Speaker:

Welcome to the Peak Revival Podcast.

Speaker:

My name is Vesna.

Speaker:

Today I'm gonna talk about how clarity is currency, particularly in business, right?

Speaker:

So in the previous episode I talked about how mental bandwidth is such an important,

Speaker:

aspect for us as business owners.

Speaker:

And today I'm gonna go a little bit deeper about how mental

Speaker:

clarity is a game changer.

Speaker:

So mental clarity is basically just having a lot less on our minds.

Speaker:

We don't do well when we have a lot on our mind, and quite often we carry a lot.

Speaker:

And I wanna show you the difference of what it looks like to have less

Speaker:

on your mind and the impact that it has on your business and the impact

Speaker:

that it has on your bottom line.

Speaker:

And obviously this translates.

Speaker:

To beyond just business.

Speaker:

This will have an impact in your life, in your community, in your

Speaker:

family, and your relationships.

Speaker:

The more mental clarity we have, the more open we are and, and the better we do.

Speaker:

We just function so much better with mental clarity.

Speaker:

So our mind is, look at it like a problem solving computer.

Speaker:

It does so well to resolve issues.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

And and Maybe, you've had this for yourself, like maybe when it comes to your

Speaker:

kids, like something will come to you one day and think, oh, they've got this issue,

Speaker:

maybe I should get this checked out.

Speaker:

Or maybe in your diet, something comes to you one day and says, like,

Speaker:

in your mind you're like, I don't think that food really agrees with

Speaker:

me, or I should in look at doing this.

Speaker:

This is,

Speaker:

Whatever it is, some diet change or an exercise plan that could be right for you.

Speaker:

Our mind works in this way where it solves our problems, we get ideas,

Speaker:

it helps us to navigate our life and our business.

Speaker:

And it obviously solves bigger issues as well.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

Have you ever noticed that, you know when you're in the shower or you have a long

Speaker:

drive, or you've had a really good night's sleep and you wake up and you're like.

Speaker:

Oh, I know what to do here, right?

Speaker:

I know what to do in my business, or I know what to do in my relationship, right?

Speaker:

So when our mind is not full, it has this capacity and that's its

Speaker:

job along with running our body.

Speaker:

It has this capacity to solve our problems, but not when we

Speaker:

get stuck in negative thinking.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

We get stuck in a lot of stuff that we, we tend to think the same thoughts we

Speaker:

relo the same problems every single day.

Speaker:

And that's not the best way to use our mind, because what ends up

Speaker:

happening is, and our mind works to solve the same problems all the time.

Speaker:

So I'll give you an example.

Speaker:

If you are in a bad relationship that you know is not good for you,

Speaker:

you know, you should get out of it.

Speaker:

and then you are.

Speaker:

Thinking about it constantly, and every day your mind is trying to solve that

Speaker:

problem, and then you wake up the next day and you're still in that situation.

Speaker:

So it's just trying to resolve the same problem.

Speaker:

Your mind is not being used for bigger things because it hasn't

Speaker:

resolved the issue at hand.

Speaker:

Does that make sense?

Speaker:

Like it's going to resolve the biggest issue that you have

Speaker:

and when your mind is free.

Speaker:

There are no issues.

Speaker:

I'm not saying that you're having a perfect life.

Speaker:

but when we don't have so much looping around in our head, our mind goes

Speaker:

to work to do bigger things for us.

Speaker:

So we want to free up our mind to increase our potential.

Speaker:

So Tim Goway, he wrote this book called The Inner Game, and he was a

Speaker:

tennis coach, but then he went into the corporate area and was coaching

Speaker:

people on performance and potential.

Speaker:

And he said Everyone has unlimited potential, Everybody, not just athletes.

Speaker:

And he kind of had this formula where he said,

Speaker:

Our performance is our potential minus interference

Speaker:

right?

Speaker:

So we all have high potential, but there is this interference, which is

Speaker:

blocking it, and it's always the same.

Speaker:

It's the worry.

Speaker:

It's the negative thinking.

Speaker:

It's getting stuck in the loop.

Speaker:

It's the mental noise.

Speaker:

And like he was saying for athletes, you know, if they were going to say like a

Speaker:

basketball player was gonna take a shot if he was staring At the net going, oh

Speaker:

my goodness, I don't think I'm gonna get, or if I don't get this, I'm gonna

Speaker:

be in so much trouble from my sponsors.

Speaker:

I'm gonna lose my sponsorship, whatever.

Speaker:

If those thoughts started to play in their mind, they were

Speaker:

gonna miss the shot, right?

Speaker:

That was interference and block their potential.

Speaker:

And when you think about it, how often.

Speaker:

Are you or I doing this during the day where we are wanting to

Speaker:

do things or we've got things that come up and we have like the worst

Speaker:

case scenario playing in our head.

Speaker:

You know, we've got the what if situations we're catastrophizing it, or it could

Speaker:

just be the constant mental chatter that's in the background that you don't notice

Speaker:

because you're so accustomed to it that is actually blocking your potential.

Speaker:

So when we have nothing on our mind, we are free to do our best, do our best

Speaker:

work, to do our best in the community, in the world, right, to be our best selves,

Speaker:

right when we have nothing on our mind.

Speaker:

And so when we are clear.

Speaker:

And when we have a clear mind, we're available.

Speaker:

Our mind is fully, has full capacity, full availability to

Speaker:

create something new, right?

Speaker:

We get more perspective in our life, and so this is where

Speaker:

we come up with new ideas.

Speaker:

Like when you don't have any problems.

Speaker:

If you are, and this may, you may think like, I've never been in a situation

Speaker:

where I have no problems, but when you have no problems on your mind.

Speaker:

Is what I mean.

Speaker:

You have no problems on your mind, and your mind is really

Speaker:

free and clear in that state.

Speaker:

There is so much goodness because we get a lot of good feelings.

Speaker:

We get a lot of sat satisfaction and fulfillment and uh, joy and

Speaker:

inspiration, and our mind is so free to start creating something new for us.

Speaker:

Something that we never even thought of.

Speaker:

This is where we can get some of our best ideas for business,

Speaker:

how to grow, how to scale.

Speaker:

This is where we can have ideas for our family or for

Speaker:

the community or for the world.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

We have bigger ideas with a freer mind.

Speaker:

So I have my clients do an exercise.

Speaker:

So the more you have an urgent issue, maybe it's even a huge problem in your

Speaker:

business, then I would recommend for you to take a step back and take a full

Speaker:

day where you are not in your business, you're not available on your phone.

Speaker:

You basically only have pen and paper, and you're gonna sit there for the whole day.

Speaker:

Without any distraction and you're going to brainstorm or you're

Speaker:

gonna write things down, or maybe nothing comes out initially.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

And the reason why this works so well is because it allows, it frees up

Speaker:

the mind from its to-do list, from its troubles, from its problems,

Speaker:

from, it just creates so much space because it's a whole day, right?

Speaker:

Create so much space in your mind that in those moments.

Speaker:

That's when you're going to get so much perspective

Speaker:

about what the issue really is.

Speaker:

And how to resolve it.

Speaker:

I also have clients do this when they're kind of at a plateau.

Speaker:

They're like, done really well.

Speaker:

They've had a lot of growth, and they're like, Hmm, I dunno what's next?

Speaker:

And so taking that time again, allowing the mind to be free, taking

Speaker:

you out of your normal environment, allowing you to be free and letting

Speaker:

your mind do what it does, right?

Speaker:

It will help you to come up with creative and big ideas for you to then.

Speaker:

Use to help navigate your life or your business.

Speaker:

So I'd love to know your thoughts on this podcast because this obviously

Speaker:

translates to more than just business because I know for myself

Speaker:

when I am caught up in a problem.

Speaker:

When I'm stuck, I will do that exercise.

Speaker:

I'll take my clients through.

Speaker:

I'll take the day when it's, the bigger the issue, the less time that it feels

Speaker:

like I have, the more I do that because I know that that's the fastest way to

Speaker:

resolve the problem because I know my mind will work it out for me when I'm clear.

Speaker:

And I also know when I've got a lot going on during the day and I feel

Speaker:

overwhelmed that I have to take a step back even though I don't have the time.

Speaker:

Right.

Speaker:

I feel like I just have so many deadlines, but I have to take that step back.

Speaker:

To allow my mental clarity to return because then I, I know that when it

Speaker:

does, when I come back, could be five minutes, could be 10 minutes, could be

Speaker:

30 minutes, could be an hour that when I come back, I'm just gonna be so much

Speaker:

more productive, so much more efficient.

Speaker:

Be working on the right things.

Speaker:

Just have that mental clarity, which will speed up my productivity

Speaker:

okay, and not drain me.

Speaker:

And so if I'm trying to push through with low bandwidth or low mental

Speaker:

clarity, I am going to struggle.

Speaker:

I am going to be really tired.

Speaker:

I'm gonna be really stressed by the end of the day because I've tried to

Speaker:

push through an a place in my mind that it wasn't, it was just an lull.

Speaker:

Right from overwhelmed, from thinking whatever it was, it was in a lull and

Speaker:

it can't push through that, right?

Speaker:

It needs to like kind of, you need to take the the foot off the accelerator,

Speaker:

allow the mind to uncoil and relax, create more capacity and clarity, and then you

Speaker:

can come in and do much better work much faster than what you're doing before.
