Speaker AAnd why is that so important?
Speaker ABecause we're going to begin by looking at why we don't make room for happiness.
Speaker AWhat are the reasons we resist and stop ourselves from embracing all of who we are and living life as if it's the most important thing for us?
Speaker AAs I can't remember who said it, living your life as if your life depended on it.
Speaker ASo I invite you to grab a pen, a piece of paper, find somewhere quiet to sit and really take part in this episode of the Choosing Happy Podcast.
Speaker AHello and welcome to the Choosing Happy Podcast.
Speaker AI'm Heather Masters and today I am inviting you on a journey.
Speaker AA journey to joy, happiness and and more importantly, to love, to self, love, to self care.
Speaker ATo giving yourself permission to experience joy and happiness every day in your life because you know how worthy you are.
Speaker ABecause you know you matter.
Speaker ABecause you know your life matters.
Speaker AAnd we're going to begin by looking at the very things that we resist around happiness.
Speaker AWhat do we prevent ourselves from doing?
Speaker AWhat other things on our to do list that are just for us, that are those self care moments, those treats that are just those moments of joy and aliveness and you know, doing something that's fun, that might seem frivolous but actually matters.
Speaker ABecause when we're giving ourselves those moments of joy and bliss, we're sending a message to our unconscious mind to attract more of that into our lives.
Speaker AYet when we block ourselves, when we say that isn't important, that's the message we're giving to unconscious mind.
Speaker ASo we find more of what we don't want, what we think of as we have to, we must, we should, those chores and life becomes more of a struggle because that's the energy, that's the message we're giving ourselves, our unconscious and out to the universe because of that.
Speaker ABecause every thought, every feeling, especially every vibration, every emotion instructs the universe in what it brings us.
Speaker AThe universe is constantly saying yes, it's the message that we're putting out there.
Speaker AIt says yes to it doesn't discriminate whether it's good or bad.
Speaker AThe message that we are putting out, the vibration, vibration we're putting out there is the instruction it receives.
Speaker AAnd it's the same with the unconscious mind.
Speaker ASo I'd like you to, to ponder that to begin with because that's quite a Biggie in itself.
Speaker ASo when you sit now with your pen and paper in hand, what are the messages that you are primarily sending to the universe, to your unconscious mind on a daily basis?
Speaker AYou know, we can pause this and take, take five to 10 minutes to.
Speaker ATo be honest with yourself, to go deep and to let yourself know, let yourself realize.
Speaker ABecause often some of this is unconscious and we don't allow ourselves to see the messages we're sending to ourselves.
Speaker ALike we must work 18 hours a day because if we don't, this will happen.
Speaker AWhat's the fear?
Speaker AWhat's the driver behind it?
Speaker AOften it's a negative driver, it's not a toward.
Speaker AWe're not moving towards something that joyful.
Speaker AWe're preventing ourselves from embracing truly who we are and living in the moment because we're driven by this unconscious fear.
Speaker ASo it's really important to take 5 or 10 minutes to write those down, write down those thoughts that are driving you through the day.
Speaker AAnd one of the other things is to think about how you treat yourself.
Speaker AI notice because I spend most of my time on my own, that I live differently when someone else is here.
Speaker AFor instance, being on my own, there are times when I just don't want to cook anything.
Speaker AIt doesn't seem worth the effort.
Speaker AIt doesn't seem worthwhile, though if I have someone staying with me, I know I'll make that effort.
Speaker AI'll get up earlier to do everything I need to do to make their stay the best it can be.
Speaker AI'll go out of my way to cook delicious meals.
Speaker AI'll go out of my way to make sure my home is cozy and welcoming.
Speaker AYet I don't do that for myself.
Speaker ASo I challenge you to a week of treating yourself like an honoured guest.
Speaker ATreating yourself as if you have the most important person in your life staying with you.
Speaker AWhether it's your mum, whether it's your sister, whether it's a dear, blessed friend, whoever it is, they're turning up at your house for seven days and this person is actually you.
Speaker AYou are going to be that honored guest and you're going to live that week as if someone else was there, while accepting that you're the honoured guest in your own life.
Speaker ASo I invite you to do that as well.
Speaker AJust have a.
Speaker AA go at doing that and see what difference it makes.
Speaker ADoes it raise your level of happiness?
Speaker ABut more importantly, does it raise how you think about yourself?
Speaker ADoes it raise your self worth, your respect for yourself?
Speaker AYou know, does it give yourself permission?
Speaker AAre you giving yourself permission to be Truly who you are are to show up in a different version of yourself because you're honoring yourself.
Speaker AYou are the honored guest.
Speaker ANow I have a meditation, and it's a short meditation, it's part of a longer meditation.
Speaker ABut I'm going to give you this because it is such a gift.
Speaker AAnd I truly believe that you can't be happy or allow bliss and joy into your life if you're struggling with self worth.
Speaker ASo this is something you can do every morning in front of a mirror, and I invite you to do it.
Speaker AIf you're going to do the week of the honored guest, do this for, for yourself three times a day for that week as well.
Speaker AAnd just see the difference that this makes to you and to your life and who you be, who you show up as.
Speaker AIt's in every moment because that's what matters.
Speaker AWe attract to us our vibration.
Speaker AAnd this is definitely one to raise your vibration.
Speaker AI'll put the full.

Speaker ABut this is the beginning of the meditation.
Speaker AFirst of all, take a moment to relax.
Speaker AIf you're driving, pull over or do this at a different time.
Speaker ABut if you have a moment, just make yourself comfortable in your chair and take a deep breath in and out and in and out and in and out.
Speaker AAnd I want you to close your eyes on this out breath.
Speaker AI want you just to think about relaxing, relaxing from the top of your head to the tip of your toes, Just relaxing your head, your forehead, relax your brows, your eyebrows, your eyes, the skin around your eyes, skin on your face.
Speaker ARelax your jaw, move it around a bit if you want to.
Speaker AAnd just get all of that tension out of your jaw.
Speaker AJust let it go, let it flow out of you.
Speaker AAnd then relax your neck again, move it about a little bit.
Speaker AAnd then just relax.
Speaker AAnd your shoulders, you might want to move those about and just allow them to relax.
Speaker AAnd your chest and all the internal organs in your chest, imagine them relaxing.
Speaker AImagine them taking a breath and just.
Speaker AAnd your stomach, your abdomen and all those internal organs inside.
Speaker AJust imagine them breathing in and relaxing, releasing all of the tension, the toxins, releasing all of that energy.
Speaker AAnd then your legs and thighs, relaxing, relaxing right through to the bones, relaxing your knees, flexing your kneecaps, those bones.
Speaker AFeel your bones relaxing, relaxing your calves, bones relaxing right through.
Speaker AJust feeling that energy, vibrating and relaxing your ankles and your feet right through to the bones, relaxing, feeling that energy and relaxing.
Speaker AI'd like you to take a deep breath in and imagine all of you imagine all of those parts, your higher self, your unconscious mind aligning so you're sitting up straight and feeling the truth of all of you.
Speaker AIn alignment with Source, with energy, I'd like you to open the top of your head and allow the infinite source of love, light and healing.
Speaker AA light that bright, that flows through you and fills you up from your toes, fills you up to your legs, your knees, your thighs, fills you up through your abdomen, your chest, your arms, your hands, your fingers.
Speaker AAnd it's flowing out of your fingers, it's flowing out of your toes, fills you up into your shoulders and your neck and your head.
Speaker ASo that it you're flowing, the light of loving kindness, of healing, of Source.
Speaker AIt's deep love and compassion and it's flowing through your body.
Speaker AWhat I'd like you to do next is to place your hand over your heart and imagine you're looking at yourself in the mirror as you are now, being brutally honest with that mirror reflection, the current version of you.
Speaker AAnd you're looking at yourself.
Speaker AAnd I want you to repeat this, say your name.
Speaker ASo for me, it would be Heather.
Speaker AHeather, I love you.
Speaker AI accept you as you are.
Speaker AI commit to you, you are important, your life counts.
Speaker AAnd I want you to repeat it again.
Speaker AHeather, I love you.
Speaker AI accept you as you are.
Speaker AI commit to you, you are important, your life counts.
Speaker AI want you to pause this recording and repeat that.
Speaker ATo really feel it, to get the true sense in your heart, in your complete being.
Speaker ATill you feel that love, the unconditional love for who you be.
Speaker ADid you get that sense of who you are at the core, that light, that spark of life that exists to illuminate your place in the world.
Speaker AUnderstanding that you are important, that you do matter, your life matters, just as you are.
Speaker AAnd when you're ready, when that's really settled and you get a full sense of that, I want you to imagine your heart glowing like a star and all of that love moving throughout your body, joining in that stream of light and love and healing.
Speaker AAnd this is your heart's love, your connection to that open hearted love for yourself and for all around you and for the planet.
Speaker AYou sit with that and just bask in that glow of that love and sending that light to every cell in your body, to all of the DNA in your body, and requesting that that light changes any beliefs, any doubts, any blocks to you being and accepting who you truly are fully in this lifetime.
Speaker ASo it removes any blocks to you showing up fully enjoy in happiness on purpose.
Speaker AJust imagine that light in every cell and every cell, changing and changing your DNA, going right into your DNA and rewriting it for joy, for happiness, for living purposefully as who you truly are.
Speaker AAnd then when you're ready to come back slowly to the room, wriggling your toes, wriggling your fingers, maybe take a stretch and open your eyes and bringing that feeling back with you into your day.
Speaker AFeeling of love, acceptance and absolute permission to be joyful.
Speaker ATo embrace happiness and love and self care and joy in just being alive.
Speaker AThen choose three ways.
Speaker AThey might be just small moments that you can choose today to express joy in your life.
Speaker ADo something that's joyful for you.
Speaker AWhether it's taking five minutes to dance around the kitchen, whether it's baking or cooking and putting joy and love into that whatever it is that you love to do that you might deny yourself because you haven't got time, because there's more important things to do.
Speaker AWhether it's playing music, whether it's reading a book, whether it's giving your self time to meditate, whether it's giving yourself time to take a walk in nature, whatever it is that brings you joy that maybe you've been denying yourself.
Speaker AAnd the final part is to reflect.
Speaker ATake this into seven days and notice the difference between who you maybe are being now and who you are at the end of the seven days.
Speaker AAccepting yourself for all of you for who you are, for what you do, for what you bring to the world, and taking time to acknowledge the gift that you are and who you are when you show up fully and give your gift to the world.

Speaker ABecause happiness isn't about what you do, it's about who you be.
