Speaker A

Welcome to Love Notes from Rhonda.

Speaker A

And today we're going to talk about your voice.

Speaker A

Yes, it's the day of voice.

Speaker A

Your voice.

Speaker A

And each one of us has a voice.

Speaker A

And this voice is a miracle.

Speaker A

And we can do so much with our voice and just think that voice is your essence moving through your body to create sound so that we can communicate with each other in this human reality.

Speaker A

And yes, we can go into woo woo stuff and say we have a vibration and we don't need words at all.

Speaker A

Sure, sure.

Speaker A

Yet if you're like me, hearing words is incredibly awe inspiring and beautiful and breathtaking and gosh, there's nothing better than hearing beautiful words coming out of somebody's mouth directed at you like I am right now.

Speaker A

And this voice.

Speaker A

Let's, let's, Let me, let me just tell you how this amazing body creates sound.

Speaker A

I mean, it's just amazing.

Speaker A

So this is what happens.

Speaker A

So when you want to speak, you close your vocal folds and begin to exhale, causing an increase in pressure that starts them vibrating.

Speaker A

The vibration of the vocal folds chops the airflow, producing a buzz like sound, which doesn't sound much like what we hear when we listen to someone's voice.

Speaker A

Vocal folds symmetrically, regularly.

Speaker A

Our body allows us to have voice that can be heard by others.

Speaker A

Our body gives a vehicle for our essence to be heard.

Speaker A

Our body gives us permission and gives us all the tools we need in order to express our true nature.

Speaker A

You have a voice, and that voice is yours and yours alone.

Speaker A

My voice is different than your voice.

Speaker A

Your voice is different than somebody else.

Speaker A

Everybody's voice is different.

Speaker A

I was in Starbucks one time and I was ordering a drink and a woman.

Speaker A

I had my back, you know, back to people.

Speaker A

I was talking to the barista and this woman was sitting behind me.

Speaker A

She didn't see me, but she heard me ordering and she yelled out, is that Rhonda Britton?

Speaker A

She didn't have to see me.

Speaker A

She just heard my voice like you're hearing my voice right now.

Speaker A

You have a voice and that voice is carrying your essence out into the world.

Speaker A

And your body gives you all the tools, all the capacity to have a voice.

Speaker A

I mean, we have folds, vocal folds, and it vibrates and it allows us to make sounds and sing and shout and cry and whisper.

Speaker A

Yeah, we have full control over our voice.

Speaker A

We can whisper.

Speaker A

We can whisper sweet nothings and beautiful words and just whisper to each other.

Speaker A

You are magnificent.

Speaker A

And you are enough exactly as you are.

Speaker A

There is nothing wrong with you.

Speaker A

Nothing at all.

Speaker A

Nothing wrong with you, whenever you think that or feel that way, it's just a lie.

Speaker A

And it's just fear trying to keep you safe.

Speaker A

And you get to say thank you, fear, and move on.

Speaker A

And we move from whispering those beautiful messages to ourselves.

Speaker A

And we can get louder and we can get bolder and we get stronger, and we can sing.

Speaker A

And we can sing even if you can't sing.

Speaker A

Like my sister Linda, who can't sing a note, but she sings all the time, doesn't care if she's flat, tone deaf, doesn't matter.

Speaker A

She sings loud no matter what.

Speaker A

I love her for it.

Speaker A

So today, I want you to be in awe of this amazing thing called your voice.

Speaker A

Your throat, your vocal cords.

Speaker A

Everything that it takes to make sound is built into your body.

Speaker A

You didn't have to make it up.

Speaker A

You didn't have to decide.

Speaker A

You didn't have to go like, well, I guess I need some vocal cords.

Speaker A

No, they're just here now for you.

Speaker A

They were made for you to have a voice, to take that essence and give it voice into the world.

Speaker A

Thank you, throat.

Speaker A

Thank you, vocal cords.

Speaker A

Thank you.

Speaker A

The breath that we breathe in order to create that vibration, in order to be heard.

Speaker A

So today I want you to pay attention to that voice of yours, that incredibly magnificent voice of yours, and I want you to practice using it.

Speaker A

And if you're scared to use words yet, say everything that you think or want to say, that's okay.

Speaker A

I just want you to know you have a choice to if you want to.

Speaker A

And you can whisper and you can shout and you can sing and you can be right in the middle, you know, your inside voice or your outside voice, right?

Speaker A

We'd say that to children.

Speaker A

Use your inside voice.

Speaker A

So today, let's be grateful for our voice.

Speaker A

We may or may not be using it to a full capacity.

Speaker A

And that's not the point.

Speaker A

The point is that we have a voice if we want to use it.

Speaker A

And it's available to us.

Speaker A

That, my friends, is a miracle.

Speaker A

So today, today, gratitude for voice.

Speaker A

When you speak, whisper a quick little gratitude.

Speaker A

Whisper and say, yes, I have a voice and I can choose any time whether to use it.

Speaker A

And my body has given me this gift.

Speaker A

Until next time, be fearless.

Speaker A

I love you, Sa.
