Spring is here! This means that there are some big opportunities for you in your boutique. So let's talk about getting your head in the game and what kind of strategy you're going to use this spring in your boutique.

Hi, if we haven't met yet, I'm Emily Benson.I'm a boutique business consultant.I've helped thousands of boutique owners just like you, start, grow, and scale your boutique business.

I also wrote this book called The Retail Mindset. And I know a thing or two about running a boutique business.I've been in retail for over 20 years.I had my own boutique for a while—brick and mortar and mobile. And I realized that there are a lot of mindset shifts that we need to make as boutique owners to be successful. So I cover them in this book.

In this video, I’m going to walk you through some specific mindset shifts that come up in spring. We want to shift how you're feeling about spring so that you set yourself up to make a ton of money.Make a ton of friends. And be successful in your boutique business.

I've always seen a difference between boutique owners who succeed and those who struggle. Those who grow quickly have a completely different mindset. The ones who struggle often worry about sales and come from a scarcity mindset.

Let me jump right into this. You might think, "Mindset doesn’t matter.""I just need the right products.""I just need to post more."

But here’s what we’ve found:We take surveys of everyone who goes through our courses. At the beginning, almost everyone says they need help with strategy or social media. They all say, "My mindset is fine."

But by the end of the course, nearly everyone says…"I never realized how much mindset was holding me back.""I never expected this to be the biggest thing affecting my business."

So let’s talk about these shifts.Because not many people are talking about this. And spring is the perfect time to reset your mindset.

Even though we’re embracing spring in our stores, outside it’s still winter in many places.Where I live, there are feet of snow right now.But I know spring is coming.

That transition from winter to spring happens in our businesses too.We have to mentally move from the slow months into opportunity mode. And yet, I see so much negativity in boutique Facebook groups.

Boutique owners say things like…"January, February, and March are just dead months.""No one is buying right now.""Sales are slow."

But here’s the truth:These months can be foundational for your success the rest of the year.Spring is the time to reset. To clear out inventory. To start fresh.

And most importantly…To remind yourself that YOU are capable of success.I see so many women who feel like imposters in their boutique business. And I’m sick of it.

You belong here. You deserve to build a successful boutique. And this spring, I want you to step into that power.

Create a new vision board.Set fresh goals.Decide that you're going to make powerful pivots in your business.Because you CAN.

Yes, you might feel tired after a busy holiday season.I hope you took time to rest in January. But here’s the thing…You can’t stop taking care of yourself as business gets busier.

I see this all the time in boutique owner groups.Someone posts, "What’s the hardest part of running a boutique?"And the responses are things like…"I work all the time.""I’m never off.""This is a 24/7 job."

But let’s be real.We are not doctors. We are not first responders. No one’s life depends on us answering a DM at 10 pm.

What we DO is important. We bring joy.We bring confidence. We bring retail therapy. But we do not need to work ourselves into burnout.

If you feel like you’re working 24/7, that’s a YOU problem. That’s something YOU need to change. And you can change it.

First, you have to decide:I will not hustle.I will not work nonstop.I will build a business that works for me.

Maybe you have ADHD.Maybe you have anxiety.Maybe you have a full-time job and kids. That’s okay.

You just need a business that fits your life.If you're working full-time and have kids, your boutique schedule will look different.Maybe you only work on your boutique for an hour a day.Or two hours, three days a week.

That’s okay. It’s about setting a schedule that works for YOU.

If you don’t create structure, your business will consume you.And that’s not sustainable.

So this spring, let’s change that.Let’s be intentional.Let’s set goals.Let’s create a business that fits our lives instead of running us into the ground.
