All right.
Speaker:So as we enter 2025, I want to talk to you about the mindful path to building a
Speaker:successful coaching business, embracing Simplicity and Energy in 2025.
Speaker:So if you're a woo- woo, you're going to totally get this.
Speaker:If you're not, you'll still get it.
Speaker:You've reached a point in life, if you are older, let's say over 50, where wisdom,
Speaker:experience, and a touch of magic have rooted deeply.
Speaker:You've spent decades learning and growing and refining your ability to know yourself
Speaker:so that in turn, now you can guide others to do the same.
Speaker:Now you're ready to share this lifetime of growth and inner worldliness with a bigger
Speaker:audience, hence starting a coaching business.
Speaker:But let's be honest, doubts creep in, don't they?
Speaker:Doubts like, Isn't it too late to start something new?
Speaker:Am I too old to do this?
Speaker:Am I too old to even keep up with the technology and how rapidly it's changing?
Speaker:Will anyone take me seriously?
Speaker:Especially if you've had a past professional career and now you're leaning
Speaker:more into this woo-bu path, where do I even begin?
Speaker:So even the most tech savvy of us over 50 are overwhelmed by the online world on a
Speaker:good day and downright discouraged on the not so good ones.
Speaker:The endless The trends, the hype, the hustle, none of that helps.
Speaker:Frankly, the idea of staring at a screen all day doesn't exactly
Speaker:light your soul on fire.
Speaker:I will admit and confess that lately I have been staring at a screen
Speaker:far longer than I really want to.
Speaker:While I generally will say to my clients, if you
Speaker:don't want to do something, if you really, really don't want to do then don't,
Speaker:because you're bringing the wrong energy into it.
Speaker:However, I'm going to recognize here, pause for a moment, that we all have goals
Speaker:that we want to reach in our businesses.
Speaker:Sometimes that requires the bigger desire, I want to reach this goal, overrides
Speaker:the smaller, I don't want to be on this screen right now.
Speaker:That's what I'm getting to the point of for myself.
Speaker:And that's okay.
Speaker:We're going to have those moments here and there.
Speaker:But I want to recognize that at this point in life, in building a
Speaker:coaching business, we're not interested in chasing the shiny objects.
Speaker:And what you want in a coaching business in 2025 feels purposeful, aligned, and
Speaker:uniquely you, one that's bringing in income, utilizing
Speaker:your gifts, and making a difference.
Speaker:So that's what I mean about going forward in 2025 and protecting your energy and
Speaker:honoring this place that you're at in life where you can now really
Speaker:bring a lot to coaching.
Speaker:Protecting your energy, protecting your attention.
Speaker:We are in an attention economy.
Speaker:If you hop on YouTube right now, you'll find over a million videos about
Speaker:how to make a million dollars.
Speaker:Okay, maybe not a million videos, but darn close.
Speaker:And all that hype can dilute what really matters, which is building a business that
Speaker:feels really good to you, both in energy and practice.
Speaker:How does it fit into your life?
Speaker:So it's important to practice energy alignment in business, too.
Speaker:Now, there's this quote by Lão Hsu, and I think it's Lão Hsu.
Speaker:I'm going to pronounce it wrong, I know, but I apologize.
Speaker:He said it right when he said, I have just three Three things to teach:
Speaker:Simplicity, patience, and compassion.
Speaker:These three are your greatest treasures.
Speaker:I absolutely love that.
Speaker:It's so very true.
Speaker:So simplicity, patience, and compassion.
Speaker:Not only compassion for others, but compassion for yourself as someone
Speaker:who is building a business.
Speaker:So anchor into your energy.
Speaker:Let's talk about this a little bit.
Speaker:When the noise gets overwhelming or downright agitating, I want you to try
Speaker:this, this three-step energy alignment process.
Speaker:Close your eyes. Take three deep breaths.
Speaker:Picture a moment when everything felt right, like the universe
Speaker:was working with you.
Speaker:And it is, by the way.
Speaker:Ask yourself, what emotions were present?
Speaker:How did my energy feel?
Speaker:Think about that for a moment and what answers come up for you?
Speaker:With those answers in mind, what emotions were present in that memory when
Speaker:everything felt right, and how did your energy feel?
Speaker:Can you write down just one word that captures that feeling?
Speaker:So whether it's calm, magnetic, focused, joyful, whatever that word is, go ahead
Speaker:and write it down or hold it in your mind.
Speaker:Let this word become your anchor.
Speaker:So before making any business decisions, ask yourself, how can I bring
Speaker:this energy into my work today?
Speaker:So for me, when everything was going right, I'm
Speaker:going to say that I felt in the flow.
Speaker:In the flow.
Speaker:That has multiple meanings for me.
Speaker:But just as an example, so anytime I am making business decisions or even if I in
Speaker:a moment of frustration, I can stop myself and anchor into that energy and ask
Speaker:myself, how can I bring the energy of in the flow into this moment?
Speaker:Or how can I bring the energy of calm into this moment?
Speaker:How can I bring the energy of being magnetic into this moment?
Speaker:Do whatever brings that energy forward, then proceed.
Speaker:Everything is energy.
Speaker:This is a mindful business building practice.
Speaker:And if you're struggling, you can always try my seven minute shift.
Speaker:It's the book that I wrote, The Seven Minute Shift.
Speaker:It's the book that I wrote, The 7 Minute Shift.
Speaker:You can find it on Amazon.
Speaker:It's an extended exercise similar to this, but there are more,
Speaker:obviously, seven steps.
Speaker:I highly encourage you to give it a try.
Speaker:It's something I still use nearly daily.
Speaker:Okay, so So let's answer the question of, is it too late?
Speaker:No, it's never too late. It's never too late.
Speaker:You're not too late. You're actually right on time.
Speaker:So starting and growing a coaching business is a lot.
Speaker:Doing it later in life, even with all of the marketing and
Speaker:everything that makes you feel like you have to be young and trendy
Speaker:to keep up, it's okay.
Speaker:You can still do it, right?
Speaker:This is all about the right timing.
Speaker:You have more time, you have more attention,
Speaker:you, I dare say, have more energy, I think you do, to bring to this
Speaker:this venture, this huge project this contribution to the world.
Speaker:I talk about this very specifically in the four-part audio series
Speaker:Crossing Inner Threshold. It's on my website.
Speaker:You can access it for free.
Speaker:I talk about that very specifically in there, about why this is
Speaker:the right time for you.
Speaker:There are some factors that come into play here.
Speaker:Here's the thing.
Speaker:Your age, your woo- woo perspective, if you have that, you're lived
Speaker:experiences, they're not a limitation.
Speaker:They're actually your unique edge.
Speaker:It was part of it.
Speaker:Someone has to have a higher, wider vision, right?
Speaker:And that's you.
Speaker:But even with that, it It took me a while to figure out things
Speaker:like, lean into tried and true
Speaker:foundational marketing and ditch the trends, hype and hustle.
Speaker:Just let it all go.
Speaker:There are going to be some things I may pull back in here and there
Speaker:because I find it useful.
Speaker:It's something that I want to do.
Speaker:But for the moment, I can give myself permission to just let all of that go.
Speaker:Create offers that feel aligned with my energy and resonate with my clients.
Speaker:Build a business that doesn't just work, but works for me me.
Speaker:If it isn't working for me, how can I bring the right energy to my clients?
Speaker:It took me even longer to realize that what I create now will likely
Speaker:evolve and change over time.
Speaker:There's no set it and forget it.
Speaker:There's no, let me just put some social media posts out there, start getting
Speaker:some clients, and call it a day.
Speaker:No, it doesn't work that way.
Speaker:But it's a good thing, right?
Speaker:Because all I can really do is my best right now and take it day by day,
Speaker:protecting my attention and practices and continuing to learn, right?
Speaker:All I can do is protect my attention and my awareness as I go.
Speaker:One way I do this is through, as I said, practices.
Speaker:I have daily practices to keep my vibration high.
Speaker:Inside advanced manifesting, you can get a whole library of practices that
Speaker:I have put in there for you.
Speaker:But let me give you some examples.
Speaker:Every morning, I generally read, I may do some journaling,
Speaker:and I definitely meditate.
Speaker:Now, when I say meditate, what I mean is I take some time to quiet
Speaker:my mind and really drop down into that place of pure presence.
Speaker:Now, these days, I typically prefer a guided
Speaker:meditation, or it might just be music.
Speaker:I find that because I'm so very visual and I absolutely love calming, relaxing
Speaker:music, that that works faster for me.
Speaker:I can certainly sit in silence and meditate as well.
Speaker:I've practiced many different disciplines of meditation over 20 years or so.
Speaker:However, these days, I would say that I most enjoy a guided meditation
Speaker:meditation with music.
Speaker:So typically, that's what I will do.
Speaker:And then throughout the day, I will add in little moments.
Speaker:And I say moments, like literally seconds of an advanced manifesting technique,
Speaker:and definitely right before I go to bed.
Speaker:So this is just part of my daily practices, right?
Speaker:Sometimes, depending on what cycle I'm in, I may have longer meditations.
Speaker:I have gone many months with meditating three times a day for at
Speaker:least 45 minutes each.
Speaker:Sometimes it's only 10 minutes a day, right?
Speaker:So it just depends. But that fluctuates a bit.
Speaker:But I do have daily practices to protect my energy and raise my vibration.
Speaker:And the same goes for you that in order to build something that is such a
Speaker:huge contribution to others, i. E.
Speaker:A coaching business, you must protect your energy,
Speaker:keep your vibration buy, and that comes about through daily practices.
Speaker:And you may already have your own, but if you don't, I highly encourage
Speaker:you to get some in place.
Speaker:The doing side.
Speaker:Focus on what matters.
Speaker:What if you could attract clients who truly value your wisdom
Speaker:and unique perspective?
Speaker:Create offers that don't just sell but improve lives and build a business that
Speaker:fits seamlessly into your life without the grind or burnout.
Speaker:That's what we've been talking about.
Speaker:Well, the good news is you can and you will.
Speaker:But it's not about doing everything, like posting on social media daily, launching a
Speaker:YouTube channel, although I am about to do so, podcast or community, writing
Speaker:a book, running ads, speaking, etc.
Speaker:All of those things may come about, but it isn't about doing all of
Speaker:that immediately and right now.
Speaker:There's some things that you're going to need in order for that to happen in a way
Speaker:that is aligned and natural, and that's clarity is the big thing.
Speaker:That's not something that you want to try and force because it's just going to drain
Speaker:your energy at that point rather than build it up.
Speaker:It's not about doing everything right now.
Speaker:It's about doing the right things in a way that feels right for you
Speaker:and when it feels right to.
Speaker:Your first step.
Speaker:Your simplified action plan.
Speaker:So write down three things that you'd like to help people do.
Speaker:Identify your who, your target audience, define them well as well
Speaker:as you can, describe them.
Speaker:Choose one social media platform that they're and make it a goal to learn the
Speaker:most effective way to reach them there.
Speaker:If you're just starting out, focus on one client persona, one platform,
Speaker:one social media platform, and one offer.
Speaker:Create one offer that's relevant and appealing to your audience.
Speaker:Focus on these until something's working.
Speaker:You're getting conversations and clients.
Speaker:If things aren't working, you may need to adjust one of the three and try again.
Speaker:But you're going to experiment until it's working really, really well.
Speaker:And this is important because once you have just those three things working
Speaker:really well on one platform, you can then take it to another and another or a
Speaker:YouTube channel or a podcast, right?
Speaker:Because you will have figured out some really crucial pieces.
Speaker:The essentials checklist.
Speaker:So when you feel overwhelmed, I want you to go back to this, What three
Speaker:things do I help people do?
Speaker:Who are my people?
Speaker:Where are they?
Speaker:What's my offer?
Speaker:Once you're clear on this, take it a step further.
Speaker:Identify your message.
Speaker:Who do you help and what outcome do you help them achieve?
Speaker:This is that general messaging statement that we create
Speaker:to share in our business through the content that we create.
Speaker:And we say, I am a coach.
Speaker:I help XYZ do A, B, C, whatever that is for you.
Speaker:Create an aligned offer. Start small.
Speaker:Solve micro struggles or micro problems, and create stepping stones
Speaker:to their desired outcome.
Speaker:Discover your unique method.
Speaker:What's your blend of gifts and insights?
Speaker:Lean into that magic, right?
Speaker:There is, regardless of how many people that have the same title as you, let's
Speaker:say, for example, that you are a life coach.
Speaker:There are a lot of life coaches out there, but each life coach has their own
Speaker:unique way of doing what they do. So do you.
Speaker:I want you to take some time to discover what that is so that can
Speaker:help you stand apart.
Speaker:Market with realness. Be raw, conversational, and true.
Speaker:Talk about struggles, desired outcomes, and solutions in everyday language
Speaker:like you're talking to a friend.
Speaker:This is the way that I have always done things.
Speaker:It's what comes natural to me.
Speaker:Personally, to try to make something super perfect and polished is
Speaker:just a lot of stress.
Speaker:And so I don't really do that.
Speaker:It might be to my detriment, but that's okay.
Speaker:I don't really care.
Speaker:This is just the way I do things.
Speaker:For some people, it's quite the opposite, and that feels really good to
Speaker:them and is really easy for them.
Speaker:So when you can find your voice and be conversational and real and have these
Speaker:conversations like you're talking to a friend, you make deeper connections.
Speaker:You show people, in particular, your audience, that you're real.
Speaker:You're a real person.
Speaker:You make mistakes fakes, you struggle, too.
Speaker:But you've done these things to get ahead and reach the goal that your
Speaker:target audience is after.
Speaker:And in that, they can see themselves and therefore relate to you.
Speaker:And that's what we're after.
Speaker:Content creation.
Speaker:Let's make it simpler.
Speaker:So here's a quick exercise to simplify knowing what to talk about.
Speaker:Take a piece of paper and write, I wish I could, at the top.
Speaker:Step into the mindset of your ideal client and finish the sentence three times.
Speaker:I wish I could figure out how to start my business without feeling so overwhelmed.
Speaker:Or whatever it is that your target audience, your ideal client,
Speaker:however they would finish the I wish I could statement.
Speaker:I wish I could feel more confident about the woohoo side of my business.
Speaker:I wish I could feel like my age is an asset, not a limitation.
Speaker:These are your topics.
Speaker:These are topics that you can write about or create posts for social media or emails
Speaker:or videos or audios, whatever it is that you want to create.
Speaker:This is a very quick way to figure out some ideas on what to talk about.
Speaker:Just know that your time is now.
Speaker:The world is shifting, it always will be, and people are craving the
Speaker:wisdom, energy, and guidance only you can bring.
Speaker:And I will interject here.
Speaker:Some of the trends that I know are happening right now in terms of marketing
Speaker:is that people are really wanting this more real and raw presentation or
Speaker:interaction or even just viewing experience.
Speaker:Meaning they don't necessarily want the polished presentation.
Speaker:They want to see the real person, just like my mistakes here.
Speaker:They want to see what they're doing, what's working, what's not working,
Speaker:the honesty, the transparency, and the authenticity.
Speaker:So lean into that.
Speaker:Lean into that.
Speaker:Starting your coaching business or growing your coaching business isn't
Speaker:about doing everything yourself.
Speaker:Even though you are a solo coach, I want you to know that it's about doing
Speaker:the right things in a way that's right for you.
Speaker:There is so much more that I want to share with you, and we're going to dive in with
Speaker:each episode into so many different topics around building a coaching business solo
Speaker:and everything that you need to do that.
Speaker:And as I said, we're going to talk a lot about the energy side of things as
Speaker:well, and I can't wait to talk more.
