Hi, and welcome to Awfully Quiet. Today I wanna talk about the end of summer, the second half of the year, and back to school vibes. I remember when I was a student, when I was in school, I would love the back to school wives. I would love having a six week summer break where I could plot. Acquired reinvention.
A little bit of a glow up, obviously back then it would always be about the clothes I'd wear, it'd be about my hair and what it looked like. And I love this feeling of a glow up, a reinvention, coming back to school, different than I left it on the last day before summer vacations and summer holidays, and till this point.
I often feel that summer is such a powerful period, not to necessarily make some changes, but to really reflect on where you're at, what's been happening in the first half of the year, and where you're going in the second half of the year. I am also a Leo, so naturally with my birthday being at the end of July, that always has me thinking about the past year where I wanna take things moving forward.
It was just Lionsgate this week. So it's a powerful moment in time to think about what the future holds, where we're headed. And then obviously at the moment there's a lot going on with like, you know, the summer I turned and, , we're obviously all collectively watching this together and I wanna dedicate this episode towards a thought about.
Fully stepping into your awfully quiet and make this the summer that you start to embrace your quiet, that you start to leverage your quiet and potentially come back to school or back to work after summer in a way that heroes and celebrate some of your quiet traits rather than hiding them. This summer, if I'm really honest, I have worked on so many different things.
It's not been a quiet summer at all. It's been a full on summer and I can feel it now. I can feel that the past couple of weeks have been full on and there's a lot of exciting things going on at the moment, so I don't wanna complain. And there are some resources that I have been working on with Quiet Flex and the Subtle Scripts Pack, and all of it is really geared towards enabling that quiet reinvention and making sure that you get to see how powerful your quiet is.
You get to see how much untapped potential. There is hidden inside of you. And this is something that I'm extremely passionate about, for obvious reasons, but I also think it is such an underestimated thing for us, introverts. This, this going inward and this, this, you know, the potential, the brilliance that is often hidden inside.
It doesn't really come out. It's not really visible and. I found it extremely rewarding to put tools out into the world that are going to enable that for you. But today I don't wanna talk about any of the resources I created, although they're now all available for you. And I'll, I'll add a link in the show notes.
What I wanna talk about is, is the sentiment of making a conscious decision and moving forward in a way. That celebrates and heroes, you're quiet. I often feel that, for me personally, this is something that I always have to remind myself of because I am this, I'm a very ambitious person. I have huge goals.
I can rarely ever stop and you know, stop for a real break or for a real pause. I'm always doing the next thing. My head is always spinning. I'm very driven and it's extremely difficult for me to be quiet if I'm honest. Now, this sounds a little bit off brand, but bear with me. It is difficult for me to be quiet, and with that being said, whenever I do allow myself to be quiet, whenever I do give myself a little bit of time.
By myself with my own thoughts, or maybe even just without any thoughts. These are my most powerful moments. This is when I come up with best ideas without trying. It's when I feel most like myself. It's when I don't put pressure on myself, and it's when I accept myself for who I am and not only accept myself, but also.
See and feel some of that power. It's not only accepting a certain personality trait or a certain way of being as something that is just me, and I've learned to embrace it now. It's truly also seeing how powerful it can be if I use it in the right way
and this feeling, this inner strength. This inner knowing and this, this grounded feeling of, yeah, you know, everything's, everything's as it should be, and I can move forward, feeling strong and grounded. That only ever happens when I truly give myself the time to be quiet, to be with myself, to meet myself without distraction, without it being for an output, without it, without trying to be productive.
That is when I am at my best, and I sometimes find it so ironic that a lot of my day to day is not set up for, that, is not set up for me to be quiet and. A lot of me building this business, a lot of me running this podcast, this show, a lot of me creating resources for subtle series is not quiet at all.
It's always on, and so is my corporate career. It's very rarely quiet. So in a way, it is me telling myself that this summer, that, you know, in order to get back to school or in order to get back into. The second half of the year. This quiet is something that I need to remind myself of, is something that I need to make room for, is something that I need to schedule into my calendar in order to thrive.
Obviously, at the end of the day, in order to be productive, but I need to pull myself back and realize that not everything can always be. To be productive. I think I need to be quiet to just be with myself long enough to understand what it is that I need on any given day, what it is that I want, and then only then can I ask myself and how can I be productive?
What is most important for me to tackle today? What's the most important to do in my corporate role in, you know, for my online business, for this podcast? Because that is where true growth lives. And this is something that I would love for you to do as well, whether you are looking to level up in your role or in your corporate career.
Whether you are starting something else on the side, you may be launching a podcast tool, or you may be thinking about an endeavor that you're looking to bring out into the world. So often it feels like we need to find the tools, the answers, the insights to make these things happen in the outside world.
When, funnily enough, we never find anything that we need in the outside world. As introverts, as awfully quiet people, we always find what we need on the inside. We tune inwards. This is where our wisdom is. This is where our inner knowing is there's, this is where our strength lies, and so this is where we need to return to.
Whenever we're trying to achieve something new, whenever we're trying to step outside of our comfort zones, whenever we're trying to do something different, we need to go inward. We need to be quiet. This is where the power is. It's not necessarily awfully quiet in a sense. That you're not saying anything in the sense that you're shy, in the sense that you don't speak up.
That is not at all what awfully quiet is and what I'm here to do. Awfully quiet means being in tune with yourself, spending time with yourself, with your own thoughts, with what you need and with what you truly want. And so wherever you are, the summer. I hope that you get to spend a little bit of that quiet time all by yourself.
I know that I am going to make room for it moving forward. I know that this is something that I am deeply craving and that only when I get to spend some of that quiet time with myself, I will truly get to level up what I, whatever I have in mind for the second half of the year. And as you know me, I have so many things on my mind, so this is a reminder for you, and maybe you're already in the mood to spend a little bit of that quiet time and maybe just when you finish this episode, you could think about, you know, take a little bit of a walk or just walk a few steps inside.
And if you're already outside and walking. Whatever you're doing. Maybe there is a little bit of space, there's a little bit of room for you to relax, to sit down, to take a few deep breaths and be quiet.
Thank you for tuning in today. I'll see you next week.
