Melissa Deally:

Welcome back to another episode of health hack as I continue talking to about the wonders of hydration and how important it is, and it is very important in terms of your body's ability to regulate its temperature. Water plays a key role because of the fact that of course, we perspire and lose water. In order to prevent the body overheating during physical activity or in hot environments, we have to make sure we are taking in enough hydration to replace what we are losing. And so along the bottom of the screen, it says that you should be drinking half your body weight in water every single day. However, if you're working out a lot or it's really hot, you might need to be increasing that amount of water. The other thing that hydration is really beneficial for is your eye health. And you've probably never really thought about that. But proper hydration supports the moisture balance in your eyes, which reduces the risk of dryness and irritation and helps maintain overall eye health. So there you go. If you're not good at drinking water every single day, get yourself a jug that has the hour hours of the day on it so that you can make sure you've drunk this much by 10 o'clock and this much by 12 o'clock in order to ensure that you are drinking half your body weight in water every day and you can keep track of it really easily.
