What if the most powerful force a human being can possess is the belief that they were chosen by God to do something? Not hoping, not wishing, not searching for purpose, but knowing at the deepest level of your being that you've been ordained, that an almighty, omnipotent, omniscient, all-intelligent being has commanded you to do something and is bringing forth all of its resources to support you in that effort. Think about what that does to a person. Think about what that does to your nervous system. And think about the level of conviction and certainty that comes when you believe, you truly believe, that God is on your side and has assigned you a mission. That belief makes you unstoppable, not because you're special, but because beliefs become reality. And there is no stronger belief available to a human being than the belief that the creator of all things is on your side. You could even argue that whether God actually exists or not doesn't even matter because the belief itself makes you practically unstoppable. In this episode, I'm gonna show you why that belief is the most powerful thing you can activate and how you can adopt that belief right here, right now. Let's get into it.

Welcome to A Changed Mind.
All right, guys, there are a lot of beliefs that can change your life because your beliefs create your reality. And we know this, but there is a hierarchy to beliefs. And at the very top, the most powerful belief a human being can hold is the belief that God has ordained you to do something. Now, think about what that actually means. An almighty, all-present, omnipotent, omniscient, all-intelligent being has commanded you to fulfill something, and it is bringing forth all its resources to support you in that. Now, that's not just motivation. That's not a pep talk. That is the most potent conviction a human nervous system can hold. And when someone takes on the belief that they're ordained by the creator of all things, their nervous system shifts doubt and worry and fear to certainty, anticipation, and confidence. So fear dissolves, doubt evaporates. They stop operating from survival and they start operating from what I guess what I would call divine certainty. And from that state, they become unstoppable. Not because they're smarter, not because they work harder, but because their belief is so absolute that reality has no choice but to conform to it. Now you could say, but David, I don't believe that God exists, or I don't know that God exists. And I would say, you know, I'm not sure it matters. You've probably heard of the placebo effect. It's the idea that a person or a patient can experience a beneficial outcome from a drug treatment or a medicine, even when what they actually receive is a sugar pill that has no medical benefit. And this phenomenon is a result of someone's belief. It's incredibly powerful. There's even a study done in Finland where they took hundreds of people and they divided them into two groups. One group went in and had shoulder surgery on their torn rotator cuffs. The other group went in under anesthesia and thought they went under surgery, but never actually had the surgery. So they followed these people for 6 months. They reviewed the outcomes and the patients who underwent surgery had nearly identical success rates in terms of shoulder mobility, reduced pain, and overall improvement than the group that never underwent surgery. You know, people say, oh, you can't really heal yourself with your mind. That's just the placebo effect. And it's like, yeah, that's what the placebo effect is. The ability to heal yourself with your mind. Your mind is so powerful that literally whatever you believe becomes your reality, including healing yourself. Well, let's apply this to the idea that you are supernaturally guided and assisted. So whether God exists or not, the person who believes that they're ordained by an almighty force will show up more confident, more courageous, more certain. And it's that attitude of success that creates success itself. You know, John D. Rockefeller, arguably one of the wealthiest and most powerful people on the planet in the early 1900s, accumulated more wealth than entire nations. And before becoming the world's greatest oil baron, he started out as the world's largest manufacturer and distributor of kerosene. Because back then there were no light bulbs. People got light from kerosene in lanterns. And if you study his biography, one of the defining characteristics of Rockefeller was that he believed he was ordained to bring light to the world. And that belief was the root cause of what made Rockefeller absolutely unstoppable. And one of the best examples of this is the story of David and Goliath. Here you have a shepherd boy, young, small, no military training, no armor, no weapons except a sling and a stone. And he walks onto a battlefield against a giant that trained soldiers are afraid to face. Why? Not because David was brave, not because he was strong, but because he had a conviction that God was on his side. Full stop. David didn't hope he could win. He didn't try to win. He knew with absolute certainty that his victory was inevitable because he was operating inside of God's assignment. What he says that day on the battlefield shows so much conviction and faith that it literally gives me the chills. Imagine this. He's standing with his army behind him and the armies of the Philistines behind Goliath. Just the two of them are on the battlefield. Goliath is laughing at how ridiculous the matchup is. But David steps forward, and with full conviction, he says, you come to me with a sword, a spear, and a javelin, but I come to you in the name of the Lord Almighty, whom you have defied. This day, the Lord will deliver you into my hand, and I will strike you down and cut off your head that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. When you believe that God has sent you, that God is with you, the Goliaths of your life don't stand a chance. That's why we have these examples in scripture. They're not fairy tales. They're demonstrations of what becomes possible when a human being is fully aligned with the mission they were ordained to fulfill. And this is the story of every person who's ever done something extraordinary in this world. They stood in the face of impossible odds with a conviction that came from somewhere beyond themselves. The world looked at them and said, hey, you're crazy. You're delusional. Who do you think you are? But they knew something the world didn't. They knew they were sent. And so now let's talk for a second about the idea of being sent on a mission or what we might describe as having a purpose. See, most people think they have to go find their purpose. They have to seek it out, so they become seekers. But there's a big difference between seeking and knowing that you were sent. So what if your purpose isn't actually something you discover? What if it's something that was assigned to you before you even got here? See, most people are wandering through life hoping to stumble onto their calling, but the people who change the world, the prophets, the dreamers, the innovators, they have a knowingness that they were sent. And they know that they were assigned to a specific purpose in this life. And I believe that every person has a purpose, something I call a spiritual vision, something you came here to do. Now, I feel I have my spiritual vision. I'll share that with you in a moment. There was certainly a good chunk of my life where I didn't feel ordained or called or feel like I had been assigned something. But one of the things that I've observed after 10,000 coaching conversations with leaders and visionaries and entrepreneurs and high performers is that there are two programs that every person comes into life installed with. One is this question, why am I here? You ever find yourself asking that question? Like, why am I here? What's my purpose? What's my why? It's this burning existential question that once you step out of your day-to-day worries and you start clearing your mind and you start, let's call it awakening, right? It becomes a burning desire. We all want to know what we are here to do. And then there's the second program, which is our greatest fear. Some people say that our greatest fear is that we won't be loved or that we are more powerful than we could have ever imagined. I respectfully disagree with those. What I've seen is that your biggest fear is that you won't achieve your full potential, that you're going to get to the end of your days and look back at what you could have done and realize you didn't do it. Now you can check in with yourself. Let me know in the comments if you think I got that right. But on one side, we have this burning desire to know what we're meant to do here, and on the other, a fear that we won't achieve it. And this is actually what drives us forward into our hero's journey or our spiritual journey. When you experience this tug of war between those two, I want you to know that that's actually a really good thing because that desire and that conflict is what opens up the portal or the doorway, or gives you the clarity to begin to understand what you came here to do. It's like, that desire and that conflict within you sends off a vibration and the universe responds with an answer and you start getting clues. And the amazing thing is that when you look back, you can see that life has left clues the whole time. Like I look at my own life and when I was a kid and my teacher asked me what I wanted to do when I grew up, my answer was not to be a firefighter or a policeman or an astronaut. I said I wanted to be George Washington. Not a usual answer, but even as a kid, I was drawn to freedom and look at the work that I'm doing today. My spiritual vision, my purpose, my why, what I came here to do, helping people free their minds so they can have freedom in their lives. And you look at the suffering that I experienced that led me to my drug and my alcohol, my sex addiction that eventually led me to 12-step recovery, that led me to personal growth. All of that was intentional so that I could learn how to transform my own personal suffering and now help millions of other people do the same. and it seems like, at least for me, I know this to be true, that there was a divine guiding hand in all of it. Like when I look back, it's not some random chaos theory. There was something guiding me. Of course, today I have what I consider to be a deep personal relationship with the God of my own understanding. But even if I just look at it, it certainly wasn't random. And so what I'm saying is, is you have a spiritual vision. Maybe you know what it is, maybe you don't. That's okay, because if you don't and you're in this conversation, guess what? It's on the way. But you have a purpose. You have a calling. And when you realize that there is a divine hand guiding that and guiding you, then you start to stack these components that make you an unstoppable force for good in the world to achieve the purpose that you came here to fulfill. Now, let's talk about why this actually works, not just spiritually, but neurologically. When you believe that God has ordained you, when that belief is felt in your body, not just thought in your mind, when you're not doing the work for you, but you're doing the work on behalf of something greater, your entire nervous system begins to restabilize and reorganize. So you start shifting away from what I would call a primal state, scarcity, fear, worry, doubt, into a powerful state, certainty, trust, authority, divine confidence. And from that powerful state, You're a different person. You make different decisions. You are the one to fulfill on what you promised to do. So you take different actions, you show up differently, you speak differently, people respond to you differently. And so reality responds to you differently. So a nervous system in survival mode is not creative. It's reactive. It negotiates, it waits for permission. It never gets on the battlefield, but a nervous system in divine certainty, it is creative. It commands. It acts from assignment, not from a place of duty, not fear. And this is what I mean when I say it doesn't even matter whether God exists, because the belief that God exists and has ordained you produces such a profound neurological shift that your reality has to change because you're no longer broadcasting fear. You're broadcasting certainty, and the field reflects your broadcast. And when you understand that God is not somewhere way off out there, a God that you have to vie for its attention, you have to pray and scream loudly and hope that it hears you, but that the God power is within you and can be activated at any point in time through the power of your declaration. You stop begging and you start commanding. Not commanding God, but commanding reality as God's agent. I am here on behalf of the Almighty. Doing the work that I was assigned. So your inner conversations change. You stop thinking, well, I hope this works out. And you start thinking, well, it's already done. And because that feeling of doneness is felt deeply, and it's like you're just waiting for reality to catch up, you feel it in your body, you feel it in your nervous system. The outer world has to conform to it because that's the way reality works. And so you're not a mere mortal hoping for favor. You are the divine favor expressed as a human being. So where most people go wrong is that they want proof before they're willing to believe that God is on their side, that they're ordained. But the evidence appears after the faith is established, not before. The invisible always precedes the visible. And this is what faith actually means. It's not blind hope. It's not wishful thinking. It's knowing in your body that what God has assigned to you is already done in the fourth-dimensional reality. It just hasn't crystallized into the third dimension yet. And so your job is not to go out and create proof. Your job is to hold the faith. And as you persist in holding the faith, as you keep showing up as someone who knows what they're here to do and who they're here to do it on behalf of, your vibration changes, your frequency changes. And so that potential is created and materialized into your physical experience. Like it says in Hebrews, faith is the substance of things hoped, not hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. There will always come moments when you're tempted to doubt, and frankly, that's where most people fold. They're like, hey, where's God? I haven't heard from God recently. They feel like God has abandoned them, especially during the challenges and the tribulations. And they think having challenges and obstacles means that they weren't chosen. But the reality is, is that the challenges and the obstacles prove that you're chosen because they're preparation. So they are the resistance training that's put before you so that you can become the person capable of fulfilling on your promise. You think about, again, David before Goliath. He was a shepherd boy. He fought a lion. He fought a bear. Those weren't random mistakes. It was training. God was preparing him for the giant. In fact, every obstacle in your life is God preparing you for your giant, for your next level of your assignment. Now, of course, as you go through this process, your mind is going to complain, right? Why is this happening to me? But the God in you knows that this is part of my preparation. And so here's what I want you to walk away with. I want you to hear me when I say that your victory is inevitable, that God is on your side, that no matter how things feel or look right now, you are ordained, not because you're special in some superior sense, but because life has singled you out for an expression that no one else can fulfill. But you. There is something within you that only you can bring into this world. That's why you came. Otherwise, you wouldn't be here. But it's important for you to understand that in order to activate that within you, you have to decide. You have to step into the conviction that you were sent, that your mission is real, that God is orchestrating on your behalf right now. Who your God is doesn't matter. The God of your own understanding, your higher power, could be nature, the universe, God, Jesus, Allah, whatever it is. But when you do, when that belief locks in at the level of your nervous system, not just your mind, you're going to see hesitation begin to dissolve. Fear starts to become irrelevant. Does it go away? No, but it no longer drives the bus. And you begin to walk through this world with this quiet, unshakable power of someone who knows that the creator of all things is behind them. You stop looking for your mission and you realize you are the mission. And that your victory is inevitable. Now you just have to act like it.
