Speaker:

Today's tip comes from RSPA and PPA Certified Pickleball Pro, Jim Carella.

Speaker:

Have a listen and let us know what you think.

Speaker:

Hi, Jim Carella here, aka Jimbo Pickleball.

Speaker:

Today we're going to talk about ground strokes.

Speaker:

Wow, for a pickleball player, that sounds weird.

Speaker:

But if you are converting from tennis to pickle, this is right up your alley.

Speaker:

It's not a place you want to stay a long time, which is the end line or baseline.

Speaker:

But you do hit four hands and back hands, similar to tennis swing.

Speaker:

Definitely turn your shoulders.

Speaker:

This is where you're allowed to get sideways to the net.

Speaker:

Preferably a low to high swing to create some topspin so the ball will dip at your opponent's

Speaker:

feet.

Speaker:

Slices is okay, but it's not strongly encouraged when you're coming forward too often.

Speaker:

Remember those ground strokes?

Speaker:

You tennis players just like you did on the tennis court, and as always, happy pickling.

Speaker:

Well, there you have it.

Speaker:
