Speaker B

Wouldn't it be amazing if on those days where you're exhausted and you're feeling a little sick, maybe, or maybe you're just not feeling it, you could just stay at home and have no responsibilities for the day and sleep in and then wake up and have a really nourishing breakfast and go out on the front porch.

Speaker B

Obviously, it's not raining.

Speaker B

The sun is shining.

Speaker B

It's a perfect, like, 76.

Speaker B

You've got a book.

Speaker B

Maybe you go ground your feet in the grass for a little bit and then take a little nap in a hammock.

Speaker B

That'd be great, wouldn't it?

Speaker B

Well, unfortunately, we live over here in the real world, and sometimes no matter how much we plan or how much we organize or how much we prepare, people get sick.

Speaker B

We are unexpectedly exhausted because we didn't sleep the night before, or we get so many things thrown at us that our to do list feels.

Speaker B

Feels like an actual joke, and we still have to show up as our best selves.

Speaker B

So what do we do in those moments?

Speaker B

How can we have some quick moves and quick wins to kind of just get us back in the.

Speaker B

In the movement, get us back in the game?

Speaker B

Well, I have been fine tuning these next three moves for myself the past year or so because there are definitely days where I don't feel like showing up and I don't want to show up, and I'm in a bad mood, and I want to lay in bed all day with my heating pad, and I want to watch Emily in Paris, and I don't want to do anything else, but I have made promises to myself prior, and I'm like, you know what, Blakely?

Speaker B

You made a promise to yourself.

Speaker B

You're gonna feel worse if you don't show up.

Speaker B

So here are three things that you can do.

Speaker B

If maybe you're having one of those days or one of those weeks or maybe even one of those months where you're just not feeling it, you don't want to do it, you've got too much to do, and you would rather just do nothing.

Speaker B

Here are three moves that you can do when everything feels like it's Falling apart.

Speaker B

Okay, move number one, collapse your list to the core three.

Speaker B

So you might already have a running to do list.

Speaker B

And if you do, great.

Speaker B

But if you don't do a three to five minute brain dump and just get everything in your brain out, it doesn't have to be a full brain dump.

Speaker B

And we're not categorizing everything, we're just getting everything out.

Speaker B

And then I want you to ruthlessly pull only three non negotiables.

Speaker B

This might sound easy when you hear it, but when you've got a page full of things that you have to do and everything is screaming at you, and originally you look at the list and you go, there's no way I can narrow this down to three.

Speaker B

It's going to be really hard.

Speaker B

But I promise you, if you pick three, it is going to help you in so many ways.

Speaker B

It's going to create momentum for you.

Speaker B

It is going to give you a little confidence boost to go, you know what?

Speaker B

I didn't feel like doing that, but I did it and now it's done and it's going to restore your power.

Speaker B

You know, I don't know about you, but there are some times where there I'll procrastinate the craziest thing.

Speaker B

Like, it'll be something so small, but I'll just keep procrastinating it and then I'll procrastinate to the point of like, embarrassment where I'm like, okay, I have like, this would literally take me 15 minutes.

Speaker B

And I know I'm fully capable of doing it, but I have put it off so long now that when I follow up with the person who's waiting on me, I'm like, I'm embarrassed by it.

Speaker B

And that makes me procrastinate even more.

Speaker B

But when I just get the thing done, it does restore your power.

Speaker B

It's like, okay, I can like, find finally stop worrying about that small, teeny weeny, teeny tiny task that literally took me 15 minutes.

Speaker B

And I've been stressing out about it for the last month.

Speaker B

So do that brain dump.

Speaker B

Pull your three non negotiables and make sure that those get done.

Speaker B

Now obviously you can go back to the list and add more.

Speaker B

But, like, if you were like me, sometimes I have such a finite amount of mental energy for the day that I'm like, this might be the only three things that I get done today.

Speaker B

And that just has to be okay because there's going to be those days where we are at zero and we still have to show up.

Speaker B

And sometimes Doing the bare minimum is all that we can do.

Speaker B

And we want to make sure that we're intentional with that bare minimum.

Speaker B

And we're doing things that actually move the needle, that are actually impactful, and we're doing things that are intentional.

Speaker B

We're not just doing things that are screaming at us.

Speaker B

We're not doing things that feel urgent.

Speaker B

We're not doing something just because somebody's texting us or blowing our phone up and asking us for whatever it is.

Speaker B

Like, they can wait.

Speaker B

We are doing the things that are critical for us to get done.

Speaker B

Okay, quick move number two is choose one anchor.

Speaker B

You do not need a full morning routine where you're doing an ice bath and you're drinking your greens and you're running 10 miles.

Speaker B

You also don't need a full evening routine where you're in the sauna and you're guasha and you're doing all the things.

Speaker B

I don't disagree with all those.

Speaker B

Like, I think all of that is great.

Speaker B

However, there's some days where I'm like, I can't do anything, but my mind is so frazzled, I need something to ground me.

Speaker B

And so what I've been doing is, at the end of my work day, I'll take a shower, and then I will set a timer on my phone.

Speaker B

I'll turn my heating pad on.

Speaker B

I'll lay it down on my bed, and then I will just lay in bed for 10 minutes.

Speaker B

I won't have my phone in there.

Speaker B

I won't have the TV on.

Speaker B

I will just lay and I'll check in with myself, and I'll be like, how are you feeling?

Speaker B

And normally I'm like, you probably need to drink some water.

Speaker B

Or, like, here.

Speaker B

Lately, my hand has been hurting, and I was, like, so busy for a little while, I didn't even notice it.

Speaker B

And then one day, like, when I was doing my grounding in bed, my hand was like, hey, could you, like, maybe get a mouse pad for it?

Speaker B

So it's like.

Speaker B

It's just those moments where I feel like, at least for me, sometimes I get so busy, I just go through the motions during the day, and I don't stop and check in with myself.

Speaker B

And I don't stop and check in with, like, hey, I'm really tired.

Speaker B

Or like, hey, I'm really stressed out about this thing and I'm not admitting it to myself, or, hey, what they said really hurt my feelings.

Speaker B

So just taking that time to ground myself and anchor myself in one small part of the day really helps.

Speaker B

So much.

Speaker B

It alleviates my anxiety and it just allows me to go, okay, I have been in my head way too much today.

Speaker B

I need to come back to reality.

Speaker B

I need to come back to the real world.

Speaker B

I need to like love on my people and just stop thinking non stop for just a little bit.

Speaker B

And that really kind of helps me just get back to somewhat level.

Speaker B

And then number three, watch the way that you are speaking to yourself.

Speaker B

This goes back to making sure that you're being grounded because I find that when I am just running like a crazy person and I haven't worked out or I haven't gotten enough sleep or I haven't been eating well, the way that I speak to myself will get really toxic.

Speaker B

Like I'll like tell myself non stop, oh, I'm lazy.

Speaker B

Oh God, Blakely, really, you couldn't do that?

Speaker B

Like, why didn't you freaking get that done?

Speaker B

Like, you had so much time, you know, like my self talk will get really, really, really negative.

Speaker B

And if I'm not careful, I'll be in that cycle for a couple of days.

Speaker B

And so just make sure that you're monitoring the way that you're talking to yourself.

Speaker B

So reframe it and tell yourself, like, okay, I'm not failing, just really busy right now.

Speaker B

Like, this is a.

Speaker B

This is stressful.

Speaker B

This would.

Speaker B

This is normal to be stressed.

Speaker B

It's okay.

Speaker B

I am not going to resist it.

Speaker B

I'm going to admit it to myself that, like, hey, I'm not feeling great today.

Speaker B

I'm feeling a little stressed out, but this is a hard season and I'm gonna get through it.

Speaker B

And I always like to tell myself, you know, like, I am capable of anything.

Speaker B

I really, truly believe that.

Speaker B

I think this is how delusional I am.

Speaker B

This is like my level of delusion.

Speaker B

I think if you gave me six months and like it was the only thing I had to do, I could do anything.

Speaker B

I think that I could like, become a really good basketball player.

Speaker B

I could learn how to surf.

Speaker B

I could learn like quantum physics.

Speaker B

Like, I truly am so delusional that I truly think that.

Speaker B

And so, you know, maybe, maybe be a little delusional and be like, you know what, girl, you were just beyond.

Speaker B

You are so powerful and you can do anything.

Speaker B

And I like to remind myself too that God is testing me and he is pushing me and he is challenging me and he has bigger things coming up for me than I could ever imagine and he's just preparing me for those things.

Speaker B

So just be careful how you talk to yourself.

Speaker B

Make sure that you are communicating to yourself in a positive way and that the way that you're speaking to yourself isn't making it worse.

Speaker B

Because I'll be super honest, there were seasons of my life, and when I say seasons, I mean years where I was the hardest person on myself and it made everything so much harder.

Speaker B

Whereas now I'll talk to myself and I'll be like, girl, this is a lot.

Speaker B

Like, we got a lot going on.

Speaker B

You're stressed and it's okay.

Speaker B

But we're going to get through it because we're a boss babe and we're a soft girly.

Speaker B

We're all the things and we can do it all.

Speaker B

And those three things have really been helping me.

Speaker B

So collapse your list to the core 3.

Speaker B

Choose a anchor ritual, whatever works for you.

Speaker B

And then just watch the way that you speak to yourself.

Speaker B

You don't have to be like, oh, just a little pat on the back for me today.

Speaker B

You might have to, you know, figure out how you need to talk to yourself, but just monitor that and just make sure you're not in a loop of negative self talk, because that can really.

Speaker B

That can really lead to very unproductive places.

Speaker B

And to me, it can make a difficult season much more difficult.

Speaker B

And just remember that you don't need the perfect day to make progress.

Speaker B

You just need to show up as the best version of yourself.

Speaker B

Sometimes that's going to look watered down compared to those days where you are just on top of a mountain, and that's okay.

Speaker B

The important thing is we just keep moving forward and we give ourselves as much grace as possible and we learn from our lessons and we keep on rocking and rolling.
