Hello, everyone.
ChrisAnn and I are trying something new today.
ChrisIn true entrepreneurial fashion, we are throwing it out there and seeing if it sticks.
ChrisThe genesis of what you are about to hear or watch is that Ann and I have been blown away by the number of people that watch the shorts of our lightning round at the end of every Fast five that we record.
ChrisEvery Fast five podcast that we record in which, you know, we are retail experts, so to speak, but the lightning round, and I don't really think, I don't think the lightning rod really qualifies as retail insights.
ChrisAnd maybe it does take.
AnnNo expertise is required for the answers.
ChrisNo.
AnnNo questions.
AnnNo.
ChrisNo.
ChrisSo those people tuning in for our retail insights are.
ChrisAre still loving our lightning round.
ChrisSo.
ChrisSo because of that, and we teased this on our Fast five together a few weeks ago, we're going to rank stuff.
ChrisWe're going to rank stuff today and.
ChrisAnd we're going to start this first ever show ranking our favorite holidays one through five.
ChrisAre you ready?
AnnI love that.
AnnI love that.
AnnThere's no other premise but rank stuff.
AnnThat was, that was the thesis for this podcast.
AnnSo very, very deeply thought through.
AnnRank stuff.
AnnYes, yes.
AnnRank our favorite holidays today.
AnnI love it.
ChrisAnd you know, as you say that it's totally on brand for us.
ChrisTotally rank stuff.
ChrisLet's just reg stuff.
AnnYes.
ChrisAre you ready to go?
AnnYes, I'm ready to go.
ChrisOh, you want to ask a question before we get started?
AnnBefore we get started, I have to ask you a question.
AnnSo we're ranking holidays.
AnnDid you, in your prep for this podcast have to Google the holidays?
ChrisNo, I did not, Ann.
ChrisNo, I did not.
ChrisOkay.
ChrisGiven my 47 years of experience on this earth, I was pretty comfortable.
ChrisI knew which holidays registered in my mind, but I take it.
AnnSo it was just me.
AnnYes, I did.
AnnI did.
AnnBecause it was very challenging.
AnnLike when you look at the list, I wanted to make sure that I wasn't forgetting any holidays I know or like where do the holiday.
AnnWhat's considered a holiday?
AnnBecause like the US Holidays, if you just Google it, is like the ones that the government is closed down.
AnnThey don't get into like St.
AnnPatrick's Day, Valentine's Day.
ChrisOh, definitely a holiday.
ChrisDefinitely a holiday.
ChrisYes.
AnnOkay, so that's.
AnnI included those.
AnnI just wanted to set the table.
ChrisYes, you should have.
AnnSo that we're like, still we're allowed to include non government holidays in this Because I definitely did.
AnnSo just just clarifying.
AnnOkay.
ChrisYes, you definitely should have.
ChrisYeah, no, there's no rules in Rank Stuff.
ChrisAnd there's no rules, in fact.
ChrisBut the only rule I think for this one is it's us holidays.
ChrisLike, we're not doing Boxing Day or something like that.
ChrisEven though one of your titles, one of the potential titles for this entire series if it takes off is you're such a ranker.
ChrisIn honor of our friends overseas as well.
ChrisBut, um, but yes, Ann, I think you, you, I think you, if you Googling helped you arrive at that, I'm all for it, so.
ChrisBut I, I, I wanted to make.
AnnSure that I was, that I was applying to all the terms and conditions of the Rank Stuff podcast.
AnnSo I just made sure I was doing my due diligence.
AnnSo we are recognizing for everyone listening, any holiday that is recognized somewhat in.
ChrisThe US it can even be like your own holiday too.
ChrisLike Festivus, you know, like on Seinfeld, like, if you have Bongo Day in your house or something like that, you.
AnnKnow, that was included.
ChrisThat also qualifies.
ChrisWell, I think it should.
ChrisI think it should.
ChrisBut, but.
ChrisAll right, let's see where you came up with.
ChrisAll right, all right, you start us off.
ChrisNumber.
ChrisWe're gonna go reverse order.
ChrisWhat is your fifth favorite holiday?
AnnOkay, this holiday, this is where, this is where I get into the, like, gray of the holidays.
AnnBut my fifth favorite holiday is Summer solstice, the longest day of the year.
ChrisSolstice.
AnnWow.
ChrisStarting off strong, coming in strong.
ChrisWhy do you like the summer solstice?
ChrisWhat day is that?
ChrisJune 21.
AnnJune 21.
AnnJune 21.
ChrisNice.
ChrisOkay.
AnnAll right.
AnnI have a lot of, I have a lot of friends who have summer solstice parties.
AnnAnd it's like, fun.
AnnOne of them, yeah, one of them does like a Midsummer Night's Dream themed one.
AnnAnd it's like, kind of cool.
AnnAnother friend of mine is Latvian and they have, they always celebrate the summer solstice.
AnnYanni Day is what they call it.
AnnAnd it, she like has this whole party where she, her dad's like the US Ambassador to Latvia, so like, he brings in all this Latvian food and, like, she has this great party.
AnnIt's my grandmother's birthday, so I like, I think of her that day.
AnnAnd it's the most sunlight that we get for in one day.
AnnAnd I think that alone is like a reason to celebrate.
AnnSo I'm going Summer solstice, it's crazy.
AnnIt's unorthodox.
AnnBut that's my top five.
AnnMy five holiday of the top five summer solstice.
ChrisLike that, that even crank my kids or crack my consideration.
AnnThis is why I googled Chris, because I was like, what holidays are there that I'm not thinking of?
AnnAnd this was on the list.
AnnAnd I was like, yeah, I actually do love that day.
ChrisWow.
ChrisI'll give you.
ChrisI'll give you the sunlight day.
ChrisThe sunlight thing is cool.
ChrisI didn't even know.
ChrisI didn't even know people that existed like, that People had summer solstice parties.
ChrisI had no idea.
ChrisAnd Yanni Day, like, I imagine that that's a word specific to Latvian culture as opposed to, like, listening to Yanni music.
ChrisRight.
ChrisAlthough it's Jade, inclusion of both would be kind of fun.
ChrisOkay, got it.
ChrisGot it.
AnnYes.
ChrisAll right, all right.
ChrisWell, mine is not quite.
ChrisMine is not quite as obscure.
ChrisAnd I will put that out there.
ChrisMine is New Year's Day.
ChrisNew Year's Day, actually.
AnnOh, okay.
AnnWhat.
AnnWhy, What's.
AnnWhy does take fifth place for me?
ChrisIt's, it's, it's.
ChrisIt's.
ChrisIt's not.
ChrisIt's not like on the upper echelon, but it's like, it gets ranked for me because of the nostalgia and, you know, love is in the air.
ChrisYou know, you look back on the past year, you can look back fondly.
ChrisIt gives you good memories.
ChrisYou always remember where you are.
ChrisWhen Harry Met Sally comes into play in my mind.
ChrisYou also get the next day off, which, as you're going to see in my rankings and how many days off I get around the holidays.
ChrisVery, very, very valid for my ranking.
ChrisYes.
ChrisVery light week heading.
ChrisThe light week heading into it before Christmas is as well.
ChrisRyan Seacrest balls are dropping in New York City.
AnnNew Year's Eve or New Year's Day.
AnnBecause you said New Year's Day.
ChrisYou need New Year's, New Year's, the whole.
AnnGot to pick a home.
AnnGot to pick a day.
ChrisNo, no, no, no.
ChrisYou're delineating between New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
AnnYes.
AnnLet me tell you why.
AnnBecause New Year's Day period and the.
Chris24 hour period is what I'm saying.
ChrisNope.
AnnNope.
AnnDisqualified.
AnnOkay, go ahead, pick New Year's Eve or New Year's Day.
AnnNew Year's Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Eve, then New Year's Day fucks you are the first day of any one of your New Year's Eve, like, resolutions goes into play.
AnnSo that means, like, no sweets, you're.
ChrisGoing to the gym, smoking or going.
AnnTo the gym or whatever it is.
AnnYeah, that goes into effect.
AnnYou may Be hungover or at least just tired because you were up late the night before.
AnnAnd then the next day you gotta go to work after being on vacation for the last however long.
AnnSo I say New Year's Day, not no New Year's Eve.
AnnI'll get.
ChrisYeah, you're right, you're right, you're right.
AnnBy New Year's Day, I.
ChrisYou're right.
ChrisI.
ChrisIn our First Rank stuff podcast, I need to change my answer and you have convinced me to change my answer.
ChrisIt's not New Year's Day, it's New Year's Eve.
ChrisYes.
ChrisNew Year's Eve.
ChrisYes.
AnnOkay, great.
AnnYou get out of work early.
AnnLike, there's a lot of pluses to New Year's Eve.
AnnYou dress up, you get to like celebrate.
AnnUsually you go something fancy like, I'll give you New Year's Eve.
AnnI think that's a valid holiday.
ChrisOkay.
ChrisOkay.
ChrisAll right.
ChrisAll right, I'm going to lead the next one then.
ChrisSo number four.
ChrisNumber four was one.
ChrisWhen I was thinking about this, it kind of snuck in as a dark horse.
ChrisLike I was kind of surprised like when I, when I came up with this one.
ChrisBut number four for me is honestly Memorial Day.
ChrisAnd Memorial Day.
ChrisOkay, start a summer start of summer barbecue, three day weekend again, the time off work theme.
ChrisKids are pretty much done with school at this point, so the teachers don't give a flying fiddlers about anything.
ChrisBut the downsides of it are that it's often taken up by like a dental convention that Mrs.
ChrisOmni Talk has to go to or, you know, somebody plans a wedding, which I also hate weddings on holidays.
ChrisLike, that's just a big freaking pet peeve of mine.
AnnBut you're getting, you're getting invited to a lot of weddings these days, Chris in your 40s.
ChrisBut yeah, I am actually still do.
ChrisBut.
ChrisYes, but, but it always happens.
ChrisLike people do that at weddings on Memorial Day and stuff.
ChrisSo.
ChrisBut so, you know, so it gets why it's not higher is those things, right?
ChrisLike, it's just, it's, it's sometimes, sometimes just gets clouded up or, or clamped up with other activities around it.
ChrisSo I don't get to spend it to the degree that I want to, but I like it because, you know, start a summer and it's kind of like, it's kind of got a summer solstice vibe that I have for.
ChrisThat it has for me.
ChrisBut what, what's your fourth?
ChrisI'm curious.
AnnYeah, my fourth is St.
AnnPatrick's Day.
AnnBecause if you do St.
AnnPatrick's Day.
ChrisRight.
ChrisI totally forgot about St.
ChrisPatrick's Day.
AnnDon't think that you do this right as you age as much.
AnnYeah, but, I mean, the St.
AnnPatrick's Day that I've spent in Chicago or in New York and even here In Minneapolis and St.
AnnPaul, like, we have.
AnnIn St.
AnnPaul, we have a big.
AnnAnd Minneapolis, we have a big, like, Irish culture and heritage here, too.
ChrisYeah.
AnnAnd I think you get up in the morning, you start your day with a Guinness, and you, like, go do, like, have breakfast at a local Irish bar.
AnnLike, that day is full of fun, and you go to bed early, and it's great.
ChrisThe only downside is the next day.
ChrisYou know, the next day.
ChrisBut you're right.
ChrisYou're right.
ChrisYou're convincing me that I should have googled the holidays, because I can't believe St.
ChrisPatrick's Day did not make my holidays.
AnnThis was another one that was on the list.
AnnI was.
ChrisI'm bumping Memorial Day.
ChrisMemorial Day, you're gone.
ChrisAs I'm doing this, Memorial Day is out, and I'm going.
ChrisI'm putting St.
ChrisPatrick's Day in number four.
ChrisSo you are.
AnnWith you.
ChrisYeah.
AnnYou love an Irish bar more than anyone.
AnnLike, no.
AnnI actually am surprised that wasn't on your list.
AnnI thought that was going to be, like, number two.
AnnLike.
ChrisRight, right, right.
ChrisIt actually might move up in the rankings as we do this.
ChrisAnd, I mean, I.
ChrisI was derelict in my duties here.
ChrisLike, I should be allowed to rank stuff.
ChrisNo.
ChrisThis.
AnnNo.
ChrisAll right, number three.
ChrisWhat's number three?
AnnNumber three for me is Fourth of July.
AnnI love July because it's always nice out.
AnnEspecially, like, living in Minnesota and growing up here.
AnnLike, it's always been associated with, like, going to a lake somewhere, hanging out with friends.
AnnLike, a full long day and night of, like, fun activities.
AnnIt's usually nice out.
AnnBoat parades, like, the whole thing.
AnnLike, America.
AnnIt's, like, one of my favorite days.
AnnYeah.
AnnIt's Fourth of July.
AnnEverybody's.
AnnEverybody's happy.
ChrisI like the America drop.
ChrisThat was great.
AnnYeah.
ChrisYeah.
ChrisActually, I'm gonna.
ChrisI'm still.
ChrisI'm gonna.
ChrisI'm gonna give a little preview.
ChrisThat was actually my number two.
ChrisI love Fourth of July.
ChrisI love Fourth of July.
ChrisSo, okay, so.
ChrisAnd I'm with you on everything.
ChrisLike, you get the barbecues.
ChrisAwesome.
ChrisYou get the day off.
ChrisYou can day drink.
ChrisI like day drinking, which is why I can't believe I didn't have St.
ChrisPatrick's Day in there.
AnnYes.
AnnCommon theme.
AnnCommon theme.
ChrisHere is day trips, camping.
ChrisEverything's on the table with Fourth of July.
AnnYou can do Fourth of July.
AnnYou're going to need to move camping right off of that list for both of us.
ChrisBut in theory, one could camp, and one could.
AnnOne could camp.
AnnYes.
ChrisShould you lose your mind and want to.
ChrisRight?
ChrisYes, one could camp.
ChrisYou can do it from your roof.
ChrisI've celebrated Fourth of July from many roofs.
ChrisRooftops in my days.
ChrisYou know, houses or apartment buildings.
ChrisThe only downside, though, to Fourth of July, in my opinion, which honestly kept it from being a solid number one.
AnnYeah.
ChrisIs it sucks when it falls on a Monday through Thursday because you got to go to work the next day.
ChrisThat's the only thing that just drives me.
AnnSome might work the next day, but, you know, this is like one of those weeks during the summer where people are just like.
AnnLike Thanksgiving week where people are like.
AnnThe whole week's discounted.
AnnLike, people just go on vacation that week, so nothing gets done anyway.
AnnSo, I mean, you could go to work the next day, but.
ChrisYeah, that's true.
ChrisThat's true.
AnnOne of your days off, that would be.
ChrisThat's true.
ChrisThat's true.
AnnYeah.
ChrisAll right.
ChrisSo my number three, though my number three was actually Christmas, so.
ChrisMy number three was Christmas.
AnnOkay.
ChrisYeah, number three.
ChrisSo.
ChrisOh, I'm curious.
ChrisDo you have it right tire?
ChrisWe'll find out when you do your number two.
ChrisMainly.
ChrisNo, mainly because the thing I love about Christmas ad.
ChrisAgain, common thieves.
ChrisNo one works that entire week, which is why I love Christmas.
AnnLike, in the U.S.
Annyeah.
AnnIt's over.
ChrisPeace out.
ChrisYou know, it's good food, family.
ChrisBut why it's not higher for me.
ChrisThis is why it's not higher for me, is it can get a little too hectic, get a little too crazy.
ChrisPeople can get a little down.
ChrisThey can get that, like.
ChrisWhat's that?
ChrisSeasonal holiday Disorder.
ChrisWhatever.
ChrisYou know.
AnnSeasonal Effective disorder.
ChrisYeah, Seasonal Effective Distance Effectiveness Disorder.
ChrisThat's hard to say on a podcast, but, you know, so it's just a lot of emotion tied up with holidays, families in town.
ChrisIt gets, you know, it gets cramps your style a little bit.
AnnLeast amount of light of the entire year again.
AnnYeah, I know, I know.
AnnYou're giving me a hard time about summer solstice.
ChrisNo, you're right.
AnnThere's no.
AnnIt's dark the whole time here.
ChrisYeah, you're right.
ChrisYeah, right.
ChrisYou're right.
ChrisSo.
ChrisSo.
ChrisYeah.
ChrisSo what?
ChrisOkay, now I'm really curious, then.
ChrisWhat is your number two?
AnnOkay.
AnnMy number two, I.
AnnThis Is my number two.
AnnBecause I want it to be.
AnnBut I have a backup in case you disqualify me for my number two.
ChrisOh, in case I disqualify you.
ChrisOkay.
AnnNumber two is my birthday.
AnnCan that be a holiday?
AnnIf not, I have a backup.
AnnIf not, I have a backup.
ChrisI think it.
ChrisNo, I think you need a backup.
ChrisI think it needs to be.
ChrisNot everyone in the world can celebrate your.
ChrisWell, I guess they could, but it's.
ChrisI think we need a backup.
AnnYeah.
AnnOkay.
AnnAll right.
AnnI mean, in terms of, like, to me, it's like, that's a.
AnnThat's, like, one of my favorite holidays of Ann for the year.
ChrisSo before we.
ChrisBefore we ask you to give her back up, like, what is the rationale for your birthday being ranked number two?
AnnI just feel like that's like, who doesn't love a day where, like, you get to hear from all of your friends and family, you get to spend time with them.
AnnLike, you get fun things.
AnnYou get a free Starbucks.
AnnLike, I feel like those are the days where it's just like, this is.
AnnThere's so much joy associated.
AnnBut I'll go to my backup.
AnnMy backup.
ChrisAnother.
ChrisAnother year closer to death, too, I guess.
AnnYou know, I mean, can you tell that both of us are on opposite ends of the spectrum here?
AnnLike, this is why.
AnnThis is why Christmas is number three.
AnnIt's dark and depressing.
AnnAnd your birthday, you get another year closer to death.
AnnLike, or you get to hang out with all your friends, family, share all that stuff.
AnnStuff.
ChrisYou know.
ChrisRight.
ChrisLike those basket.
ChrisYeah.
ChrisAll right.
ChrisWhat's your.
ChrisWhat's your other number?
AnnSo my.
AnnMy other number two is actually Memorial Day.
AnnI picked that for the reasons that you did.
AnnOutlined.
AnnYes.
AnnBecause, again, like, can you tell that Minnesota is a miserable place to live most of the year?
AnnBecause Memorial Day, like, you said, kids are almost done with school.
AnnEverybody's, like, kicking off the summer.
AnnIf you work at a place that observes summer Fridays, which I did for several years when I worked in advertising, it was like, this was the kickoff to summer Fridays.
AnnEverybody's, like, really ready to, like, get outside and make the most of the summer.
AnnAnd there's no better time in Minnesota than summer.
AnnSo I.
AnnFor all the reasons that you identified about Memorial Day, I also like the other kind of fun part of this, and this is true of Fourth of July, too, and is.
AnnI like when you get to honor the veterans on this day.
AnnLike, I think it's a really cool time to, like.
AnnLike, when you're in the Grocery store.
AnnYou can be like, thank you for your service.
AnnLike that, that time and like that pride, which I don't feel like we get a.
AnnAn opportunity enough to recognize the veterans in our country.
AnnLike, I do love that, like the.
AnnSeeing the kids go up to somebody, like a, you know, a World War II vet that's got his hat on at Jerry's grocery store and like, he.
AnnThey get to go up and be like, thank you for your service.
AnnAnd I just, I love that part of it, too.
AnnSo number.
ChrisYeah, that's a great point.
ChrisI forgot about that.
ChrisWe've.
ChrisWe've regularly visited the, the veterans cemetery too, here in town.
AnnYeah.
ChrisAnd.
ChrisYeah.
ChrisTake the kids over there.
ChrisYou know, my wife's a veteran too, so.
ChrisYeah, that's a great point.
ChrisSo I, you know, if we had a.
ChrisWho's winning the rankings on this podcast, which we might.
ChrisAt the end, I think Memorial Day is the winner of the overall rankings, even though it might not be ranked number one.
ChrisIt is like the surprise hit of this podcast.
AnnYeah.
ChrisAll right.
ChrisAnd I can't wait to do number one, because I know you are going to vehemently disagree with mine, but you go first.
ChrisWhat's your number one?
AnnChristmas.
AnnNumber one, Holiday.
AnnAlways has, always will be.
AnnYes.
ChrisOkay.
ChrisWhy?
AnnBecause unlike you, I have very positive memories associated with Christmas and always had.
ChrisIt was my number three.
ChrisIt's number three.
AnnIt's number one.
AnnFor me, it's like Christmas, the Christmas season lasts a long time of the year.
AnnAnd my number one thing about it is that it brings out the goodness in people.
AnnAnd I think that for the whole.
AnnPretty much for the whole month of December, you see people going above and beyond to, like, do things to help people in need.
AnnThey're just kinder.
AnnPeople open doors for people.
AnnLike, there's, you know, there's like a general positivity in the air maybe until you get to your Christmas, family gatherings.
AnnI don't know everybody's situation, but in my case, it was always like a really warm, positive, fun time.
AnnMy parents and grandparents always, like, made a huge deal of Christmas, so that, that was always a great thing.
AnnAnd so I just, I don't know, I feel like I get excited for it.
AnnI feel like Hallmark movies are out.
AnnKindness is in the air.
AnnThe spirit of giving.
AnnAll these things, Chris, that make Christmas so wonderful.
ChrisThe holiday movie, you know, Jude Law looks amazing in that.
ChrisYou know, like, I get it.
ChrisI get it.
ChrisI mean, I can go with.
ChrisI can go with Christmas is number one.
ChrisI'm not.
ChrisI'M not going to dispute that.
ChrisI mean I had it number three.
ChrisBut.
ChrisBut my number one did not even make your top five.
ChrisFive.
ChrisThat's gonna, that's what's interesting here.
AnnAnd I think, you know what, what is it?
ChrisThanksgiving.
ChrisThanksgiving.
ChrisIt's.
ChrisIt's next week.
ChrisIt's right around the corner.
ChrisOh, it's so awesome.
ChrisYou get two days off, Ann.
ChrisTwo days off heading into the weekend.
ChrisThe food is amazing.
ChrisYou get family too.
ChrisAnd you get family for a shorter period of time.
ChrisSo, you know, I like that.
ChrisIt's also a big retail weekend.
ChrisI don't have to spend money on food all weekend because I can just eat leftovers.
ChrisI can eat turkey, I can eat stuffing.
ChrisI can eat sweet potato roast, buttered rolls.
ChrisLike, it's just amazing.
ChrisFeast.
ChrisThere's football.
ChrisLike, I just, I love Thanksgiving.
ChrisThanksgiving is the best.
AnnYou.
AnnThat's like Thanksgiving is my favorite.
AnnLike I'm gonna ba humbug your number one because.
ChrisOkay, go ahead.
AnnIs my favorite time to get the hell out of here.
AnnLike I use those four days and I'm going on vacation.
AnnI am not eating any of your disgusting food.
AnnEspecially the gravy.
AnnSo gross.
AnnAnd like you hate gravy, don't you?
AnnIf you, if you like, if you had to ask people, I'd be curious if you poll people, like, what is the most high stress time that our holiday that you can think of being around your family?
AnnDefinitely Thanksgiving.
AnnDefinitely Thanksgiving.
ChrisOver Christmas.
AnnPeople are.
AnnOh, for sure.
AnnPeople are having everybody.
AnnLike not everybody.
AnnA lot of people in the US celebrate Thanksgiving.
AnnSo this is like regardless of your, you know, religious like this non denominational holiday.
AnnSo people are drinking.
AnnIt gets really sloppy.
AnnPeople are like talking about inappropriate things.
AnnI just, I don't, I think if you polled people, they'd say that Thanksgiving is more high stress.
AnnThe most high.
ChrisSo, so you're, you're.
AnnSo you're Thanksgiving dinner all you ready at one time.
AnnLike, no.
ChrisYeah, the cooking coordination is tough.
ChrisBut I think you have the same issue at Christmas.
ChrisSo I'm kind of, I'm kind of knowing.
ChrisAvoiding that point.
ChrisBut.
ChrisSo wait.
ChrisThe thing I want to click into here is you're saying that your Thanksgiving dinner table conversations are a little more heated than your average Christmas dinner conversations or people are a little more lit up during Thanksgiving.
AnnFor sure.
AnnYou're like right, you're right.
AnnAfter an election.
AnnLike, you're like, really?
AnnYeah, I just, I think it's a bad time of year.
AnnYou will you start by saying what you're thankful for.
AnnAnd then it turns into how in the world could you have voted for that person?
AnnAnd everybody leaves drunk and angry.
ChrisThat's that.
AnnI love my synopsis of Thanksgiving.
ChrisMy absolute favorite thing is to sit down at any after any family dinner, whether it's Christmas or even Thanksgiving, any dinner really any family dinner, and sit there with coffee and just debate the hell out of everything.
ChrisWhich you know, I would love.
ChrisWhich is what partly all this podcast has come about.
ChrisIt's originated like I could do.
AnnYeah, but you're a master debater.
AnnLike you're a master debater.
AnnSo you win those arguments.
AnnLike you're not just casually sitting there trying to have a glass of wine and like picked up with your family.
AnnYou are prepared at any point in time.
AnnLike you could be mid sleep and wake up and still debate the hell out of something with somebody.
AnnNot all of us are like you, Chris.
AnnSo it does not end well.
AnnYou when you can't rapid fire arguments of like what policy was put into place on X date because this helped, you know, children get free school lunches.
AnnLike, I don't know.
ChrisOh my God.
AnnIt gets into bad territory.
ChrisOh my God.
ChrisThat is.
ChrisThat is true.
ChrisI.
ChrisI have, I have fractured quite a few family relationships over the years.
ChrisAs I'm thinking about this, my mom, if she's listening, will.
ChrisWill understand that that comment very well.
ChrisOh man.
ChrisAnd that was fun.
ChrisOh my God, I had a ton of fun doing this.
ChrisDid you have fun?
ChrisI thought it was great.
ChrisI had such a good time.
AnnI wanna, I want more holidays to throw in the mix.
ChrisI know we got tons, folks.
ChrisWe got tons of stuff.
ChrisWe're planning to rank here.
ChrisWe're gonna see if you guys like this.
ChrisWe'll keep doing it.
ChrisUm, I think at the end of the day, which, which holiday snuck in there that surprised you?
ChrisI think for me it was Memorial Day.
ChrisLike how we both came out from Memorial Day for sure was really interesting.
ChrisI had no doubt we were going to split on Thanksgiving because I know how much you just loathe gravy.
ChrisGravy enough, despite all the other points you had is is enough to turn your stomach.
ChrisSo.
ChrisSo, so we'll have to do it again, I think.
ChrisAnd, and I think we'll have to do this again.
ChrisYou and you personally, you're such a ranker.
ChrisI love it.
ChrisYou're such a ranker.
AnnI don't know.
AnnI think rank stuff might be contention for the best name for this.
AnnSo people listening 1 Submit your favorite title.
AnnYou're such a rank or rank stuff as which is your preferred title?
AnnIf we continue this podcast beyond one episode, which is highly debatable, and then two, what other things should we be ranking?
AnnAnything is open.
AnnThere is no thing that is out of bounds for this conversation.
ChrisYes.
ChrisAnd the other the last point I'd make too, is for those listening and watching, let us know, were you Team Ann or Team Chris in terms of how we ranked our five holidays?
ChrisBecause we are curious to know.
ChrisAnd was there a holiday that both of us missed that you think should have been included on the list?
ChrisYou know, so let us know on social media or on YouTube.
ChrisAnd of course, as always, on behalf of Ann and myself, be careful out there.
