[00:00:00] Katching Up With Katie. She heard about the horse show. I was left out of the horse show 'cause I'm

[00:00:04] a guest. Go somewhere else with that. She's friends with small guys. It's a really tricky

[00:00:09] slope, sharing animals on the internet. Just needed to address that. Welcome back to Katching

[00:00:14] Up With Katie. And today we have a... I don't know what you want to call her. She's here. A guest,

[00:00:22] I guess. Kind of a guest. Okay, you're a guest in our home. Anyway, normally when we have someone

[00:00:33] like her on, her being Rebecca, if you don't know, she is my best friend, we tend to do the whole,

[00:00:42] okay, we have questions for you, type deal. I really liked last week with Stephanie and Matt,

[00:00:48] though Matt's not here because he has a child now. Another one. And so he is with his wife,

[00:00:54] where he should be. But last week, Stephanie came on, and she liked it a lot better too,

[00:00:59] where it's just another yapper. It's not so much that we're always putting someone in the hot seat,

[00:01:04] but I'm a great yapper, I just needed someone to sit there. Fill the spot. Anyway, I do love

[00:01:12] her a lot, though. We wanted to bring her in on this because she has thoughts. She heard about

[00:01:18] the horse show. I was left out of the horse show 'cause I'm a guest, and I'm highly offended. I am

[00:01:26] highly offended by it, that I was left out. You're not left out, you just don't work here. Well,

[00:01:33] according to a lot of people, they think I do. I also live here. You live here. I live here. Yeah,

[00:01:38] I'm just paid to be here. I didn't see a need, but now that you've given me some of your thoughts...

[00:01:45] Yes, I understand. So I have thoughts as well, because didn't you say there was an entry fee now,

[00:01:52] though? Now, the initial rounding, I'm not going to smoke you. I mean, that's,

[00:01:56] she's not riding. We also don't have another horse. We don't have another horse as well. The

[00:02:03] more we talked about this horse show, which, if you didn't watch the last episode, you're

[00:02:06] just going to have to go catch up. I can't catch you up right now on that. Katching Up With Katie.

[00:02:14] It's almost like that, what it is. Anyway, so we are doing a horse show, and the more we talked

[00:02:18] about it, even off camera, the more we realized we're going to need lots of people. It's not just,

[00:02:24] oh, we need a judge. No, Stephanie is going to need someone else helping y'all on the day of,

[00:02:30] because it's not so much just helping with giving all the lessons. She's going to be making sure

[00:02:36] everyone is safe, tacked up, and there's going to be a lot going on, so she's going to need help. I

[00:02:42] think it'd be great, because obviously we want to utilize this thing we're doing to the best. So we

[00:02:49] need a roaming reporter. Okay. That's roaming around and just checking on everybody. Got it,

[00:02:58] I can do that. They need a good personality. And then probably find somebody else. And then I need

[00:03:06] a commentator with me, 'cause I want to be the one being like, walk your horses. That's a dream

[00:03:11] of mine that I'm fulfilling in this. So I want to be the announcer, commentator, and the MC, kind

[00:03:17] of deal. But I need someone else with me. I need a co-host. We got to that. I think we could do it. I

[00:03:28] think also we need multiple judges. I don't think there should just be one judge, that's too easy

[00:03:32] to rig. I think each category needs a judge, and so that's four people right there. They're going

[00:03:40] to need a ring steward. Who's a ring steward? They tell you where to go, where to line up.

[00:03:49] Or it could be like a ring steward slash scribe. Steward, like Stewart? No, steward like the name

[00:04:03] steward. We could find a steward. Somebody that could dual-purpose as the ring steward plus a

[00:04:12] scribe. So when the judge is watching, you don't want to be looking down at your paper and writing,

[00:04:17] so usually they have a scribe with them, so the judge can be watching and be like, oh, they broke

[00:04:22] minus whatever, you know. And we can't have the same scribe for all the judges, because what if

[00:04:31] they're a rat? Dirty. What if they're like, hey, Rachel bombed the pleasure, you better make her

[00:04:38] win the horsemanship so she'll win. We can't have a rat. So, lots of things to think about. But you

[00:04:45] also had another idea, and I liked your idea. So back in the day, our town hosted this horse show,

[00:04:50] and they would gather the town children, the town teens, to present the awards in prom dresses.

[00:04:58] Every year I had to wear a full prom dress, and a random guy in a tuxedo. The one year you had the—

[00:05:08] We don't need to talk about childhood. That wasn't— which one, which outfit? I was just going

[00:05:14] to talk about your dress. I wasn't going to talk about you getting left on the side of the road,

[00:05:18] but listen. No, I didn't. I had a date go wrong, and instead of just ending the date nicely,

[00:05:29] he said, you could exit the vehicle, and then I had to call my parents to come get me from

[00:05:33] a parking lot. In said dress. My god. I was just going to say it was a very interesting,

[00:05:41] very bright mint greenish, I had rhinestones. Oh, very rhinestone plunge for a fifteen-year-old,

[00:05:48] you know. It was not my husband, by the way. That was not fifteen. Maybe fifteen,

[00:05:54] fourteen, fifteen. Anyways, at the end, when the winner would come in, kind of like Katie

[00:05:58] goes out at the AQHA shows and stands with a thing, but we did it in prom dresses,

[00:06:03] for some unknown reason, you imagine. So I thought, I have lots of bridesmaids' dresses,

[00:06:09] I have my prom dresses. Could you, are you still fitting in the prom dresses? Yeah,

[00:06:14] I can fit my prom dresses. I've been calling her and Rachel both the worm from Men in Black. Can

[00:06:21] we get a photo of said worm? Yeah, here it comes. That's just to humble them, you know,

[00:06:30] that's what they remind me of. Usually you say I'm Slenderman, so it's actually a downgrade to

[00:06:35] the worm. I think you need a fancy presenter, a little man in a suit. Be cool. Prom dress.

[00:06:43] We could have outfit changes between events. Be a surprise. Who's the man in a suit? I don't know,

[00:06:48] I do have some mini men in my life. Little minis. So, are we talking Edward and Jacob? Larger. Oh,

[00:06:59] maybe a return home, a little home visit. Well, that would be Edward and Jacob, too. Yeah, that's

[00:07:03] true, I think that would be hilarious. But how are you my co-host if you're also the prom queen

[00:07:09] presenter? I could just co-host in a prom dress. Co-host in the dress. I feel like this horse show

[00:07:16] is turning into thirty inside jokes. Cool. I like a co-host in a prom dress, it's amazing.

[00:07:27] But it has to be the flashiest, worst-looking prom dress. Got to be good. It can't be a good one. Oh,

[00:07:35] we got to make— no, we got to make this right, we got to do good, we got to make it us. I think we

[00:07:43] make it right with the judges, we make it us with ourselves. Well, there'll be a half. I will be in

[00:07:50] correct attire. You'll be in horseshoe attire. Yeah, I'm in correct horse show attire. Are you

[00:07:56] wearing chaps? We got to get you chaps. Oh yeah, I'll have to find some. I think there's plenty of

[00:08:04] consignments and whatever, there's no reason for you to spend a bunch of money on chaps. I mean,

[00:08:09] I should probably offer a budget up for the clothes, now that I think about it, so I'll think

[00:08:16] about that. We know some people, other men in the industry, I'm sure we can bum some chaps. I don't

[00:08:22] know, I don't know if I have any men that I'm close enough with, that are of the same stature,

[00:08:32] that I can get chaps off of. But we'll see, we'll see. She's friends with small guys. Stop it.

[00:08:46] I'm just saying, tall, and that's why they won't fit me. So at least she doesn't say you're a worm.

[00:08:57] You're not a worm. Why? I'm friends with worms. You're all worms. Dani's a worm,

[00:09:02] too. She's just a jacked worm. The alpha worm. She is, though, her stature is very worm-esque.

[00:09:09] Anyway, we're off subject. So you want to be the prom queen slash co-host? That was just an idea,

[00:09:17] because I always thought that was very funny. I think it's funny as well. Back in the day I

[00:09:21] was like, I want to be that. Why can't I wear the prom dress? What's the event where they do

[00:09:28] their thing to the song, where everyone has a different song? Well, any freestyle, whatever,

[00:09:35] you can do whatever you want in a freestyle into a song. Okay, well, no, what was the

[00:09:41] event where we were sitting in the little— that was a horsemanship class, that was a challenge.

[00:09:45] Remember, they had five minutes to memorize a pattern, and then they each had a song. Yeah, that

[00:09:50] was fun. That was specific to, I think it was NSBA World. I think it was. Are there any game classes,

[00:09:59] are y'all doing egg and spoon or anything like that? Do you ride around with a spoon and an egg,

[00:10:04] and whoever can hold their egg the longest wins? Oh, sign me up. So you have the bounciest horse

[00:10:10] out of everybody. But I like games. I remember when I went to that fun horse show as a kid,

[00:10:19] which pony did I take? Probably Romeo or Shammy. Oh, maybe Tag, I don't know. I just remember being

[00:10:25] really embarrassed 'cause I couldn't get back on after musical sacks. Yeah, that was my favorite.

[00:10:30] What is that? Oh my gosh, me and musical sacks, we cleaned up. You put feed sacks in the middle of

[00:10:36] the arena, and then you ride around, but you can't come in on the— there's cones, there's a rectangle

[00:10:41] of cones, you can't come in the short ends. So on the long end, you want to go as slow as possible,

[00:10:44] but you can't walk, so you've got your horse just, and then when you hit the corner,

[00:10:47] you barrel around, because if the music stops and you're on the corner, you've got to make it to a

[00:10:51] long end to come in. And then you have to get off your horse and get on a feed sack. But people are

[00:10:55] jumping off mid-step. You get back on the horse, but I couldn't. How old would I have been? Oh,

[00:11:06] you've been like ten, eleven. I should have been able. No, younger, 'cause I was like— so you were

[00:11:13] like nine? Yeah, I thought I was younger. I think it was probably Romeo, I don't think Tag was big,

[00:11:20] Tag would've been hard to get on. But yeah, I remember we had the dollar, where you ride

[00:11:27] bareback and put the dollar underneath your leg. That might not be safe for this horse. No, no,

[00:11:31] no, it's not. You put the dollar under your leg and you don't want to let the dollar fall. Then

[00:11:37] whoever wins gets the dollars, all the dollars. I didn't know there were games on the shows. I did,

[00:11:45] I told this to Stephanie, I didn't tell this to them, that next year, when maybe they're a little

[00:11:50] bit more savvy in the saddle, we could implement a barrel race. Yeah, I think so. It doesn't have

[00:11:56] to be top speed on your western pleasure horses, it's not like they're going to know what to do,

[00:12:01] the horses aren't going to— well, you saw that video of Denver, he was getting pushed. I'm saying

[00:12:08] they're not going to see a barrel, 'cause barrel horses just run the pattern on the rail, they'd be

[00:12:12] like, what is this cone that we're loping around? They'd be so confused. I have some barrels, I'll

[00:12:16] bring you barrels, I've got three. Nice. So we could, I don't know, we could do things like that,

[00:12:20] but we've got to ease into this. Over fences, we could really up it. We could do trail, we could do

[00:12:31] a little crossrail class. I'm talking crossrails. Matt is pushing for us to do an English version.

[00:12:40] Has he ridden an English saddle? He wants so badly to wear an English outfit, he wants the pants,

[00:12:46] so badly. He asked me if he could wear an English outfit for this. You should let him,

[00:12:50] he could probably borrow my— I don't want to let him, I don't want him to be out there, you know,

[00:12:58] he arches his back so scantily. I can just imagine him in an English saddle, arched back, like—

[00:13:08] —tall boots. So that's where we're at on the horse show. You did have your first lesson? I did. What

[00:13:17] did you think? I thought it went well. It did, I thought, I mentally learned some things. I'm still

[00:13:27] sore. Really? Yes. Was that— was it Tuesday? Just riding, he rode for like fifteen minutes.

[00:13:36] Fifteen minutes, maybe. Good. The thighs or the butt? I was shocked, was it the butt bones? No,

[00:13:41] it's— well, no, my butt would really hurt, like the two bones at the bottom of your butt. Three

[00:13:46] hours in Texas last year. It was on the leg. Are you more sore than Texas, when you rode that

[00:13:52] horse? Mhm. Were you overly tense? I don't know, I think I'm just the weakest I've ever been. What?

[00:14:00] I will say, it is shocking, the different muscles you use on a western pleasure horse, because

[00:14:07] you're not just pushing, you're trying to finesse. And she was saying stuff like, make a wall, type

[00:14:16] things, and you don't really have to do that when you're not doing that. A lot of core engagement.

[00:14:23] So it was pretty rough the next day. I don't even think about Kennedy being one to do that,

[00:14:30] because I've been using those muscles since I was little, so they're just there. I have muscles you

[00:14:37] don't have for other things. I feel like she's one that takes less leg than others. Well,

[00:14:45] I never knew— squeeze anything? Okay, I'm so glad you just said that, no knee squeezing. Well,

[00:14:52] I'm not talking about squeezing with my knees. To squeeze with your knees, you have to push with

[00:14:59] your leg once you get a little more comfortable in the saddle. It's more so a sinking down into your

[00:15:07] heel. 'Cause I did notice, as you were riding, one of the things was your leg would creep up, creep

[00:15:12] up, creep up. It's more of a sinking down and then around, versus a pinching. Almost lose weight in

[00:15:20] your heels. Imagine, like if you stood up on a staircase and put your weight through your heels,

[00:15:24] your feet, you want to be balancing, not balancing on your toes, definitely don't do that, but your

[00:15:30] weight through your feet. I'm understanding the feet, but being down and then around,

[00:15:36] versus just sitting on the horse and then pinching. So you want to hug the horse,

[00:15:41] not squeeze the horse, right? But I feel like the hug would still use those inner muscles.

[00:15:48] I guess what I'm trying to say is, I'm never doing anything that uses those muscles,

[00:15:56] whether we're properly hugging or just squeezing or whatever. It would be the first time for that.

[00:16:02] Sure, we're going to get you that. What's that machine? They were cooked, you know what I'm

[00:16:05] talking about. He calls it a good girl. The good girl, bad girls, that's what he calls it. Well,

[00:16:09] you don't have to sit like this, it's an adductor and abductor. Squeeze your legs closed, and you

[00:16:13] push them the other way. Good girl. Adductor and abductor. Yes, I think I just get tripped up on

[00:16:23] that. Who told you they were called good girls and bad girls? My wife. Does she sit appropriately on

[00:16:30] it, or does she— no, she sits appropriately on it, but she was just like, oh, just do the good

[00:16:35] girl bad girl machine. I'm like, what? Every time I do this for the rest of my life, I'll be like,

[00:16:40] good girl, bad girl, it's never going to leave my brain. She's like, I don't know, that's just what

[00:16:45] I call it. Well, we're building a gym, we're going to start working out. Look at us, ready?

[00:16:51] Here's the before. Are we getting this on camera? Everybody do their befores. No, absolutely not.

[00:16:56] Before. No. How's it look? My arms, weakest I've ever been. I said, oh no, my grandmother's amulet.

[00:17:04] Let me see it. Oh, that's a good muscle, look at that, look at that. I'll do both,

[00:17:09] I'll do veins. Oh yeah, that's my left one. Your translucent skin. Can you see my right

[00:17:14] one over there? Hi. This is all I got. That's good, it's good for being the weakest I've ever

[00:17:19] been. What about for a girl? That's my left arm, pretty good. That's my left arm, it looks like

[00:17:23] on Spongebob. I am built just like Spongebob, like a square, just like me. Remember when he

[00:17:31] went and worked out and had a skinny little arm? So we're going to get fit in our garage, 'cause,

[00:17:42] you know, I turned thirty a couple weeks ago, or like a month and a half ago, I don't know. And

[00:17:49] as soon as I turned thirty, I started waking up at six a.m. and hurting everywhere. So I'm like,

[00:17:55] shoot, I am a fairly active person, but I want to start working out. I'm going to get a personal

[00:18:03] trainer. I'm already getting a personal trainer, and starting off being like, listen, I'm not doing

[00:18:09] burpees, I'm a grown woman, I don't have to. But I just want to do supportive exercises for mobility,

[00:18:20] I want to keep mobility as long as I can. I want to show horses, I want to be active,

[00:18:24] I want to take care of my knees, take care of whatever. I used to squat heavy and do things

[00:18:28] wrong, and I've really messed myself up in a lot of ways. So I don't want to just go work

[00:18:33] out and then hurt myself. I need someone to be like, no, we're going to start this way,

[00:18:38] or use bands this way, or whatever, because I just want to support everything around,

[00:18:42] just like with the horses, I want to support everything around the joints and stuff.

[00:18:46] So we decided— it's funny, we have a lot of space in the shop, but not really to work out, or put a

[00:18:56] little workout area, and it's not private either, in the mornings, and I don't want to work out in

[00:18:59] front of everybody. I like that it's right there, that area in my garage, it's a two-car garage,

[00:19:10] or when it's nice out we can open the doors and have that whole flat concrete space to do stuff

[00:19:17] outside. So yeah, we're going to start doing that. They were cleaning out the garage today. Before,

[00:19:23] we were both so busy, we used to work out together all the time, we were consistent, multiple times

[00:19:28] a week in the gym. That's the only time ever my butt was so big, 'cause I made her squat heavier,

[00:19:36] it was huge, and we loved it. We would be mean to each other, because I'd be like, ah, I just don't

[00:19:43] feel like going today, and she'd be like, get up. You know this about me, I used to work out a lot,

[00:19:49] like a lot. It's different seasons of life. I was my heaviest a couple years ago, I got down like

[00:19:56] sixty pounds, and then I've been kind of just steady. And I'm like, okay, I don't ever want

[00:20:00] to be as skinny as I was at twenty-two years old, I don't care about that, I don't want to do that.

[00:20:04] What I want is to just be fit and be able to do the things that I want to do. So I'm just

[00:20:12] thinking preemptively, when do you do the least and eat the most? Winter, bowling season. But

[00:20:20] if we have this space that has a heater, and it's inside, and it's right there, we could do a group

[00:20:26] activity. That's right. And we weren't working out then for weight loss, we were lifting, we weren't—

[00:20:33] we used to go on walks, but that was just for— we used to call those the depression confessions.

[00:20:38] Yes. It was not hot girl walks. Yesterday she was like, you want to go on a hot girl walk? I'm like,

[00:20:43] girl, I've been hot and walking all day. No, you can hot-girl hang out over here. I'm like, I'm in,

[00:20:49] I've been out since seven a.m. I mean, it's two o'clock. No, I'm in. I had to hot girl walk

[00:20:53] alone. What is a hot girl walk? Well, we don't have those. Like I said, we have the depression

[00:20:58] confessions, where we've talked about life, meander, and— what is a hot girl walk supposed

[00:21:04] to be? It's just girls that wake up and walk. You just see them walking, in their little two-piece

[00:21:11] sets. It's just us walking. Macy's been doing some Pilates. No, it's not Pilates, similar. I don't

[00:21:21] know that word, new word for me, I don't know what that is. Similar to Pilates. Did you get the Smith

[00:21:27] machine, the one I sent you? No, we have a Smith machine in our house I like to use, it's how I

[00:21:32] got that singular muscle. We ran out of garage space. You could have two muscles. I feel like

[00:21:42] my garage is probably two of these rooms. What's a two-car garage, most people can visualize that.

[00:21:48] That's about a car. So I feel like we could bring in a good bit of stuff. I think you said Jonathan

[00:21:54] wants a treadmill. Nobody's going to touch that but him. I'll run. I mean, yeah, I think everyone

[00:21:59] would. I think I like the outdoors, but when it's cold, frigid— well, you've seen my running pace,

[00:22:06] I demonstrated it for you, it's pretty much— I do think, you know, I have so many content

[00:22:14] ideas if I didn't have to be a participant, I would love to see everyone's full sprint. Let's

[00:22:20] do it. I'm so slow. Let's do it, I don't want to participate, though. Who do we think is the

[00:22:26] fastest, full sprint? Out of who? Just the normal day-to-day group. Let me think. I don't know,

[00:22:38] I think Stephanie, Stephanie's probably quick. You think she's fit? You think Stephanie's faster

[00:22:44] than me? I think he's probably the fastest, but I think he'd be the hare and she'd be the tortoise.

[00:22:49] You'd probably split it into a men's and a women's group. Yes, for physical things. Yes, it's true,

[00:22:57] I would still think I would be the fastest. I'm very pro women being better than men, I'm just

[00:23:03] saying that's why they're split up in sports, not physically better. You'd probably be the fastest,

[00:23:10] I think I would be the fastest, I wouldn't be the strongest. Jonathan's been running every

[00:23:13] day. Really? I've been running, but he's not part of the everyday crew, he's been running every day,

[00:23:20] so he's been running a mile or two, so I don't know if it's fast, I haven't watched him. Yeah,

[00:23:25] I know he's been running, though, but he does have a hurt foot. So I have not been running. I

[00:23:30] still bet you— I don't know if Matt's— I think the last time I clocked my speed I was around nineteen

[00:23:39] miles an hour. I've never clocked my speed, I don't know what that means. I do cover a lot of

[00:23:44] ground in a single stride. I don't know what that means either. My fastest mile ever was like seven

[00:23:52] minutes, ten seconds, which is not very fast. I worked really hard to get there, that's what

[00:24:00] I'm saying. We're going to have a leg up on the little short girls, we just cover more ground. It

[00:24:06] literally sounds like fee-fi-fo-fum when I start running. I've seen your showmanship patterns,

[00:24:14] there is nothing light and airy about me, there is nothing. You're very light and airy, yes you are.

[00:24:18] Stop it. There's nothing— I'm cumbersome. Doesn't matter, doesn't matter how tiny I was in my past

[00:24:24] life, I have no coordination unless I'm on a horse, or for a stupid hand-eye sport. That's it.

[00:24:42] So here's the thing, I feel like no one else knows about that show, and me and you, Michael, we love

[00:24:46] that show. I know, me and you love that show, and it was like a miniseries back in the day.

[00:24:52] Yes. And everybody knows about it. I'm watching True Blood right now, no one else knows about the

[00:24:58] werepanther girl, the girl— it took me a second, I was like, where do I know her from? She plays the

[00:25:03] same role in everything, just like helpless. You guys have not watched Hatfields & McCoys. Listen,

[00:25:09] it was— what's his name, it is what fueled the book that I wrote. Love Is Timeless,

[00:25:14] okay, that was a period piece. That was another one, that wasn't a fantasy. There was a period

[00:25:18] piece, there was a fantasy, and then there was a period piece. I haven't read the period

[00:25:20] piece. The period piece was, I had a teenage girl whose dad made a time machine. Anyway, whatever.

[00:25:30] She goes back in time, she lands in a wooded area, is found by— so it's Outlander? Is found

[00:25:37] by a handsome man, it's Outlander? It kind of was pre-Outlander. I was saying, found by— listen,

[00:25:43] though, listen, don't you point your finger at me, mother speaking for my face. She lands in a wooded

[00:25:50] area, is found by a boy that is her age, that is handsome. He's a— he's a McCoy. She gets taken

[00:25:58] to his family, they take care of her, they're bewildered by the fact that she has her cell phone

[00:26:02] and all this stuff. Then her best friend realizes what happened back home. Her best friend— did I

[00:26:08] come for you? No, this is not us, at all. So then she goes through the time machine, she also lands

[00:26:18] in a wooded area, it's on the Hatfield side, and then she gets taken in by a Hatfield boy. Then I

[00:26:28] think that's about where I got. So you didn't know what to do after that. Okay, watch it,

[00:26:35] I'll watch it. Like Kevin Costner, Kevin Costner wrote it before Yellowstone. Kevin Costner. Yes,

[00:26:40] Kevin Costner. Yes, I will watch this, it's so good. It was like back in the day, where,

[00:26:47] Jonesy— there was no streaming. Jonesy McCoy. Wait, no, he was a Hatfield. Jonesy. There was

[00:26:54] no streaming, everyone was like, oh my gosh, the new Hatfields is coming out,

[00:26:58] I had to wait, I had to wait a week. So they've gone back to doing that. I know,

[00:27:03] I'm waiting for House of the Dragon to fully come out before— I haven't watched a single episode of

[00:27:10] a TV show in, I think, two months. How come? Just been busy, don't have time. You've been

[00:27:18] reading. I've been reading right now, on our trip. I went on a trip with Rachel and Elena,

[00:27:25] finally read the book I've been telling you about, I literally read like 1,200 pages, 'cause it's

[00:27:30] that good. If you'd listened to me three years ago— when I get into reading, I get into reading,

[00:27:35] and then I won't touch a book for like two years. I read a little bit last night. Good. I'm trying

[00:27:41] to get back into it, but honestly, during the week I just get too tired and then I fall asleep. So

[00:27:48] I'm on the second Fourth Wing book, is it Iron Flame? Iron Flame, yeah. We're not going to get

[00:27:55] into that here, because I don't want to be in trouble for spoilers. I'm just saying, but I've

[00:28:01] been reading. I have not watched any TV shows, though. I feel like there's actually stuff for

[00:28:05] me to watch right now and I don't have any time, I'm just rewatching. We're in town this weekend,

[00:28:10] when I don't think we were supposed to be, so I do plan on rotting a bit and watching some TV. Be

[00:28:16] good. We've got a lot of stuff coming up. It's still summer, so we still have long days. I do

[00:28:22] look forward to fall, for the fact that it's a blessing and a curse. I like when it gets dark

[00:28:27] a little earlier, it kind of forces me to wind down earlier in the evening than in the summer,

[00:28:31] because in the summer, if the sun's out still, I'm like, I should be outside, I shouldn't be inside.

[00:28:39] So we've got some time to catch up on those things this fall. Yeah, we'll hold you to it this fall.

[00:28:50] This is an interesting little current event, how do y'all feel about the Sunshine Protection Act

[00:28:56] thing that I keep hearing about? How are they going to get rid of daylight saving? Are they

[00:29:00] just going to keep daylight saving, or whichever? I would take the dark in the morning. I would,

[00:29:05] too, over the earlier darkness. Truth. I would, too, for sure. So we like keeping it,

[00:29:12] maybe. What are the downsides to it, I guess, is my question for other people. How will this

[00:29:17] impact seasonal depression? I think positively, I think you could probably make a point. A downside

[00:29:22] would be maybe trying to get kids to school in the dark, kids on the school bus in the morning,

[00:29:29] that could be a downside. But I feel like that happens a lot in the evenings, too, then

[00:29:33] they're dark in the evenings. I'm just trying to think of negatives, if you have negatives,

[00:29:40] let us know in the comments. Let us know in the comments, do we like the daylight thing? Is that

[00:29:45] something that's for real being considered? Yes, it's already passed in the House. Yeah, I think

[00:29:48] I'm pretty much in favor of however it stays light longer in the evening. Yeah, light later in the

[00:29:56] evening would be nice. Yeah, I have to agree with that. Yeah, let us know your thoughts on that.

[00:30:04] I hate to kind of wrap this up, but one thing that did happen this week that I wanted to touch

[00:30:11] on before we end this episode. Unfortunately, with raising horses, with animals of any kind,

[00:30:23] things just happen sometimes. I did get the news this past Wednesday, I got the call like 9:30 at

[00:30:30] night, and I answered it, and I was just like, what, I wonder why Sunny's calling me, which is

[00:30:36] the new owner of Moose, which is one of our foals from this year. And she was just a mess, a wreck,

[00:30:45] apologizing profusely, and I'm like, what is happening? And she told me that Moose had had

[00:30:50] an accident in the pasture, he was literally just playing, and she went into detail,

[00:30:57] she has a whole video where she explained it, and I don't want to really take away from her,

[00:31:02] 'cause he was her horse when this happened, but he just tripped and broke his leg. I don't

[00:31:13] really know how to make sense of it, because, of course, you ask yourself, he was on the flattest,

[00:31:18] nicest pasture literally possible, but it just happens sometimes. So they did take him to a

[00:31:25] vet hospital, they attempted to figure out a way to help him, and it just didn't pan out,

[00:31:30] and so he was humanely euthanized. It's taken a couple days to really process it,

[00:31:38] and I just feel so devastated for his new owners, Sunny and Jamie, they just loved him so, so much,

[00:31:45] and had so much planned for him. And, yes, we loved him here, but we were spared having to

[00:31:55] make any decisions on his behalf in this time. I just could not be more sympathetic to her,

[00:32:02] because I know how that feels, I have literally been in that situation this year,

[00:32:08] bowling season was just rough. So we're just really, really sorry for them at the moment.

[00:32:16] I have seen a little bit in the comments of people being critical, or trying to act like

[00:32:23] it wasn't just a freak accident, and that's when I'll just plainly say, go somewhere else with that

[00:32:29] [ __ ]. That's just not how you can treat people when they are taking care of animals the best they

[00:32:35] can and an accident happens, you just can't. And if you are going to be that negative, please don't

[00:32:41] follow me, and please don't quote-unquote support me, I don't want it. They were fantastic owners to

[00:32:48] him and did right by him, and it's just a tragedy, it really is. So we're going to keep praying for

[00:32:54] them, and we're going to hope that they're able to come to terms and not beat themselves up

[00:32:59] about that. I just wanted to let y'all know what happened with Moose, but we're so thankful that he

[00:33:06] knew only love in his short life. So, got to pray for them, and hopefully things get better. I'm so

[00:33:15] sorry to end this episode on kind of a low note, I just wanted to say a little something, because

[00:33:25] it's a really tricky slope, sharing animals on the internet. I mean, you know this. Yeah,

[00:33:30] it's tricky, when you share everything, and then something bad happens, you're always going to have

[00:33:36] people that have something negative to say, or say that you should have done something differently.

[00:33:43] It's also hard, one of the things was, yesterday she posted about it in the evening, and I hadn't

[00:33:52] even looked at my phone, because I was having dinner, and I looked at it like an hour later,

[00:33:56] so it had been posted for like an hour, and a lot of comments were on my page saying, oh,

[00:34:02] are you not going to address the elephant in the room, and I'm like, first off,

[00:34:07] this is not my horse anymore. Even so, I'm absolutely always going to respect the owners

[00:34:14] that purchase from me and what they want to do. If she had decided not to say anything for a while,

[00:34:19] we wouldn't have said anything, because that's her horse, and that's her decision,

[00:34:22] her decision and her privacy. So, yeah, I just feel for them, I'm supportive of them, and,

[00:34:30] yeah, it's a very sad thing, but just needed to address that, because what we're not going to do

[00:34:35] is be a-holes. So anyway, hope you all enjoyed this episode. Sorry, I didn't want to say that

[00:34:45] at the beginning and have it just be looming over the whole thing. Yeah, that makes sense.

[00:34:52] So anyway, we're going to see y'all next week. This is the dry season, it's the dry season,

[00:35:02] always has been, not a lot's going on. Ah, it's the dry season, we're having Rebecca,

[00:35:14] bottom of the barrel for the dry season. It's that time of year where we're not just keeping up,

[00:35:20] we're trying to come up with ideas of stuff to share with y'all. So if

[00:35:25] there are things you're like, I wanted to see you make this video forever,

[00:35:30] let me know. Well, the sprinting one's coming up, so look forward to that.

[00:35:36] If that's the one y'all want to see, let me know. And stay tuned for next week's episode.
