Melissa Deally:

Welcome back to another episode of health hacks as I continue my series on 12 easy hacks to better health. And today, I want to talk to you about reducing your toxic exposure. Unfortunately, in today's world, our body is constantly being exposed to toxins. More than 100,000 chemical toxins have been introduced into our world since World War Two, and so our body has the difficult task of constantly needing to get these toxins out, and our poor liver and kidneys get overloaded, because we were never designed to have to deal with this many toxins in our system. And so rather than stressing out about it and worrying about it, it's just, let's think about the easy steps that you can take to reduce your toxic load. So the first one is simply to start to swap out chemical laden cleaning and laundry products for natural alternatives, as well as swapping out your personal care products for natural alternatives, because so much of what you can buy in the store is laden with chemicals, and you need to source them differently. And I will put a link in the show notes to my website where I have the my recommendations of clean products that I use. And you can go to that website and check it out and find ones that work for you. I find that clean products are available online. What you find in many stores are related laden with chemicals. You also want to consider filtering your water in your home to remove contaminants, because so many of our municipal water supplies are also laden with things like fluoride, aluminum and other toxins to the body, which, if we're drinking it every day, builds up in our trash can and can cause overflow, and then something as simple as opening your windows daily to allow fresh air in and have better circulation. These are some really small steps that you can take to lower your toxin exposure. You might also want to consider my self guided detox program. I take guide people through this program. I make it as easy as possible, providing recipes, giving you videos to watch to set yourself up for success, so that the process is manageable. You can do it in your regular daily life, and at the end, what I love hearing is when people say, I don't remember when I last felt this good, because when we get our toxins out, our inflammation levels go down, our we our sleep improves, our aches and pains go away, our brain fog goes away, and it's something that I do on a regular basis. Every quarter. I do my detox because I know the toxins are coming in, and I want to always be getting them out, and that's how I don't worry about toxins. I make better choices in terms of the products that I use. I love having my windows open even in winter, and I do my regular detoxes, so I'm know that I'm doing all that I can to keep my toxic level low feel good and improve my health as a result. So those are some quick tips for you that you can start considering implementing in your life.
