Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Hey, this is Cory Crowder, and you're listening to

Speaker:

Chasing Birdies.

Speaker:

>> RB: M.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: You guys out there tuning in today. We appreciate it

Speaker:

very much. We're rolling here on Chasing

Speaker:

Birdies. It's Thursday. We're stoked

Speaker:

my man JP Is joining me bright and strong today.

Speaker:

My man.

Speaker:

>> RB: My man. What is going on?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Shoot, dude, you know what's going on.

Speaker:

We had a lot of good shit happening this past weekend, man, in the

Speaker:

whole world of golf, which we'll get into.

Speaker:

But, uh, tell me what's going on with you, man. You got the Red Vanley

Speaker:

dialed in for the fall or what?

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah, that's what I was going to tell you is. This episode is brought to you by

Speaker:

Red Vanley. Uh, make sure you go to redvanly.com, check

Speaker:

them out, get your fall swag ready.

Speaker:

It's starting to look cooler around here.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I gotta tell you, though, man, it's kind of funny. I got the,

Speaker:

um, the drop ship package by.

Speaker:

By a gentleman that you and I both know. I'm not gonna say names.

Speaker:

Appreciate it. Appreciate throwing some, some swag

Speaker:

our way. Uh, and the shorts

Speaker:

are kind of, you know, they were there.

Speaker:

They're good. They're good.

Speaker:

>> RB: Really good, actually. I wore the pants the other day, and they were

Speaker:

dynamite.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Did you? That's funny. You wore pants

Speaker:

in the summer.

Speaker:

>> RB: Um, because I gotta work.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Did you go to work?

Speaker:

>> RB: I was on the sales call.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Okay. Sales call.

Speaker:

>> RB: But I do, I do. Um, I,

Speaker:

I haven't told you yet, but our boy Gentry,

Speaker:

you know, I, uh. The shoes that you got,

Speaker:

I was a little jealous of. And I,

Speaker:

I, I think he was even standing kind of close

Speaker:

when I said, I got all whites.

Speaker:

Well, but they're not yours. What just

Speaker:

showed up. But they're pretty solid.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Oh, no. So, dude, let's see. You.

Speaker:

Let me see.

Speaker:

>> RB: I'm gonna show you that

Speaker:

those are sick. All right.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: All right.

Speaker:

Oh, uh, those are dirty with some reds on

Speaker:

them. Yeah, those are dope. So

Speaker:

cool. Too bad, Too bad. Nobody can see that

Speaker:

them right now but me. You do that,

Speaker:

though. I felt bad for you. I know. You were really kind of deflated there after

Speaker:

you got your free pair of sick Jordans and then you saw my

Speaker:

sick pair of Jord. Um,

Speaker:

well, uh, you kind of felt. I feel you. I feel you.

Speaker:

>> RB: I mean, the, the ones you have, though, they are.

Speaker:

It's like, like you said, it's a paperweight. You'll never

Speaker:

use them. Unless.

Speaker:

That would be a great Augusta national shoe.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I probably will wear them, but it's just Got to be the

Speaker:

right conditions. I mean, you know, no mud.

Speaker:

>> RB: Right.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: But honestly, dude, I don't know if I will. Because the fact that they say

Speaker:

prototype, I don't know.

Speaker:

>> RB: Promo sample.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Promo sample. Um,

Speaker:

so whether or not they ever make it to market or not,

Speaker:

who knows?

Speaker:

But, uh, dude, I gotta clear the air a little bit with you

Speaker:

here. Um, uh, I heard a

Speaker:

rumor, and,

Speaker:

uh, I

Speaker:

reckon it's probably true, but I just needed to hear

Speaker:

from you first. But, um. And obviously you're

Speaker:

being. Being my best friend and

Speaker:

half brother here and there, depending upon a day.

Speaker:

Um, I'm kind of, uh, immune to this

Speaker:

side of you. But is there a 40th

Speaker:

birthday party that you're starting to plan already for yourself

Speaker:

going on right now? Is that happening

Speaker:

potentially?

Speaker:

>> RB: You know, dude, I like to plan, and I like to get things on

Speaker:

people's schedules. And, uh,

Speaker:

that way, it's planned far enough advance. So far, we have two

Speaker:

things planned next year. My 40th birthday and the Chasing

Speaker:

Birdies 2 Man, July 6th. 26th. 28th, by the

Speaker:

way. Um, but, yes, that is a

Speaker:

fact. But like I said, dude, you got a million things

Speaker:

going on in your life. The other's got a million things going in their lives.

Speaker:

I like to just have it in concrete and ready to

Speaker:

go.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Listen, dude, I. And I again, appreciate that. I

Speaker:

just, you know, May. I know May will be here before you know it, but

Speaker:

again, May is still, you know, nine months away. Like,

Speaker:

you could have a kid right now, and you already got the bedroom done and.

Speaker:

And the kid's name picked out. Um,

Speaker:

so I just heard that. I heard some rumblings from some friends of ours.

Speaker:

Mutual friends, you know, about your

Speaker:

potential 40th. Sounds like it's gonna be a pretty

Speaker:

epic. If you pull it off, which you will. You

Speaker:

will. You know, the people in place. You will.

Speaker:

So that's awesome, dude.

Speaker:

>> RB: So, hey, that's great. I guess I'll see you there.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, you will. You will.

Speaker:

>> RB: Uh, but let's get to, uh, what we need to talk about.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: All right?

Speaker:

>> RB: The PGA Tour FedEx cup

Speaker:

over. New PGA Tour season starts.

Speaker:

Tommy Fleetwood, five days before

Speaker:

he took the win, he said it'd be pretty funny

Speaker:

to win this one. And guess what he

Speaker:

did. He won it. I didn't

Speaker:

even tell you this, but about a month

Speaker:

and a half ago, old Tommy

Speaker:

Fleetwood started working with the

Speaker:

previous guest of ours. You want

Speaker:

to guess?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Well, Rotella.

Speaker:

>> RB: Bob Rotella. So

Speaker:

I, um, think, you know, that maybe helped him get over that hump a little

Speaker:

bit. Focus a Little more in those last couple holes. But

Speaker:

nonetheless, I loved watching to see him

Speaker:

win. He deserves it. He. I'm

Speaker:

so happy for that guy. Uh, and to win the FedEx cup did. What

Speaker:

a time to win.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I know, uh, what a time to win. I,

Speaker:

I actually felt a little emotional watching him

Speaker:

celebrate his victory because I was so. I

Speaker:

kind of, I was very empathetic. I felt every

Speaker:

emotion that he was feeling because I know that he has come so

Speaker:

close. It's almost hard to believe he's.

Speaker:

I just asked you this a couple of months ago on the show. I said,

Speaker:

uh, that Fleetwood. What does he want? He's won.

Speaker:

No, he's never won. Crazy.

Speaker:

Um, so I felt, I felt it for

Speaker:

him, dude. And I tell you what, man. I. Going

Speaker:

into Sunday with him having that lead and

Speaker:

I, and I read some things on the Internet with people making comments

Speaker:

about, you know, at what hole is his putter gonna fall

Speaker:

apart? You know, this, that and the other.

Speaker:

And I just really felt like

Speaker:

if there's gonna be a time for him to get it done, this is it.

Speaker:

This Sunday is it. You know, you, you had

Speaker:

Scheffler just far enough back that to where he was lurking.

Speaker:

Make a move.

Speaker:

>> RB: Well, he got working.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: He got it to 2 and then hit in the water.

Speaker:

Um, I was so excited for him.

Speaker:

And did you see, that's why golf's

Speaker:

so great, is all

Speaker:

of the fellow competitors.

Speaker:

>> RB: Dude, we're so happy for him.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: They're just elated.

Speaker:

>> RB: Justin Rose was literally filming him from his

Speaker:

cell phone, his, his tapping.

Speaker:

Everybody's so happy.

Speaker:

So let me ask you this question. Now that we're talking about golf

Speaker:

and you know, and the FedEx cup, and I think

Speaker:

it might have already happened or, uh, or

Speaker:

it's happening soon. If

Speaker:

you're Keegan Bradley, are you

Speaker:

taking yourself?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> RB: Agreed. You're one of the best players in golf right

Speaker:

now. Um, it'd be different if it was kind of like you

Speaker:

were like 14, 15, right? Like you were kind of that,

Speaker:

that line that was to, to be picked or not

Speaker:

picked. But dude, he's a clear cut pick.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Ah, clear cut pick. He's playing his best golf at this point,

Speaker:

his life. Obviously he has the

Speaker:

tournament track record to prove it. Back it up. The fact

Speaker:

that he's the captain they were talking about. Arne Palmer was the last

Speaker:

captain player to do it back in 60s.

Speaker:

Um, I don't think that there's any reason why

Speaker:

he should not pick himself or shouldn't play.

Speaker:

And that's not even an egotistical approach,

Speaker:

you know, like doing something selfishly because you're in

Speaker:

the power of the, uh, you hold the power in that position.

Speaker:

I just think comparing everything. He

Speaker:

should be playing on the Ryder cup team. No doubt about it.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yes.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: And if he's not, I'll be shocked.

Speaker:

>> RB: It's not an easy decision on his end. It's

Speaker:

not. Because if he picks himself

Speaker:

and they lose, you're full. If you

Speaker:

pick yourself and you win, you're a genius.

Speaker:

So it's, it's decision, um, hey, at

Speaker:

least he has to make that decision. That's the other thing, right? He

Speaker:

could have. Now he has to make a decision.

Speaker:

So.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: But I will say that even if he doesn't pick

Speaker:

himself and they lose, then you're going to still

Speaker:

have. You could be able to come up with all kind of scenarios to

Speaker:

point blame. I mean, the US should not lose this Ryder cup

Speaker:

this year, uh, on American soil. They should not.

Speaker:

Especially when a guy like McRoy is faltering week

Speaker:

after week. Kind of the nucleus within the, that

Speaker:

European team. You know, naturally they're, they're, they

Speaker:

got a pretty good collectively record

Speaker:

individually. I mean, Justin Rose has played in how many

Speaker:

Ryder Cups? I mean, a lot.

Speaker:

But I think the US should, no matter what,

Speaker:

be able to, to claim victory. That's

Speaker:

just my two cents for whatever it's worth as a

Speaker:

amateur podcaster that talks about golf.

Speaker:

>> RB: What about Patrick Cantley? Dude, I can't take it. I can't take

Speaker:

him on the golf course. The waggles, this, that

Speaker:

from the time that he grabbed the golf club.

Speaker:

I forget. I saw it online. Somebody started recording, like,

Speaker:

timing him. It was like 59 seconds from the time

Speaker:

he had the driver fully out of his golf bag.

Speaker:

Like. But you've hit the same shot the last three days. Why are we

Speaker:

thinking about this? It's a Street par 4.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: When they, yeah, when they went to. When they were on number

Speaker:

eight, that short par four, and they both hit driver and

Speaker:

then the camera angle, like on the front of them

Speaker:

can't lay. Looked like he, it looked like one

Speaker:

of us swinging up there, like both of them

Speaker:

blew it. Right. And it looked like two amateur

Speaker:

golfers just trying to protect themselves from not going in the water.

Speaker:

And they both let up on a swing and just smashed

Speaker:

it. Right. Uh, I, I don't know, man. He, you

Speaker:

know, it's, he's kind of hard to watch.

Speaker:

Um, I just think because he's kind of, just doesn't have any

Speaker:

swag about him, that's all. I mean, He's a. Look, he's

Speaker:

a. He's a player, you know? I can't take that away

Speaker:

from him. But just. There's just nothing to him, you know?

Speaker:

He's just kind of. Kind of vanilla to me.

Speaker:

Well, which I. I don't mind vanilla ice cream with some,

Speaker:

like, sprinkles or Oreos, but.

Speaker:

>> RB: But, um, I'll tell you who's not vanilla

Speaker:

is our guest today.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Our guest today is not. Not vanilla at

Speaker:

all.

Speaker:

>> RB: Uh. Uh, you know, I met our guests,

Speaker:

um, about a year ago, actually, funny enough, at

Speaker:

Sage Valley, um, with a couple of the other

Speaker:

guys. And, uh, today we

Speaker:

have Corey Crowder

Speaker:

on the pod. And, um, you know, he

Speaker:

kind of was. He's close friends with one of

Speaker:

the boys at Florida Georgia Line. It was funny, the story about

Speaker:

him introducing him to this guy. They're forming

Speaker:

Florida Georgia Line Band. And that's

Speaker:

all she wrote. Right? And, uh, we all know where that

Speaker:

went. That. That was incredible run for that

Speaker:

duo. Um, but the guy loves golf. He

Speaker:

lives down. Down there in Reynolds, uh,

Speaker:

plantation member at Kuskawilla.

Speaker:

I think I might be saying it wrong, but,

Speaker:

um, yeah, that's where he's a member at.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Grammy nominee. Won five

Speaker:

awards that basically no one can

Speaker:

win in the music biz. Uh,

Speaker:

he did it. He had the plaques to back it up.

Speaker:

I gotta say, though, man, we do our guests, or not our guests,

Speaker:

but our listeners a disservice often, because

Speaker:

when we stop recording and we have our

Speaker:

talk with our guests and we're just, like,

Speaker:

recapping and shooting a shit for a minute,

Speaker:

it's such good conversation,

Speaker:

and it's never recorded. And

Speaker:

this episode with Corey Crowder,

Speaker:

when it ended, we talked for about another 10

Speaker:

minutes. And it was

Speaker:

gold. It was gold. And it's

Speaker:

nowhere to be found anywhere

Speaker:

in the ether. But it was great. But it was great

Speaker:

talk. But enough of us talking,

Speaker:

man. I'm ready to roll us in the Corey

Speaker:

Crowder here on Chasing

Speaker:

Birdies.

Speaker:

You guys enjoy it,

Speaker:

man, it's always good to have a guest on the

Speaker:

show that not only did we not talk

Speaker:

too much in the past or had on a show in the past,

Speaker:

but bringing the roots back up from

Speaker:

Nashville. And Grammy nominee

Speaker:

Corey Crowder is here today on Chase

Speaker:

and Birdies. He's done it all. We'll get into that whole

Speaker:

thing. But, brother, man, it's finally so good to

Speaker:

have you on Chasing Birdies. I know it's been. You know, it's.

Speaker:

We've been trying. Let's put it to you that way.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah. Yeah. It's good to be here. Thanks for having me.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: And I understand, uh, that,

Speaker:

uh, the meeting of the minds between you and Pep happened on a golf

Speaker:

course down in Sage Valley. What a

Speaker:

coincidence.

Speaker:

>> RB: Sage Valley brings everybody together.

Speaker:

So, um, it's. Yeah,

Speaker:

that's where it all happened. And it all started. Yeah.

Speaker:

Me, Neil Walker,

Speaker:

Cole, Taylor, Tyler, Reeve,

Speaker:

Corey. I mean, I think all of us had to

Speaker:

carry Cole, uh, Taylor back to the townhouse

Speaker:

at one night. So that was good.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Does he get bent or what?

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: I don't know. I mean, he just never stops drinking beers. I mean, it's

Speaker:

impressive.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: It really is.

Speaker:

>> RB: He's so small.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: That's it, right?

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah, he's got a way better tolerance than I do.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I just don't understand that because,

Speaker:

I don't know, some people just with their tolerance,

Speaker:

it's actually impressive. Like you want to get. You want to tip your hat

Speaker:

to them.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: It takes practice. Ryan.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Absolutely does, man.

Speaker:

>> RB: Best part with him, though, is you never know when it's actually from

Speaker:

alcohol or he's just taking a nap.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: I'm jealous of that. I couldn't take a nap if I tried.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Well, you got a little one too, right?

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: I've got a 12 year old boy and a 9 year old girl,

Speaker:

so they're not really little anymore, but.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: But that 12.

Speaker:

>> RB: His 12 year old son, uh, is wearing a size 13

Speaker:

shoe bud. That's as big as you are.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Uh, that's. That is insane. Is that what you guys were talking

Speaker:

about? He's wearing a 13 at 12.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: He's six foot tall and wears a 13. So he's raiding

Speaker:

my shoe closet. Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: He's 12.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah. Isn't that wild? Well, see, my

Speaker:

wife. My wife is six foot tall. I'm

Speaker:

six. Six. My dad's a huge

Speaker:

guy. Laney's dad's a huge guy. So, like,

Speaker:

you know, it's just genetics, man. He's. But he's

Speaker:

going to fly by me. I mean, he'll be looking down on me for sure.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, there's no doubt about it.

Speaker:

>> RB: Not that you're not treating your own son right, but you might want to think about

Speaker:

that in the future of him putting you

Speaker:

in a garbage can or something else.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: So, uh, I told him it's gonna be a long time before

Speaker:

he can whoop his old man. I got the dad strength going

Speaker:

for me.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah. Yeah.

Speaker:

Um, so, man, what's been going on with you

Speaker:

in your world? You know, I know you. You stay wrapped.

Speaker:

Wrapped in the music biz tuned in.

Speaker:

Um, not playing. Trying to play on words there, but

Speaker:

really, you know, you have a pretty successful

Speaker:

career in the business. Um,

Speaker:

and so, I mean, you still. What's your day to

Speaker:

day? Like, I guess right now in 20, 25, and

Speaker:

we'll get back to the start of it all, because I know Jonathan and I

Speaker:

talked a little bit about you. You early on days,

Speaker:

but, uh, like, right now. Corey Crowder, what is he working

Speaker:

on, man?

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: So I, you know, about three years ago, I moved full

Speaker:

time to Lake Oconee in Georgia.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Okay.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: So I did that. I mean, man, in Nashville,

Speaker:

I was on the grind. Like, uh, so I'm a producer and a writer. So

Speaker:

in Nashville, it was, like, constant. I mean, I opened

Speaker:

the studio every day, and I shut it down every day. I was first, First.

Speaker:

First to arrive, last to leave. Um, and

Speaker:

I just. My kids were getting older, and I just

Speaker:

decided, you know, man, I need a.

Speaker:

I need to be able to, like, distance myself from this and

Speaker:

not be on the grind every day of the week,

Speaker:

24, you know, 24 hours a day. So, yeah, moving down here

Speaker:

has been great. So we're from here originally, so, you know, getting back

Speaker:

to, like, my kids are getting to grow up how I grew up

Speaker:

small town, um,

Speaker:

obviously obsessed with golf. And I'm, you know,

Speaker:

we're in a heavy golf area.

Speaker:

So I would say, you know, I spend a week a month in

Speaker:

Nashville, and I pack sessions with, like, artists,

Speaker:

writing sessions that, when I'm there. So I'm there next week for the whole

Speaker:

week. Uh, and then when I'm here, I do this.

Speaker:

I zoom with people. I zoomed, uh,

Speaker:

actually two days ago with Cole Taylor and Thomas Archer.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Oh, nice.

Speaker:

>> RB: Speaking of, man.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah, dude, I love those guys. And so anybody that.

Speaker:

Anybody I already have kind of a good relationship with,

Speaker:

um, I'll zoom with them, and we'll either start songs

Speaker:

or. Or finish them out and send them to artists. But,

Speaker:

yeah, so my kind of day to day here looks

Speaker:

like, you know, I play golf three days a week,

Speaker:

uh, at least.

Speaker:

>> RB: That's awesome.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: And then I, uh. And then I, you know, I'm on the

Speaker:

grind when I'm in Nashville, and I get to, like, just, like,

Speaker:

go full throttle while I'm there and then come back here and kind of take a

Speaker:

breath and work at my own pace. I like

Speaker:

it, man.

Speaker:

>> RB: It's, uh, a.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: It's a nice break from the constant, you know?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Well, I mean, you're living life. You're doing

Speaker:

everything that you love. You know, you're in the place you want to

Speaker:

be at. You're still doing what you are passionate

Speaker:

about. You got the kids going on right now, and you love

Speaker:

golf. You. And that's what so many people

Speaker:

through life need to understand that, like,

Speaker:

we're. We're not going to end up at one

Speaker:

destination. Like, everyone's always trying to get to this. This is

Speaker:

this. When I, When I get to this point, then I'll get that, blah, blah, blah.

Speaker:

It's like you got to take what you have and kind

Speaker:

of put the tunnel vision on and take that day by day and

Speaker:

enjoy that. You know what I'm saying?

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah, man, you spot on. Yeah. You know,

Speaker:

it's easy to get, uh, caught up in that. You know, my. My goal

Speaker:

was always, you know, oh, man, if I could just have one number one song.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Exactly.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Say I would feel different. And then you get the number one song and

Speaker:

you're like, well, I didn't feel any different. Uh,

Speaker:

I want five number one songs and then.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Right.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: I want a Triple Play Award. And then, you know, at every,

Speaker:

every junction, you just are like, man, this is

Speaker:

still, still the same, you know, so, yeah, uh, finding

Speaker:

a ways to like, actually live life and

Speaker:

focus, uh, on what's important while still, you know, staying

Speaker:

after it's been.

Speaker:

>> RB: For those of that are listening, can you

Speaker:

explain the Triple Play Award? Uh, a lot of

Speaker:

people might not know what that is.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah. So, dude, when I first moved to town, I had

Speaker:

a. I had an artist record deal.

Speaker:

And one of the first things they did was they brought

Speaker:

me to this thing called the Triple Play Awards, which means you had

Speaker:

three number one songs in a calendar year,

Speaker:

which is like, virtually impossible for a

Speaker:

songwriter. A lot easier for. Yeah, like,

Speaker:

a lot easier for an artist, you know, especially if you're a big artist,

Speaker:

maybe. Um, but like, for a

Speaker:

songwriter, it's just so out of your control. I mean.

Speaker:

>> RB: Right.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Has really nothing to do with your work ethic or your

Speaker:

songs or anything. It's just like luck,

Speaker:

whatever you want to call it. Right. I mean, you just happen to

Speaker:

land three radio singles that just so happened to go number one

Speaker:

in the same year. Which is for me, it was

Speaker:

always been like a sign of, like, that was always bigger

Speaker:

to me than like a Grammy or a acm.

Speaker:

Like, you know, those are cool. But like,

Speaker:

that was the one that was like, man, if I'm ever there.

Speaker:

So, like, the first time I saw that Luke Brown was on

Speaker:

stage and, uh, man, it

Speaker:

seemed like a million miles away from me, you know, because I was like, just getting

Speaker:

to Town. I'm like this joker and all these guys that

Speaker:

he brings on stage, they had three number one songs in a year.

Speaker:

That's. That's wild. Um,

Speaker:

and so, yeah, the year I got it, I had five in the

Speaker:

year.

Speaker:

>> RB: What.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Which was wild. Almost had a

Speaker:

double triple play.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Holy hell.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Um, but it was.

Speaker:

>> RB: So what were the five songs that. That you wrote that

Speaker:

year?

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: So let's see. See if I can remember them. Long

Speaker:

live Florida Georgia Line. Yeah, I love my

Speaker:

country. Florida Georgia Line. Famous friends. Chris

Speaker:

Young came around, drinking beer, talking.

Speaker:

God. Amen.

Speaker:

>> RB: Chase.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Uh, Rice. Florida Georgia Line. And then,

Speaker:

um, there was one other, uh,

Speaker:

missing. Let me look at it.

Speaker:

>> RB: Just look at your wall. It's fine. It'll be hanging up.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: I remember the 5th, but it was like a. Ah, it

Speaker:

was a close one, man. It was, um, a real

Speaker:

close call. So.

Speaker:

>> RB: That's insane.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: I mean, yeah, dude. I. That was

Speaker:

like. That's, like, my most proud moment. Like, anybody that comes here to this room,

Speaker:

I'm always like. Like, my buddies that don't know anything about

Speaker:

music, I'm like, this little tiny award

Speaker:

right here is, like. This is, like, the one.

Speaker:

>> RB: This is everything.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: This is the one that I'm, like, proud of.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: That is.

Speaker:

>> RB: Well, speaking of words, Bash, you should tell them your Tyler

Speaker:

Reeve story. Um. What? He threw

Speaker:

you?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Oh, man. You know, we were at Old Hickory. This

Speaker:

is back in. This is, like, Covid. This is, like,

Speaker:

2020. And, uh,

Speaker:

I'm in Nashville, and I set up some golf with Tyler

Speaker:

over at, uh, Old Hickory. And

Speaker:

we had already interviewed him on chasing birdies, like, right when

Speaker:

we started. Um, but I had never

Speaker:

met him, so, you know, I was like, hey, man, I'm coming

Speaker:

down to Nashville, and let's play some G.

Speaker:

Whatever. So we did. Well, we played

Speaker:

golf, and it ended up turning into a hangout session at Old

Speaker:

Hickory, naturally, which ended up turning into

Speaker:

pool. Uh, or maybe it was darts, either

Speaker:

way. But anyways, that turned into betting with tequila

Speaker:

shots.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Oh, boy.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: And it got to the point where I

Speaker:

completely quit drinking. It was my buddy and him that were going

Speaker:

back and forth, back and forth, back and forth, and just doing

Speaker:

these shots, one after another after another after another.

Speaker:

Finally, I said, hey, man, I'm like. And mind you, again, this,

Speaker:

uh. I'm like, I'm taking your keys because you are not

Speaker:

driving home. Your wife's calling you. She wants to know where her grilled

Speaker:

chicken salad is. That was three hours ago.

Speaker:

So I'm gonna take your keys, and what we're

Speaker:

gonna do is I'm gonna drive your ass home when you're ready to go. Because

Speaker:

I was sober at this point. So,

Speaker:

uh, at any rate, we left there and

Speaker:

I drove his truck and he directs me to his house and

Speaker:

he's dropping him off and he's like, come on in,

Speaker:

guys. So we go in and

Speaker:

naturally, uh, his wife was pissed, Ashley was not happy.

Speaker:

And, um, Tyler, still yucking it up,

Speaker:

you know, and pulls out the, uh,

Speaker:

the necklace that he got for, in case you didn't

Speaker:

know. And he like just launches it

Speaker:

at me. Like, I'm like.

Speaker:

And he. And he puts it on my neck and

Speaker:

I felt like I'm in like WWF versus

Speaker:

wcw. That's old school right there, by the way. Wwf?

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Oh, yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: And I got the, uh, you know, the BMI thing on or whatever it

Speaker:

was, boys for, uh, you know, number one hit,

Speaker:

in case you didn't know.

Speaker:

>> RB: And throw his Grammy at you, though.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: He. Well, I don't know if it was a Grammy. I don't remember

Speaker:

specifically what it was, but no, he, he was throwing like these

Speaker:

awards. Throwing awards at you, just like tossing

Speaker:

them. Check this one out. Toss. And I'm like. And we're

Speaker:

all like. But yeah, that was,

Speaker:

that was pretty funny. And to this day he's like,

Speaker:

that was one of the. That, that was the

Speaker:

drunkest time I've ever been. Like, that was. That was it.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: That's saying something too.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: That is saying something.

Speaker:

>> RB: Five in a year.

Speaker:

Talking about mailbox money boys.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Justin Matthias, huh?

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Ah, giving you some lessons. There you go. Yeah,

Speaker:

thank the number ones.

Speaker:

But that's interesting, man, because. And I don't know

Speaker:

at what liberty we can discuss it because we don't need to discuss

Speaker:

it, but the reality is, is that that Florida Georgia Line

Speaker:

run was some of the best popping

Speaker:

music hitting the charts that we have seen.

Speaker:

I mean, there's no. Nobody can argue that. I

Speaker:

don't care. Um, when those two were together,

Speaker:

and it's unfortunate, but shit happens, man. That's life. That's

Speaker:

just the way it goes. But, um, you kind of were

Speaker:

at the epicenter of that in some respect, if I understand

Speaker:

correctly, with the start of fgl.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah, I wasn't, I wasn't around for the start. But you know, when they,

Speaker:

they, um, they opened a company

Speaker:

called Tree Vibes Music, and it was like a

Speaker:

publishing company. And so they had this

Speaker:

badass building, uh, over in 21st

Speaker:

Avenue, which is kind of like in between Belmont and

Speaker:

Vanderbilt. And it was this super

Speaker:

modern. They had bought this old school house and like, completely

Speaker:

gutted it and made this killer spot.

Speaker:

I mean, there'll never be anything that tops

Speaker:

this, you know, five or six year period. Right? It was

Speaker:

just. We were so. I had the. The big

Speaker:

studio there with the guys that I.

Speaker:

I lived in. That's the one I referred to opening and

Speaker:

closing every day. Um,

Speaker:

it was so. It was so awesome, man. And like, those guys were

Speaker:

in, you know, they were in every day whether we were writing

Speaker:

or not. I mean, it was like, you know,

Speaker:

Hardy, Jordan Schmidt, uh, Ernest,

Speaker:

me, um, Kanan Smith,

Speaker:

the boys Redfer. And I mean, we were chilling on

Speaker:

the porch every morning. That's crazy. You know, drinking beers in the

Speaker:

afternoon. It was like we were, you know, playing each other the song

Speaker:

we wrote that day. It was just a magical

Speaker:

time that, like, Covid, honestly, kind of

Speaker:

just squashed that vibe. Like there's not really,

Speaker:

to my knowledge, not really another publishing company that's ever

Speaker:

really felt like that. And it,

Speaker:

uh, it was a bummer for that to get squashed, but it was. I'm glad

Speaker:

we got to have it, but, man, those guys had this bus and

Speaker:

they were the first ones to do it. We had a. So the tree vibes bus

Speaker:

was just for the writers. And we had a studio on

Speaker:

the front and a studio in the back, and so we'd bring

Speaker:

like six of us out for the whole Florida Georgia

Speaker:

Line tour. So it was like Wallen, Dan and

Speaker:

Shea. Um, I mean, just,

Speaker:

you know, those. Those tours were epic,

Speaker:

obviously. And we were riding with some

Speaker:

artist every single day in the front or back lounge. And then,

Speaker:

you know, you'd play the song by the end of the day, like at the end of the night

Speaker:

after the show would come in there and the demo would be done and we just

Speaker:

all drink some beers and like, listen to the songs. And it was.

Speaker:

Dude, it was so badass. Like, magical

Speaker:

time period.

Speaker:

>> RB: I mean, that. So many names you drop

Speaker:

there. I mean, you think about that, that's what, six, seven years ago

Speaker:

this was happening, right?

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> RB: I mean, you look at the names, some of the names that you mentioned there and

Speaker:

where they're at now in their career,

Speaker:

um, it's crazy. You know, people think that it's an

Speaker:

overnight success. And, you know, you talk to,

Speaker:

I think Ray Fulcher and even Tyler and Cole

Speaker:

Taylor, they called Nashville a ten year.

Speaker:

What is it? A ten year town.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Ten year town. Yeah.

Speaker:

>> RB: And, uh, you look at a lot of those names, and it took about

Speaker:

six, seven years for them to get where they're at.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah, no It's. It's true. Yeah. Same happened to

Speaker:

me. You know, I moved. I moved to town with a record deal

Speaker:

and kind of, like, fell out of love with performing

Speaker:

and, um, fell in love with, like, the studio and

Speaker:

writing songs and. And so, yeah, it took me,

Speaker:

you know, seven, eight years to get something truly rolling.

Speaker:

You know, if you look from the beginning of it, um,

Speaker:

from when I first moved it, you know, Cole Taylor is actually

Speaker:

the fastest I've ever heard of. Like, he had

Speaker:

Sipping on Fire within, like, a couple years.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Um, just a crazy. You know, I just never

Speaker:

happens.

Speaker:

>> RB: So let me ask you. So whenever, you know, you were tied

Speaker:

in with Florida Georgia Line from basically the beginning,

Speaker:

um, and you were on that rocket ship, which had to be.

Speaker:

You had to feel like you're invincible, right? Like, I

Speaker:

mean, at some point.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Oh, yeah.

Speaker:

>> RB: When Cole wrote Sipping on Fire, does Florida

Speaker:

Georgia Line take that and, like, let you

Speaker:

listen to it and you think this is what we should be doing type

Speaker:

thing? Or is it just purely they're working hands on hands with

Speaker:

Cole?

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Well, I wasn't around for that, for that song. But,

Speaker:

um, so they were over at Big Loud at this time, and they

Speaker:

had, uh. Cole had started that. I

Speaker:

can't remember who he started that with. And then Rodney Claussen

Speaker:

was over at Big Loud, and so I think they

Speaker:

brought it to Rodney Clawson and he kind of helped him

Speaker:

tweak it out. And then, yeah, he brought it over to Joey,

Speaker:

Moy and Seth. Um, so

Speaker:

I think Cole, you know, I don't think Cole had really any direct

Speaker:

interaction with the boys, but that was probably more Rodney.

Speaker:

Um. But yeah, I mean, dude, what a.

Speaker:

I mean, I remember when that happened, I was so jealous just because I'm

Speaker:

like, damn, I'm over here grinding. Cole moves town.

Speaker:

He's just, boom, he has a hit. I mean, obviously

Speaker:

Cole's one of my homies, so I was, like, mega excited for

Speaker:

him. But, uh, I mean, it just seems so

Speaker:

impossible, you know, Sometimes you're like, dude, it doesn't.

Speaker:

It doesn't matter how good of a song I write today. It's like, never gonna

Speaker:

happen.

Speaker:

>> RB: You know, I think that the whole. Your whole

Speaker:

song rights are so interesting because, like, even if I'm

Speaker:

smoking a cigar, which you witnessed,

Speaker:

I smoke a lot of them. Um, I sit

Speaker:

there and I start putting a few words in my head. Like, I'll get to, like,

Speaker:

word seven. I'm like, I don't know where to

Speaker:

go from here. If I'm just, like, doing it in my head.

Speaker:

And you guys write a whole damn song in two hours. And it's just

Speaker:

like. And I guess there's four people that are helping or three people

Speaker:

that are filling in gaps, whatever. But still, it is such a

Speaker:

talent that I don't think people realize. I think by

Speaker:

now a lot of our listeners know kind of

Speaker:

what goes into the country music scene. But it is still.

Speaker:

It's incredible what goes into a song.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah, I mean, you know, I relate it to

Speaker:

golf a lot because it's like you

Speaker:

can't, you can't just like pick up a golf club like once

Speaker:

or twice a year and, and do anything

Speaker:

really. Right. So.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Right. 100.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: It's like, you know, I'm written thousands of songs at this point.

Speaker:

So you kind of know how

Speaker:

to get there from every spot. You know,

Speaker:

it's like once you have an idea and you know, like where you're landing the

Speaker:

plane, as we say, it's

Speaker:

just. You kind of know how to get there and it's just really all about

Speaker:

trying to do it a little different and say it just one,

Speaker:

one tick different. But we're really all talking about the

Speaker:

same shit. Just, you know, trying to say, uh, it

Speaker:

just a slightly different, you know.

Speaker:

>> RB: Right.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: No, I think the songwriting thing

Speaker:

is incredible. It's. It's such a cool thing. I've

Speaker:

been writing the same song now for 12 years. I got the same melody,

Speaker:

the same chord progression, and I just can't put the

Speaker:

right lyrics on top of it. But I do enjoy

Speaker:

that aspect. For me, as a. As, you know, just a

Speaker:

guy that plays the guitar, plays piano. I've done it

Speaker:

virtually my whole life and I really appreciate music.

Speaker:

Uh, I can't sing, but that's where you come in, Corey.

Speaker:

If I want to cut an ep, I'm going to come to your studio and we're

Speaker:

going to use all kind of, you know, technology

Speaker:

now to really get my voice auto tune, for example,

Speaker:

um, take out the nasally sound a little bit and kind of

Speaker:

make that, uh, make that roll a little bit.

Speaker:

And that was gonna be one of my questions to you now

Speaker:

with, with the producing aspect of it, you

Speaker:

know, with the way technology has advanced so much.

Speaker:

I mean, not just from the 80s and 90s, but I'm

Speaker:

talking in the last 15 years. Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Ah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Um. Do you gotta keep on your game?

Speaker:

Like, do you gotta go. And I don't want to say take

Speaker:

continuing education, but is it more just about

Speaker:

experimenting with stuff and seeing, you know, I mean,

Speaker:

how does that work now with the way tech is advancing

Speaker:

things, man.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: I mean this is, this is dating me a little bit. But

Speaker:

like I had Auto Tune 1

Speaker:

and I had. And I'm pretty sure, I

Speaker:

mean we're on at least 12 now.

Speaker:

Um, so I mean I had the first iteration of

Speaker:

Auto Tune, the first iteration of Melodyne, which is another

Speaker:

tuning and editing software. And like,

Speaker:

yeah, dude, I've always been, I've always

Speaker:

been good with computers so it's always kind of come a little natural

Speaker:

to me. Um, but yeah, I,

Speaker:

I stay up on it, I'm geeky about it. So me and I

Speaker:

got, you know, my producer buddies and anytime we find some

Speaker:

new tool that's, that's really helping

Speaker:

and that we think is like legit, we, we kind of toss it around.

Speaker:

Yesterday I was uh, talking about

Speaker:

this new AI software with some guys

Speaker:

just for, just for quick demoing or like if you

Speaker:

want to pitch a song to a guy like

Speaker:

you know, like Morgan for, for example, if you wrote a

Speaker:

song from Morgan, like, well my, my voice is really different than Morgan's,

Speaker:

you know, so like man, how do I sing

Speaker:

this and him hear it and think

Speaker:

I can hear myself doing that. Right? So it's really

Speaker:

helpful to have like AI tools where I can,

Speaker:

I can uh, take my voice and, and turn it

Speaker:

into a different sounding voice that

Speaker:

sounds a little bit more similar to what he would do. So maybe he's

Speaker:

able to like hear it and actually listen

Speaker:

to the song and not be thinking, oh, I'm not, I'm not going to sound like

Speaker:

that, you know. So I mean I'm constantly evolving,

Speaker:

uh, and trying to stay up on it. The technology

Speaker:

changes literally by the month. I mean these,

Speaker:

it's wild. Technology in the last five years

Speaker:

alone has been psycho. How much has changed?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Oh, it's, it's, it's with everything though.

Speaker:

>> RB: I mean every, the AI thing I think is really scary.

Speaker:

I think it's obvious, it's good, but it's also really

Speaker:

scary what these AI things can

Speaker:

be done. Um, even with photographs,

Speaker:

um, and music and all that,

Speaker:

it's um, it's cool. But again,

Speaker:

it's concerning a little bit.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah, it's a lot of bit concerning. I mean as long as we get

Speaker:

legislation around, it would be good. Um, the

Speaker:

problem is we're always so behind. We're

Speaker:

still trying to catch up to streaming royalties

Speaker:

for writers. So it's like. And how long has

Speaker:

streaming been around? We're still,

Speaker:

we're so behind and it's just part of it.

Speaker:

Um, so just trying to stay

Speaker:

Use it as a tool and not

Speaker:

hate it and resent it. It's really tough. Um,

Speaker:

like, if you were to see my studio right now, like when I.

Speaker:

My. My old studio maybe like five or six years ago, had like

Speaker:

tons of rack gear everywhere. And like,

Speaker:

I don't have any of that. I sold it all because there's really no

Speaker:

need for it. It's all. It's all in this computer now. You know, it's

Speaker:

like crazy. And there's no hiss, there's no,

Speaker:

you know, dirty pots where you turn it and it. It

Speaker:

won't work. And it's just always perfect.

Speaker:

And it sounds exactly like the

Speaker:

real piece of gear, you know?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: So, uh, are you using. What. Do you use Pro Tools or what? What. What

Speaker:

is it?

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: I'm in Logic, so.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Logic.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: I made records, like the first few Chris Young records I did,

Speaker:

I did in Pro Tools. And it just like, never

Speaker:

felt really comfortable.

Speaker:

Um, almost like to liken it to

Speaker:

golf, it was like playing like a standard size

Speaker:

set of clubs. Whereas, like now I'm in like 2 inch longer

Speaker:

with big grips. And it's like.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: It's a great analogy.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah. So, like, you know, it's like you can do it, but you're just

Speaker:

constantly uncomfortable. And

Speaker:

so, like, Logic. Once I figured out that I could make

Speaker:

records in Logic because it's just more intuitive for my

Speaker:

brain, uh, I just made the

Speaker:

switch and records tend to turn

Speaker:

out more like I. Like, I want them to that way,

Speaker:

I think.

Speaker:

>> RB: Uh, yeah, it's crazy.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: What were you gonna say?

Speaker:

>> RB: Pep? Sorry, I was going. I was going to ask about the.

Speaker:

The where country music is right now. I

Speaker:

feel like it is on top of the world.

Speaker:

Um, yeah, I feel like all walks of life are listening

Speaker:

to country music. Um, you know,

Speaker:

and actually, I would probably say it all kind of started

Speaker:

with Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line. Those guys kind of have

Speaker:

propelled it. And now your

Speaker:

Luke Combs and Morgan Wallins have kind of like

Speaker:

taken and taken it. Um, because,

Speaker:

dude, there's. In Pittsburgh, there's four or five

Speaker:

country music stations just in Pittsburgh.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: That's wild.

Speaker:

>> RB: And, um, I feel like country music

Speaker:

is in a incredible spot right now.

Speaker:

And. And what are you seeing from your

Speaker:

side of it? Um, do you feel like when

Speaker:

you're on the inside, are you feeling that?

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah, there's all these, like, little sub genres within

Speaker:

country now. You know, country is like kind of a

Speaker:

pretty wide term, whereas, like, you know,

Speaker:

in the 90s, it all kind of sounded similar. And then

Speaker:

like, I. I feel like Garth

Speaker:

Brooks if you just think about, like,

Speaker:

the music before Garth Brooks and then, like, after Garth

Speaker:

Brooks, like, it really kind of shifted. Uh,

Speaker:

it like Garth kind of brought it to, like, that

Speaker:

stadium, uh, performer kind of, you know,

Speaker:

wearing the headset, you know? Um, I just feel

Speaker:

like it really changed. I mean, I remember. Do you remember

Speaker:

Tim McGraw? I think it was Tim McGraw and Nelly

Speaker:

did a song together.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Um, and that, like, blew my mind. And then.

Speaker:

Yeah. All in my head, I think, as well.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Over and over again.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I think

Speaker:

that was, like, the beginning of the shift, you know, and then. But I

Speaker:

do. I think you're spot on. Like, the bro country

Speaker:

movement of, like, Luke Bryan and FGL

Speaker:

opened it up to, like, guys that were into hip hop, that were like, dude,

Speaker:

this actually. I can actually feel this.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: The crazy thing is. Now. Is

Speaker:

that what you just said? Like, you're seeing,

Speaker:

like, marshmallow, you know, the DJ EDM

Speaker:

rolling in with some of these boys doing some

Speaker:

cuts. You know, you mentioned the rappers and

Speaker:

then take it a step further. Look at Shibuzi himself.

Speaker:

Mean, my man's got the hip hop flow going on the country, and he's blown

Speaker:

up. Yeah. Uh, you know what I mean?

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: So it's kind of transcended into all these different avenues.

Speaker:

Like, it's almost like the country.

Speaker:

Like, I hate to say it, and I'm probably not right

Speaker:

in saying this, but it's almost like if you listen to the highway on

Speaker:

Sirius, that's not country. That's like

Speaker:

a different genre of country. Like, it's country,

Speaker:

but it's not, like, turning on, you know,

Speaker:

Willie's Roadhouse or some shit like that.

Speaker:

You know what I mean?

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: No, I do. Uh, I think you're right. Um,

Speaker:

the cool part for me, like, I know a lot of country purists hate

Speaker:

it, but I think it's cool, man, because it, like,

Speaker:

country is like the last spot where, like, lyric really

Speaker:

matters, you know? Um,

Speaker:

where, like, a lot of people that have never listened to country that start

Speaker:

listening to it, they're like, man, I just like the stories and, like,

Speaker:

the. The words. Um, there's not used to

Speaker:

that in other genres. And so it's like the last kind

Speaker:

of space for that. So that's kind of the thread that

Speaker:

I feel like, connects all of them is that, like, lyric kind of matters

Speaker:

still, you know? That's true, but there's all these sub

Speaker:

genres. So, like, you got Zach Topp, who's, like, super

Speaker:

traditional. You got Zach Bryan, who's super, like, folky

Speaker:

um, and yeah, you got Shaboozy and, and

Speaker:

uh, and you know, Wallen that are doing, you

Speaker:

know, leaning kind of hip hop at times. And like, I just think it's

Speaker:

cool because it's, it's given country a place

Speaker:

where like, anybody can like it, you know?

Speaker:

Yeah, I think that's, I think it's a good thing. I

Speaker:

see it as a good thing.

Speaker:

>> RB: Some of the boys, I, I never even heard of Don Williams before.

Speaker:

Hanging out with some of those boys, uh, you know, Tyler and

Speaker:

all them, and they got me on this Don Williams kick

Speaker:

the guy. It's, it's like your grandfather's talking to you.

Speaker:

I mean, Tulsa time and I hope

Speaker:

today's gonna be good and all this other stuff.

Speaker:

Literally, I'll sit on my patio and smoke a cigar while I'm trying to

Speaker:

write a five word song,

Speaker:

um, and listen to Don Williams and

Speaker:

you think like, this was country music back in the day.

Speaker:

Yeah, it's so cool.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah, man. I, you know, I listened to those songs

Speaker:

growing up and my, my parents were, were kind of

Speaker:

into southern rock and old country and

Speaker:

it didn't really mean anything to me at the time. But,

Speaker:

um, listening to those songs again as like a,

Speaker:

you know, a songwriter now, you realize

Speaker:

like how awesome it was and like how,

Speaker:

I mean, how great the songs were.

Speaker:

And so, yeah, I'm able to appreciate it at a whole

Speaker:

new level at this age than I did, you know, as a

Speaker:

kid.

Speaker:

>> RB: It's probably like that in golf for you too, right? Like, as a kid,

Speaker:

you're just, we were all little shitheads going out there smacking

Speaker:

balls around and not paying attention. And this sport's

Speaker:

stupid and this, that and the other. Now we're all

Speaker:

in, uh, on golf. And I feel like

Speaker:

golf and country music have a similar,

Speaker:

um, outcome during COVID

Speaker:

Um, you know, country music kind of skyrocketed during COVID

Speaker:

and golf clearly

Speaker:

went nuts during COVID because it was the one sport

Speaker:

people get out there. We all wore face masks. They all

Speaker:

put the little, um, pool

Speaker:

noodle in the hole. So I don't even understand the reasoning

Speaker:

behind that. Um, but I feel like there were

Speaker:

some similarities there.

Speaker:

Has golf always been kind of on your radar

Speaker:

or when you got to Nashville, was that like, all

Speaker:

right, this is my off day, I'm going to go peg it up a little

Speaker:

bit, man.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: I started playing when I was a kid. One of my best

Speaker:

friends growing up, Blake, was, uh, he was always into

Speaker:

golf and really good. He brought me to my first

Speaker:

tournament. I went to the Bell South Classic in

Speaker:

Gwinnett over in Georgia, and watched Tiger

Speaker:

back in his heyday and just got the bug.

Speaker:

And I was terrible. I mean, I played in high school, but our high school

Speaker:

was so small that, like, if you try it out, you made it.

Speaker:

Um, and so I was. You know, I had a

Speaker:

complete baseball swing. Kind of. Kind of still do.

Speaker:

Uh, but it was, uh, you know, like you say. It

Speaker:

was just. I had no idea what I was doing. You

Speaker:

know, anytime I made good contact, it was all luck.

Speaker:

Um, and then, yeah, I couldn't really afford to play

Speaker:

golf for a long time. You know, chasing music down, you

Speaker:

know, you go through, you know, the brokest of

Speaker:

broke periods in your life, so I couldn't afford to play golf.

Speaker:

So, yeah, when I was in Nashville, it wasn't really on my

Speaker:

radar, to be honest. It was something,

Speaker:

uh, I loved, but that I just considered I had no time for.

Speaker:

Um, and then once I started,

Speaker:

we bought a place down here at the lake at the beginning of

Speaker:

COVID And, dude, down here, it was like

Speaker:

Covid didn't exist. You know, in Nashville, we were, like,

Speaker:

in masks and, like, taking tests every time we had

Speaker:

a cough. You come down here. Like, the restaurants were

Speaker:

slammed. There was no pool noodles in the holes

Speaker:

there. It was like.

Speaker:

>> RB: There was no Covid in Georgia.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: No. At least not in this part of Georgia. And

Speaker:

so I just started spending a lot more time here. And

Speaker:

then I got the golf bug bad. I started

Speaker:

playing with one of my buds, uh, Sterling, and we just.

Speaker:

Dude, it. It just. I turned into an

Speaker:

obsession, so I. It became my life

Speaker:

goal. I was like, all right, I've already had success in music. Now

Speaker:

I want to be a scratch golfer. So I started.

Speaker:

>> RB: And how are we. How are we tracking on that right now,

Speaker:

man?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I was.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: I got down to a four last year, and I'm back up

Speaker:

to high sixes this year. You know,

Speaker:

that's just what happens, right?

Speaker:

>> RB: Uh, my man Justin. My.

Speaker:

We got a mutual friend in Justin who I believe gives you lessons.

Speaker:

We talked about that when I saw you at Sage Valley.

Speaker:

Such a good kid.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Oh, man, did you see he almost won the tournament?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I. I saw he posted something. He

Speaker:

was like, what did he. Seven under.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Seven under. And he lost on the third hole of the playoff.

Speaker:

Yeah, I saw that, dude. Our whole club at Cusco Willow

Speaker:

was, like, rooting him on. Like, we were watching it. Me and. We had dinner over at

Speaker:

my buddy's house, and, uh, we were, like, watching it

Speaker:

the whole time. Like, I know he was Bummed to get that

Speaker:

close and not win. But, like, I was like, man, you're there now.

Speaker:

Like, you got the taste of it now, huh?

Speaker:

Yeah, but, yeah, he's a great teacher, and he'll, like, go out on the

Speaker:

course with me and my son and, like, he'll teach us. And

Speaker:

if I play with him, he'll always say, you know, you're coming over the

Speaker:

top or whatever.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, he's, he's, he's great. He's great

Speaker:

people, man. Yeah, I spent some good, good bit of time with

Speaker:

him. He was a Pete Dye Golf Club here in Bridgeport, West

Speaker:

Virginia. So I got to know him for a couple

Speaker:

summers, played in a couple events with him. But I, uh,

Speaker:

think he was at Trump before he came to Georgia.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: I think so. Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Um, if I, if I'm correct, but,

Speaker:

but no, dude, chasing the golf bug, man. It's like, you know, we

Speaker:

do that all the time. And, and for

Speaker:

anybody, whether you're a scratch or you're trying to get

Speaker:

better, I mean, you're always going to sit there and think about

Speaker:

your golf swinger or what I need to do, like,

Speaker:

right now, my whole career of playing

Speaker:

golf, Corey, which has been a long time.

Speaker:

Okay. I'm 38 years old. I probably started

Speaker:

swinging when I was six or eight. I mean, really,

Speaker:

I was. I had strong grip and

Speaker:

I dropped the club under, and I always. My miss was always

Speaker:

these, like, gnarly snap hooks. Um, but

Speaker:

I would. When I would swing the right way, I'd hit a nice

Speaker:

little draw, you know? Nice draw. Well, for the last

Speaker:

three and a half years, I can't hit

Speaker:

a draw with my driver to save my

Speaker:

life. In fact, my driver now is

Speaker:

like, I. I have to set up left

Speaker:

because I know it's pilling, right? And there's times

Speaker:

where it's like, I hate that. And people are

Speaker:

like, oh, man, that's a nice little ball flight you got there. And I'm

Speaker:

like, well, is it really? Because I want to see it going right to left. I

Speaker:

can't get it right. Right to left, dude. It's

Speaker:

unbelievable.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: You would hate Cusco. It's, uh, every hole set

Speaker:

up right to left, I've had to learn how to

Speaker:

hit a. I mean, my natural ball flight is a, uh, is a cut,

Speaker:

just like you and I. I've had to learn how to hit a little

Speaker:

draw just because otherwise I would be in the rough every

Speaker:

time. So it's like.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: But it's so frustrating.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: It is frustrating and always greener. Right?

Speaker:

I look at Guys that hit draws. And I'm like, oh, that's.

Speaker:

That's sweet. But, yeah, I'm the same. I'll hit my little

Speaker:

buttercut. And they're like, oh, man, I love that. I'm like, well, it doesn't

Speaker:

go anywhere.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: You know, And I get reminded often because sometimes I

Speaker:

like to bitch a little bit about, you know, my golf game, and I get

Speaker:

reminded, hey, buddy, you still pay to play, so. What are you talking about? I'm

Speaker:

like, you're right. You're absolutely right. Like, um, I don't make money

Speaker:

playing golf, but. But we care as golfers, you

Speaker:

know? We care.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah, we. We. We always joke from, like, you'd be playing for,

Speaker:

like, five bucks, and your freaking hands are shaking

Speaker:

over the putt, and you're like, this is

Speaker:

$5 putt.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: And I'm.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: It's. But to me, it's, like, so serious, you know?

Speaker:

>> RB: But you walk out on stage with 20,000 people and play a

Speaker:

song.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah, that's easy.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah, it's. It's so funny playing with people

Speaker:

from, uh, other, you know, walks

Speaker:

of life. Your hockey players, your baseball players, your

Speaker:

football players. They get so nervous on the golf course,

Speaker:

and yet they can go play in front of

Speaker:

60,000 people and not bat an eye.

Speaker:

It's because it's so natural to you guys.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah, you're right. There's something about golf, man. It's like. It's so

Speaker:

unforgiving, you know, it just expo. And it's just you against

Speaker:

you.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah, well, and that's the thing, too. Like, again, I go back to

Speaker:

this. Golf aligns with country music. You know, you look at.

Speaker:

Everyone wants to be a part of country music right now. You look at,

Speaker:

um. Man, what's her name? Ella Langley. Just came out with that

Speaker:

rap song with some guy,

Speaker:

um, Wallen.

Speaker:

Yeah, Wallen's with rapper.

Speaker:

You look at the golf thing. Everybody wants to play golf.

Speaker:

All walks of life. NFL players, Major league baseball

Speaker:

players, they all want to play golf. And, uh, it's really

Speaker:

cool to see.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: It is, man. I was watching that creator, uh, classic

Speaker:

earlier today, like, catching up on it. And it was yesterday,

Speaker:

but I was just kind of catching up on it, and I'm thinking,

Speaker:

man, look at all these people out watching YouTube.

Speaker:

Golfers, right?

Speaker:

Um, how cool is that?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: It is. And honestly, I would love to get

Speaker:

a crack at that one day, because I feel like 90 of

Speaker:

them, you.

Speaker:

>> RB: Know, we would say, good. Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I mean, Grant Horvath obviously is. Is a baller,

Speaker:

but.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Um, some of these other Jam Oaks.

Speaker:

Like, I take it. I take him straight up.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah, no, I'm with you. There's no requirement. Like

Speaker:

the. The Bob does sports guys are some of my

Speaker:

favorite. Like, the breezy guys are some of my favorite guys to watch

Speaker:

because they're. I mean, FP is pretty good,

Speaker:

but, like, other guys are like me, you know, they're

Speaker:

just not very good. And you're going like, I

Speaker:

love this. But that's what makes them fun to watch. Because it's.

Speaker:

>> RB: Right.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: It's fun to watch guys that are, uh, you know, you feel like,

Speaker:

oh, I could beat them.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah. And. And I love all the shit they

Speaker:

do. It's. It's actually been great for

Speaker:

golf, like you just said. I mean, that's why. Because

Speaker:

people tune in, pay attention to it. It's really good content.

Speaker:

I mean, I just would love a crack

Speaker:

to play Some of these boys. Me and Pep,

Speaker:

take them on.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Go get in it, dude.

Speaker:

>> RB: Come on.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Uh, I know. Where's the. Where's the applica. Hey, anybody out there

Speaker:

listening? Send me the application.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Hey, I'll be your caddy. I'm a great caddy.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: That's right.

Speaker:

Hey, I saw something interesting today,

Speaker:

uh, and this is totally off topic. We'll get back.

Speaker:

But I was thinking about it. I want your guys opinions or not even

Speaker:

opinions, but you know how motorcycle bikers, man, they're all like

Speaker:

gangs and they're all boys. Like, when a biker passes

Speaker:

another biker, what's the thing they do? They put

Speaker:

their arm out.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: So I always thought, like, I wonder if garbage truck drivers do the same

Speaker:

thing. And finally,

Speaker:

finally today, I'm behind a

Speaker:

big dumpster and the other

Speaker:

dumpsters coming my way, and I'm like, here we go.

Speaker:

Are they gonna fucking dab up right now?

Speaker:

Nothing. Uh, the truck passed by, didn't even

Speaker:

look at the other garbage truck driver. Didn't even care.

Speaker:

But I just always wondered that about these

Speaker:

garbage guys because of, you know, competition.

Speaker:

>> RB: It's like the tight lip head nod that you do. You'll

Speaker:

catch your. You m. From the time we have this

Speaker:

conversation, you will catch yourself doing it a million times a

Speaker:

day where you just tight lip head nod to somebody on the golf

Speaker:

course and it's like.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Or anywhere.

Speaker:

>> RB: Anywhere.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah. If you see somebody with a rope hat on out

Speaker:

of public, that's me.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, you just give them the head nod.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: My daughter drives her crazy. She's like, do you know that

Speaker:

person? I'm like, no, no. It's just like, well, why did

Speaker:

you. What'd you Just do. And I'm like, oh, we're just

Speaker:

acknowledging each other. We're saying, what's up?

Speaker:

He's like, why? You don't know them? I'm like, well, they play

Speaker:

golf. How do you know? I just know.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah, you know. You know,

Speaker:

But I'll tell you that, you know, the golf experience,

Speaker:

Ryan just got to experience, uh, Sage Valley. But,

Speaker:

um, man, what an experience.

Speaker:

Sage Valley is, uh, from

Speaker:

top to bottom, you know, I know that we. We. We

Speaker:

didn't play the big course together. We played the part three together.

Speaker:

And that's a ball. It stays open till 1am

Speaker:

Problem is, if the lights go off, you're screwed. But,

Speaker:

um, that whole setup from top

Speaker:

to bottom is 15 out of 10.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Oh, man, you're right. Yeah. From the second you get there,

Speaker:

like, I. I rolled in, and

Speaker:

I'm like, calling Cole. I'm like, where do I go? And he was like,

Speaker:

you'll see it. And I roll in, and, like,

Speaker:

I open my door, and they're like, hey, Mr. Crowder. And I was like,

Speaker:

how did you know who I was? Uh, and they.

Speaker:

They were like, we. We were expecting you. And then they. They take

Speaker:

my bags. And I was like, where are you taking that? He was

Speaker:

like, we're taking to your cabin. I'm like, how do you. How do you know where I'm

Speaker:

staying? We know where you're staying. I was like, well, uh, at

Speaker:

least.

Speaker:

>> RB: I knew you were going. They didn't know that Neil Walker and I were coming.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: I know.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: They. They not only know where you're staying, Corey, they

Speaker:

know what bedroom to put your in.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: It's wild. I mean, I'm like, how did they know

Speaker:

what size I wore? Like, they had

Speaker:

my size shirt on the bed. I'm like, how did they know

Speaker:

that?

Speaker:

>> RB: We, uh, got none of that, by the way.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah, you got. Y' all got the shaft a little bit, but that made a

Speaker:

Taylor.

Speaker:

>> RB: Well, you let Cole Tyler said, why did you have Cole

Speaker:

responsible for this? And then I looked at Cole

Speaker:

as he was slumping in his chair, and I'm like, you know what? He's

Speaker:

right. Why did I even put this in his hands?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, that's funny.

Speaker:

>> RB: Literally, nobody knew we were coming. I don't even think

Speaker:

the host knew we were coming.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Who hosted you guys?

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: We, um, were just talking about, um, Kip Plowman.

Speaker:

>> RB: Kip? Yeah. Kip Plowman.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Great.

Speaker:

>> RB: He was at the, um. He was at the charity event with Chris Collins. He

Speaker:

rode on the bus with us.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Speaker:

>> RB: That's Kip and his son was a punter at Texas A.

Speaker:

All that stuff, dude. But literally nobody knew we were coming.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: That's hilarious. I forgot about that.

Speaker:

Yeah. Tyler's like, why didn't you. Why didn't you just ask me?

Speaker:

>> RB: Like, we followed up with Cole four times.

Speaker:

We're good. We're good. Yes, you're good. Everybody's good.

Speaker:

Front gate. Didn't know we were coming. Didn't know where we were

Speaker:

staying. We basically slept on the couch because

Speaker:

all the beds are taken care taken. I mean, it was

Speaker:

just. But all in all, all that Aside,

Speaker:

it was 15 out of 10. I mean.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah, man. Getting to play with Fury was cool,

Speaker:

too.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: He, uh, came and played, like, three or four holes with

Speaker:

each group.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Ah, I can't believe, you know, I couldn't believe, like,

Speaker:

A, how cool he was, B, how close he stands to the

Speaker:

ball. That blew my mind.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Close.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: He stands so close to it.

Speaker:

>> RB: So close it.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: But I'm like, oh, maybe I stand too far away from the ball.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah. See what I mean? You start doing like that.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Does he still loop it pretty good?

Speaker:

>> RB: Oh, yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: That swing is so, like, oh, uh.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Dude, I watched him play because. So we get to this

Speaker:

part three, he's playing, and, you know, we watched

Speaker:

him play with, like, the two groups in front of us because it was kind of an

Speaker:

experience. So, like, he kind of built up there at the par threes. We were like, couple

Speaker:

groups. So you, like, watch him. He puts it right of the

Speaker:

hole, three feet. Um, the next group

Speaker:

puts it right of the hole, three feet, Plays with our

Speaker:

group, right of the hole, three feet. You know, you're like, dude,

Speaker:

like, I couldn't hit it in the same spot three times if you.

Speaker:

For a million dollars.

Speaker:

>> RB: So it's in. Dude, he's just slots it every

Speaker:

time, loops it. He's from, uh,

Speaker:

our area here in Pittsburgh, so we had a nice little connection

Speaker:

with. With Jim and Neil.

Speaker:

Uh, drinking some beers. It was cool to hear some stories from

Speaker:

the. From the Ryder cup with Jim.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah, he did that little Q and A. I thought it was, you know,

Speaker:

it was interesting for me is Tim talking about how many

Speaker:

different golf balls are played on tour and how,

Speaker:

like, that impacted his choice on who

Speaker:

put him together, because the

Speaker:

alternate shot, you don't want, like, a high spin ball and a

Speaker:

low spin ball branding with each other.

Speaker:

>> RB: Well, the crazy thing is he said Brian Harmon

Speaker:

still uses a, uh, 2017 Pro V1, so he was having

Speaker:

a hard time getting those balls to ship to other players

Speaker:

to, uh, for them to try out. There was, I think,

Speaker:

uh, 12 guys on the team. I think he said they had 11 different

Speaker:

golf balls.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: That's wild.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: How do you go about getting a ball from 20? Like, you

Speaker:

call Titleists up, obviously?

Speaker:

>> RB: Well, we don't do that. But when you're Brian Harmon, you want to bridge open,

Speaker:

like, Right, that's fine.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Right. They got a little compartment for him, but, I mean, just the

Speaker:

patenting and the. The polyurethane shit that

Speaker:

goes in the ball and, and. And just.

Speaker:

I don't know. That's. That's pretty wild.

Speaker:

>> RB: They probably.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah, you would think. You would think. All their machines are upgraded now, and

Speaker:

they're like. They can't, like, go backwards and

Speaker:

duplicate it.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: That's what I mean.

Speaker:

>> RB: Or they probably shut down production and make

Speaker:

200 dozen for Brian Harmon.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, I played with. I, um, was

Speaker:

playing with a guy on Saturday, and I

Speaker:

got up to green on the fifth hole, and I look at the boss. It's

Speaker:

Trixon. I mean, there's only one guy I know that plays fricks on it's

Speaker:

BCATs, because he used to get them sent bulk for free.

Speaker:

So I'm like. I'm like, hey,

Speaker:

Ry, what's up with the Strix on, bud? Not that I care. I just

Speaker:

was curious. Right. He normally played Titleist. He said, dude, I've

Speaker:

picked up 5 to 10 yards with this ball

Speaker:

off of every club that I've used. He

Speaker:

said, in the field around the green is excellent.

Speaker:

I said, wow, that's impressive. I mean, I know

Speaker:

you got some guys like, what, Koepka and, um,

Speaker:

Matsuyama Hideki uses tricks on. I don't know who else,

Speaker:

but that's just something you don't see, you

Speaker:

know?

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: No, no. And you don't. I. I just

Speaker:

switched over to the Callaway Chrome Tour Triple

Speaker:

Diamond. Have you heard about that ball yet?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: No.

Speaker:

>> RB: Is it lower spin?

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah. So it's kind of like the Pro V1, uh, left

Speaker:

dash. Yeah, it's like their version

Speaker:

of it. But, dude, uh, one of the guys at our club,

Speaker:

uh, one of our pros that works with Justin, told me about it.

Speaker:

He was like, man, I know your game. You need to hit this ball. And,

Speaker:

yeah, like you say, I picked up 5 to 10 yards

Speaker:

and I can't believe it. I mean, it's. You

Speaker:

wouldn't think a ball would matter that much, but

Speaker:

when you set up.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: When you set up to play golf with someone and you see them teeing

Speaker:

it up with a yellow ball, doesn't care about the brand, but you

Speaker:

got someone playing with the yellow ball. I mean, do you take them serious?

Speaker:

No, I can't either. I mean, I understand

Speaker:

people are colorblind, but then again, why are they,

Speaker:

uh, usually above 70?

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: They're usually above 70 years old.

Speaker:

>> RB: Well, and the other thing that, the 70 year old

Speaker:

mark you have. How about all the 70 year olds wearing the

Speaker:

Jordan, uh, ones. Lowe's. I'm like,

Speaker:

what? But let's get you in a pair of foot

Speaker:

joys.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah, I wear the George.

Speaker:

Yeah, I wear the Jordan Lowe's. I'm 42, so I.

Speaker:

>> RB: That's all I wear is Jordan golf shoes. So.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Those are great. Dude, check these out.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Oh, yeah, those are sweet.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Look at that baby.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Is that the new ones?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: That's the prototype.

Speaker:

>> RB: No, they're not even out.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: They're not even out.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Oh, man. Um, I need to get a pair of those.

Speaker:

>> RB: Guy that we've gotten close with, Gentry, he's the.

Speaker:

The VP of Jordan Golf, and he's

Speaker:

Jordan's right hand man. And that's the shoe that they make for Grove

Speaker:

23. And he

Speaker:

brought, uh, me an all white pair, which are amazing.

Speaker:

But then he pulled those out for Bash, and I wanted to. I wish I was

Speaker:

a size eight, because those things.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Three and a half, dude. By the way, they are sick.

Speaker:

In fact, that's why I haven't taken them off my desk. They're kind of

Speaker:

like a placeholder. They've been literally sitting on my

Speaker:

desk.

Speaker:

>> RB: Ben, there's a bunch of checks under there that you just keep

Speaker:

it as like your.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: It's like a paperweight. He's like, are you ever gonna wear those shoes? I'm

Speaker:

like, probably not, but maybe.

Speaker:

I don't know. I don't know. I just bought a pair of

Speaker:

Sambas off Mabo. And they. He's got these cool

Speaker:

shoes. These, these Adidas Sambas

Speaker:

in with golf spikes on them. Now, uh,

Speaker:

they're badass. The only problem is they're like forest green

Speaker:

color, which is kind of dope for fall. But,

Speaker:

um, I just copped a pair of those today.

Speaker:

And, uh, nice play. I'm gonna wear those.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah. My wife. My wife gives me a hard

Speaker:

time for how many pairs of golf shoes I have. It's a real

Speaker:

problem.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Uh, do you, do you

Speaker:

keep them in any specific order? Are they just thrown

Speaker:

anywhere in your garage? Like, how do you keep your shoes?

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Oh, dude, they're everywhere. Um, and I have

Speaker:

them. You know, if it's gonna be a muddy day, I'M wearing a pair that's, you know,

Speaker:

maybe a little bit. A little on their way out, you

Speaker:

know, and then, you know, the clean days, the nice, dry days,

Speaker:

I'm bringing out the fresh white Jordan Lowe's, you know?

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah, yeah.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: If I'm walking the course, like, stage, I'm wearing something

Speaker:

super comfortable, you know, uh, the.

Speaker:

>> RB: The Jordan Revs, the one with the strap over

Speaker:

the top. Have you seen them?

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Oh, yeah.

Speaker:

>> RB: Most comfortable golf shoe I've ever worn.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Really?

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: All right, I'll have to give me a pair.

Speaker:

>> RB: 1,000%.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: I have to get a pair.

Speaker:

>> RB: They're incredible. They grip right

Speaker:

now, so.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: They grip, dude. Like, the. The

Speaker:

spikes in them are, like, real wide.

Speaker:

I mean, you know, if you try to spin out on a shot, you're not

Speaker:

spinning out, but your ankle is going to just go.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah, well, you know, I can't believe how

Speaker:

much grip some of the, like, regular shoes have.

Speaker:

Like. Like the, uh, the

Speaker:

Jordan Lowe's you're talking about. I just got a pair,

Speaker:

um, the other day, and they're. I mean, you could wear them

Speaker:

as, like, shoes, like, just regular. Nobody

Speaker:

would know.

Speaker:

>> RB: Dude, I see so many people. I travel a lot, like,

Speaker:

for work. Walking through the airport, I see so many people.

Speaker:

I'm like, that's a Jordan golf shoe. Like,

Speaker:

and they wear them everywhere. It's hilarious. But it's

Speaker:

nice because you can, literally, if you're in a pinch or something,

Speaker:

you got to make a flight. You can just rock them and nobody's gonna say anything.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: No, yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: They're so awesome.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Well, uh, it's kind of like basketball shoes. People wear basketball shoes for,

Speaker:

like, regular shoes. You know, it's just like, you say

Speaker:

golf's popular now, so they're having to make them for. For

Speaker:

style now.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, it's a great. You know,

Speaker:

I. I love it, man. I, uh, love it. We gotta try to figure out

Speaker:

some time to play some G, though, especially.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Because we got all kinds.

Speaker:

>> RB: Maybe we just meet. Nashville.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah. Or cut. Dude, y' all need to come to Lake Oconee. We got.

Speaker:

So Reynolds, we got seven courses.

Speaker:

Um, Cusco, Will is here. And then I just joined this new

Speaker:

club called the Hideaway that'll be open next year. That's going to be, like,

Speaker:

the best, most exclusive

Speaker:

club at the lake. I mean, it's going to be.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I've heard of that.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: It's going to be like, like, top.

Speaker:

>> RB: Are you anywhere in Nashville?

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: No, I. I, uh. I mean, I spent

Speaker:

so much time here when I'm in Nashville, dude, I'm Usually on the grind. It's

Speaker:

usually like a morning session and that, you know, I'm doing a

Speaker:

dinner at night, um, or going to a show or something.

Speaker:

So I. I mean, I play troubadour sometimes if

Speaker:

I go out. But, um, I played with

Speaker:

Stell over at, ah, Legends.

Speaker:

>> RB: Oh, still Daddy.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Um, uh, earlier this year we played over at Legends, but, like,

Speaker:

you know, that's. I would say that's like few and far between, you know, I'm usually there

Speaker:

to work. I'll save my golfer here.

Speaker:

>> RB: He was my partner at Grove 23. I got him in the

Speaker:

blind draw.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: And, uh, that was great.

Speaker:

>> RB: That's about it. We don't have much to talk about.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: You laughed your ass off. He is

Speaker:

so funny.

Speaker:

>> RB: So funny and so quick.

Speaker:

So too smart, too, because he'll talk to me and I'm like, what

Speaker:

are you talking about? I have no clue what you're talking about.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: He. He at one point had regular sized

Speaker:

clubs.

Speaker:

>> RB: Oh, my God.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: I know. So he came here to get fit, uh, with

Speaker:

Ray at the Kingdom and, um, through

Speaker:

Sean. Yeah, Sean.

Speaker:

>> RB: That's our boy.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: I've taken some lessons from Sean, too.

Speaker:

>> RB: He's a good dude.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Great dude.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Does the Hideaway. Are they going to offer lodging?

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yes. So it's going to be very much like Sage in that

Speaker:

you, uh, can come and it's like the whole experience, you know. So I

Speaker:

think the guy, if I'm not mistaken, the

Speaker:

builder, not the designer, but the builder that

Speaker:

did Sage is doing that course

Speaker:

and they. And so, like, our locker room setup is going to be pretty

Speaker:

similar with, like, the men's grill and all that.

Speaker:

I mean, it's going to be. It's going to be top notch, dude.

Speaker:

>> RB: Between that we got between that new place,

Speaker:

Sage, and then the 21 club that they're building down

Speaker:

near Sage, and then, um,

Speaker:

Tree Farm. I mean, there's so many of these, like, boutique. I'm

Speaker:

calling them boutique country clubs because that's what they are even

Speaker:

in Nashville. The Bounty Club.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> RB: Um, a buddy of mine's in on that Fuj.

Speaker:

And, uh, he had emailed me to docket to see

Speaker:

if I wanted to join. And I saw the price and I said, I'm gonna take a hard pass on

Speaker:

that one. But. But, um,

Speaker:

I mean, he's like, well, you can get your money back. Yeah, that's not the point. It's

Speaker:

about the front side of it.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: He's like.

Speaker:

>> RB: So many, like, boutique country clubs

Speaker:

that are incredible.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Oh, yeah, man. Have you heard of, uh, Old Barnwell down

Speaker:

that way, too.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> RB: They have an owl logo.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Oh, man, that course is sick.

Speaker:

>> RB: I really want to do Tree Farm.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah, I mean, Tree Farm's amazing. Yeah, they. I

Speaker:

mean, they have champions. Uh, retreat down there.

Speaker:

I mean, dude, between here and an hour from here

Speaker:

is stupid. How much golf there is,

Speaker:

that's like, you know, like

Speaker:

championship level golf.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Um, yeah, and I'm looking,

Speaker:

okay, I'm looking for a southern spot to

Speaker:

park. To park my hat.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Um, just come, Come and

Speaker:

come play. Let me show you around. Let me take you to play some golf.

Speaker:

Well, I fall in love with it, man.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah. And I think my lady would really love it too, if there's something

Speaker:

to offer in that regard, too. Not that I, uh, don't want a

Speaker:

country club, dude. I don't want a country club. I don't want, like, some. I

Speaker:

mean, would I. Yes, but I'm saying I want some

Speaker:

vibes. I want a vibe, like,

Speaker:

I don't know. So that sounds good. Maybe. Maybe I'll come mosey on down

Speaker:

there and.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Dude, every time Ray Fulture is here, he's. He's

Speaker:

like, scheming on how he can move here. He's like,

Speaker:

dude, you've cracked the code. This is like the best place on

Speaker:

earth.

Speaker:

>> RB: Okay, I agree.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: I agree.

Speaker:

>> RB: Ray is the best.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: I was like, dude, come down here. We'll make a little music row in Lake

Speaker:

Oconee.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, that, that and all the boys

Speaker:

are from Georgia. A lot of them.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah. Yeah. Oh, yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Hey, before we, uh, wrap this up with you, Corey, I

Speaker:

want to ask you one last question here.

Speaker:

Who was your favorite artist to work with,

Speaker:

and do you see yourself maybe jumping genres at

Speaker:

some point in your producing career?

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Um, maybe. You know, I mean,

Speaker:

I'm always open, you know, when I. You know, I never,

Speaker:

like, I grew up listening to rock and rap, and so

Speaker:

I never imagined that I would land in country.

Speaker:

Um, but I'm. But I'm good at it and I enjoy

Speaker:

it. It's fun. I kind of bring that side to

Speaker:

anything I do. So I would love a chance to like,

Speaker:

make a. A killer rock record one day. Yeah, that would

Speaker:

be really fun for me. I just. There's a

Speaker:

band, there's some of my best friends, and it's band called A Thousand Horses.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Okay.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: You know that band?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I don't want to say I do, but I feel like I've seen it.

Speaker:

I've seen the name.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Well, they had a country. They had a country number one called Smoke.

Speaker:

Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yes. That's it.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah, yeah. And they, and they've had a few others that were like top

Speaker:

tens, but they just, I just wrote, they came down here

Speaker:

to do it and, uh, we wrote it all. But dude,

Speaker:

they're, they're making like a straight 90s rock.

Speaker:

Like.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Oh my God.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Really? Like, it's just gonna be so nostalgic for you if you

Speaker:

like 90s rock.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yes.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Um, and their first song drops Friday.

Speaker:

>> RB: That's sick.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Um, from it. And, and so that was like one of

Speaker:

the most fun I've ever had writing

Speaker:

for a record. Um, I obviously

Speaker:

loved working with FGL because that

Speaker:

kind of brought that element in there a little bit too. And,

Speaker:

uh, those dudes are so fun. And I've known,

Speaker:

I've known Tyler for a long time. So. Tyler was

Speaker:

in, I used to lead youth group when I was in high

Speaker:

school and Tyler was in my youth group. He was in like eighth grade.

Speaker:

>> RB: Wow.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: We go that far back.

Speaker:

>> RB: So you're still tight with him and all that?

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Oh, yeah, him and BKA both. Um, I'm still

Speaker:

super tight with them. And uh, yeah. So that was

Speaker:

like. We went to the Bahamas to make that last

Speaker:

record and to Albany Club. You ever

Speaker:

heard of that one? That, that.

Speaker:

>> RB: Oh, man. Who's there?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: There?

Speaker:

>> RB: I think, um. Oh, uh, he won the British Open.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Tiger's a member.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Darren Clark.

Speaker:

>> RB: Darren Clark.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Timberlake. I mean there, it's a, into

Speaker:

the studio there. Timberlake and uh, Alicia Keys

Speaker:

did. And dude, it was,

Speaker:

that's the most, I don't, I don't think it'll be impossible to top

Speaker:

that record making experience. I mean, we,

Speaker:

we were down there in the Bahamas playing golf,

Speaker:

getting out on yachts, you know, making a

Speaker:

record in like one of the most ridiculous studios I've

Speaker:

ever been in. Um, so that would, that's kind

Speaker:

of like my favorite. You know, if I, if I look at my,

Speaker:

my top tier, the thing to beat. That's the one.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: That's so cool. I didn't

Speaker:

know you, I mean, I knew you were close, obviously, but the fact that he was in

Speaker:

your youth group, that's actually so spectacular.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah, man, it was cool. I, I, I had a, I had a record deal

Speaker:

and Tyler moved to town, uh, to Belmont.

Speaker:

And I was at this thing, they used to call it Grammy Block Party.

Speaker:

It was like they blocked off Demumbrian, uh, Circle

Speaker:

and, and they'd have like, I think the year that this happened, I

Speaker:

think the Civil wars, if you remember them, they were playing.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: And, um, so they're playing and like, I'll Never forget Tyler

Speaker:

coming over and he's like, hey, this is my buddy bk. We're like,

Speaker:

starting a band and crazy. And, you know, and

Speaker:

I'm the one that had the record deal. And then, like, you know,

Speaker:

in two or three years time, we like Flip flop. I had lost a

Speaker:

record deal, and they're the biggest thing ever, you know?

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> RB: But everything happens as we know. Everything happens in this

Speaker:

world for. For a reason. Right? So.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: That's right.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: 90S nostalgic rock. Real quick, check out this band called

Speaker:

Royal Otis. They're out of Australia.

Speaker:

>> RB: Cool.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: And let's write that down.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, seriously, dude. They're. They're two. Two brothers.

Speaker:

But it's. It's awesome.

Speaker:

They're good shit. Anyways. Okay.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: All right, I got something to listen to now.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah. Royal Otis. Um, Tap in

Speaker:

segment coming up here. Corey. Presented by

Speaker:

Betnardi Golf. Check them out online@betnardi.com

Speaker:

Pep's going to ask you some questions. Um, and,

Speaker:

you know, that's how we end the show.

Speaker:

>> RB: All right? One artist that

Speaker:

you want to sit down and write with or have a

Speaker:

cut with can

Speaker:

be passed. Post

Speaker:

Malone. He's the guy

Speaker:

right now. Dream, um, foursome,

Speaker:

Dead or alive.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Ooh, Dream M.

Speaker:

Foursome in golf, I'm assuming.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yes.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Wow.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah, wow.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Tiger woods for sure. John Daly.

Speaker:

Um, and I'm a big. I'm a big

Speaker:

Justin Thomas guy.

Speaker:

>> RB: I love it.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Um, and then, uh, if. If I

Speaker:

could. If I could have an honorable mention. Tony

Speaker:

Finau is the drippiest golfer on

Speaker:

tour. Love his style, love his.

Speaker:

Love his personality. Love that he's a family guy. I'd

Speaker:

love to spend some time with Finaule.

Speaker:

>> RB: All right. We just got to experience a concert

Speaker:

backstage, and it was incredible. So what was. Has been

Speaker:

your best backstage concert

Speaker:

experience?

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Best, um, backstage. Fgl,

Speaker:

Nelly. We were on the back of the bus,

Speaker:

and Nelly was, like, holding court,

Speaker:

telling stories, um, that I won't repeat.

Speaker:

But they were awesome. And, uh,

Speaker:

and there was. There was lots of, uh,

Speaker:

extracurricular things happening on the back of the bus, as you can

Speaker:

imagine, with Nelly. Uh, but. But, man, that

Speaker:

was pretty epic. I mean, growing up listening to, you know,

Speaker:

Nelly, uh, that was in high school. That was.

Speaker:

That was pretty cool.

Speaker:

>> RB: All right, last one. What are you chasing, man?

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: I'm still chasing hits, and I'm chasing, um, I'm

Speaker:

chasing scratch golf.

Speaker:

That's my two goals. More hits and. And to

Speaker:

finally touch that zero mark.

Speaker:

>> RB: Uh, well, good luck to you in all of that, and

Speaker:

thank you so much for your Time.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Thanks, dudes. Appreciate it.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, man. Really appreciate it. Corey.

Speaker:

>> RB: Corey Crowder, thank you so much, my man, for coming on,

Speaker:

taking time out of your busy schedule. It was nice having a

Speaker:

little FaceTime chat with you and catching up on what's

Speaker:

been happening in the last year. Thousand Horses just

Speaker:

came out with their rock and roll songs.

Speaker:

I actually listened to them pretty good.

Speaker:

So, Yeah, I enjoyed it.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: 90S rock, man. Where it's at now. That was

Speaker:

cool. You know, just hearing that whole side of things.

Speaker:

Obviously likes producing more and being behind the scenes a

Speaker:

little bit, and, uh, you know, he knows what the hell he's doing.

Speaker:

I did not share with him my experience of recording an

Speaker:

album. Uh, he would have laughed his ass

Speaker:

off. But it's. It's. That's.

Speaker:

It's a business that so many people aren't,

Speaker:

I guess, kind of privy to, you know, and it's cool that we get to hear

Speaker:

that stuff, man. So, Corey,

Speaker:

thanks for coming on the show, man. We hope you

Speaker:

keep chasing birdies and keep

Speaker:

honing in that game, because we are coming to Georgia.

Speaker:

>> RB: We're coming to Georgia and coming to Georgia chasing

Speaker:

birdies, too, man. Next year. Corey said no

Speaker:

excuses. All right.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Um, but you,

Speaker:

uh. You mess around with fantasy

Speaker:

football at all.

Speaker:

>> RB: No, like. But no, like, that's. What do you

Speaker:

mean? That's not real? That life is not real? Well, yeah,

Speaker:

I mean, but it's fun.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Dude, when you play for 10 bucks. You know what I mean?

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I just figured you being a degenerate, you would.

Speaker:

>> RB: No, but. But I will tell you this much. I'm 2.

Speaker:

0 to start the college football season. I'm taking the

Speaker:

parlay out that we lost, but

Speaker:

I'm 2.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: 0.

Speaker:

>> RB: Uh, for the games.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah. Yeah. Iowa State and Kansas got it done last

Speaker:

weekend, dude. Tonight, though, college kicks off

Speaker:

again.

Speaker:

>> Cory Crowder: Yeah, again.

Speaker:

>> RB: And I'm gonna tell you what, boys. Hammer Texas

Speaker:

this weekend. They are going to

Speaker:

run up and down, throw it all

Speaker:

around. It's gonna be beautiful.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: I, uh, don't. You know. Yeah. Ohio State lost so many players.

Speaker:

It's gonna be. I think it's gonna be tough in them

Speaker:

pick off where they left off, but, you know, naturally they're good at

Speaker:

recruiting players, so. I don't know.

Speaker:

I don't think it's gonna be like that,

Speaker:

but I would give the slight edge to Texas for sure.

Speaker:

Um, Archie, he's starting out, right?

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah, he's starting. I mean, he's only been there for three years or something.

Speaker:

I don't know. Um, he was

Speaker:

the he's number one ranked quarterback. Hasn't played a game yet, but he's number one.

Speaker:

It's funny how that works. There, um, is a king kid. I'm

Speaker:

actually going to go to a game here. Um,

Speaker:

McKeesport, this running back from a key sport, is the number one

Speaker:

running back in the country.

Speaker:

Committed to Penn State. Had five touchdowns last

Speaker:

Saturday.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: No way.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah, I kind of want to go watch them now,

Speaker:

so. Um. But, hey,

Speaker:

we're going to be moseying around Columbus here in a few weeks,

Speaker:

and I'm excited to have a milkshake with you. We don't need

Speaker:

to talk about where we're going going. Just. I'm excited to have a milkshake with

Speaker:

you.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Yeah, I. I will definitely have a milkshake

Speaker:

there. There's no doubt about it. Oh, my God,

Speaker:

dude, I. I know you.

Speaker:

I could not stop laughing at that

Speaker:

Hole in One video of

Speaker:

Wiz. I could not. Dude,

Speaker:

I watched that thing now, naturally, I. I asked him for

Speaker:

permission to send it to me so I could chop it up a bit, little, little bit,

Speaker:

and we could share it on our socials. But, dude, that

Speaker:

video made me so happy. It was

Speaker:

so funny. Like,

Speaker:

I mean, he couldn't get his shirt off there for a minute, and

Speaker:

then I don't know if he was actually gonna take it off. Um,

Speaker:

and then he. The best part about it is he

Speaker:

says out loud, he says,

Speaker:

I never thought that I was gonna have one,

Speaker:

meaning a hole in one, which, you

Speaker:

know, most golfers, you never know, but everyone

Speaker:

always hopes they have one. Everyone always hopes to

Speaker:

have one.

Speaker:

>> RB: Well, Big G doesn't have one, so.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Which is absolutely insane.

Speaker:

That is insane. Your

Speaker:

dad plays how many rounds of golf a year?

Speaker:

>> RB: About 2. 20 a year.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: 220 rounds of golf a year for the

Speaker:

last God knows how many years, and he

Speaker:

has not had one hole in one.

Speaker:

>> RB: M. Not one hole in one.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Oh, uh, my God.

Speaker:

>> RB: But congratulations to James Wisniewski,

Speaker:

um, on that, uh, life is

Speaker:

a highway, baby.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: So I got, uh, I got to play

Speaker:

Nemecollen, uh, on Monday with, uh,

Speaker:

Sam Benardi BCATs. Sam was pegging it up

Speaker:

Tuesday in the, uh, USGA Mid amp qualifier. And,

Speaker:

um, Mystic Rock. I know at this point

Speaker:

now they've already aerated it, started it, so it's closed

Speaker:

for a little bit. But September, October, it's gonna

Speaker:

be rocking because it was great the last week and a half.

Speaker:

So if you guys in the area are looking for

Speaker:

some golf, maybe spend the day, come up to Nemacolan in

Speaker:

Farmington, Pennsylvania. Uh, Mystic Rock, Shepherd's

Speaker:

Rock. The lodging is off the charts.

Speaker:

And that is nemecollen.com. book your stay,

Speaker:

man. Come on up and play some golf.

Speaker:

>> RB: Especially in the fall.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: You gotta do it. I'll tell you what,

Speaker:

you're gonna laugh at me, but, um, you know, I got my last

Speaker:

major of the year in September when I head out to

Speaker:

Pronghorn. And the last video

Speaker:

I saw of Steve Pering was not of him hitting golf

Speaker:

balls. It was of him drinking out of

Speaker:

the Stanley cup in Florida.

Speaker:

>> RB: Yeah.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: So this shows where my partner's head's at right now, leading into the.

Speaker:

What could be the. Who knows? Who knows?

Speaker:

>> RB: That'll be the last one. I mean, let's just end this already.

Speaker:

>> Jonathan: Well, let's see how it goes, you know, I mean. But he's, uh,

Speaker:

been sending me range pictures of him with the range set up.

Speaker:

And we'll see, you know, we'll see what happens,

Speaker:

but should be a good time.

Speaker:

>> RB: Well, buddy, without further ado, everyone

Speaker:

have a killer week. We'll catch you in two.

Speaker:

Hope you enjoyed the the episode and

Speaker:

stay tuned.

Speaker:

We are working with a company on some badass hats

Speaker:

that, you know what, maybe we give them away or we sell them,

Speaker:

whatever. Um, you guys really don't support the.

Speaker:

The cups that much. Cool. Um, but

Speaker:
