>> Jonathan: You know, it's kind of one of those things where I was tuned in early

on in the season, things were kind of going right for them.

>> RB: Dude. If they could have snuck into a wild card, they could have

went far with the pitching they have.

>> Jonathan: I know. Yeah. But it's just

one of those things, again, where the. I feel like

this is what happens. Maybe the, the late season collapse kind

of takes place.

>> RB: So tell us a little bit about pronghorn.

>> Jonathan: Oh, shit, dude. So a lot to talk about here.

made the trip out west to

Oregon with the boys,

steve peering, Anthony Caruso, Eric Childers, and all

the old boys out there that I'm used to seeing. Hank

Ashworth, Casey, whole nine

yards, everybody. So, I'm not going to

sit here and bash piering because he's not here to

defend himself. But it was hard

to watch there the second day. But, I mean, I definitely

saw glimmers of his game being, a little

more tuned, if you will. I mean,

he wasn't losing any golf balls in the practice round.

The first three matches of the day, other than the

second match, he was out of it. But the first one and the third

match, he was kind of in it. Got some things going, felt

some good vibes. We were three points off the lead going into

the final two matches on Tuesday, and

my man just, he just, he just didn't have it. I mean, we're

talking. Couldn't get off the tee. Nothing

was going right for the guy. And I kind of felt sorry for him just simply

because I know he had high hopes. I know he had high hopes,

but, man, that place just lives in his head

rent free.

>> RB: Is it place or you?

>> Jonathan: It could be. It could be me. And, you know, I'm gonna. We're gonna have a heart

to talk. Hard talk. We kind of joked about it. Everyone's like, oh,

you guys gonna play together next year? I don't know. Going to have a

heart to heart talk and be like, Steve, it might be the best for both of

us.

>> RB: To enjoy the weekend, right?

>> Jonathan: To enjoy it. And we enjoyed it. We enjoyed it. But when

it's time to compete and all that jazz,

it might be best for us to go your own

ways. Might. Maybe. Maybe. But I said to him,

I said, bud, how many pars you have today? And I would tell

him, I just need you to make a par, especially on the

stroke holes. So he says,

five. And I said, steve,

you do not have five pars, bud. And I went through every

hole, and it was not five. I won't say the number, but it was less

than five, greater than one, less than three.

So, needless to say, we didn't get in

the horse race, but adot

and Eric Childers got in on a wild card. They put

up a shit ton of points on day two.

And, you know, that kind of was cool to kind of root them

on a little bit. But none of us, none of us won.

Yeah, it was a good time, though.

>> RB: Well, it's good, man. It looked like you guys had a good time. I mean, it's

always nice to see you guys out there having a blast. I

was in the nemical member. Guest,

which we both have to say thank you to the

playing through boys for the gift.

>> Jonathan: You guys looked like you were having a great time up here.

>> RB: They presented you and I with Betnardi custom

putters, which, I'm putting really well

with it. I kind of wish I wasn't because I want to hang that thing on

the wall, but I'm putting really well with it.

And I know you are, from what I heard. Except the one footer, you

missed.

>> Jonathan: I did. I did. Missed the whole.

>> RB: It was a net only event. So that kind of. We had a

little uphill climb there. but

Cole Taylor made a three for two, on eleven at

Mystic Rock for his skin the last day. So made a little eagle

for a double eagle, made a bomb, which was awesome

to see. He was excited. He jumped up, got six inches

off the ground. It was great.

>> Jonathan: No, the excitement sometimes

adds that little bit of adrenaline rush.

>> RB: Then the playing through boys had Charles Kelly from Lady

Antebellum perform Sunday night, and they knocked it out of the

park. So it was all around a great

time and first class event put on by

Nemicoland. So thank you to them.

>> Jonathan: It looked great, man. I was kind of following along there. Well,

I got to see y'all Friday before I left on Saturday, rolled up there, see the

boys. And I'll tell you, the putter, it just blew me away. Not so

much. The fact that the putter is. Is incredible, but

the thought gesture behind that. You know what I mean?

>> RB: Gibson guitar that I used when I was on tour.

>> Jonathan: I mean, what do we. What did we do to deserve that? So I

did. I took it. I took it to Oregon. I sent y'all a picture. And I was

rolling the rock great. Overall. I rolled the rock ball great.

But that putter, it has a different little feel. I

like it. It was kind of what I was looking for. but no,

it looks like you guys with that. That event Sunday

night, guitars are out.

>> RB: It was a good time. And so now the

big conversations whirling around up here in

the, tri state area. Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania,

is. Pittsburgh Steelers are three and.

>> Jonathan: Oh, they are three and. Oh, man.

>> RB: And, I think you and I went five for

seven, or I went five for seven on.

On Sunday. I don't know. I think you took one more game. I didn't

really like that New Orleans Saints game that you sent.

but I won five or seven, and that was big. Cause Saturday was

brutal.

>> Jonathan: Yeah, no, Sunday was a good day for the boys in that

regard, but also for the Steelers. I mean, the defense

looks dominant. The offense, Fields is doing things that

I thought, you know, maybe he could show,

maybe not. but they're coming to life, man. And it's fun to

watch. Again, I think they said that the defense has

allowed, what, under 30 points

this is the first time since, I don't know,

seventies. They've allowed less than that through three games.

>> RB: well, when Boswell attempted that 64 yarder, I

was thinking about what we talked on the podcast with today's guest,

Christian Coons, long

snapper, how he should get points in fantasy football,

and I felt like that was the right one to that. That would have

been awesome if they made that and he got some points, because that would have

been a bomb.

>> Jonathan: See, that's what I'm saying. I bring that up in a podcast. There should be that

tank, that tango.

>> RB: Yeah, not. Not yet. Well, some

points for the long snapper. Getting it to the. The

holder. Holder. Yeah,

I kind of agree with you, so. And I think Christian kind of liked that,

too.

>> Jonathan: He did. I think he liked a lot of what we had to say.

>> RB: So, with that being said, why don't we roll it over to Christian?

I mean, he's a hometown boy. Went to

Duquesne University, undrafted,

even though I try to get him drafted in the conversation.

but now playing for his hometown team, Pittsburgh Steelers. So

is exactly what we need right now at this point in time, on a

podcast, because we skipped a week.

We skipped our two week mark last week, so this is actually going to be,

you know.

>> RB: Do you want to tell him why, though?

>> Jonathan: Yeah. Well, the reason why we missed the

episode is because my man was in Nashville and we were

supposed to do just a banner session. We always do, just him and I.

And we got on the mics, like we are now on Monday morning,

and he was laying in bed, no shirt, his hair is

everywhere. he's like, I can't even think right now. And we

start to record, and like, 20 minutes into it, I'm like,

dude, go

Nashville.

>> RB: Nashville was the 14 nothing

Nashville that day. I mean, it was insane.

>> Christian Kuntz: Yeah, it was bad. I love

it, man.

>> RB: There's a lot of things for you to congratulate you on. You had a

two, two year contract. You just signed

back with the hometown team. Local boy.

I mean, it's like. It's like the Neil Walker of the Pittsburgh

Steelers.

>> Christian Kuntz: Yeah, I mean, I didn't how many years in Neil Walker play. He

played quite a while.

>> RB: I think he was eight or nine, maybe.

>> Christian Kuntz: Was he? True? He wasn't drafted the Pirates, was he?

>> RB: Yeah.

>> Christian Kuntz: Yeah, yeah. Wow. That's pretty sweet,

but I didn't know that. But, yeah, I mean, I'm. I guess, I don't know, dude. I

don't even, like, realize it. Like, I've told you that when I talked to you

in Joyce's. Like, it's not even. Like,

it doesn't even seem real. And I've said that so many

times. Like, I've said that on my pod. Like, I. It doesn't. It

truly doesn't feel real. I just, like, wake up

and go to go to practice. Like, then I'll come home

and I'll be, like, watching film, and I'll think.

>> RB: What am I doing?

>> Christian Kuntz: Shit. Like, yeah, what am I? Like, what the hell am I

doing? Yeah, I'm, in there.

>> RB: Yeah, it's crazy, but that's the cool thing, too.

How much more fun is it? And I know people don't consider what you

do work. They think it's all fun and games, but they really don't realize it is

work. But you come home every

day from work, and you're happy, and you're excited to go to work.

Like, that's so important in life, no matter what you

do.

>> Christian Kuntz: Yeah, 100%. Like, dude, I'm. I'm not gonna lie.

Like, I'm stressed during the season. Like, I want to play good.

Like, obviously. Like, this is my job. Like, this is our

right. Yeah. Like, so it is kind of. It

is stressful, but, like, to say

I get to play football for a living and, like. Like,

what the hell am m. I. What am I bitching about? You know?

So it's, like, crazy. There's a lot worse

things, for sure. Yeah.

>> RB: But. But that's with anything, right? Like, I mean, I'm

so lucky to work. I work with Brandon, and then I work

with this yo yo right here. This

stuff. I'm very, very lucky and fortunate to do

what I do on both sides of it because I enjoy and I have a blast

doing it. It's not like this podcast bringing us any money.

>> Christian Kuntz: Yeah, but, I mean, maybe this is.

>> Jonathan: The episode, and apparently, with all the jewelry

dog?

>> RB: Well, so, yeah, he, took it. I got pictures the next

day from the security team up in Nemicola. Him walking through hallways,

and he hid it outside behind a bush.

So they were on a search for that for a whole night?

>> Jonathan: Come on, Bart.

>> Christian Kuntz: That's hilarious. That was the best story I've ever

heard. When Brandon told me that.

>> Jonathan: Oh, yeah, I heard some stories about Bart recently

at shard. Tears, too. But we won't get into that right now.

>> Christian Kuntz: belong up to the sharteers, do you?

>> Jonathan: The french club, baby.

>> RB: All right. We got some boys up there. You know Brian John?

>> Christian Kuntz: I don't. I joined in April.

>> Christian Kuntz: I probably seen him on the t sheet.

>> RB: Jared Detwe.

>> Christian Kuntz: Definitely seen that name on the t shirt. I

haven't been up there with the wedding this summer and stuff. I didn't really get a

chance to go up as much as I wanted, so this is the summer where

I'm, like.

>> RB: Kind of the guy that we. We nicknamed Fig Jam.

but also the suit, dude, we got to hear. I

heard that you finally found the David Allen suit

he custom made for you. So tell us a little bit where it went

and what the hell, dude?

>> Christian Kuntz: I don't know. I'm a big sweater. So, like,

we were killing it on the dance floor. I was sweating my ass

off. Like, I brought a couple extra shirts

to change into, so I went. I went to change my extra

shirt because I was sweating, like, through my. Through my

first shirt. So I went to change my shirt, and I took my jacket off,

and I can't remember, like, where exactly I put

it. I think I put it on the back of, like, somebody

else's chair that was, like, in our wedding.

Like, not in the wedding party, but, like, at the wedding.

And, I don't know, it just got misplaced, and, like, no one

found it for, like, three weeks. And then Alexis

Allen, our wedding planner, called us and was like, they

found. They found the suit jacket. Like, I had my pants and stuff,

obviously, but, like. And I had the extra stuff. So I didn't go in

there and put the suit jacket with the extra stuff, the extra shirts that I

had, because I had all that stuff. I just lost the jacket.

She called and said they found it. Like, I think it was,

like, in a closet up there somewhere. Someone, like, hung it up in a closet.

>> RB: It was a responsible thing to do. You just forgot that you did that.

>> Jonathan: I'm sure that was that. Did that jacket have your

name on the inside of it?

>> Christian Kuntz: It has my name. It has our wedding

date. It has a picture of my dog on the inside.

>> Jonathan: Your dog?

>> Christian Kuntz: I have the jacket. It's literally right here.

>> RB: I love that. I mean, it's like a game used, jacket.

>> Christian Kuntz: I know. So I'm like, the jacket's

famous jacket again.

>> Jonathan: You wear that jacket ever or you don't?

>> Christian Kuntz: I mean, it was kind of like my first, you know, I've had, like, a black

suit, but that's, like, my first, like, fitted one.

right?

>> Christian Kuntz: No, no, we don't wear, like, no sweat

outfits.

>> RB: Yeah, this isn't like the university.

>> Jonathan: I see the boys posting photos. They look like they're hanging out for

a Gucci mag photo shoot.

>> Christian Kuntz: Yeah, that's m. I wear the

bull sweats, dude. Yeah. Like, I

mean, I. When I'm traveling, like, I want to be comfortable,

but the new David Allen suit would be comfortable

sometimes.

>> Jonathan: What's my boy Zach Frazier traveling?

>> Christian Kuntz: I think he's a bull sweats guy. I think he's in the

sweatsuit. A lot of guys wear the sweats.

>> RB: So fast, rewind back to when

you played college football at the Duquesne

University. Go, Dukes. thank you. Then

you got drafted by Denver, and

you signed your first contract, or.

>> Jonathan: What's wrong, Pat?

>> Christian Kuntz: I didn't get drafted I didn't get drafted. yeah, I

wish I got drafted.

>> RB: Can we just roll with this?

>> Jonathan: Well, that would be false.

>> Christian Kuntz: We could have just rolled with it. I should have just

said, yeah. Yeah. I should have took the

traffic. I was undrafted free agent. New England, Denver,

Jacksonville, all that stuff.

>> RB: Okay, so you

celebrate. So you sign your first contract with

the Pittsburgh Steelers, and you celebrate by playing around with

golf. You want to tell me a few things that

happened there? I've been digging a little bit, my

man.

>> Christian Kuntz: I mean, we were definitely.

>> RB: You were celebrating?

>> Christian Kuntz: Yeah, we had a couple drinks on the course. yeah, it was the

offseason. my buddy was.

We were actually on 18. We were behaved the

whole round, and we behaved the whole round. Like,

this isn't even that bad, but one.

Whoever I was driving with, I can't even remember. Forgot a

club on the last hole. We were on 17 going 18,

so we were playing in Neville woods. You cross

the road to get to 18. And, my

partner went back, so I just hopped on the back of, like, their

cart. Like, there's already two people in the cart. So I just,

like, got my club and just, like, hopped on the back of the

cart. And we're crossing the road, and we get

across the road, you have to go up, like, this little hill.

And you know how, like, the cart, like, catches?

>> RB: Yeah.

>> Christian Kuntz: It's, like, skidding, and then it just catches and goes. So I'm like, on

the back, and he's going up the hill, and we've been.

We were drinking, obviously, like, we had a couple. Couple drinks,

and he just. The cart

catches and he tail whips it.

I fly off the cart. Like, I just signed.

Like, I was like, oh, my God. Like, this is.

Yeah, this is. This is dumb. And, like, thankfully, like,

I fell in the grass. There was fescue

there. High fescue. I fell in the high fescue.

It was all good, but, yeah, we,

right. And, like, if you ever played Neville.

>> RB: Yeah.

>> Christian Kuntz: Everybody waits for you on 18. Like, you could see everybody. It

was like, around that corner. I don't know if they could see, but

they probably heard the cart screech and, like,

looked out. I was laying in the fescue.

>> RB: That's amazing.

>> Jonathan: Funny, man.

>> RB: I was getting all kinds of info today and tell.

>> Christian Kuntz: How'd you get that?

>> RB: I can't tell you. I got one more that we'll bring up, too.

But, I mean, other than the rain guard missing from the golf

cart, Neverwood's been looking for that.

>> Jonathan: So peps got sources,

dude. Christian, I'll tell you.

>> Christian Kuntz: Ripped off, too.

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Uh-huh.

>> Christian Kuntz: Contacting me.

>> Jonathan: Well, these guys last week, they're at

Nemicolon. Pep and I was in Oregon for a

golf event, but pep's up to Nemico with a bunch of the country

guys, and they take this photo on this piece of

art, and I'm like. I thought

to myself when I saw that on instagram, I'm like, what in

the hell were you guys thinking?

>> RB: But it's art on a level. Mystic, you know, to the

left, the frame.

>> Christian Kuntz: Yeah, yeah, yeah.

>> RB: Well, I don't think six people were supposed to sit on that thing, but

we did.

>> Jonathan: No.

>> Christian Kuntz: Aren't they a sponsor of the show?

>> RB: Yeah, it's all right. It's fine. Everything's fine. Everything's

replaceable up there. That's fine.

>> Jonathan: Oh, yeah, sure.

>> Christian Kuntz: It's just a christian coons podcast, man. I got m

my two friends, Vinnie and Trey. they work for one

team media, and, you know, they kind of. We kind

of just yuck it up. Kind of just. We kind of just jumped

into it, dude. Like, we didn't really. We met on it. We

talked a couple times, and then, like, we were like, fuck

it. Let's just do it. Yeah, we

just. We did it. It's been fun, dude. I kind of. I like it. I

like getting in the guests and, like, being able to talk to the guests

and let. Ask the guest questions, find out about the

guests, and. Yes, like, it's just cool.

>> Jonathan: Yeah, no, it is. And honestly, people don't realize this,

but having a podcast, especially one

that's regular, whether

it's by monthly or

it. It takes a, There's a little aspect of work that it

takes to get it going

100%.

>> Christian Kuntz: It's not. It's a lot of work, and it's, you know,

people. I I'm in, like, a studio,

too, so, like, we do a studio. Like, we have the

calling guests, but, like, the camera and, like,

talking to a camera through people. Like, it's

not easy to do. No, I think it's just, like, easy to

get out and just act. you know, but it's not easy to get into, like, a

mic and talk or in front of the cameras talk.

>> RB: Yeah, it's very different. It's very different. It takes

you a couple times even, like, for yourself. You have a great

personality, and you're hilarious and you're outgoing, but still. Did you put

that mic where you're like, okay, what are we gonna talk about today?

>> Christian Kuntz: Well, yeah, yeah.

>> RB: Start searching for things, right? Yeah. True. yeah,

from our friends, like, what you're doing now. And it's

like, I had him drafted and he wanted to. He wanted to take the pick

away.

>> Christian Kuntz: Yeah, that was bad. I should just let that roll.

>> Jonathan: But, yeah, if you're in person with someone, when we do. When we

get the opportunity to do interviews in person,

you just feel that energy a little bit more. You kind of like, you know,

you don't even feel like you're recording anything, but whenever you're doing

it like this, you know, I'm looking at you, you're looking at me. We're looking at him.

Who's talking now? What's going on? It's like. But

it. You know what? It works, though. I

don't mind it. yeah, so.

But that's cool. I was the, the

Kelsey brothers made out with their podcast, but.

>> Christian Kuntz: Oh, my goodness. I mean, they

sell for a hundred.

>> RB: Million, or that's what it was, 100 million.

>> Jonathan: But, yeah, podcasting could be good. Yeah, that's a

moral story.

>> Christian Kuntz: It's. Yeah, that's more of the story. But it is fun. It's

fun. It's a nice little hobby, but

hopefully.

>> RB: Yeah, it is fun. And,

cold tub every day. sauna, cold

>> Jonathan: Yeah. Well, back then, maybe not, but nowadays,

absolutely, yeah. Golf's

cool. Everybody knows it.

>> RB: Everybody's digging on golf right now. It's insane.

>> Christian Kuntz: Yeah, Covid, like, sparked, resparked

golf.

>> RB: Made it fun, made it cool, made it to.

>> Christian Kuntz: Things always been cool.

>> RB: Yeah. I'm not saying, but I'm saying it got

so big.

>> Christian Kuntz: Oh, yeah, yeah, you're right.

>> RB: Like, we put our time in to be, like,

we have the right to be there before you. Yo yo's right.

During COVID They just came out of the woodwork

100%. And now all of a sudden, we're all big

golfers. No, not in this. Not in this

lifetime.

>> Jonathan: I played this golf course I had never played.

It's not too far from here in Cheat Lake. It's up in Deep Creek,

Maryland, and it's at the

Wisp. It's called lodestone, which you've probably heard of it, I think,

how Irwin designed it back in the day. But any rate,

so I went up there, a couple weeks ago with a couple buddies

of mine, and again, I just. I never played it,

but I got invited to go. So, I'm open to it. And

I got to tell you something. That course

is beautifully designed. Like, the layout is

absolutely gorgeous. The way it's cut through the mountains, you kind of

get views of the lake. If

somebody had like six

to $8 million, maybe call it

ten Max, just to throw it into that

course, that course would be

incredible. It was. Conditioning

wise, it was awful. It was

awful.

>> Christian Kuntz: What. What's your. What's your top courses

in, like, Pittsburgh? Laurel.

Do you like Laurel?

>> Jonathan: Me personally, I mean, I really. I do like

Laurel. Absolutely. I really like Laura. But

fox chapel, I just. And maybe cuz I played it a decent

amount, but I really like Fox chapel. I got to really start

liking Allegheny recently.

>> Christian Kuntz: I played Allegheny once, but.

>> Jonathan: So those two courses, I. You know, and Oakmont's obviously

great, but Oakmont's one of those courses where.

I don't know, man. It's. It's. It's a phenomenal golf course, but

I enjoy playing Fox chapel more.

>> Jonathan: Yeah, Oakmont's very difficult. Have you ever played down.

Ah, Pikewood. See, I'm in Morgantown. That's where I live.

>> Christian Kuntz: I haven't played in Pikewood yet. I talked to Brandon

about it. I just haven't had. I was

playing with the wedding this summer. Next summer is gonna be my.

It's gonna be my year.

>> Jonathan: Okay.

>> RB: Yeah.

>> Christian Kuntz: My golf year. Yeah, for sure.

>> RB: Good, good. You deserve it.

You deserve a golf summer, a gulf summer.

>> Christian Kuntz: After this, after the Super bowl, that's right.

>> Jonathan: After you get that ring, let's go.

>> RB: So like, yeah, let's discuss

that. You went a Super bowl. What's, what's the plan,

dad? What's the party like?

Where are we going? Where are we going?

>> Christian Kuntz: I don't know. The party will be

wild.

I mean, I remember when we did, we went

0705.

I remember seeing, you know, those streets and the parking

garages slam packed with people fucking hanging

from railings, everything. It was great.

>> RB: I went to Station square and

just boozed. I was

too young, according to law, but

I was too young. So I mean, like, yeah,

I mean, dude, there's so which your, what's your

watering hole that you go to around here? Like when you and your

buddies from high school go out, where are you

gonna have a couple beers?

>> Christian Kuntz: I don't know. Because I live in a strip. I'm probably going to like

Cooper. I don't know,

somewhere downtown.

>> Christian Kuntz: Try to stay away from the south side. I want to

go to the south side. Walters. I like Walters in

Lawrenceville.

>> RB: Southside just isn't the same. Huh? Huh?

>> Christian Kuntz: No, south side's no. I lived there for

three years in college.

>> RB: That's sad.

>> Christian Kuntz: It just went downhill.

>> RB: Yeah, it's Sadhesthe. I mean, I used to, I

used to love going down there. But I will go down there for a little Carson street

deli sandwich.

>> Christian Kuntz: Oh, I could do that. Oh, Carson street deli,

>> RB: That. And Nacom is not even the same anymore

to me.

in, you know, used a lot this year. I

mean, the first two games, that's all we did was kick field.

know, not only are they, am I a loyal mountaineers

the men's golf team at

Nemicolan, where WVU's hosting their fall

tournament. We got Penn State coming in. We got some other teams coming

in.

>> Jonathan: so it's gonna be fun. And you and I will be posted
