Hey.

Speaker AI'm answering more questions that are common with podcasters and really want to anchor you into God's truth about how to grow and launch your show.
Speaker ASo be sure to check those out.
Speaker ANow, my friends, if you have a podcasting question I would love to hear from you.
Speaker AYou can go to ww podcastcoachingforkingdomentrepreneurs.com and in the bottom right hand corner there's a little speaker.
Speaker AYou can leave me a message and ask your question today.
Speaker AAnd of course you can always find me on social media as well.
Speaker ASo today's question is all about how do I find music put into my podcast?
Speaker AAnd you know, it's one of those questions that I'm like, oh, I haven't really thought about that in a long time of how to explain to get music onto your podcast.
Speaker AAnd I love using music because it really sets the tone to your podcast.
Speaker ANow I want you to think about why this matters.
Speaker AReally.
Speaker AIt's bringing a whole nother level of feel, an emotion to your podcast.
Speaker AYou can use it in your intros, in your outros, as you're introducing your show or you're leaving the show.
Speaker AYou can also use it in and out throughout your episodes in transitions and different segments.
Speaker AIf you think about NPR in the way that they do their podcasting, which is so dreamy, or any kind of narrative podcast, the music is going to set the tone for a different layering of experience for your listener.
Speaker ANow I want you to consider the tone of your own podcast.
Speaker AIs it serious?
Speaker AIs it relaxed?
Speaker AIs it inspirational?
Speaker AIs it funny?
Speaker AI want you to choose music that matches the vibe of your topic.
Speaker AFor example, upbeat tracks work well for energizing intros, while softer tracks might have that feel of more of a reflective segment.
Speaker AI'll give you an example with my own podcast.
Speaker AMy first podcast is called Holistic Hearts Podcast and it's more of a reflective, inspirational, sometimes very meditative podcast.
Speaker ASo I'm very specific on it.
Speaker ABeing slow, being calm, being relaxed and making sure that it's bringing people into a space space where they can take a deep breath.
Speaker ANow here with podcasting Q and A inside a Podcast coaching podcast is the more upbeat.
Speaker AI want you to be inspired I want you to be motivated, I want you to be encouraged.
Speaker ASo I'm going to pick more fun, upbeat music.
Speaker ANow here's the second question, or really the answer to the main question of how do I find these pieces of music that I can use?
Speaker ACan I just use any old song like I really love Beyonce's song or, or Taylor Swift song?
Speaker AI would love to use that.
Speaker AUnfortunately, we cannot do that.
Speaker AYou have to buy a copyright and to do that for most artists that are on the radio or they are well known, it's going to cost you a lot of money.
Speaker ASo we want to look for places that we can buy royalty free music tracks.
Speaker ASo there's things like Audio Jungle, Sound Stripe.
Speaker ANow both of those, I'm going to put them in the show notes so you have access to that for yourself and to check them out.
Speaker AI personally use Soundstripe.
Speaker AIt's one of my favorite ones that I've used for many years.
Speaker AUm, you can buy a content license, meaning you can put it on your podcast episode and it's good to go.
Speaker ASo easy peasy.
Speaker ANow if you don't want to pay for it, which is what soundstripe is doing is you're paying a fee to use these pieces of music.
Speaker AIt may not be Taylor Swift, the Beatles, whatever, but you're also finding good quality music that may be not as frequently used.
Speaker ASo that is the benefit of finding something like Audio Jungle or Soundstripe to help beef up your intro and outro to another level.
Speaker AOkay, so the free options, there's YouTube audio library, which I believe and somebody might have to correct me on this, but you can only use it on YouTube specific and then there.
Speaker AAnother suggestion would be free music archive.
Speaker AThere's two free great options.
Speaker AAnother option too is to go into the public domain library and look under music and anything that was published pre 1928 you can use absolutely free without having to buy any kind of license, which is super cool.
Speaker AThe importance of having licensing is because you don't want it to get pulled or taken down because of legal issues.
Speaker ARoyalty free means it's free to use in every case.
Speaker AIt's going to be a little bit different.
Speaker ASo make sure you understand the specific license that you are purchasing or the free license on the other options for free music.
Speaker AOkay, so as you are picking out your music, make sure you just use a little tiny chunks here and there.
Speaker AI have seen a lot of people not.
Speaker AWell, maybe not a lot of people.
Speaker AI have seen some people a couple of years ago where they would do their entire show in music without changing the sound levels and making sure that it was balanced with your voice.
Speaker AAnd that can be a little tricky for your listeners.
Speaker ASo make sure you go back and listen.
Speaker AMake sure it sounds sounds great.
Speaker AMake sure it's fading into your real episode or to your main episode, or fading in and out during your transitions.
Speaker AWell, and again, making sure that you have the right to use that music.
Speaker AAll right, I invite you guys to connect with me outside of here for more podcasting tips, more podcast coaching, come visit us inside of our community.
