Speaker:

This podcast is for you, the Modern Man. I'm Dr Anne Truong,

Speaker:

your host. I'm an intimate health medical doctor and best

Speaker:

selling author of the book, Erectile Dysfunction Fix. I'll

Speaker:

do a deep dive into sexual health and performance and how

Speaker:

it affects men of all ages and backgrounds. So let's get

Speaker:

started, and be sure to visit my website at

Speaker:

sexualhealthformenpodcast.com for more information and

Speaker:

resources from the show. See you on the inside.

Speaker:

Hello there Modern Man. Do you know that your breathing could

Speaker:

be the missing link to your erection? Well, stay tuned to

Speaker:

find out. I want to give you some strategies that you can do

Speaker:

to improve your erection. And this is very, very beneficial if

Speaker:

you think you have psychological ED. But it's also beneficial too

Speaker:

if you have physiological ED. Physiological means, your ED is

Speaker:

from a medical cause. And psychological ED is really more

Speaker:

of psychological stress, a performance anxiety.

Speaker:

So getting an erection involve six systems, and I talk about

Speaker:

that in my Get Hard System, and you can check it out here and

Speaker:

the Get Hard System. And is an interconnection between the

Speaker:

brain, the hormone, the emotion, the nerve, the blood vessels and

Speaker:

the muscle. Breathing patterns and erectile function is a

Speaker:

fascinating intersection of physiology and neural science

Speaker:

that has significant implication for sexual health. This

Speaker:

connection operate through multiple interconnective pathway

Speaker:

involving the autonomic nervous system, which is a system of

Speaker:

fight or flight, which is a stress system, or the

Speaker:

parasympathetic nervous system, which is the rest or digest. But

Speaker:

the parasympathetic nervous system is what's responsible for

Speaker:

erection and nitric oxide production, and stress hormone

Speaker:

and pelvic floor coordination. We're not going to go all over

Speaker:

that at this point. I'm just going to give you this feel is

Speaker:

that breathing can really be helpful for your erection,

Speaker:

because it improves nitric oxide, reduces stress response,

Speaker:

and also it can bring in more blood flow to relaxation and

Speaker:

that you need to tap into the parasympathetic nervous system

Speaker:

for you to get an erection. I spoke about it numerous time

Speaker:

here. Check out this video here.

Speaker:

So there are four different breathing technique that you can

Speaker:

do for erectile enhancement. Let's go over the first one,

Speaker:

called nasal breathing. Now, when you breathe through the

Speaker:

nose, it maximizes nitric oxide, because there's a lot of blood

Speaker:

vessels and nerve that are up here in your nasal passages that

Speaker:

produces the most nitric oxide. So if you breathe through your

Speaker:

nose, you make more nitric oxide, and it also activates the

Speaker:

parasympathetic nervous system, which is the nerve system that

Speaker:

is responsible for erection. Parasympathetic may relax and

Speaker:

digest. Sympathetic means stress or fight. Okay, so you want

Speaker:

sympathetic to be down, parasympathetic to be up. Well,

Speaker:

there's one technique called nasal breathing, which recommend

Speaker:

that you breathe through the nose for four count, hold it for

Speaker:

four counts and exhale into the nose for four to six count. So

Speaker:

this is how you do it. It's almost called like box

Speaker:

breathing, where you breathe in for four counts. Then you exhale

Speaker:

for four count. So that's what I just demonstrated to you.

Speaker:

The next one is called diaphragmatic breathing. This

Speaker:

involves breathing deeply through your abdomen, where your

Speaker:

stomach kind of protrudes out, allowing the diaphragm, the

Speaker:

diaphragm is the muscle that pull down your lungs so that way

Speaker:

your lungs can expand and get more oxygen in. While the

Speaker:

diaphragm muscle, when it goes down your abdominal cavity, will

Speaker:

rise up. And this technique specifically activate the

Speaker:

parasympathetic nervous system, and it also will strengthen your

Speaker:

pelvic floor. Pelvic floor muscles, those are the muscle

Speaker:

that's responsible for the Kegel muscle that you do, that you

Speaker:

strengthen. Because the pelvic muscle responsible for orgasm

Speaker:

and ejaculation. It'll also help with your erection as well. So

Speaker:

how you do is that when you breathe in, you want to puff out

Speaker:

your stomach muscle, and then breathe out through your mouth

Speaker:

slowly. That's called diaphragmatic breathing, and

Speaker:

that's done a lot through yoga breathing.

Speaker:

Okay, Modern Man, you are not alone and you don't have to

Speaker:

suffer anymore. ED can feel isolating, frustrating, and even

Speaker:

defeating. The endless guessing, the quiet shame, the weight of

Speaker:

not feeling like yourself is exhausting. But here's the

Speaker:

truth, you are not broken. You are not alone. You don't have to

Speaker:

figure this out alone anymore. The Get Wood Now Boost Program

Speaker:

is your step by step, path to sexual confidence and

Speaker:

restoration. No more suffering in silence, no more trial and

Speaker:

error, just real solution, real result and the confidence you

Speaker:

deserve. It's time to take back your power on your term. Let's

Speaker:

get this journey started together. Check out the course

Speaker:

at getwoodnow.com. I'll see you there.

Speaker:

The third one is called physiological sigh. Andrew

Speaker:

Huberman talked about this. This technique was developed in a

Speaker:

stand firm, and it involved a double inhalation. When you

Speaker:

breathe in, you breathe in twice, then you breathe out to

Speaker:

your mouth for a long exhale. Research showed that this

Speaker:

pattern of breathing reduces stress and activate the

Speaker:

parasympathetic nervous system. And so how do you do it? It's

Speaker:

like this, you breathe into the nose. So you breathe in a long

Speaker:

breathing, and then let extra breathe, and then slowly exhale.

Speaker:

The fourth one is called the extended exhalation, where when

Speaker:

you exhale or breathe out, longer than when you breathe in

Speaker:

or inhalation. So when you breathe in for four, you exhale

Speaker:

for about six to eight count again, this activate the

Speaker:

parasympathetic nervous system to help with your erection. So

Speaker:

how you do it? You breathe in for four and you breathe out for

Speaker:

a count of a six to eight. Now, this sounds very easy to do, but

Speaker:

it's very, very effective for psychological and stress related

Speaker:

ED, and performance anxiety, and even beneficial for even mild

Speaker:

ED. It also can be benefit for moderate to severe ED as well.

Speaker:

But the severe ED, moderate ED may need more intensive

Speaker:

treatment.

Speaker:

Now, the beauty of breathing exercise and lies in

Speaker:

accessibility and safety. You can do this anywhere, anytime,

Speaker:

no adverse effect. And I recommend that you combine this,

Speaker:

the breathing exercise, with lifestyle modifications such as

Speaker:

a Mediterranean diet, 150 minutes a week of exercise, and

Speaker:

also of course doing your penis pump. So the connection between

Speaker:

breathing and erection represent a powerful example of how

Speaker:

physiology connect with sexual health and the brain. So

Speaker:

research has also shown that if you do this five minutes, five

Speaker:

minutes in a day, whether you choose to do any of the

Speaker:

breathing technique that I had talked about before, which is

Speaker:

nasal breathing, diaphragmatic breathing, a physiological sigh,

Speaker:

or extended exhalation. You should do that for about five

Speaker:

minutes a day, it will actually decrease your stress level,

Speaker:

decrease your heart rate for 24 hours. And so you can do this

Speaker:

like during the afternoon, like when you're at home, or even do

Speaker:

this while you're at work or in the morning. It lasts for 24

Speaker:

hours. You may want to do this before intimacy as well, too,

Speaker:

just five minutes of breathing in slowly and breathing out

Speaker:

slowly. But it is effective for 24 hours. So by understanding

Speaker:

this through proper breathing, you can improve your erectile

Speaker:

function naturally while also improving your health, because

Speaker:

you're decreasing your stress also decreasing your heart rate.

Speaker:

So this is the simplest thing that you can do if you have

Speaker:

performance anxiety. Five minutes a day of breathing will

Speaker:

go a long way, not only improving your erection, but

Speaker:

also your health. And I hope that you do this, because that's

Speaker:

why I'm here, to be the resource for you to deliver information

Speaker:

that you can do at home every day for your sexual function.

Speaker:

Let me know what you think about this, and let me know if you've

Speaker:
