Hey everybody. Welcome back to another edition of the Daily Bible Podcast. What's up folks? Happy Monday. It is Monday the last week of 2025. Last week. Yep. New Year's Eve coming up. That's right. And fast and furious. By the time this rolls out, you're gonna be in Utah. Are you going Wyoming? Not, no. No. We'll be in California hopefully. By the time this drops, we'll be on the road still, but yeah, that's what I'm saying. It'll be. On your way to California, New Mexico, Arizona, California. You guys have a place that you stop regularly? 'cause you've done the trip multiple times. We have. We hit El Paso day one. Yeah. And then we Do you stop anywhere? Make the rest of the way. Obviously you sleep somewhere, but do you go anywhere? Not really. We stop along the way. We've got our drive broken end to three hour shifts, but Okay. So Annie does three. She still is, jock does three. Yeah. Luke jumps in at some point. Yeah. That's great, man. Yeah, we've gotta sleep somewhere on the trip and they can take it. That's great. Yeah, so I have heard great feedback. Have you people love and I even heard that people are selling them on eBay. And Abe for hundreds of dollars because you're just so valuable. Everybody wants to know the story behind our Christmas ornaments this year, the Christmas ornaments, and I would love for you to explain your ideas behind this, your vision for why you wanted do. Whoa whoa. See, I think, I believe the way this went down is if you guys are gonna do this, I need total plausible deniability, so I'm not gonna be involved in this one. And it is plausibly deniable. I'll give you that. Yeah. This was my idea. And the heart behind it. And I think we hit it. I think we hit it. Is a, it's funny 'cause nobody expects it. And two, every time PJ's face on your tree, it reminds you to pray for your pastor. 'cause he has a large burden on his shoulders. It's a good thing. Okay. Okay. But we didn't hand these out to the whole church. We did not. They are a secret collector's item. So we only made a limited rut. And in fact, if we did hand it out to the whole church, I don't know if we would've done it 'cause it. Not everybody knows you as well, right? And has the relationship that would make sense. But for those who did get it that was the idea behind it, we want you to see it and pray for your pastor. That would be really helpful. Because otherwise it might feel self-serving, self-aggrandizing, all of these things that someone might assume when they're like, really, the senior pastor gave me an ornament with his face on it himself. It is by far one of my favorite things we've done this year. Do you even think Joel Osteen has given his church an ornament with his face on it? Probably. Probably your best life now. Yeah. Smiling with his fake teeth, with a printed signature on it, maybe. No, I would not put it past him, but ours is meant to be an endearing. You know what? We might have some extras, so if you happen to want some for yourself and you wanna start a collector's edition, maybe we could be, we could let some go. I think we have a couple left. Do we? I think we do. Are you sure? Yeah. And if not, I can do another run if that's popular. Really? If people want it, man, we're just outta budget this year for that. I can't think that we can. January one's around the corner. I'll save it. I'll pre-order it for 2026. I'll next year's Christmas ornaments that. I'll order both so that we save on both sides. You're right. Good idea. Anyways, we had some fun Christmas. My goal is to make it bigger every year. Is it really? So not only so zooms in on your photo, I don't think it becomes larger. By the time we hit 15 to 20 years in our church life, it'll be six foot large. Can we talk about this? 'cause this is still a total mystery to me, which I know that you know what's behind this. If you're listening, obviously you can't see what Look, your feed I'm holding in my hand, I guess a plastic that's por Is it porcelain or plastic? It's not porcelain. It's not porcelain. This is plastic. It is a cat ornament and it has a red scarf tied around its neck and a. Santa hat and it was, it showed up mysteriously, writ wrapped. Double wrapped weird. Even on my desk. Weird. Yeah. I don't know, man. That's weird. You don't know where this is from. Such a weird providence. I think the Lord gifted it to you. It was hecka in China, so Joe, yeah, we so Kristen and I were doing some shopping at Walmart for Yeah. Different people. It was, I don't know, a month, two ago. Yeah. At this point. And I saw the cat and I thought it's Pastor pj. That you saw this in Master pj? I said I have to get it for him. Because that reminds me of Pastor pj. It's, I almost saw your face on the cat. Did you? It was a pretty mystical spiritual experience. So anyways December 29th, we've got the new year right around the corner, but we are still finishing up our DBR, including. The next section of the book of Revelation that we are in today, which is gonna take us all the way through chapter 11. Man, that's a lot of reading today. That's a lot of reading. It's a short chapter yesterday, so It's a lot because it's dense. Yeah. It's not that long, right? It's dense. So this is where getting your pencil out, your pen out, whatever it is, and beginning to write down some of the numbers and the margins, like I talked about yesterday, is gonna come in handy. We are. Picking up in chapter six with the opening of these seven seals, although not all, seven of them, not yet, at least we're gonna get through the first six of them in chapter six. Seal number one, we are gonna get all of these different horses and the white horse is going to come out and this is the one that's come out given the power to conquer, into rule and then you've. In the second seal, a red horse, which is going to bring war upon the earth. The third seal, you get a black horse that's gonna bring famine upon the earth. The fourth horse is a pale horse. Fourth seal, a pale horse. And this is death. And even a Hades follows after. And then when the fifth seal is opened it's not a judgment seal, but rather it's shifting the focus up. Back to heaven. And we see those that are the martyrs those that are the ones that are slain for their testimony, their faith in God's word, and the witness that they had born that says that in verse nine there. And they're calling out, asking for justice to be done, and they're told to wait a little longer until all of their fellow servants that is the rest of the martyrs during the tribulation period should be added to their number. And then finally in chapter six, we get this sixth seal, which is broken, and there's a great earthquake in the Sunday. Comes black as sackcloth. The moon turns in like blood. So you get all of these celestial signs as well. And there's the announcement that the great day of their wrath has come and that should call to mind the day of the Lord that we read about even in the Old Testament, in the book of Joel primarily as well as a couple of others. Okay, so let's back up before we go forward here. Yeah. I wanna make sure everyone's on the same page with you. We are looking at the seals that we're securing the scroll that Jesus himself. Had just received he was told he, John was told that Jesus was the lamb who was worthy to break the seal on the scrolls. Okay. And that's where chapter six comes in. And from chapter six, seven and through eight, those seven seals are being broken. But we have this really weird I guess intermission this weird section where you have the 144,000 witnesses, but. What do these seals represent? Are we looking at the tribulation as we understand it? Is this the beginning of the tribulation, the first three and a half years? What are we looking at Yeah. In your understanding? Yeah. My understanding is this is indeed the tribulation period. This is the period of time the seven year period of time wherein God is going to bring judgment upon the earth. He's gonna judge Israel and it's gonna be a purging judgment of Israel, and there's gonna be redemption that's gonna come outta that. And that's where he goes in chapter seven with 144,000. But this is the tribulation period that the pouring out of the. Adds wrath upon the earth during this season. Okay, so the tribulation, then we believe that the church is off the scene. Yes. The church is raptured not there. Thessalonians four. So we, if you're part of the we, the church we believe that we are raptured up with Christ. We are with him in heaven awaiting. For him to return. Until then you have the beginning of the tribulation, which is a time of great distress. Time of great destruction, God's judgment on creation. And that's initiated with the seven Seals. And just to be clear, a big overarching view here, the Seven Seals contain, or the seven Seal contains the seven trumpets, and then the seven trumpet contains the seven bowls. Yep. So there's lots of Russian nesting eggs here that you're gonna have to keep track of, but the seven seals initiate. In our understanding The Tribulational period. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, it's cascading. So chapter seven, then we do get this interlude, and that's because of the judgment that's being poured out. God is gonna preserve a remnant form himself, a remnant of Israel. We go back even to Romans, when Paul's talking about the fact that there is a future for Israel, that there's gonna be a part of Israel that's grafted back into the root. And here we see it, it's gonna be 144,000. And in the text it says 144,000. So I think there's gonna be. 144,000. And he goes in and he describes that there's gonna be 12,000 from each of the 12 tribes that are represented in this number. There. And they are going to be those that, that God preserves. He's gonna protect them, and they're gonna be kept from the judgment that is coming from him as he pours out his wrath upon the earth. They're gonna be protected from some of the the locusts that we're gonna see later on. Some of the disease the hail, the storms the. Judgements that are coming from God, they're gonna be protected from those things. Any ideas why Dan and Efrim are replaced in the 12 tribes by Joseph? I try Joseph and Levi. Levi. Levi has given a portion, even though they didn't have a portion under the old Covenant. Dan I, Dan was. Dan was a jerk. In some Yeah. Idol he was the hub of idol worship under ome during the divided Kingdom. OME made Dan one of his main cities there and the Dan Knights, the tribes up there. That would be my best guess on that. Yeah. And then Joseph. Replacing Ephrem. That one makes a, at least a little more sense. Yeah, because Joseph had Ephrem and Manas, they were his kids, and so I don't know, maybe then the more prominent name takes Centerfold here. The one that would be challenging for me is Dan because the gifts and calling of God are irrevocable. Yeah. I believe that his calling to Israel, he would, he promised it was a one-sided covenant with them, that he would do what he promised to do with them. And so I think even though you're right about Dan that one concerns me. I don't know how to reconcile that just yet, but I do see Levi there and that's interesting as well. So I'm not sure. Why we have the names that we do, but just to point it out to you, there are different names in the original 12 tribes, unless Dan is somehow absorbed into one of the others. The faithful Dan Knights. Yeah, that's, yeah. That's possible. Yeah. After this, he sees a, a great multitude. John does. And this multitude we are told are down in verse 14. These are the ones coming out of the great tribulation. They've washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the lamb. So these are tribulation, saints, tribulation, martyrs that he sees in heaven, and they are in heaven worshiping the Lord on the face, falling on their faces. Prostrate there are, these are the ones that are praising him, even though these are the ones that have been, have lost their lives during the tribulation time, but they're ones that had come to faith in Christ during that time as well. So left behind there. There's some biblical validity to that whole concept there, though. This is not a, something that anything should, anyone should gamble on. There, there will still be people getting saved during the tribulation period in addition to the 144,000. And if you think about it, even. I think our current times and what we have in terms of the ability for us to preserve teaching through podcasts and through sermons that are left on YouTube and the proliferation of writing, the fact that Bibles are available on apps when the rapture of the church happens. God is not gonna be left without a voice. God is not gonna be left without a witness. And I think a lot of what. Is being recorded right now will be there at that time. And there will be people that do get saved during that tribulation period. And they're the ones that I think are on the scene here in chapter seven. Chapter eight, then the seventh seal shows up here, and that introduces, like Pastor Roger just said the trumpet judgments. And so the seventh seal is broken. And now we see these seven trumpets coming forth. These seven angels coming back and forth with the trumpets. And the trumpets are gonna be blown. Again, signifying with each one a progressive judgment of God. And so you've got trumpet number one, representing hail and fire being seen in hail and fire, bringing that trumpet. Number two, there's gonna be death in the seas. A third of the sea is gonna become blood. A third of the living creatures in the sea are gonna die. Chapter three, the fresh water is gonna be poisoned. There's gonna be a third of the rivers, the freshwater rivers that are gonna be end up like wormwood, which was a poison. That was, obviously bad as all poison is for humankind. And then the fourth angel is going to blow his trumpet and there's going to be a third of the lights, the celestial beings that are gonna be struck so that there's gonna be darkness that's going to come. Chapter nine, the fifth angel blows his trumpet, and you get this plague of locusts. And this calls back to the book of Joel. There was the plague of locust in the book of Joel that was a literal plague of locusts. And then there was also a group of locusts that were used as an illustration. It, it seems here in my understanding that these locusts are demonic beings. It says in verse seven, their faces were like, human faces, their hair, like woman's hair and their teeth like lions. Teeth. They had breastplates in like breastplates of iron and the noise of their wings was like the noise of chariots. So I think these are a demonic hoard that are coming forth to torture mankind as again, part of God's judgment against humanity at this point. Yeah, I would agree with that. And that's a terrifying prospect. Whatever these things are. Don't wanna get near them. You don't wanna be around 'em. No. Not something to buy as a pet for your kids. Yeah. Chapter or seal number six. Trumpet. Number six. Then in verse 13 is blown. And here we have a third of mankind is going to be executed at this point. There are angels that are prepared. It says for this hour, and they're released and these angelic beings are released to execute a third of mankind. Which is. Terrifying. Again, just to think, man, a third of their the people immediately wiped out by this, it seems that they're wiped out here by the plagues by disease. It says in verse 18 by these three plagues, a third of mankind was killed. Fire smoke and sulfur coming out of their mouths. And so it's the combination of the supernatural beings combined with it seems disease sickness plagues That's gonna wipe out a third of mankind at this point. Just to be clear here, then these trumpets. Are in addition to the seals? Yes. And the bulls are going to be in addition to the trumpets and the seals. So that means in chapter six there was a pale horse that was given. The ability to kill one quarter of the Earth. So we've just lost 25% and now we just lost another one, third, 33% on top of the 25% that we previously lost. So this is a compounded statistic of death here. God is executing his just judgment upon the earth and it's progressively getting worse. Yes. Yeah. Yeah, that's helpful. Still. Verse 20. It says, the rest of mankind who were not killed by these plagues did not repent. And that's gonna be a common theme through Revelation two. Mankind is gonna withstand and stubbornly not repent when God is judging and pouring out his wrath. Chapter 10. Then we do get the other scroll, not squirrel, but scroll. And this scroll, as you alluded to yesterday, is handed to John and John is told to eat the scroll. And the scroll is sweet at first and then bitter. And I think your interpretation on that is right. I think this is the judgment of God indicative of that in this scroll. Chapter 11, then we get two figures who are introduced by God. These are gonna be two figures who are going to stand for him and testify on his behalf and to what is going on here. And these are the two witnesses. What's notable here is the timeframe. And so they are given the ability to. To serve for, it says 42 months there in verse two, and that works out to three and a half years. I'll grant authority to my two witnesses, again, three and a half years for 1,260 days. That's three and a half years, and they're gonna be significant. They're gonna have such a powerful presence that eventually they are going to be allowed to. To be murdered. The antichrist the forces of the world. They're gonna take them out and when they take them out, it's going to launch a celebration, much like Christmas with the people on the earth. They're going to give gifts to each other. They're gonna be rejoicing over the death of these two witnesses. But then God, a few days later, is going to breathe life. Three and a half days later is going to breathe life into them. This is verse 11. They're gonna stand up on their feet and they are eventually going to return to be with. Him following. This is a massive earthquake that takes place, but these are the two witnesses that you may have heard about in the book of Revelation. Yeah. And what we're reading here in chapters 10 and 11 are really another interlude between the trumpet the sixth and the seven trumpet, because we just finished the sixth trumpet, verse 13 of chapter nine. And we're gonna look at the seven trumpet in verse 15 of chapter 11. But you have the strange section in between. What do we make of that? Anything on anything from the top of your head that would explain what these things are doing here? Other than, it's a bit of a time marker, specifically with the three and a half years because you're about to turn the corner and get into the second half of the tribulation period, which is gonna be marked by the persecution of Israel and the persecution of the saints by the antichrist and in by the faults. Profit, which is where we start to really get into some of the sensational stuff. And that's gonna come in tomorrow's episode, unfortunately. But that would be my only note is this is somewhat of a time marker to help us as we're progressing through the book. Some people have said here that these two witnesses are Moses and Elijah. Is that what you believe should be, put that in our Bible? This is Moses and Elijah. I don't think we should put anything in our Bible that. Isn't already in our Bible, but I'm not opposed to the understanding there. In fact, when we think about the Mount of Transfiguration, you had Moses and Elijah there on the Mount of Transfiguration with Right. With Jesus. So it's possible. Yeah. But there, but to your point there's nothing that tells us exactly. These two for sure are Moses and Elijah. It seems it's plausible. Yeah. Yeah. Even when you think about the law and the prophets and the concept of the law of the prophets, it would make sense for Moses to be one of the representatives, the law, and Elijah to be there as the representative of the prophet. Chapter se I keep saying chapter, the seventh trumpet, chapter 11 is blown. And there's this announcement. The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his Christ, and he shall reign forever. And the 24 elders, again, here they are, they fall in their faces and they worship the Lord and they praise him, and they give thanks to him. For rewarding his servants and also for judging those who are going to come against them. And then it's interesting, it says then God's temple in heaven was opened in the ark of the Covenant was seen in the temple. There it is. Found it, it is Indy. He was wrong. It's up there and there were flashes of lightning and rumblings and peels of thunder, earthquake and heavy hail ale. Yeah. This is not a good time. Not a not a time that anybody wants to be a part of, that's for sure. That's right. Yeah. Tomorrow we're gonna switch into talking about what you probably most often hear about with the book of Revelation, which is the antichrist, the false Prophet, and how all of that works together. Babylon. What is Babylon? What does Babylon represent? That's where we're headed in tomorrow's episode. Yeah, make sure you tune in and keep reading your Bibles, but let me pray and then we'll be done. God, thanks for your word. In this time, we pray for, again, like I prayed yesterday, understanding revelation is such a difficult book in so many different ways. I, I pray that we would understand what we can. And the things that are mysterious to us, that we would just trust you with those things and trust that you are sovereign over the outworking of all of this. And Lord, we are grateful for Christ and that it is our conviction that we won't be here for these things, but we will be with the lamb. We will be with you in heaven. And so we long for even that day. But in the meantime, as I often pray, I wanna pray again. Lord, help us to be found faithful as the church we pray. In Jesus' name, amen. Keep your Bibles tuned again tomorrow for another edition of the Daily Bible Podcast. Bye y'all. Bye.
