Merry Christmas.
Jon Clayton:This is John Clayton, the host of architecture business called podcast.
Jon Clayton:This is a super short episode today just to say thank you for
Jon Clayton:your ongoing support of the show.
Jon Clayton:It really is appreciated.
Jon Clayton:Doesn't go unnoticed, and I don't take it for granted that you
Jon Clayton:choose to listen to this podcast.
Jon Clayton:So I'm just gonna share a couple of quick.
Jon Clayton:Statistics with you.
Jon Clayton:'cause I know that some of you, you like data.
Jon Clayton:Me too.
Jon Clayton:I like some data.
Jon Clayton:We released 52 new episodes in 2025, so that was one
Jon Clayton:episode for every single week.
Jon Clayton:We celebrated the release of our 100th episode in September, 2025.
Jon Clayton:How cool is that now?
Jon Clayton:Apparently less than 7% of podcasts get beyond a hundred episodes.
Jon Clayton:So I, I'm really proud that we've been able to kind of, keep
Jon Clayton:going, you know, keep producing.
Jon Clayton:Well what I think valuable, useful episodes, I mean, people still
Jon Clayton:keep listening and tuning in, so I guess we're doing something right.
Jon Clayton:Always room for improvement though.
Jon Clayton:So if you do have any ideas or suggestions for improvements.
Jon Clayton:Do let me know.
Jon Clayton:In October we had our most downloads that we've ever had in a single month,
Jon Clayton:so that was, was lovely, um, especially after releasing that hundredth episodes.
Jon Clayton:I'm gonna give you a quick rundown of our top three episodes of 2025.
Jon Clayton:Now this is just based on download numbers.
Jon Clayton:So in it number three was episode 87, which we released in June.
Jon Clayton:That was.
Jon Clayton:Is it time to quit your architecture business?
Jon Clayton:Hmm.
Jon Clayton:So that tells me that there may be quite a few of you out there that are
Jon Clayton:feeling a little disillusioned about architecture or perhaps about running
Jon Clayton:your own business, and that's okay.
Jon Clayton:We've all been there, Two was episode 97, which we released in September,
Jon Clayton:2025, and that was hands on construction to House of the Year with Carl Turner.
Jon Clayton:Really enjoyed that conversation with Carl.
Jon Clayton:We actually released.
Jon Clayton:Two episodes 'cause we ended up talking for so long, we couldn't fit it all in,
Jon Clayton:uh, to one sort of usual length episode.
Jon Clayton:But, um, yeah, Carl is a lovely man and a really talented architect.
Jon Clayton:So if you haven't listened to that already, go and check it out.
Jon Clayton:And in at number one was episode number 79, released in May, 2025.
Jon Clayton:That was Building Dreams.
Jon Clayton:Joe Wright's journey through architecture and business.
Jon Clayton:So.
Jon Clayton:Those top two episodes that tells me that you love a good story.
Jon Clayton:I'd like to feature more architects and designers on this show next year.
Jon Clayton:Aside from our usual mix of sort of business and marketing experts, I'd like
Jon Clayton:to feature more stories from real people.
Jon Clayton:That are working in the architecture industry, for them to come on,
Jon Clayton:shine the spotlight on them for an episode to be able to share what's
Jon Clayton:been working for them, share some of the successes, maybe share, talk
Jon Clayton:about some of the challenges too.
Jon Clayton:And it's an amazing opportunity to be a podcast guest.
Jon Clayton:You get free pr, it's really good opportunity.
Jon Clayton:So if you're feeling a little bit unsure about it I've had lots of
Jon Clayton:first time podcast guests on the show and I always make sure that
Jon Clayton:everybody feels really comfortable.
Jon Clayton:It's really relaxed.
Jon Clayton:So if you've got a story to share, feel free to reach out and let's
Jon Clayton:see if we can get you on this show.
Jon Clayton:And I just wanna leave you with a little piece of advice.
Jon Clayton:My advice for today.
Jon Clayton:It is to stop listening to this podcast, not permanently, but right now.
Jon Clayton:Stop listening to this podcast or any other podcast.
Jon Clayton:If you're listening to this on Christmas Day or around Christmas, go and spend some
Jon Clayton:time with your family or your friends.
Jon Clayton:That is exactly what I'll be doing over Christmas and New Year.
Jon Clayton:Next week's episode, we'll be going out on New Year's Day and that will be a
Jon Clayton:quick reminder of what to expect from the show in 2026, and it'll be another
Jon Clayton:short episode as you might be feeling tired or possibly nursing a hangover
Jon Clayton:after partying on New Year's Eve.
Jon Clayton:So until then, have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
