Hello, everyone, everywhere.
Pastor BobPastor Bob Thibodeau here.
Pastor BobWelcome to the Faith Based Business podcast for tonight.
Pastor BobWe're so blessed you're joining us as every time we get together to do this, I just get all excited.
Pastor BobPraise God.
Pastor BobI guess you can tell because I like talking with my hands.
Pastor BobAmen.
Pastor BobBut we want to talk about, and we've been talking all week about storytelling.
Pastor BobAmen.
Pastor BobAnd storytelling, it isn't just an artist.
Pastor BobIt's a science deeply rooted in human biology.
Pastor BobAnd we learned that last time that in today's fast paced digital world, storytelling has to adapt to shorter attention spans and diverse platforms.
Pastor BobAmen.
Pastor BobModern audiences crave stories that are authentic and concise and visually engaging.
Pastor BobAnd today I want to talk about.
Pastor BobI'll tell you what, let's go ahead and share this screen here so we can jump over here and take a look at it.
Pastor BobAmen.
Pastor BobBut today I want to talk about turning everyday moments into inspiring stories.
Pastor BobAmen.
Pastor BobBecause, you know, these things help hold profound truths just waiting to be uncovered.
Pastor BobAnd, and from a morning walk to a conversation with a good friend, simple moments, they simply, deeply resonate when framed thoughtfully for your audience.
Pastor BobYou know, observing the details and ordinary life will sharpen your storytelling skills.
Pastor BobYou need to practice.
Pastor BobYou need to, you know, like if you see a bird fly through, just try and describe that to someone who, you know, pretend, hopefully someone who is blind and can't see.
Pastor BobTry sharing what that bird looked like as it was flying and that'll help you to, to be able to develop the story and learn how to do that.
Pastor BobIt'll, it'll enable you to, to draw on universal truths just from your personal experiences.
Pastor BobYou should be able to draw on everyday things and, and learn how to weave an interesting story with almost zero preparation.
Pastor BobAmen.
Pastor BobSometimes the things we share just off the cuff, those are the ones that resonate with the audiences the most.
Pastor BobAmen.
Pastor BobThink about if you were at a meeting and someone said, bob, you got a story about that, come on up here and tell us about it.
Pastor BobAnd you weren't on the schedule, you weren't on the agenda, you weren't prepared for it, would you be able to go up on that platform and for the next seven to ten minutes, hold the audience's attention and provide meaning and insight into your narrative?
Pastor BobThat's the type of thing you should be able to do.
Pastor BobAmen.
Pastor BobFor example, Jesus probably seen a farmer sowing seeds and you know, he's sitting there ministering to this crowd and he started to use that illustration.
Pastor BobThey could look over their shoulder and see this guy out in the field, right?
Pastor BobAnd he used that illustration with what was has become now known as the the Sower sows the word Amen.
Pastor BobSharing your ability to notice storytelling details in everyday life will definitely move your speaking ability to the next level.
Pastor BobCrafting relatable narratives that builds stronger connections with your audience as they can see themselves in your story.
Pastor BobEven mundane events can teach profound lessons when approached with intention.
Pastor BobAnd using everyday stories to impart complex lessons or principles makes it easier to understand.
Pastor BobBy finding inspiration in small moments, you can create stories that inspire and engage your audience in deeply meaningful ways.
Pastor BobAnd stories that will be remembered long after the event happened.
Pastor BobJust like the story of the Sower sews the word Amen.
Pastor BobWe've been talking about this for 2000 years and guess what?
Pastor BobEvery time we tell it, you can picture that person sowing the sea, some falling on the rocks, some falling on the hard path, some falling in the weeds.
Pastor BobAnd then some make it into the good ground.
Pastor BobAnd you picture the birds coming in and eating the seas and the weeds grow up and choking out the plant.
Pastor BobYou picture this 2000 years later, we can still make that a relevant story.
Pastor BobThat's the type of story you need to tell about everyday things in your life.
Pastor BobIt could be something simple like driving down the highway and somebody cut you off.
Pastor BobIt could be something simple like you were walking up into the grocery store and you seen someone cut somebody off and it made them spill their basket or whatever the case may be.
Pastor BobYou can relate it to your stories.
Pastor BobAmen.
Pastor BobHallelujah.
