Welcome back to The Real As Players podcast. I'm Chris. I'm cool, Alex Junior. Today we'll be discussing. Underground, I guess. Yeah, March Madness is coming up and people usually do brackets around that time. Oh, thank you. Thank you, thank you. I know, right. Anyways, March Madness is coming up and people usually do brackets around this time, so we put together a list of the 16, say most well known artists in underground. So first we got Osama son. Going up against Apollo Red then 1:00 AM against Slayer nine against Protect Slayer Z against laser Che against Skate Star Prada against Rex V two, net against OS Santa and then Glock against Pretty. Alright, so how are we gonna discuss it? Alright, so we had it, listed seeds are matched. One to 16, eight to nine, four to 13. Like you would regularly do a seed. First round, we got a Psalm center in Apollo. What are your guys' thoughts on that Psalm on, yeah, a psalm outside, bro. What do you think Apollo would have to do to get above a Psalm of son? Do you think it's possible for him ever? Unlike every other, nah, I don't know. I was gonna say, unlike every other OBM artist, just do some stuff by himself before he is fully endorsed his opium. And he's just blown up automatic. He's Carter's cousin too. Yeah, stuff like that. It's, it's the's the, he's kind of just like gaining popularity right now 'cause Yeah, he is affiliated with like those type of people, but yeah. How long can he stick it out? How long can he stick it out as a, I think he just has to actually drop some, actual projects though. Like with some good features too, but I don't know, we just still have yet to see it. So obviously Osan, he's been like, just Album after album has been like, good. So besides that, it's just I don't know, I think it's a clear answer. Alright, so we got Osama son moving on past the first round. Pastor Apollo. Next step, we have one. Am Ian Slayer. Slayer, it's my goat. He just perfect. That's a rapper we definitely gotta talk about though. 'cause it's I don't know. Especially recently. 'cause like he kinda was like, he wasn't like on at all before this year or last year. But I mean, y'all know, I forget. Cole, did you listen to him like back when he was younger? 'cause he's been doing this for a minute. I, I heard like a song of his, but. Yeah, you got, I just remember, I just remember the dis forgot dis for existing even Fat. But yeah, for Slayer obviously. I mean like his most recent album, he's just yeah, I mean that's, Chris said he's just but do you think that out? Does everything one AM's ever done? I mean, yeah. I personally don't even list the 1:00 AM I'm not even gonna hold you. 1:00 AM has a very specific vibe to it, to where like you can only really listen to him at I don't know, he's just like melodic and headphone music. You think he he music? Yeah. Yeah, definitely. Because like I saw, will you describe music? I saw video. What is it? I don't know. Like you think you, you not gonna yeah. You think 1:00 AM gonna bring a room up. I don't know. I feel like I could personally play him, but I see why people think he'd be, he fo music. I, I understand that perspective. I mean, there was like concerts and stuff that he, or he was just on tour, but like the, I don't know. They were kind of like all the videos just seemed like dead besides I don't know anything else but. Kinda a j Cole type concert, bro. Alright, so we got Slayer moving on above 1:00 AM That's our first, upset. We had 1:00 AM seated slightly over, Slayer, but we got Slayer moving on, so it's gonna be in the next genres son and Slayer. But for now we got nine. Vicious versus Protect. To be honest, that could be debatable, but. I don't know. I feel like it's just like kind of obvious that non vicious would take that. Yeah. Protect hasn't like also protect kind of like for me, like he hasn't really dropped anything like too crazy recently. Yeah. I don't know. Yeah, I feel like I don't find myself listening even when he has dropped stuff like in the past couple years, like I don't really find myself like going back and listening to it over and over, there's just like a handful of songs I really like for him that really shaped my view of him, but with not, and I feel like I can go through his whole discography. Yeah, he also kind of just blew up way later than not obviously, but yeah, I don't know. He is just too a new of an artist to really compete with someone who made music since like 20, 23 and stuff. Yeah. So we're gonna have n move on. Yeah. Alright, next we got Xavier versus Laser. Noom. This one Easy Z, bro. Yeah, we know your answer bro. I gonna say bro, I dunno about that. I dunno. It's difficult. Um, I mean, I just can't, like, I don't know about y'all. I just can't really take laser's music that serious. Yeah, I was gonna say Z's like an artist. I mean it's like versatile. It's held in. Shit. Beautiful shit. Beautiful. Yeah. But personally I don't know how to gauge that 'cause I don't know what to base it off of. What should I, I mean like, would you rather listen to Xavier Bristol based for the rest of your life or base it off for the rest of your life? Neither, bro. Save, bro. Save. Definitely. Save, save. Save. I mean, yeah, I, I'd do za to be honest, but not like, I don't know, I think laser's just like, he doesn't really do, like when he goes in the stew, he just like, I don't know. You, you, you've seen like videos. He'd just like be like high as hell, just not thinking of what he's saying. Just like yapping. And that's my cup. I got a drink before my cup. I got no drink. Yeah. Like he just really doesn't like a lot of his projects too is just like quantity over quality. So do you think if laser put like the effort that Xavier did and like tried to trim things down and like actually make a well cro, I don't think you think he'd be better, do you think? I don't think he'd be better, but I think he'd for sure be up there with other rappers. But I don't know. It is just, he hasn't really yet progressed work for him though. If he really like, if he really changes up his style, I think it could definitely work. 'cause Zay has definitely done that. But I don't know, laser just kind of like, I mean, you'll listen to his music nowadays. It's just the same stuff of what he made three years ago, basically. I think you gotta get better beats selection. Yeah, definitely. I think Xavier B selection is, is like also like iffy, but I feel like that's why I like, it's I mean like for me, I I mean like at least for Mainstream beats like, or not mainstream, but like the traditional beats that you see usually like he steps outside of that. And I feel like that plays to Advant his advantage sometimes. But I feel like when laser does it, it's just kind of like when he steps outside, it's like to go into some type of trend or like to hop on. Like something that like he thinks would go viral. Not 'cause he's doing it. 'cause he wants to be different. Wants to try something else. Yeah, exactly. Alright, next up we got Shaver skater. I feel like this one easy. Yeah, I mean that was kind of a weird match up 'cause it's just like, I know there's not like, I mean as much as like music that's coming out there is like not really like I feel like an established, like I feel like there's definitely like once you get below like, I dunno, I feel like the 10th spot, like it's just kind of like you could fill in anybody. Yeah. In a group of 50 there. Yeah. Obviously gonna be cherry. Yeah, Chad, definitely. That's just personally one of. So it's kind of biased, damn personally one of my favorite artists right now. But that's kind of biased, Shay. Definitely. Alright, next one. This one's gonna be tough. I feel like we're like a little harder than the last couple one. Uh, Prada versus Rev. Rex. Or Rex, sorry. Uh, auto Crick fucked that up, I think, or, yeah, that is difficult 'cause. They kind of have similar styles. Like, I don't know, they rap kind of similar, but it's still like, is d more difficult? Because like Rex had a really good album that just came out, but also probably is just like, he's had a lot of like a good like, um, lineup of projects. He's dropped. Yeah, I feel like it's kind of like, I feel like for Prada he leans more into like, kind of like the like older, kind of like more like 20 19, 20 20 aero sound cloud, where it's like a lot more like melodic where like rev taps more into like the rage and like the kind of like new gen type sound, I feel like. But they have like similar like capabilities, if that makes sense. Yeah. Like in in flow and structure. Exactly. Personally, I'm gonna take Rex over, um, Prada. Oh, oh. I just think he has a, I'm basing this off of projects 'cause to be honest, his, like his latest stuff just had zero misses. Yeah, bro. Prprobably got some crazy unreleased though. Oh yeah. I myself don't, yeah, I don't know. That's still a really hard, I feel like, I feel like, I feel like if the next time Prada drop, the next time Rick's drop and Rick's is better, I feel like he could have to, like, Rick's definitely has like high potential to surpass him. 'cause I don't know, I feel like proud to be dropping, like a lot of like songs, like a, when he drops, he drops like larger projects. I feel like there's usually like a couple mixes on his album. But, but think about like the potential that Yeah, that's what I'm saying. If Rick drops two more albums that are the quality of he. Of the ones he's previously dropped, I feel like he'd definitely be next up. I'm gonna say prouder for now for me though. But I feel like if we give it, like if we talked about this next year, I feel like we're, there's a high chance that we'll be saying that Rex is over him. I'm gonna say I personally like, I like prouder more, but I think Rex is, Rex would take the spot on bracket because. His music, like he has his, they're both, that's the thing. They're both in their own lane, like protest, like you said, melodic. And he's a different melodic type rapper. It's not just generic melodic rapping. And then Rex, he can go melodic. He's versatile with it. He can go melodic, he can do straight rap. But I don't know. It's more of a thing where it's like it's more polished, it's more his mixing and mastery is more on point. Like I feel like Prada has that. It's an Atlanta thing too. You gotta think about that. Like laser. All these people is, is they're using what they can and when they get to a point of fame and then they have opportunities to actually have better equipment, better sounding music, they're just gonna stick to what they know until they get outta that mindset of, yeah, exactly. But Rex. Rx didn't get hit by a trip, a light scooter. So like, alright, y'all gonna go? Alright, we're gonna have Rx move on and then next we got net. Rishan net. Yeah, I feel like net, net net's not gonna make it farther though. I gotta loose tomorrow. Santa. Just thought about that. Yeah, I feel like Colmore taps in with something else. Oh, Sansa just like I, I kinda like him just 'cause he is like. I think he's younger than me, but he's just like, he's really talented for his age and that's why I kind of just like respect him as an artist. But like, yeah, Ned has probably just been on like more of a like Osama son, like Che level right now. Mm-hmm. Especially since he's like gonna drop like a crazy album tonight and he's been blown up for two years. Yeah. And also he is just like, I feel like he kind of like, he's. Unique in a way that he doesn't really like, he doesn't listen to hate like that and he kind of just like stays himself especially 'cause like he just like gets hated on 'cause he is just white in like a underground, um, scene with a lot of like black artists. He's just like overlooked as an artist basically. And just, yeah, rated. So yeah, that I said that already, but I think because. This is more of a biased opinion. Again, this's just an artist I listen to genuinely who just tops a lot of underground artists. Actually, I don't know. He's just, he's a good artist. I don't know what else to say. That's what, I don't know. Yeah, I just like, it's just like Loki was just like not even a, like a fair match. It's kinda artist talking about him because of like the, his career is so unbalanced already. Like he's already taken a break of a year plus. Yeah. It's crazy. Yeah. Well, that's about to end tonight. So we got net moving on, and then the final, uh, for the first round we got Glock verse. Pretty fun. I'll do like Glock. Glock, Glock. Yeah, I know. He's just, just like, I don't know. I'd say out of every artist that's been on this list so far, Glock's been like the pioneer of a lot of like sound that's been made right now. And he's just like, especially like, I don't know, a hard sound. No Glock, no laser. Mm-hmm. Yeah. Like, yeah. Especially with like production wise, like he was doing a lot of crazy beats and like, like innovating, actually. Innovating got range. Exactly. Yeah. And you can actually hop on like really just like melodic, more chill beats. Like I've, I've probably on Cody dream's, like top three for me, bro. He can, yeah. And then you can be on like, just like insane or like, I mean like bad man. That's just like a beat that's like really like. It sounds like a space type beat, but then he's like going crazy too. So that's why I like him. Yeah. And I feel like he makes things like, I feel like his flow, he's able to like fit in so much that he can like, make simple beats, like feel really complex. Yeah. Like if you really break down like a couple, like, like not like a lot of beats are very complex, but like there's a couple of beats that are really just like, it is not that, it's not much going on and I feel like he just like fills it up completely. He doesn't feel like leave any air in the song. Like there's not a moment where I'm like, what's next? I'm just like, okay, go. Thanks. So I got Glock over pretty too. Alright, we got the first, one of the next round we got OS Son versus Slayer. Yeah, I know that's going just break Chris's brain. Yeah. But like I know the answer already. What is your Razor O Psalm song? Nossal song? I can't, I can't not say Osm song. Yeah. Actually, actually, no, no, no. Screw that. I got the right to say slayer. I've been listening to him for years now, actually, I guess. Not that it matters or anything, but yeah. Not that it matters, but like, make your case. Make your case. Like why, what, not, not not only s to make your case that slayer, but like what, what do you like about him? Um, originality. It's literally originality. That's the first piece of like that project bro have blood's, like the first piece of music I've listened to. And literally since Utopia. Since utopia, like, like, mm-hmm. That's, yeah. No, not utopia, bro. I don't even know, to be honest with you, like it is been just a minute since I've heard something that just sounds actually really original. It's kind of like indescribable to a point, like that's how good his music is to me. I don't know. A lot of it resonates with me. So, yeah, I, I get that too. And I feel like it's another thing where it's like you can't really fault them for skill. It's really just time. And these people have been around longer or not, not necessarily been around, but been pop longer and also like had the opportunities to make higher quality music for a longer amount of time too, and had eyes on them. Next we got nine and z. Y'all know my vote. Xavier, we got more range. Does Xavier outta better discography? Xavier got better flow. I don't know. Xavier's better in every category. I za because Xavier, bro. I fucking Xavier. Yeah, Xavier's tough. Like compared to nine. I'm not gonna lie. If we not like, not like nine's bad, but like, bro, like we talked about, it's nine is stuck in a, he's stuck in a something. I don't know what he's stuck in, but he's just like, he's like, there's a box there that I see at least, I don't know that my ears hear. I don't know. He just. Doesn't get outta that box. Alright. So for me, I'd say alright, nine has better production. I'm gonna just say that, but lyricism wise, ZA is better at that. I just feel like Za hasn't really, like production wise, he has really good production. Production. It's just not like, so like, like nine's mixing just sounds like so clean and like, especially just like It's a lot more consistent too. Yeah. Like project wise, there definitely has been like projects where like Save has like a couple misses and stuff, but like, I don't know, whenever I listen to nine it's just like I can at least like see something in each song he's doing 'cause he just like, I don't know, kinda be yapping sometimes, but it's still like, the beats are just so good. That's how I feel about Xavier. Uh, so yeah, we got Xavier and. Over him over nine. Next we got, uh, Chey against, uh, Rex. Che. Yeah, Jay, maybe there's no question about it. Future pioneer. Yeah. Next we got, uh, net, Glock, Glock, Glock. Yeah. Glock. Yeah, Glock. I feel like if Ned drops something crazy tonight, then I'd probably put him over Glock maybe. Yeah, that's, yeah, exactly. But Glock's last album was so good too. I don't know. That's the crazy, that's a hard one. But we'll see for now, Glock. Alright, next we got, so that'd be, it'd be Os Sons Against Dave. Yeah. Osama Sum Against Save, bro. Osm Sum easier. I'm gonna say Xavier, Rowan on that one. Um, alright, so technically, yeah, I didn't get like appreciation, but like Osama, it's definitely close. It's close like just like as artist wise, but like yeah, it's in the same thing if once Xavier gets the opportunity, he's only been signed for one album. Osan had a, what? This is second or third. Which one? Or studio? I know he said album, but which studio albums, how long has he even signed for? Doesn't matter. He's even signed. He's, yeah, he's definitely signed. He's had studio albums. I'd say he's, I'd say he's like, had more opportunity than, but yeah, os moves on over him. And then we got Jay Glock. Yeah. Uh, cha Chache. Alright. Cha Oon, the final debate. Who's better? Is it the one Tennessee? Literally, I'm pretty sure. Yeah. Went in tux seat. No upset here. Who are you putting? It's difficult. Um, mean, I think, I think you're gonna say Jay, to be honest. Yeah, yeah, of course. Yeah, of course. I'm gonna say, Justin, why were you thinking that? You gonna say, yo, I gotta say Os song. I can't, like, not. At this point, so it's up to you. Just say you're so based. Alright, thank you guys for watching you. Guys for listening. Alright, you guys decide. See you next one. Peace.
