Speaker AWe're back in the groove.
Speaker AWorld Championships is over.
Speaker AWe're back competing.
Speaker AI got a tournament I'm going to this weekend.
Speaker AAre you heading to a tournament this weekend?
Speaker ALet us know.
Speaker AShoot us a message.
Speaker AWe'd love to hear from you.
Speaker AWe are really enjoying hearing from these athletes of the week, but we've got other stuff going on too.
Speaker AI don't want you to miss out on one the Ambassador corner.
Speaker AMake sure you're checking this thing out on Instagram.
Speaker AIt's really cool.
Speaker AGood tips, all kinds of neat things.
Speaker ACheck out the all the new ambassadors.
Speaker AWe had one interviewed last week.
Speaker ABut here after our athlete interview, I want to go over a really awesome thing, a really awesome benefit you get if you are an official ATA legacy student.
Speaker AThis is fantastic.
Speaker AI love it.
Speaker ASuper excited about it.
Speaker AMake sure you do not miss it.
Speaker AIt's going to be after the interview.
Speaker ALet's get to that interview right now.
Speaker AATA Nation, we're back with another great set of athletes of the week.
Speaker ALadies, I assume you guys are related.
Speaker ACan you introduce yourselves and tell us where you're from?
Speaker BMy name is Talia Walk.
Speaker CMy name is Scarlet Walk.
Speaker CAnd yes, we're related.
Speaker CWe're actually twins.
Speaker BWe don't look like twins.
Speaker CYeah, we're fraternal, so we don't look that much alike.
Speaker BWe're both 13 years old and we are from Elite360 Studios in Trinity, Florida.
Speaker AOh, you guys have a new ambassador from your school, right?
Speaker BYes, Ms. Constantine.
Speaker AYes, yes, I've met Ms. Constantine.
Speaker AVery cool.
Speaker AAnd your guys's school, I was thinking at the awards gala that they won an award this year.
Speaker AI can't remember what that, I can't remember what it was.
Speaker BBut yeah, we left early, but yeah.
Speaker AI, I, yeah, it was, it was Saturday night.
Speaker AElite 362.
Speaker AThey did.
Speaker AI can't remember what it is.
Speaker AMaybe I'll, we'll look in and see if we can stick it in some of the notes another time.
Speaker ABut you guys just came back from World Championships.
Speaker AHow did Worlds go for you?
Speaker BIt was a really, really fun experience competing wise.
Speaker BIt was so much fun, like seeing all my competitors and I got second place in creative forms and two world titles in creative form.
Speaker BI mean, no not creative form.
Speaker BCreative weapons and extreme forms.
Speaker ACongratulations.
Speaker CReally well.
Speaker CSo I'm like, I'm really proud of myself because I performed really well.
Speaker CI didn't place in anything, but I qualified.
Speaker ASo hey, I, I think it's important for athletes to realize that, you know, you're not going to place every year.
Speaker AI mean, there are those people who place every year.
Speaker AI don't, those guys are just crazy.
Speaker AI talked to a friend of mine, he's been in taekwondo for 30 years.
Speaker AHe got his first title this year.
Speaker ALike, come on, if you can keep doing it for 30 years, that's, that's impressive.
Speaker ASo I forgot to ask, what rank are you ladies?
Speaker BWe're both second degree black belts.
Speaker AVery cool.
Speaker ASo you're in the second third degree division.
Speaker AAnd what age group?
Speaker B11 12, but we're moving up to 13, 14 now.
Speaker AOh, so the Super Deployment.
Speaker AYou guys compete in the Super 20 this year?
Speaker BNo, we did not compete in the Super 20.
Speaker ACame home early, got, got done and had to come back.
Speaker AWell, you got that, that red shirt and stuff.
Speaker ASo.
Speaker AYeah, what you said.
Speaker AYou guys, what's your favorite event?
Speaker AIf you had to pick like, this is the event that I cannot live without, what event would that be?
Speaker BFor me it would be Extreme Forms.
Speaker CThat's probably also mine.
Speaker BYeah, I love doing flips in my form and showing off.
Speaker AVery cool.
Speaker AWhat about if you had to pick a least favorite event, what would it be?
Speaker BActually I haven't competed in this event for a long time, so for me it would be sparring.
Speaker BBecause when we started like taking Creative extreme more seriously, we were like, okay, before Worlds we don't want to get injured.
Speaker BSo we stopped doing sparring for like a year and now I'm like coming back to sparring.
Speaker BIt's hard because like everyone is like, has been practicing and we haven't.
Speaker BSo it's hard.
Speaker AAh, that's rough.
Speaker CI would do sparring at local tournaments, not like the big ones because I don't want to get injured.
Speaker CBut that's also my least favorite.
Speaker AYeah.
Speaker AWhat about.
Speaker AYou guys do combat or neither of those?
Speaker CI do combat, yeah, often, but not that much.
Speaker BYeah, not that much.
Speaker AIt's a little easier to not get injured in that.
Speaker AWhat about, I heard you guys say you were doing some creative weapons, things like that.
Speaker AWhat weapon is your like go to weapon?
Speaker BFor me it would, I do the double swords.
Speaker BSo the swords, they stick together and they're magnetic so you take them apart mid form.
Speaker AOh, that's super cool.
Speaker CI do commas, I guess we both like our magnetic stuff.
Speaker AYou got the magnetic commas, then that stick together too.
Speaker AOh, that's very cool.
Speaker AOh, super.
Speaker AAwesome.
Speaker AI love that.
Speaker AWhat kind of.
Speaker ASo we've just started a new year.
Speaker AYou guys finish off the last year really strong.
Speaker ALooks like you did amazing.
Speaker AGo into a new division.
Speaker AWhat kind of goals do you have for the new year?
Speaker AIt doesn't even have to be tournament goals if you have other kind of goals, but what kind of goals do you have as you're looking towards the future?
Speaker BSo we're not really going to be focusing on competing like for world titles anymore, for more.
Speaker BWe're both actors, so that's more of our focus now is like getting our acting strong because it was mostly like martial arts is like, like world champion looks good on the resume, right?
Speaker AOh, yeah, yeah.
Speaker AThat's not too shabby for me.
Speaker CI just kind of enjoy the performing part.
Speaker CI'll probably still go to local tournaments and perform there.
Speaker CYeah, just for like, you know, showing off.
Speaker COh, I'm an actor.
Speaker CI'm.
Speaker CAnd a martial artist.
Speaker CLike, I combine them.
Speaker BIt's not, it's not more about the placing, it's more about, like your performance and interacting with the audience, getting them, like to clap and cheer for you, you know, More of that.
Speaker AYeah, that's like totally practice for, you know, the, your, your goals.
Speaker ASounds like you're working on that whole acting, that performing part.
Speaker ASo just getting the reps in of doing extreme and creative kind of things is just more practice doing performance that way.
Speaker ASo that's.
Speaker BYeah, exactly.
Speaker AWhat kind of have you guys done?
Speaker AWhat kind of acting things are you guys trying to get into more like.
Speaker BLike, for film and like movies.
Speaker BWe're working up to that.
Speaker AVery cool.
Speaker AI love it.
Speaker AThat's awesome.
Speaker AI.
Speaker AWho was I talking to?
Speaker AOh, no, I just saw there was a lady that was a.
Speaker AShe was at Leaders for Life in Illinois for years and she went down to Atlanta to work on being.
Speaker AShe wanted to be a stunt woman.
Speaker AThat was her thing.
Speaker AShe wanted to be a stunt woman and just recently was in.
Speaker AIn something cool and I was like, wow, that's awesome.
Speaker BCool.
Speaker AYeah, yeah.
Speaker AAnd then we've got, you know, lots of the ATAs got a fair number of actor people who come out.
Speaker AMaster.
Speaker AMaster Mo is done act.
Speaker AYou know, Hana and her acting, so really cool now I'm gonna be super excited when you guys go big and I'm gonna be like, I did that interview with those guys.
Speaker AI, I knew that'll be so cool.
Speaker AOkay, so what's it mean to you guys to be champions?
Speaker ABeyond the belt for me.
Speaker BSo for me personally, I applied a lot of what I learned from martial arts, like the skills and the legacy program, to become a singer and an actor.
Speaker BSo I'm also a singer.
Speaker BI don't know.
Speaker BI sang the national anthem in my district.
Speaker BThat was like, huge for me.
Speaker BI've never performed in front of that many people.
Speaker BIt was really exciting for me.
Speaker BAnd also, like, just to hang on, just to, like, inspire.
Speaker BInspire people, like, to be their best.
Speaker BBecause, like, people don't really know what they're capable of until they really try, you know?
Speaker AYes.
Speaker AOh, that's great.
Speaker AAnd I love that.
Speaker AJust like, I mean, you performing in front of, you know, all these people for the national anthem.
Speaker AAnd that national anthem is not an easy song to sing.
Speaker ASo that.
Speaker AThat is awesome, you know, and that's inspiring as well, seeing you guys, you know, these athletes of the week come on the show and they're like, wow, I can be like those guys.
Speaker AThey're awesome.
Speaker AWhat about you, Scarlett?
Speaker CFor me, I just kind of apply, like the life skills that I've learned, like confidence and dedication, and I apply that into my acting and perform, like, showing the world, like, this is who I am.
Speaker CBecause before I was super shy, but now I'm like, not anymore.
Speaker AThat's awesome.
Speaker AHas a.
Speaker AHas kind of.
Speaker AUsually that's my last question, but I'm gonna go with one more.
Speaker AI. I'm curious because you guys are working on this acting things.
Speaker AHow have you seen martial arts and what you've done in martial arts assist you in that kind of goal, building that confidence, things like that.
Speaker AHas it been a big part of it?
Speaker BYes, it helps.
Speaker BIt's helped us a lot with like, building confidence to perform because I was like, every time I would go to compete, I would be like, okay, I can't mess up my form or I'm going to lose or I'm like, I'm not going to place.
Speaker BBut I really gained, like, self confidence in myself, like, building my mindset to say confident things.
Speaker BLike, I'm amazing.
Speaker BI can do this because I believe in, like, my skills and what I can really do.
Speaker AExcellent.
Speaker AWhat about you, Scarlett?
Speaker CPretty similar for me.
Speaker CCould you restate the question?
Speaker ACertainly.
Speaker AHow.
Speaker AHow have you seen martial arts assist or help in your goal to be an actor?
Speaker ABuilding confidence or.
Speaker AOr whatever way it might have helped.
Speaker CYou performing under pressure, like going out there and performing live and then like having the confidence to do it without, like, any mistakes.
Speaker CAnd then if you do make a mistake, like fixing it and not like crumbling under pressure.
Speaker AOh, that's a good one.
Speaker AThe.
Speaker AThe pressure.
Speaker ABecause you don't get.
Speaker AYou don't get multiple takes when you're doing your form or.
Speaker AOr whatnot at a tournament.
Speaker BYou know, that's why it's really good, because that actually really helps you prepare for acting.
Speaker BBecause on set, you get multiple takes, but you're used to performing under pressure and only getting one.
Speaker AThat's awesome.
Speaker AThat's very cool.
Speaker AWell, I am super excited that one.
Speaker AYou guys were the athletes of the week.
Speaker ACongratulations.
Speaker AIt's just neat to see these other students out there inspiring all of ata nation.
Speaker AAnd I'm really excited to see how you guys continue to thrive in not just your training, but in this goal of being actors.
Speaker AWe look forward to seeing you guys on the.
Speaker AOn the big screen someday.
Speaker BThank you.
Speaker CThank you.
Speaker AHave a great one.
Speaker BYou, too.
Speaker AForward to seeing those two on the big screen or the little screen, whatever.
