Speaker A

Welcome to Love Notes from Rhonda.

Speaker A

And one of my favorite authors is Anthony DeMillo, and he has some amazing books.

Speaker A

And the one that I'm looking at right now is called the Way to Love.

Speaker A

I'm just gonna read a little passage out of it.

Speaker A

So go ahead and shut your eyes if you can.

Speaker A

If you're driving, please don't.

Speaker A

But if you can, just take this in.

Speaker A

If it is love that you truly desire, then set out at once on the task of seeing.

Speaker A

As you do this, the hard, protective shell around your heart will soften and melt, and your heart will come alive in sensitivity and responsiveness.

Speaker A

The darkness in your eyes will be dispelled and your vision will become clear and penetrating.

Speaker A

And you will know at last what love is.

Speaker A

If it is love that you truly desire, then set out at once on the task of seeing.

Speaker A

Seeing love.

Speaker A

You know, most of us are waiting to be loved, right?

Speaker A

We want to feel loved from outside of ourselves.

Speaker A

I mean, it's nice.

Speaker A

Don't get me wrong.

Speaker A

Who doesn't want that?

Speaker A

That's not what real love is, right?

Speaker A

That true, unchangeable, undeniable love.

Speaker A

Love is a choice that we make.

Speaker A

You and I make a choice to love.

Speaker A

I choose to love the person in front of me who's cutting me off in traffic.

Speaker A

I must choose.

Speaker A

That doesn't mean I can't be irritated.

Speaker A

But I see him through my eyes of love.

Speaker A

I see love.

Speaker A

And in him I see myself.

Speaker A

The harried, the confused, the unfocused, the hurried.

Speaker A

The person who doesn't notice the car that they're cutting off.

Speaker A

I've been there.

Speaker A

I have been that person.

Speaker A

So then why do we ever stop and get angry at the person cutting us off when we know that we too have been like that, if not exactly like that, but we have been careless.

Speaker A

We have hurt without reason.

Speaker A

We have said things that broke somebody's heart.

Speaker A

And we didn't do it spitefully or meanly or to purposely destroy somebody.

Speaker A

We did it because we're human.

Speaker A

And we forgot who we were.

Speaker A

And we forgot our connection with source, divine Spirit, God, whatever you want to call that thing larger than us.

Speaker A

You forgot who you were in that moment.

Speaker A

So if you want to feel more love, you must be willing to see love, share love, become love.

Speaker A

If you're going to really take on the thing called love, then the first thing that you're gonna need is gentleness.

Speaker A

Because you are going to fail a hundred thousand times today and a million more tomorrow.

Speaker A

But then, my friend, each and every day, the darkness will lift and you'll start seeing love where you never saw it before.

Speaker A

And most of all, you'll start seeing it in the mirror looking back at you.

Speaker A

That face in the mirror looking back at you.

Speaker A

You'll start seeing that love from that person called self acceptance.

Speaker A

Called self respect, called sovereignty, called joy, called honor.

Speaker A

To be who we are today.

Speaker A

So, my friend, if there's any part of you right now that is lonely and seeking love, or any part of you that just wishes you felt more love, or any part of you that is mad at somebody for not loving you the way you'd like to be loved, it is your work to do.

Speaker A

This is your work to do.

Speaker A

This is your work to do.

Speaker A

I know it sucks sometimes, but it's the truth.

Speaker A

And that's why you're here, aren't you?

Speaker A

You're here for the truth.

Speaker A

And you, my friend, are love itself.

Speaker A

Every cell, every hair, every heartbeat.

Speaker A

You are literally made up of stars.

Speaker A

The stars.

Speaker A

Decide today.

Speaker A

Decide to improve, decide to increase, decide to make an effort to be a little bit more loving, a little bit more open, a little bit more kind.

Speaker A

And when you do, you'll feel more love.

Speaker A

It'll be pouring through you.

Speaker A

And you'll feel it from others as well.

Speaker A

You'll feel it from the universe itself.

Speaker A

And isn't that why we're here?

Speaker A

Isn't that why we're really here?

Speaker A

Until next time, be fearless.

Speaker A

And I love you.
