Speaker 2 00:00:53
Welcome to Bible Bites, the podcast where we work to inspire faith one bite at a time.
Speaker 2 00:00:58
I'm your host.
Speaker 2 00:01:00
Brandy Black.
Speaker 2 00:01:02
Genesis chapter 3, verse 15 stands as one of the most profound and hope-filled verses in the entire Bible.
Speaker 2 00:01:10
Often referred to as the Proto Evangelium, or the First Gospel, this verse contains the very first promise of a Savior, a Redeemer who would come through the lineage of the woman, Eve.
Speaker 2 00:01:24
Even in the midst of mankind's first act of rebellion, God pronounced both judgment and hope, declaring war between the serpent and the woman, and between their respective seeds
Speaker 2 00:01:37
Through this scripture, we glimpse God's eternal plan to redeem humanity through Jesus Christ.
Speaker 2 00:01:44
This episode.
Speaker 2 00:01:46
will explore the significance of this verse and trace its fulbil fulfillment through various scripture, showing just how God's plan of salvation was in place from the very beginning.
Speaker 2 00:02:02
Before we dive into the word, let's open up in prayer.
Speaker 2 00:02:07
Heavenly Father, we thank you for the depth of your mercy
Speaker 2 00:02:12
And the power of your promises.
Speaker 2 00:02:16
In the very moment of humanity's fall, you offered hope through the promise of a savior.
Speaker 2 00:02:23
Help us today to better understand your redemptive plan that began in the garden and culminated at the cross.
Speaker 2 00:02:31
Open our hearts and minds to the truth of your word.
Speaker 2 00:02:35
Let this scripture deepen our faith.
Speaker 2 00:02:39
Strengthen our hope
Speaker 2 00:02:42
And fill us with gratitude for the great salvation we have in Christ.
Speaker 2 00:02:48
In the name of your son Jesus, we pray.
Speaker 2 00:02:51
Amen.
Speaker 2 00:03:03
Genesis chapter 3, verse 15.
Speaker 2 00:03:06
And I will make enemies of you and the woman, and of your offspring and her descendant.
Speaker 2 00:03:13
He shall bruise you on the head
Speaker 2 00:03:16
and you shall bruise him on the heel.
Speaker 2 00:03:24
Genesis chapter three, verse fifteen is more than a judgment upon the serpent.
Speaker 2 00:03:30
It is a declaration of divine warfare and redemptive promise.
Speaker 2 00:03:35
God addresses Satan directly and declares hostility between him and the woman and between their offspring.
Speaker 2 00:03:42
Importantly, the term seed or descendant in reference to the woman is singular, indicating a specific individual.
Speaker 2 00:03:52
This is the first foretelling of the coming Messiah, born of a woman who would ultimately defeat the serpent, Satan, once and for all.
Speaker 2 00:04:04
The reference to the bruising of the heel and the bruising of the head speaks of a mutual wounding, but of unequal consequence
Speaker 2 00:04:13
Satan would strike a blow against the Savior, most clearly seen in the crucifixion.
Speaker 2 00:04:19
But Christ would deliver the fatal blow to Satan's dominion through his death
Speaker 2 00:04:23
and his resurrection.
Speaker 2 00:04:25
This is echoed in Hebrews two, verse fourteen, where it says, Therefore, since the children share in flesh and blood, he himself likewise also partook of the same.
Speaker 2 00:04:37
So that through death he might destroy the one who has the power of death, that is, the devil
Speaker 2 00:04:45
In Isaiah chapter 7, verse 14, we see this promise reinforced with greater clarity.
Speaker 2 00:04:52
Therefore, the Lord Himself will give you a sign.
Speaker 2 00:04:55
Behold, the virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and she will name him Emmanuel.
Speaker 2 00:05:01
This miraculous virgin birth points again to the seed of the woman, not of the man
Speaker 2 00:05:09
And reveals that God's plan includes both divine intervention and miraculous fulfillment
Speaker 2 00:05:16
Moving forward into the New Testament, in Luke chapter one, verses twenty six through thirty five, it records that the angel Gabriel announcing to Mary that she would conceive by the Holy Spirit and give birth.
Speaker 2 00:05:31
to the Son of God.
Speaker 2 00:05:33
This is the direct fulfillment of Genesis 3.
Speaker 2 00:05:36
15 and Isaiah 7.
Speaker 2 00:05:39
14.
Speaker 2 00:05:40
Mary's lineage, traced back to Eve, shows the thread of God's promise woven through generations.
Speaker 2 00:05:48
The seed had come, not through human power or planning, but by divine initiative.
Speaker 2 00:05:55
Paul affirms this connection in Galatians chapter 4, verses 4 and 5, where he writes, But when the fullness of the time came, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law.
Speaker 2 00:06:09
so that he might redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons and daughters.
Speaker 2 00:06:17
This passage reinforces both the timing and the purpose of Christ's coming
Speaker 2 00:06:22
Redemption was always the goal, and Eve's lineage was always part of that plan.
Speaker 2 00:06:30
Finally, in Romans 16, verse 20, we can have a look ahead there where it says, The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet.
Speaker 2 00:06:41
The grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.
Speaker 2 00:06:44
This verse reminds us that while the decisive victory was won at the cross, the final defeat of Satan is still to come.
Speaker 2 00:06:53
The promise made in Genesis is both fulfilled and being fulfilled, and we as the church await the full manifestation of Christ's triumph
Speaker 2 00:07:06
There are many key takeaways from these passages of scripture today.
Speaker 2 00:07:13
The first is that God's redemptive plan was initiated immediately after the fall.
Speaker 2 00:07:19
God did not leave humanity in despair.
Speaker 2 00:07:22
From the very moment of sin, he revealed his plan to redeem us through the offspring of the woman.
Speaker 2 00:07:31
Our second takeaway is the promise centers on a person, the seed of the woman.
Speaker 2 00:07:38
The specific mention of her descendant points directly to Jesus Christ.
Speaker 2 00:07:43
Who would come in human flesh to fulfill this prophecy?
Speaker 2 00:07:49
Next we see the burgeon birth as a fulfillment of this prophecy.
Speaker 2 00:07:54
The prophecies in Isaiah and their fulfillment in Luke affirm this miraculous nature of Jesus' birth.
Speaker 2 00:08:03
And verify the divine origin of our Savior.
Speaker 2 00:08:09
Next we see that God's works works through weakness and through humility
Speaker 2 00:08:15
God chose humble vessels like Eve and Mary to bring about his plan on earth, showing that he values faithfulness and prominence.
Speaker 2 00:08:27
Next, we have the prophecy and the fulfillment validating God's Word.
Speaker 2 00:08:31
The consistency of the fulfilled prophecy across the Scripture builds our trust in the Bible and in God's faithfulness.
Speaker 2 00:08:41
Christ's victory is both present and is future.
Speaker 2 00:08:46
Jesus has already triumphed over sin and death.
Speaker 2 00:08:50
But the full defeat of Satan will be completed when he returns one day.
Speaker 2 00:08:58
Salvation is rooted in God's initiative
Speaker 2 00:09:01
Not in human effort.
Speaker 2 00:09:03
From Genesis to Revelation, redemption is a work of divine grace, not human merit
Speaker 2 00:09:11
And finally, we are part of the ongoing fulfillment of the promise.
Speaker 2 00:09:18
As Christ's body, the church continues to spread the message of redemption.
Speaker 2 00:09:23
pushing back the darkness with the light of the gospel.
Speaker 2 00:09:30
These ideas in this lesson, in this episode, draw us into the heart of God's redemptive narrative.
Speaker 2 00:09:37
Genesis 3.
Speaker 2 00:09:39
15 isn't just about the fall.
Speaker 2 00:09:42
It's about the future.
Speaker 2 00:09:44
It tells us that God, even when angered by sin, never gave up on his creation.
Speaker 2 00:09:52
The promise to Eve was a whisper of grace amidst the thunder of judgment
Speaker 2 00:10:01
God already saw the cross from Eden and had already appointed Christ as the Lamb, slain from the foundation of the world
Speaker 2 00:10:12
We see that God's plans are neither accidental nor reactionary.
Speaker 2 00:10:17
Every detail, from the virgin birth to the exact timing of Jesus' arrival, was orchestrated by divine wisdom.
Speaker 2 00:10:26
Even Satan's temporary victories were permitted only to serve a greater purpose, the revelation of God's glory through redemption
Speaker 2 00:10:36
In this episode today, it it these these scriptures remind us of our place in the story.
Speaker 2 00:10:43
Just as Eve was the mother of all living and Mary bore the Savior of the world, we too have a role
Speaker 2 00:10:53
We are spiritual descendants, part of God's redemptive moment in history
Speaker 2 00:11:00
The crushing of the serpent continues as we proclaim Christ crucified and risen.
Speaker 2 00:11:09
And as we reflect on these truths, may we not merely appreciate the story, but participate actively in it
Speaker 2 00:11:20
Let us cling to the hope found in Jesus, the promised seed, and be bold in sharing the gospel with a broken world
Speaker 2 00:11:31
That still echoes with the consequences of Eden's choice.
Speaker 2 00:11:37
Let's close out with a prayer.
Speaker 2 00:11:41
Gracious and mighty God, thank you for the promise made in the garden and fulfilled in Christ.
Speaker 2 00:11:47
Thank you for the victory over sin and death that Jesus secured through his life
Speaker 2 00:11:53
death and resurrection.
Speaker 2 00:11:56
Help us to live with confidence in your plan and purpose.
Speaker 2 00:12:00
Give us courage to proclaim this good news to the world that is in need
Speaker 2 00:12:06
May we walk in faith knowing that just as you kept your promises in the past, you will bring them to completion in the future
Speaker 2 00:12:15
In the name of Jesus, the seed of the woman and the savior of the world, we pray.
Speaker 2 00:12:20
Amen.

Here at Bible Bites we operate this podcast under the value for value model.
Speaker 2 00:12:44
Our goal is that each week
Speaker 2 00:12:45
when we put out our episodes, we are providing value to you.
Speaker 2 00:12:49
And then in turn you would provide value back to us.
Speaker 2 00:12:51
And under this model, we have that in three forms.
Speaker 2 00:12:54
We call those time, talent, and treasure
Speaker 2 00:12:57
Time is as simple as taking the time each week to listen to the episodes as they come out.
Speaker 2 00:13:01
It could also be taking the time to share an episode with someone else that you feel could be touched in some way or could learn from it, or maybe even
Speaker 2 00:13:09
It be a way for them to be channeled toward Jesus.
Speaker 2 00:13:13
And they feel that calling and they accept him as their Savior.
Speaker 2 00:13:17
Talent will be offering to assist us in some way with creating the show.
Speaker 2 00:13:20
We have different cover art for every episode.
Speaker 2 00:13:22
You can assist with that.
Speaker 2 00:13:23
We have
Speaker 2 00:13:25
ideas and things you can submit in for scripture for lesson topics things we can look at with those uh as a way to kind of direct things you could even step up and write an entire
Speaker 2 00:13:35
uh episode of the show.
Speaker 2 00:13:36
Script it out, plan it all out with us and get it going.
Speaker 2 00:13:39
And even if you chose, you could even step up and we would happily allow you to record and be a part of the show.
Speaker 2 00:13:46
The last area is in treasure.
Speaker 2 00:13:48
And the idea of treasure is something that is, in this case, financial.
Speaker 2 00:13:51
It does cost money to produce the show.
Speaker 2 00:13:54
Um
Speaker 2 00:13:55
It is supported mostly from directly from myself.
Speaker 2 00:13:59
But if you if you choose to, there are ways you can provide support to us that is financial.
Speaker 2 00:14:05
Uh one of those is by listening in a modern podcast app.
Speaker 2 00:14:07
In those apps, you can set up a wallet.
Speaker 2 00:14:09
That is filled with Satoshis.
Speaker 2 00:14:11
Satoshis are very small amounts of Bitcoin.
Speaker 2 00:14:13
And you can choose to stream Satoshis to the show.
Speaker 2 00:14:17
In doing so, you would choose the amount you stream per minute.
Speaker 2 00:14:20
If you wanted to stream 10 sats a minute
Speaker 2 00:14:22
That's perfectly acceptable.
Speaker 2 00:14:24
If you're getting a lot of value and you want to stream 500 sats a minute, that would be amazing too.
Speaker 2 00:14:29
It's all up to the value you feel you're getting from the show.
Speaker 2 00:14:33
You can also send in a boost.
Speaker 2 00:14:35
A boost is a one-time pledge of support in an amount of Satoshis from one of those apps.
Speaker 2 00:14:39
You can also send it a boostigram.
Speaker 2 00:14:40
A boostigram would be a boost, but have a message attached to it
Speaker 2 00:14:43
Uh and you can use that message to provide encouragement, to make suggestions.
Speaker 2 00:14:47
You can use it to even it uh send us prayer requests uh that we can share on the on the show.
Speaker 2 00:14:53
There's also on our web page, our website, there's a page there, the value for value page, where you can go to the bottom of the page and there is an embedded widget there from PayPal.
Speaker 2 00:15:03
You can use PayPal.
Speaker 2 00:15:04
to send a one-time pledge of support or you can make a an ongoing pledge of support and share that uh with us uh for the value you're receiving.
Speaker 2 00:15:13
There's also links there for Albi, for Strike.
Speaker 2 00:15:16
Those are two ways you can do that as well with some cryptocurrency things.
Speaker 2 00:15:21
Those are acceptable as well.
Speaker 2 00:15:22
And we have a link there for Auphonic.
Speaker 2 00:15:24
Auphonic is the tool we use to process our audio.
Speaker 2 00:15:27
before we put it out.
Speaker 2 00:15:28
And if you want to, you can purchase one-time credits on Auphonic for us.
Speaker 2 00:15:32
That'll help us uh in assisting to create the broadcast or create the podcast.
Speaker 2 00:15:38
If you want to learn more about the value for value model and what it is we're doing with it here on the show, head over to our website.
Speaker 2 00:15:43
You can hit that at bible-bytes.

Speaker 2 00:15:58
We hope that you would, if you have prayer requests, you would willingly share those with us so that we can lift those up with our audience together and hand those off to the Lord.
Speaker 2 00:16:08
Um we've had this prayer requests going on recently uh that have been long-term ones.
Speaker 2 00:16:12
We're gonna keep those going.
Speaker 2 00:16:14
Remember my mom and dad, we've discussed that in the future, in the in the past.
Speaker 2 00:16:17
Remember our friends Greg and Kim as well.
Speaker 2 00:16:20
Uh continue to remember I haven't s I didn't mention him last week and I don't know if I did the week before, but uh Tim Coleck, uh uh gentleman who was a strong influence on me as a youngster uh growing up in the church.
Speaker 2 00:16:30
Uh let's remember him.
Speaker 2 00:16:32
And his his battle he's going through health-wise and his wife as she's there to support him and help with everything.
Speaker 2 00:16:38
Um remember um
Speaker 2 00:16:42
my my wife's or sorry, my my father's cousin as he's recovering from having a a an amputation of a toe, uh, and the things he's going through with that and the healing and things that maybe it'll help him to
Speaker 2 00:16:56
He can uh heal and and be s and be successful in returning back to normalcy uh in his life.
Speaker 2 00:17:03
Um we've had some
Speaker 2 00:17:04
pretty horrendous rain and storms here the last few days uh in my in my area and want to remember everybody who's been affected by that.
Speaker 2 00:17:11
Lots of flooding has occurred.
Speaker 2 00:17:13
Uh people were, you know,
Speaker 2 00:17:15
Mm-hmm from their homes, McCause of everything had to be evacuated.
Speaker 2 00:17:18
Uh people couldn't get back to their homes.
Speaker 2 00:17:20
So we have
Speaker 2 00:17:22
uh those people we want to remember um as we go through this as well and continue to remember me still adjusting medication and things with
Speaker 2 00:17:30
with everything.
Speaker 2 00:17:31
I think I'm starting to do pretty well.
Speaker 2 00:17:32
I'm starting to, you know, watch my my blood glucose and see where it's at with the help of a a constant uh glucose monitor so I can see where that's at and see what how foods and drinks and different things affect me.
Speaker 2 00:17:45
uh so that I can I can make better choices and decisions with managing that.
Speaker 2 00:17:51
But as we do each week, let's go ahead and
Speaker 2 00:17:54
Take these requests and lift them up to the Lord in prayer before we talk about our next episode.
Speaker 2 00:18:01
Heavenly Father, we thank you again for this opportunity to share your word through this podcast.
Speaker 2 00:18:07
Remember these requests that we've shared with our audience that they're lifting up to you as well.
Speaker 2 00:18:12
Remember my parents, our friends Greg and Kim.
Speaker 2 00:18:15
uh Tim and his wife Kim, um Kevin, as he recovers things, the people who've been affected by the storms and the flooding here in our area recently, and myself.
Speaker 2 00:18:25
And also any unspoken requests that those who are listening to the show
Speaker 2 00:18:29
may not share with us, but you know what they are.
Speaker 2 00:18:31
You know what the requests that need to be answered are.
Speaker 2 00:18:35
You have the wisdom to to answer those in a way that best fits with your will.
Speaker 2 00:18:41
And we trust you for that.
Speaker 2 00:18:43
Ultimately, our goal in this podcast is to share your word in hopes that it helps others to learn to grow closer to you and your son.
Speaker 2 00:18:51
And even for those who may not be saved to hear it and to accept him as their savior, so they can then spend eternity in heaven with you and him and all of us who are saved.
Speaker 2 00:19:03
It's in the name of your son Jesus that we pray.
Speaker 2 00:19:06
Amen.
Speaker 2 00:19:10
Our next episode, we're going to move on to our next woman of the Bible in our series.
Speaker 2 00:19:15
And that's going to be Sarah.
Speaker 2 00:19:17
We're going to look at Genesis chapter 15, verses 1 through 6, as well as Genesis chapter 16, verses 1 through 6.
Speaker 2 00:19:25
And we're going to look at the the whole idea of faith and doubt.
