskey.

Speaker A

You know, me and Jack Daniels got a history, Chris, if not Jack Daniels, which spirit do you have a history with?

Speaker B

Oh, I definitely don't.

Speaker B

I've definitely not poured myself a shot of Jack Daniels because I have a history with Jack Daniels and I can never go back.

Speaker B

In fact, I can't even smell Jack Daniels.

Speaker B

And.

Speaker A

No, really?

Speaker B

Why?

Speaker A

What happened?

Speaker B

Oh, God, do I want to tell this story?

Speaker B

Okay, so I was 18.

Speaker B

I went on a lake trip to Lake Nacimiento in California.

Speaker B

Went on a lake trip with some ASU guys that I had met that summer who are much older than me, all over.

Speaker B

21.

Speaker B

And we started.

Speaker B

We were out on the lake all day, and then went back to the lake house and started playing bumper pool.

Speaker B

And I was, like, out of my mind with bumper play.

Speaker B

And I was pulling off shots like no one would believe.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker B

And I was.

Speaker B

And so.

Speaker B

And I was drinking more shots of Jack Dallas than anything.

Speaker B

And then.

Speaker B

And so there's a video.

Speaker A

Not even, like, Jack and Coke or anything?

Speaker B

No, just shots.

Speaker B

Shots.

Speaker B

And I'm, like, new to drinking, like, relatively three months into drinking.

Speaker B

And.

Speaker B

And there's a video of it.

Speaker B

I think I still have it.

Speaker B

It's, like, on vhs.

Speaker B

I think I still have it.

Speaker B

You just watch me just at one point, just fall over.

Speaker B

Like, I'm just flat out, like, I'm lucky I didn't have to go to the hospital.

Speaker B

And so the next morning, I wake up.

Speaker B

The next morning I wake up, everyone's.

Speaker A

Why were they videoing you?

Speaker B

Oh, we were all videoing everything.

Speaker B

You know, it's back with camcorders and stuff, you know?

Speaker B

And so the next morning, I wake up and everyone's asleep.

Speaker B

And I burge.

Speaker B

I bar.

Speaker B

I barge into the house.

Speaker B

I'm like, did I jump into the lake yesterday?

Speaker B

Was I so drunk?

Speaker B

Did I jumped into the lake?

Speaker B

And they're like, dude, no.

Speaker B

And I'm like, oh, right.

Speaker B

And so.

Speaker B

So let's just say I was washing mattresses the rest of the day.

Speaker B

So anyway, I cannot smell Jack Daniels anymore.

Speaker B

And so to answer your question, if I had to pour myself anything, it would be a shot of Don Julio.

Speaker B

That's my go to middle of the road tequila and.

Speaker A

Oh, my God.

Speaker A

Oh.

Speaker B

All right, let's get out of here before we.

Speaker B

Before this show goes any more off the rails, defunct restaurant chain Chichi's is piloting a comeback in 2025.

Speaker B

I actually have two questions for you on this, Anne.

Speaker B

First, when I say chichis, what is the first thing that comes to your mind?

Speaker B

And then second, fried ice.

Speaker B

Wow, really quick on that one.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker B

Okay.

Speaker B

And then second, in the pantheon of chain restaurants, do you think Chi Chi's is over underrated or properly rated?

Speaker A

I haven't been there in so long, I feel like I'm not equipped to correctly answer this question.

Speaker A

What do you think?

Speaker B

Well, I see, I thought chichi.

Speaker B

I mean, I remember my first chichi's experience in like the 80s, and it was pretty baller.

Speaker B

Like, I thought it was pretty.

Speaker B

Pretty decent.

Speaker B

And you know, like all the, like TGI Fridays too.

Speaker B

Like all these chain restaurants that were one time awesome, they just get destroyed.

Speaker A

Yeah.

Speaker B

So I actually think Chichi's, when I think about all my chain restaurant experiences, is actually underrated.

Speaker B

Underrated?

Speaker B

Yeah.

Speaker B

Like Red Lobster, I would say properly rated, you know.

Speaker A

Oh, God.

Speaker B

But like overrated.

Speaker B

Yeah.

Speaker B

Or overrated properly to.

Speaker B

Overrated.

Speaker B

But Chi Chi's, I would say underrated.

Speaker B

TGI Friday is probably properly rated now, but I don't know.

Speaker B

But that's why.

Speaker B

That's why I think.

Speaker B

What do you think?

Speaker A

I mean, yeah, by 1980s standards, underrated for sure.

Speaker A

That place was amazing.

Speaker A

I love Chi Chi's.

Speaker A

Like, I always wanted to go.

Speaker A

I think I only got to go like twice.

Speaker A

And one was right for the fried ice cream that you always saw the, like, advertisements for on tv.

Speaker A

But yeah, I don't know.

Speaker A

I mean, I like their.

Speaker A

I buy their salsa today.

Speaker A

Like, they still have products on shelves that are.

Speaker B

Yeah, that's right.

Speaker B

So I think it's salsa.

Speaker A

I would try it out.

Speaker A

I would definitely go, why not?

Speaker A

Like, it's a.

Speaker A

It's a Mexican place that, you know, you get.

Speaker A

You know what you're going to get, I think, and then you'll be properly surprised if it's a good.

Speaker B

It's a great point.

Speaker B

It's a great point.

Speaker B

And I like the standard Mexican.

Speaker B

Good.

Speaker B

Standard Mexican.

Speaker B

Like, I like good.

Speaker B

There's too much fruity Mexican food right now.

Speaker B

Too much high end, expensive Mexican food.

Speaker B

Restaurant particularly in Minneapolis, too.

Speaker B

We don't have a good.

Speaker B

Just go to Mexican restaurant.

Speaker A

You haven't been to La Casita Central.

Speaker B

Yeah, yeah, we'll get you.

Speaker A

We'll find you some.

Speaker A

We got to do.

Speaker B

Right.

Speaker B

I have it.

Speaker B

Actually, I did find a good Mexican restaurant that's very, very authentic, too, and very affordable, which I'll have to tell you about, but I will keep that from our national audience here.
