Trey Gerrald:

Hey Queens.

Trey Gerrald:

Here's a quick editing note.

Trey Gerrald:

This week Chelsey was in town and we recorded with her in my guest bedroom,

Trey Gerrald:

So you will notice that her audio quality is just a touch echo-y.

Trey Gerrald:

I apologize.

Trey Gerrald:

It's completely my fault.

Trey Gerrald:

We will do better moving forward.

Trey Gerrald:

Regardless, this is a very fun episode.

Trey Gerrald:

Bear with us.

Trey Gerrald:

Next week everything goes back to normal audio wise, and we love you for listening.

Trey Gerrald:

Enjoy the show.

Trey Gerrald:

[Theme Song]

VOICEOVER:

Ah.,

Chelsey Donn:

Hi.

Trey Gerrald:

Hello.

Trey Gerrald:

Oh, look at you in that that fancy bedroom.

Chelsey Donn:

I wonder where I could be with this fancy lighting.

Chelsey Donn:

That's very similar to yours.

Trey Gerrald:

Anyway.

Trey Gerrald:

Hello everyone.

Trey Gerrald:

Welcome to Review That Review the podcast dedicated to reviewing

Chelsey Donn:

Reviews!

Chelsey Donn:

We're just like Siskel & Ebert, only instead of reviewing cinematic masterpieces, we

Trey Gerrald:

That's Chelsey, Donn.

Chelsey Donn:

And that's Trey Gerrald.

Trey Gerrald:

And together we're

VOICEOVER:

The Review Queens!

Trey Gerrald:

OMG Chelsey.

Trey Gerrald:

You are in my guest bedroom and you are wearing my blue light blocking glasses.

Trey Gerrald:

And you are looking very chic.

Trey Gerrald:

Might I say?

Chelsey Donn:

Thank you!

Chelsey Donn:

It's always nice to have a new pair.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm home visiting my family.

Chelsey Donn:

It's my sister.

Chelsey Donn:

Sorry, my sister's daughter.

Chelsey Donn:

That's a weird way of saying my niece.

Chelsey Donn:

It's like my niece and my dad's birthday's both the same day.

Chelsey Donn:

So it's a two for one.

Chelsey Donn:

And I came in for that and my niece had a unicorn Barbie yoga birthday.

Trey Gerrald:

Wow.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

Very specific!

Chelsey Donn:

But she loves them all equally.

Chelsey Donn:

So she just had to go for a three for one.

Chelsey Donn:

And I just think it's amazing that a kid would want to do yoga for their birthday.

Chelsey Donn:

Like I can't imagine ever being like, 'let's do a workout class!' But good for her, you know?

Trey Gerrald:

Oh my Gosh.

Chelsey Donn:

She's adorable.

Chelsey Donn:

How was your week?

Trey Gerrald:

I've had a good week.

Trey Gerrald:

You know, we got really were recording on a Thursday.

Trey Gerrald:

'Tell me on a Sunday, please.' I don't know why I just thought of that.

Trey Gerrald:

I've had a good week.

Trey Gerrald:

It's uh, another wonderful, like fall weather time, I'm wearing a sweater.

Trey Gerrald:

It's a little hot.

Trey Gerrald:

It's a little hot for it, but I'm like so into it.

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

It's been a good week.

Trey Gerrald:

I'm happy to be back and recording with you my Queen.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm so happy to be here too.

Chelsey Donn:

I got a couple of new sweaters too.

Chelsey Donn:

It's like as soon as it starts to get even the littlest bit chilly, you're like, I

Chelsey Donn:

I'm wearing as like very preppy attire.

Trey Gerrald:

It looks that!

Chelsey Donn:

Thank you.

Chelsey Donn:

I had an audition earlier where I was playing a manager and this was,

Trey Gerrald:

Wow.

Trey Gerrald:

I feel like this podcast gives you a lot of experience with channeling management.

Chelsey Donn:

It's true.

Chelsey Donn:

It is true.

Chelsey Donn:

It is true.

Chelsey Donn:

It was interesting to be on the other side, I will say.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

Um, and with that in mind, Trey, do you have a complaint that you would like to Lodge

Trey Gerrald:

Yes, Manager.

Trey Gerrald:

I need your attention because I'm here to

VOICEOVER:

Lodge a Complaint

Trey Gerrald:

against nightmares.

Chelsey Donn:

Ah, terrible.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

So this actually happened, and this is following our, um, home state episode

Trey Gerrald:

And I don't know if you ever have this, but I have this recurring, it's sometimes

Trey Gerrald:

trauma from my high school, you know, there were 15 of us, five of us were cut.

Trey Gerrald:

So it always felt like you were unsafe, which I am owning that that is my experience.

Trey Gerrald:

And I'm gonna talk about it.

Trey Gerrald:

So.

Chelsey Donn:

Own it.

Chelsey Donn:

Queen!

Trey Gerrald:

I...

Trey Gerrald:

thank you.

Trey Gerrald:

So I still to this day will have nightmares.

Trey Gerrald:

Like, this literally happened earlier this week and I texted two of my friends that

Trey Gerrald:

It was like you would go into this board room and sit at the end of a huge conference table-

Chelsey Donn:

We called them juries in college.

Chelsey Donn:

Is it the same, same idea?

Trey Gerrald:

Similar.

Trey Gerrald:

But um, you didn't have to do a performance.

Trey Gerrald:

It was like, sort of, they just were sort of like evaluating you on the entire semester,

Chelsey Donn:

Well, a jury.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

But they would ask us to do stuff.

Trey Gerrald:

Right.

Trey Gerrald:

So this was based on all of the performances throughout the, like working in the classes.

Chelsey Donn:

It was just like a one-on-one meeting assessment.

Trey Gerrald:

With every faculty member.

Trey Gerrald:

And you.

Chelsey Donn:

Wow.

Trey Gerrald:

At a board table and they would, each teacher had

Trey Gerrald:

- Chelsey Donn: At a board table?

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah, it was a literal boardroom, like you're doing 'don't fuck

Trey Gerrald:

- Chelsey Donn: That's nightmarish.

Trey Gerrald:

It was, and each teacher had their own set of rosters for like their disciplines.

Trey Gerrald:

And you would sit there.

Trey Gerrald:

And I remember being so traumatized that I illegally brought in a

Trey Gerrald:

To record them berating me because I thought I would like sue them or something.

Trey Gerrald:

This is like we're in the weeds.

Trey Gerrald:

They were always great.

Trey Gerrald:

They always were never mean to me.

Trey Gerrald:

They just never thought I was spectacular enough to like, be a huge success, which whatever.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

I just never, it doesn't matter, but so I still have these nightmares.

Trey Gerrald:

The other day, I had a nightmare that I was preparing to go in for this adjudication.

Trey Gerrald:

And they had suddenly there were 10 strangers and there were all alternates

Trey Gerrald:

So I texted my friends, Lucinda and Lauren, and were like 'another high school nightmare.' And

Trey Gerrald:

I'm lodging that cause nightmares, especially when they wake you up and you're like in

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah!

Trey Gerrald:

I guess there's some repressed trauma I'm realizing as I'm speaking this

Trey Gerrald:

Why do our brains do that?

Trey Gerrald:

Like, the mind is so miraculous, like we're processing all of the stuff

Trey Gerrald:

And this is, you know, I graduated high school in '04, so this is like, deep-rooted.

Trey Gerrald:

I don't know why my mind is still trying to work that out, but I'm, I'm lodging

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

Not a good feeling.

Chelsey Donn:

Also.

Chelsey Donn:

I just feel like in my nightmares, there's always some challenge that I need to

Chelsey Donn:

It's like, it's an unsolvable mystery.

Chelsey Donn:

That's why.

Trey Gerrald:

I also have a lot of frequent nightmares where my teeth fall out.

Trey Gerrald:

That happens a lot to me.

Trey Gerrald:

I have that a lot.

Chelsey Donn:

A lot?

Chelsey Donn:

That, that one, I mean, we can talk about this on the, on the, uh, Patreon, but that,

Trey Gerrald:

I've heard that.

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

We can talk about later.

Trey Gerrald:

I'm gonna make a note.

Trey Gerrald:

What about you?

Trey Gerrald:

What do you want to Lodge A Complaint against?

Chelsey Donn:

Thank you for asking.

Chelsey Donn:

I want a Lodge, A Complaint.

Chelsey Donn:

Now I know I complain a lot about driving it's because I live in LA and

Chelsey Donn:

So I don't know why I feel like I need to preface this complaint with this,

Chelsey Donn:

We all have somewhere to go.

Chelsey Donn:

And I'm someone that is very much like let's all get there as quickly and safely.

Chelsey Donn:

As possible.

Chelsey Donn:

So that being said, I really hate it when I'm driving and you can make a right turn on red.

Chelsey Donn:

And someone's behind you and they're honking at you.

Trey Gerrald:

Oh my God.

Chelsey Donn:

The light is red.

Chelsey Donn:

It's an option.

Chelsey Donn:

Is it not?

Chelsey Donn:

It's an option to turn right on red and I'm not turning right at that very moment.

Chelsey Donn:

Cause it's not safe because there's a pedestrian walking or there's a car coming.

Chelsey Donn:

There's a reason why I'm just not turning right.

Chelsey Donn:

Like if the road was wide and clear and open and it was red and I was able

Chelsey Donn:

So it's just so obnoxious to me when there are people that will honk at me to turn and, and

Chelsey Donn:

Does this happen to you?

Trey Gerrald:

I feel like you always Lodge A Complaint and it triggers like something

Trey Gerrald:

But now in New Jersey, it's both.

Trey Gerrald:

Sometimes you'll have a no turn on red.

Trey Gerrald:

And sometimes you can.

Chelsey Donn:

And same in LA.

Trey Gerrald:

So I get so stressed out anytime I am at the light in the turn lane, because-

Chelsey Donn:

Like you're the first position?

Trey Gerrald:

Cause I can't tell if it is illegal or not.

Trey Gerrald:

'cause in New York.

Trey Gerrald:

you just can't ever.

Trey Gerrald:

So I'm like so accustomed to that.

Trey Gerrald:

And then I start literally getting so worked up like, oh no, there's a car coming.

Trey Gerrald:

It's behind me.

Trey Gerrald:

It's on my bumper.

Trey Gerrald:

Am I supposed to turn them on?

Trey Gerrald:

I start.

Trey Gerrald:

And then they honk at you.

Trey Gerrald:

And then you're like, what am I, you know, it's like helpless.

Trey Gerrald:

I feel helpless.

Trey Gerrald:

So yes, I totally recognize

Chelsey Donn:

I mean, also there's like a honking language, you know, like there's like

Trey Gerrald:

toot!

Chelsey Donn:

Maybe this person.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

Like a, "toot toot!"

Chelsey Donn:

Maybe this person didn't realize they're supposed to turn on red.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm fine with a little toot, but like a full bleeeeh, like honk, like, yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

Like that is so inappropriate when the light is red.

Trey Gerrald:

I agree.

Chelsey Donn:

Anyway, Complaint Lodged.

Trey Gerrald:

That got me.

Trey Gerrald:

You got me with that.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm glad.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm glad.

Chelsey Donn:

It's not just me because man, I got so annoyed the other day, right before I left LA it happened.

Chelsey Donn:

And I was just like, I can't with you.

Trey Gerrald:

Did you bottom out your car?

Chelsey Donn:

I didn't bottom out my car.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay good.

Chelsey Donn:

Thank goodness.

Trey Gerrald:

Well, I'm glad that we're laughing.

Trey Gerrald:

Why don't we take this laughter and channel it and just some online reviews.

Trey Gerrald:

How do you feel about that?

Chelsey Donn:

Oh, my God, they feel so good about that.

Trey Gerrald:

Good.

Chelsey Donn:

How do you feel?

Trey Gerrald:

I feel ready.

Trey Gerrald:

I feel ready to read.

Chelsey Donn:

I feel ready.

Chelsey Donn:

I didn't stretch, but I'm ready.

Trey Gerrald:

All right.

Trey Gerrald:

So as you all know, Chelsey and I are your trusty Review Queens.

Trey Gerrald:

We each bring in a review from the internet that we feel needs to be inspected.

Chelsey Donn:

We read you the review.

Chelsey Donn:

We break it down and rate the impact of the review on a scale from one to five crowns.

Chelsey Donn:

It's a very Regal process that we call

VOICEOVER:

Assess that Kvetch!

Trey Gerrald:

And Chelsey my girl, you first, today.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm first?!

Chelsey Donn:

I'm so honored!

Trey Gerrald:

Take it away.

Trey Gerrald:

RQ

VOICEOVER:

Review That Review.

Chelsey Donn:

All right.

Chelsey Donn:

You guys, I am coming at you today with a brand new source, cause I just

Chelsey Donn:

So this review is from Houzz.

Chelsey Donn:

It's spelled H O U Z Z.

Chelsey Donn:

It's a one stop shop for all of your designer needs and you can hire a designer from there.

Chelsey Donn:

And then I think they even have their own products a little bit.

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

And it's like a, a staple for commercials on HGTV.

Chelsey Donn:

Sure.

Chelsey Donn:

So this review is from Houzz and it is for a design company called Design Works.

Chelsey Donn:

Uh, it is a one-star review.

Chelsey Donn:

Interestingly written by S&W Investments, LLC.

Chelsey Donn:

And that's S ampersand W.

Trey Gerrald:

Oh.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

All right.

Chelsey Donn:

So let's hear it.

Chelsey Donn:

Shall we?

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah!

Chelsey Donn:

Do not hire Design Works.

Chelsey Donn:

Robin doesn't care about the finished product.

Chelsey Donn:

Only cares about the money she'll make.

Chelsey Donn:

On the day of install, which should have been the completion day.

Chelsey Donn:

She only had two thirds of the furniture in, only put up half of the decor needed to fill the home.

Chelsey Donn:

And there was no artwork.

Chelsey Donn:

She also waited to order the bath accessories until two days before install.

Chelsey Donn:

So they were over two weeks late.

Chelsey Donn:

Then she never came back to finish the project.

Chelsey Donn:

We got tired off making the phone calls, asking when things would get done and only

Chelsey Donn:

We started working with her six months before the home was finished.

Chelsey Donn:

So it wasn't a case of rush deadlines by any means.

Chelsey Donn:

She's considered a distributor for some of the furniture lines.

Chelsey Donn:

And we had a few items with defects for issues.

Chelsey Donn:

She ignores our calls and emails, asking for the items to be fixed.

Chelsey Donn:

She never treats you like the client or cares about doing a good job.

Chelsey Donn:

Her excuse is always, 'welcome to my world.'

Chelsey Donn:

She ordered pieces that don't fit or are completely off the color scheme, bar stools

Chelsey Donn:

A yellow cream headboard in a completely white and gray room.

Trey Gerrald:

Eww!

Chelsey Donn:

Be aware of this designer.

Chelsey Donn:

She asks for her fee to be paid in full 12 weeks after signing the contract,

Chelsey Donn:

And then doesn't finish the project and doesn't care.

Chelsey Donn:

S&W!

Trey Gerrald:

Okay, wait, I'm very curious by this username S & W Investments, LLC.

Trey Gerrald:

It's very ballsy to leave this review with like your LLC, which

Trey Gerrald:

very extremely.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

They're not hiding or are they?

Trey Gerrald:

But see.

Trey Gerrald:

That's also what I'm wondering..

Trey Gerrald:

like, S&W Investments, do you think that this is like a rich person's like investment

Trey Gerrald:

Or do you like, do you think this is, do you think that S and w had one home that they're living in

Chelsey Donn:

I think that's a good question.

Chelsey Donn:

I had the same thought when I saw S & W Investments, LLC, as the writer of this Review.

Chelsey Donn:

Cause I thought that sounds like a business, not a personal home, but then when they're talking

Chelsey Donn:

Or would you kind of know...?

Trey Gerrald:

I mean, I was curious, like, if, if they didn't have that username,

Trey Gerrald:

So maybe it's a little, like, it doesn't matter actually, but I was just taken by

Chelsey Donn:

I know.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

I have personally dealt with renovations on, two separate properties, like full reno.

Trey Gerrald:

The whole thing.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

And designers are a little bit different.

Trey Gerrald:

It's usually like construction people are-

Chelsey Donn:

Was this a reno?

Trey Gerrald:

No, we, it was fully done, but no one ever sticks to a timeline in that world.

Trey Gerrald:

You know, my sister was a property manager and like timelines are like a joke.

Trey Gerrald:

No, one's trying to honor the timeline that they tell you.

Trey Gerrald:

Designers is a different situation though.

Trey Gerrald:

You know, it's all about ordering and like addressing the lead time so

Trey Gerrald:

So that's very interesting, the whole conversation about the designer is a distributor for the thing.

Trey Gerrald:

And then there's defects.

Trey Gerrald:

Like, it all seems very complicated because you obviously want to use the

Chelsey Donn:

Correct.

Trey Gerrald:

I mean, it makes me feel a little nerv...

Trey Gerrald:

I mean, it makes the communication, the fact that like communication ceased until payment

Trey Gerrald:

That's very, that's very hard for Trey personally, to bounce back from, like, I

Trey Gerrald:

I'm never, that is a deal breaker to me.

Trey Gerrald:

The whole thing about being paid 12 weeks after contract, like that's

Trey Gerrald:

You've got to read these contracts because that if that's in the contract, well then there you go.

Trey Gerrald:

Like, you should have looked at that.

Trey Gerrald:

That's like sort of tricky, tricky, but like, if you're not gonna like speak, like you are

Trey Gerrald:

The whole, the whole thing about a 30 inch table with a 27 inch stool.

Trey Gerrald:

That is so funny to me.

Trey Gerrald:

That's a three inch gap.

Chelsey Donn:

I know how horrible for your knees.

Chelsey Donn:

I mean, the one thing I will say, I think there was some timeline stuff with S&W that was a bit

Chelsey Donn:

So first they say they started working with her over her Robin at Design Works

Trey Gerrald:

Right.

Chelsey Donn:

Right?

Chelsey Donn:

So I'm wondering at what point they sign the contract.

Chelsey Donn:

Now, the reason why I feel like this is important is because they say that it needs to be paid

Chelsey Donn:

Now, if we're looking at six months and we're looking at 12 weeks, so 12 weeks is three months.

Chelsey Donn:

So did they wait three months to sign the contract?

Chelsey Donn:

Because how are they?

Chelsey Donn:

They said that things went wrong and then we started to hold on the payment.

Chelsey Donn:

You know what I mean?

Chelsey Donn:

So I'm wondering.

Chelsey Donn:

When, when was the whole timeframe, because if we, if we started, if we agreed to work with

Trey Gerrald:

Right.

Trey Gerrald:

I wonder if there's a deposit that's required and then the entire payment

Trey Gerrald:

So maybe, they were in the process?

Chelsey Donn:

Maybe.

Chelsey Donn:

But I'm just saying still the time that doesn't really add up.

Trey Gerrald:

That is true.

Trey Gerrald:

Good point!

Chelsey Donn:

They started working with her six months before the home was finished, and then they

Chelsey Donn:

So maybe they didn't, I just I'm confused at how we stopped payment.

Chelsey Donn:

If we're asked to pay in full.

Trey Gerrald:

Right.

Trey Gerrald:

Unless it's in escrow?

Chelsey Donn:

Oh, I guess so.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

Maybe.

Trey Gerrald:

When is this review, by the way?

Trey Gerrald:

Like what year is it?

Chelsey Donn:

2020.

Trey Gerrald:

Because you know, the pandemic really caused a whole problem with delivery.

Trey Gerrald:

True.

Chelsey Donn:

Here, but here's the problem with that.

Chelsey Donn:

People understood that in 2020, I don't, I can't give S&W credit or not, but it seems like

Chelsey Donn:

Like if Robin had been communicating with them and said, 'I'm so sorry, things are

Chelsey Donn:

Robin just went ghosted them.

Chelsey Donn:

That's what I'm getting.

Trey Gerrald:

It's also interesting to me that, like they said that half

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

Because what I'm curious about is like, was there not a virtual design?

Trey Gerrald:

Like saying that some of the stuff was like cream and the room is grey.

Trey Gerrald:

Wasn't there an itemized list of like, this is what's, this is the

Trey Gerrald:

It's a little surprising to me that S & W did not know the color until it was in the property.

Chelsey Donn:

Agreed.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

I mean, what, where, where is S & W's responsibility within this?

Chelsey Donn:

If, if anywhere, even with the ordering of the bathroom items.

Chelsey Donn:

Was there a list where they were supposed to order the bath accessories and then they, flubbed and

Chelsey Donn:

So they were two weeks late.

Chelsey Donn:

Or do you think we forgot to ask about the bath accessories thinking that Robin

Chelsey Donn:

And then that was a flub.

Trey Gerrald:

Well, yeah, I mean, I, I think it's very clear there was breakdown

Chelsey Donn:

For sure.

Trey Gerrald:

The no artwork thing.

Trey Gerrald:

It's like, how do you start design?

Trey Gerrald:

I mean, every designer has their own process, but like you hire a designer to take the lead.

Chelsey Donn:

Right.

Chelsey Donn:

And you hit renderings.

Trey Gerrald:

You would think.

Chelsey Donn:

And I also understand the whole idea of needing a hard deadline

Chelsey Donn:

And so, like you're saying, I'm wondering, where were the renderings?

Chelsey Donn:

How come we didn't know that the colors were going to be completely off?

Chelsey Donn:

Was it that Robin was assuring us, that they weren't going to be.

Chelsey Donn:

And then when they were in the space, it was like, whoa, that doesn't look right.

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

Because I'm also curious about the scope of the project, but that just, again,

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

And I gotta say, I, I know we've, we've touched on this, but there's nothing

Chelsey Donn:

Like they just want to get the money from you.

Chelsey Donn:

They're not interested in doing the job.

Chelsey Donn:

You're just another number on their list and they don't care.

Chelsey Donn:

And then as soon as they get their money, they're gone.

Chelsey Donn:

Never to be heard of again, like.

Chelsey Donn:

Terrible.

Chelsey Donn:

And for, for that, I will say, sorry, Design Works, but if I read this Review and I was

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

It is very red flaggy.

Trey Gerrald:

What is the spelling and grammar like from S & W?

Chelsey Donn:

It's pretty good, except for that one

Chelsey Donn:

- Trey Gerrald: of!

Chelsey Donn:

Off instead of of, yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

That's so interesting to add an extra letter.

Trey Gerrald:

It's usually the reverse.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

I dunno.

Chelsey Donn:

Maybe they, there was a problem with the F key, but they, they, uh, they

Chelsey Donn:

A lot of caps.

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

I noticed that in the beginning.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

I guess my question is like, I'm not really sure how to gauge if this is

Chelsey Donn:

Oh!

Chelsey Donn:

I totally, I, sorry, I forgot to mention, there are a couple of images along with

Chelsey Donn:

Like there, it's touching the lip of the table, basically, so terrible on that.

Chelsey Donn:

And then just, yeah, the color of the yellowish headboard or whatever it is, um, next to the wall.

Chelsey Donn:

Well, it does look pretty bad.

Trey Gerrald:

See, those are like the Barstool situation is such a like rudimentary mistake.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

It's like, it does make me question like a, it could just be like a total fluke

Chelsey Donn:

Right.

Chelsey Donn:

And also in terms of customer service, I feel like designers back in the day, especially these

Chelsey Donn:

was sort of word of mouth, like some Susie from the neighborhood.

Chelsey Donn:

But now that we have places like Houzz.

Chelsey Donn:

I just think you have to be so careful with your customer service.

Chelsey Donn:

You can't just drop the ball because if Robin keeps doing this with everybody

Chelsey Donn:

So this is not a good move.

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

Not a good move, Robin.

Trey Gerrald:

I think I can crown this.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm ready to crown.

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah, let's do it.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

All right.

Trey Gerrald:

So Chelsey and I each have our own set of one to five crown cards and in an effort to

VOICEOVER:

The Queens are Tabulating.

Trey Gerrald:

All right.

Trey Gerrald:

You ready?

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

VOICEOVER:

Total Score!

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

I had a feeling this was going to happen.

Chelsey Donn:

All right.

Chelsey Donn:

Trey is holding up four crowns.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm holding up three and a half crowns.

Chelsey Donn:

Trey defend your four crowns.

Trey Gerrald:

I said four because I am really feeling influenced and

Trey Gerrald:

I mean, it's a one side of the story, but I do think that there, it just would make

Trey Gerrald:

I'm the customer.

Trey Gerrald:

The timeline is a red flag.

Trey Gerrald:

Like half of it being delivered on time is a an issue.

Trey Gerrald:

The fact that like the scope of the project could take longer than the

Trey Gerrald:

That just feels a little fishy to me.

Trey Gerrald:

Like it just a little like intentionally like catching you in a way.

Trey Gerrald:

And I don't know, the bar stool thing is just so funny to me.

Trey Gerrald:

And it's such a like...

Trey Gerrald:

that's like an amateur mistake.

Trey Gerrald:

So I said four crowns, cause I feel like the impact of this is

Trey Gerrald:

What about you?

Trey Gerrald:

Why did you do three and a half?

Chelsey Donn:

I did three and a half.

Chelsey Donn:

I agree with everything that you said.

Chelsey Donn:

I took away one and a half crowns.

Chelsey Donn:

Cause one, I just didn't, it wasn't an entertaining Review!

Chelsey Donn:

I wasn't like bowled over Review Queen status.

Chelsey Donn:

Like I love to be for my people that I make my Queens.

Chelsey Donn:

Um, so I took off.

Chelsey Donn:

some crowns for that.

Chelsey Donn:

And then also just, I was a little confused about the timeline.

Trey Gerrald:

Oh right!

Chelsey Donn:

And the lack of personality in the S & W Investments, LLC.

Chelsey Donn:

There is a photo next to it.

Chelsey Donn:

That is a person looks kind of stock imagey to me.

Chelsey Donn:

I know it didn't bring that up before, but I feel like there's just.

Chelsey Donn:

There there's a lack of, um, personality.

Chelsey Donn:

Like who am I?

Chelsey Donn:

Who am I talking to here?

Chelsey Donn:

That's why I took away the extra half crown for that.

Chelsey Donn:

So three and a half crowns for S & W but completely agree.

Chelsey Donn:

Sorry, Design Works.

Chelsey Donn:

That's going to be a no for me, dog.

Trey Gerrald:

Good job.

Trey Gerrald:

Fun review!

Chelsey Donn:

Thanks!

Chelsey Donn:

From a new place.

Trey Gerrald:

I know!

Chelsey Donn:

Okay, so let's take a quick break.

Chelsey Donn:

And when we come back, we can get into RQ-T's review, which I can't wait for.

Trey Gerrald:

Love it!

Trey Gerrald:

BRB,

VOICEOVER:

Trey Gerrald:

Chelsey let's get ready for a quick spin on the Meryl-Go-Round!

Chelsey Donn:

Yay!

VOICEOVER:

'I don't feel like an icon.

VOICEOVER:

Most of the days, I feel like 'I can't!' That's with an,.

VOICEOVER:

A'..

Chelsey Donn:

All right, Trey and I have each picked a rotten, scathing, pithy

Trey Gerrald:

Just like Queen Meryl, who does it all!

Chelsey Donn:

Before the clock runs out.

Chelsey Donn:

All right.

Chelsey Donn:

Trey.

Chelsey Donn:

What's your zinger from today?

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

I have a One-Star-Zinger today from target.com for Arm and Hammer Advanced White Extreme

Chelsey Donn:

Oh my God.

Chelsey Donn:

These long titles.

Trey Gerrald:

So the, this was written by Mama Lady.

Trey Gerrald:

The subject is 'yuck' and the zinger is 'tastes very badly on impact and even worse after.

Trey Gerrald:

I cried.'

Chelsey Donn:

Oh this is a long one, Trey!

Chelsey Donn:

She cried over the toothpaste.

Trey Gerrald:

Apparently.

Chelsey Donn:

That's some bad toothpaste if it's leading to tears.

Chelsey Donn:

All right.

Chelsey Donn:

So you are strapped into like a tape dispenser.

Trey Gerrald:

Great.

Chelsey Donn:

Right?

Chelsey Donn:

It seems sort of horse like?

Trey Gerrald:

I'm going to get stuck on ya.

Chelsey Donn:

All right.

Chelsey Donn:

Let's get started.

Chelsey Donn:

You ready?

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah!

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

VOICEOVER:

3, 2, 1, GO!

VOICEOVER:

Breaking news takes very badly on impact on even worst after I cried pop star

VOICEOVER:

Courtroom

VOICEOVER:

drama packed and even worse after a crowd

VOICEOVER:

auctioneer, after I fired lifetime

VOICEOVER:

teaser, especially on impact, even worse after I cried.

VOICEOVER:

That's all!

Chelsey Donn:

Oh my god, I'll give that to you just, cause I love seeing you do that..

Trey Gerrald:

My courtroom was like Inherit The Wind.

Trey Gerrald:

So southern.

Chelsey Donn:

I know it was very specific.

Chelsey Donn:

I love, I love the how southern you can get with these and still have them be a specific effect.

Chelsey Donn:

Right.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

That's five, Trey.

Chelsey Donn:

Wow.

Chelsey Donn:

Good job for such a long one.

Chelsey Donn:

That's amazing

Trey Gerrald:

Thank you!

Trey Gerrald:

That really went fast for me.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

How about you, Chels?

Trey Gerrald:

What is your One-Star-Zinger for today?

Chelsey Donn:

Thank you for asking.

Chelsey Donn:

So my zinger is from Amazon and it is for a burrito blanket.

Chelsey Donn:

You know, those

Chelsey Donn:

- Trey Gerrald: I hate you.

Chelsey Donn:

You keep finding these absurd gag gifts on Amazon.

Chelsey Donn:

I have a whole reserve.

Chelsey Donn:

I was going to do target.

Chelsey Donn:

And then I was like, 'let me pull one of the gag gifts out.' So this is for.

Chelsey Donn:

I just think these are so funny, like, I, I can't imagine someone that would want

Chelsey Donn:

It's kind of great.

Chelsey Donn:

All right.

Chelsey Donn:

Anyway, so this One-Star-Zinger is written by Leslie.

Chelsey Donn:

And Leslie.

Chelsey Donn:

The subject is 'misleading!' And their review is, 'nothing like the picture, not even close, Boo!'

Trey Gerrald:

Oh, dear.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

All right.

Trey Gerrald:

So today you're going to be strapping in, on a giant staple gun.

Chelsey Donn:

Yes.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh my God.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm a little afraid of those, but I love it.

Chelsey Donn:

It makes me feel powerful.

Trey Gerrald:

All right, you're ready?

Chelsey Donn:

Yes, I'm ready.

VOICEOVER:

3, 2, 1, GO!

VOICEOVER:

Shakespeare.

VOICEOVER:

The picture, not even close.

VOICEOVER:

Ooh,

VOICEOVER:

opera

VOICEOVER:

singer pop star.

VOICEOVER:

Nothing like the picture

VOICEOVER:

romcom, nothing

VOICEOVER:

like the picture I don't even close.

Trey Gerrald:

Oh my God.

Trey Gerrald:

The way you sang boo.

VOICEOVER:

That's All!

Trey Gerrald:

That killed me.

Trey Gerrald:

Wait, you got five too.

Chelsey Donn:

Tie!

Chelsey Donn:

I love when we tie

Trey Gerrald:

Alright.

Trey Gerrald:

Good for us.

Chelsey Donn:

Yes.

VOICEOVER:

Review That Review.

Chelsey Donn:

All right.

Chelsey Donn:

We are back from that rousing game break.

Chelsey Donn:

And it's your turn?

Chelsey Donn:

Trey.

Trey Gerrald:

I knew you were going to say rousing.

Trey Gerrald:

I just knew it.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm feeling very staple guny still.

Chelsey Donn:

All right.

Chelsey Donn:

Where is your review from this week, Trey?

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

Today I have a one star review from trustpilot for the world famous Yankee Candle Company.

Chelsey Donn:

Mmm!

Chelsey Donn:

Yes.

Trey Gerrald:

And this is written by B Tattan.

Chelsey Donn:

Just the letter B?

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

B...

Trey Gerrald:

T A T T A N.

Chelsey Donn:

T T A N...!

Trey Gerrald:

But when I first read it, I thought it was B Tatlin'.

Trey Gerrald:

Like "Be Tattle Tale'n!.

Trey Gerrald:

Tatlin!

Chelsey Donn:

Oh!

Chelsey Donn:

Be tat..I'll be tat and be Tatlin on, on Yankee Candle though.

Chelsey Donn:

That's a good one.

Chelsey Donn:

I like that.

Trey Gerrald:

The subject is, all caps, FRAUD!, YANKEE CANDLE FRAUD!

Chelsey Donn:

Okay!

Trey Gerrald:

Okay, here we go.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

FRAUD!

Trey Gerrald:

DO NOT BUY FROM YANKEE CANDLE!

Trey Gerrald:

They send emails with FAKE promotions and deny every portion of it.

Trey Gerrald:

The representative, Nicole, was very sweet and I feel bad that she was placed in this position.

Trey Gerrald:

I received an email from Yankee Candle at 8:32 on 8/28 that stated it was a BUY 1 GET 2 FREE.

Trey Gerrald:

I bought TWO candles expecting that I would get FOUR candles if I bought two.

Trey Gerrald:

This promotion had no code, ANYWHERE!

Trey Gerrald:

Under each picture was written in RED, "BUY 2 JAR CANDLES AT REGULAR PRICE AND GET 2 FREE."

Trey Gerrald:

I ordered TWO PUMPKIN SPICE CANDLES EXPECTING TO GET TWO FREE.

Trey Gerrald:

There was no mention of the two free candles in the summary.

Trey Gerrald:

I then called Yankee Candle to explain the issue I was having.

Trey Gerrald:

I spoke to a lovely young lady named Nicole.

Trey Gerrald:

Nicole asked for the promotion.

Trey Gerrald:

And I told her that there was nothing at the top of the page.

Trey Gerrald:

But, under each picture was a statement in RED indicating each candle featured was

Trey Gerrald:

NOT SO!

Trey Gerrald:

According to Nicole, if I wanted 2, I should have ordered FOUR!

Trey Gerrald:

That point was never mentioned, NEVER!

Trey Gerrald:

Nicole requested that I be sent the two candles that were part of the promotion and I think.

Trey Gerrald:

However, at this point I had been trying for over an hour to get this thing done.

Trey Gerrald:

I then informed her that YC should give me the order free of charge and she consulted with

Trey Gerrald:

This ENTIRE PROMOTION IS A SCAM!

Trey Gerrald:

Don't fall for any YC promotions.

Trey Gerrald:

They have NO INTEGRITY and do not want the consumer to get any kind of a break.

Trey Gerrald:

I am going to follow up with the complaint to the FCC.

Trey Gerrald:

This company needs to be held accountable for lying.

Trey Gerrald:

I wasted almost TWO HOURS trying to buy a candle!

Trey Gerrald:

I feel bad for Nicole.

Trey Gerrald:

Get out now and get a reputable job.

Trey Gerrald:

You can do much better than this.

Chelsey Donn:

I didn't like that exit line, but we'll talk about that later.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

B Tattan!

Chelsey Donn:

B Tattan.

Chelsey Donn:

So based on the read, I'm going to go ahead and assume that B Tattan used a lot of all

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

As I like started doing that, I was like, why did I start screaming these?

Trey Gerrald:

Because this whole Review it's just screaming.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

I had a feeling.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

Now the offer was Buy 1, Get 1 Free or Buy 2, Get 1 Free.

Chelsey Donn:

What was the offer?

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

That switches around.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

So they say the email that arrived at 8:32 on 8/28.

Trey Gerrald:

Stated Buy 1, Get 2 Free.

Chelsey Donn:

Buy 1, Get 2 Free.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

So they bought two expecting that they would get four.

Trey Gerrald:

'Under each picture was written in red, Buy 2 jar candles at the regular price and get 2 free.'

Chelsey Donn:

Hmm...okay.

Trey Gerrald:

So they have just said that it's buy one, get two.

Trey Gerrald:

And then they just said, it's buy two, get two.

Trey Gerrald:

And then later they say to Nicole, buy one, get one jar candle free.

Trey Gerrald:

That's three different promos.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm not trying to be ageist, certainly, but I don't know why I get the

Trey Gerrald:

Me too!

Chelsey Donn:

Now while maybe there was some miscommunication here, it seems

Chelsey Donn:

First, honestly, when you started reading this Review, Trey, I thought that the email

Chelsey Donn:

And they're like click here for this promo, but then you click there and it takes you to like,

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

My thing is that if there was a promo would, okay.

Chelsey Donn:

If there was a promo and it said, buy two, get two free.

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

And you're, you, Trey, would you put four in your cart or would you put two?

Trey Gerrald:

See?

Trey Gerrald:

I don't know.

Trey Gerrald:

Cause now I think I'm just confused from this Review!

Trey Gerrald:

because I would look at, I don't know.

Trey Gerrald:

I don't know if I would, but there's no code.

Trey Gerrald:

So there's no promo code listed.

Trey Gerrald:

So I think maybe I would just put two.

Chelsey Donn:

Really?

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

Interesting.

Trey Gerrald:

But I don't know.

Chelsey Donn:

Because I think I would put four and I would see if, when I went to checkout,

Trey Gerrald:

If the price changed?

Chelsey Donn:

If it, if it took the two off, that would be my assumption.

Chelsey Donn:

And I don't know if that's just a me thing, but I feel like that's what I would do.

Chelsey Donn:

And I always assume that whatever it is I'm seeing on my checkout, like in my checkout

Chelsey Donn:

So if I don't put four candles in that cart, I don't expect that I'm going to see four candles

Chelsey Donn:

So, what I would have probably done is put the four candles in my cart and if it was

Chelsey Donn:

It took two hours.

Trey Gerrald:

That literally, was the next thing I was going to say, they say that they were

Trey Gerrald:

And then at the end they say, I wasted almost two hours.

Chelsey Donn:

Right.

Chelsey Donn:

Which is it?

Chelsey Donn:

Which is it B Tattan?

Trey Gerrald:

It is interesting because I did also assume that this reviewer is a little bit older.

Trey Gerrald:

I don't know why.

Trey Gerrald:

Oh, I think probably why we think this is cause they call Nicole a lovely young lady.

Chelsey Donn:

Yes!

Chelsey Donn:

Maybe that's it.

Chelsey Donn:

And just, even in the beginning, I got the vibe, like I said, when I thought maybe

Trey Gerrald:

Do you think that this is fraud?

Chelsey Donn:

I don't.

Chelsey Donn:

I think it's a little weird and a little bit of a stretch to call it fraud.

Chelsey Donn:

Now here's the other part where I'm confused.

Chelsey Donn:

So B Tattan put 2 in her cart, whatever, again, you said you might've done that so fine.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm not going to blame her for that or them for that, but they then did rectify the issue and sent

Chelsey Donn:

But then

Chelsey Donn:

- Trey Gerrald: It seems that Nicole was able

Chelsey Donn:

Correct.

Chelsey Donn:

So now it is, alright.

Chelsey Donn:

B Tattan, you think you're, you deserve two, four, for the price of two.

Chelsey Donn:

You got four for the price of two.

Chelsey Donn:

Now you're angry that you wasted time.

Chelsey Donn:

So now you want to pay zero for four, right?

Trey Gerrald:

That's what comes up.

Chelsey Donn:

Do we think that that's fair?

Trey Gerrald:

What is the size of these jar candles?

Chelsey Donn:

Well, there are different sizes, but, but a typical Yankee

Chelsey Donn:

I would say like a Mason jar.

Trey Gerrald:

I do think that it is suspicious that there is no promo code that would take

Trey Gerrald:

Or take the price off, but

Trey Gerrald:

- Chelsey Donn: Yeah, but I just think that in a

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

It is interesting to me because it isn't as straight forward.

Trey Gerrald:

I don't know that I've, I don't know if I've ever gotten a, buy two, get two free on the internet.

Trey Gerrald:

Like, I don't know that I have encountered this.

Chelsey Donn:

Right.

Chelsey Donn:

And that's also confusing.

Chelsey Donn:

Cause I almost wonder, it sounds like Nicole, bless her heart.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm turning into a Southern person, handled this very well.

Chelsey Donn:

And again, I don't want to be discrediting B Tattan, but there is a part of me

Chelsey Donn:

She thought it was buy one, get two, buy two, get one.

Chelsey Donn:

Like, and whatever it was, they came to the decision that it was that she was

Chelsey Donn:

And then that wasn't good enough for B Tattan you know, like B Tattan wanted a

Chelsey Donn:

Maybe trying to squeeze like another promo code or I an expedited shipping on the

Chelsey Donn:

I think that there's things to be like, there's a little bit of wiggle room that I'm sure

Chelsey Donn:

Maybe Nicole would be like, you know, I hear you, like here's an extra 50% off coupon

Chelsey Donn:

I think that's a bit of a leap for me.

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

I don't think that B is entitled to that.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah, I don't!

Trey Gerrald:

But I do respect asking.

Trey Gerrald:

Cause you never get what you don't ask for.

Chelsey Donn:

Cuz Squeaky Wheel!

Trey Gerrald:

But I don't think that that means they have no integrity.

Trey Gerrald:

That they don't want their consumer to get any kind of break.

Trey Gerrald:

I mean, it's literally a Buy 2, Get 2.

Chelsey Donn:

Exactly.

Chelsey Donn:

I don't think it's that big of a deal.

Chelsey Donn:

I just think we're making this such a big deal when I feel like, yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

Maybe the promo should have been a little more clear.

Chelsey Donn:

Maybe there was a little bit of a discrepancy between the email.

Chelsey Donn:

And the front page of the website, but I just think we're really taking it to a place where

Chelsey Donn:

You can do it.

Chelsey Donn:

Like you can get a better job.

Chelsey Donn:

It's like, you don't know Nicole's story or how difficult it is to get a job

Chelsey Donn:

I just think that's, that's wrong.

Chelsey Donn:

That's crossing a line.

Trey Gerrald:

It is interesting to me cause I, I partially why I liked the server view is because

Trey Gerrald:

But has so much care for Nicole that it's so like odd to me.

Chelsey Donn:

Well, that's why, that's why up until this last sentence I

Chelsey Donn:

I was going to say, like, we usually do.

Chelsey Donn:

I appreciate when a negative review can still give credit to part of

Chelsey Donn:

And I was about to do that for B, but when they then went back and gave like, Nicole, this

Trey Gerrald:

I dunno, it didn't, it didn't honestly, it didn't occur to me that way.

Trey Gerrald:

No.

Trey Gerrald:

I just sort of thought it was like, I don't know.

Trey Gerrald:

It's like your, this is all about candles.

Trey Gerrald:

Like, why is it, why is it so why is it turning into life advice?

Chelsey Donn:

And this is such a big company that, and we're going to trustpilot.

Chelsey Donn:

So we're lodging a complaint against Yankee Candle at large.

Chelsey Donn:

And I know that we're making an order online.

Chelsey Donn:

It's not like it's to a specific store, but it just seems like, man, like

Chelsey Donn:

You did end up getting the deal.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm sorry, you lost two hours of your life.

Chelsey Donn:

That sucks, nobody likes to be on hold and deal with all that.

Chelsey Donn:

But you did end up getting something for free.

Trey Gerrald:

Well, it's also curious to me because it seems like Nicole

Trey Gerrald:

and it seems like Nicole was able to fix the problem.

Trey Gerrald:

And there's no communication about having to wait on the phone to reach Nicole.

Trey Gerrald:

So I'm wondering like how much of the two hours or the one hour was spent, trying

Chelsey Donn:

Interesting.

Trey Gerrald:

That's also left out of the story.

Chelsey Donn:

That's a good point.

Trey Gerrald:

Also.

Trey Gerrald:

Have you ever seen the episode of Undercover Boss with Yankee Candle?

Chelsey Donn:

I love Undercover Boss, but I don't know if I've seen that episode.

Trey Gerrald:

I just never understand how people don't clock, the horrible makeup and wigs.

Chelsey Donn:

Why that they dont...oh, oh.

Chelsey Donn:

People don't clock the like Undercover Boss wearing the like very fake Dollar Store wig.

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

It's like, you can't tell that this is like a Sven wig from Frozen?

Chelsey Donn:

I know it does seem like some of them are playing along.

Trey Gerrald:

All right.

Trey Gerrald:

I think I can, I think I can crown this.

Trey Gerrald:

How about you?

Chelsey Donn:

I just want to know like, other than the abuse of the caps,

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

I don't think there are any misspellings.

Trey Gerrald:

It's just so much caps.

Trey Gerrald:

At Like random points.

Trey Gerrald:

Like why does TWO PUMPKIN SPICE CANDLES ECPECTING TO GET TWO FREE, why is that in caps?

Chelsey Donn:

Right.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

I don't know.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

Let's crown her.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

VOICEOVER:

The Queens Are Tabulating.

Trey Gerrald:

Alright.

Trey Gerrald:

You got it?

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

VOICEOVER:

Total Score!

Chelsey Donn:

Trey!

Chelsey Donn:

Oh!

Chelsey Donn:

Queens are unanimous!

Chelsey Donn:

Two crowns, two crowns!

Chelsey Donn:

Look at that!

Trey Gerrald:

Chelsey.

Trey Gerrald:

Tell me, why did you do two?

Chelsey Donn:

cause I thought I will give B Tattan.

Chelsey Donn:

It sounded like the promo was confusing.

Chelsey Donn:

They could have been a little bit more straightforward with what they were offering and

Chelsey Donn:

But outside of that, I just felt like B Tattan was a bit out of line a bit,

Chelsey Donn:

So that was why I gave B two crowns.

Chelsey Donn:

How about you, Trey?

Trey Gerrald:

I did two, because the first two sentences, all caps

Trey Gerrald:

If that is the thesis statement, I don't think that they support the

Trey Gerrald:

This does not prove that they're a fraud company.

Trey Gerrald:

I agree, promo code could have been a little more explicit in the directions, but ultimately, B

Trey Gerrald:

So like, yes, it was complicated and confusing, but all I get is Nicole is a

Trey Gerrald:

So I just gave two because it's not really a deal breaker for me at all.

Trey Gerrald:

And God, I love candles.

Chelsey Donn:

Me too.

Chelsey Donn:

Love a good candle.

Chelsey Donn:

That was fun.

Trey Gerrald:

Yay.

Trey Gerrald:

All right, my Queen, here we are.

Trey Gerrald:

We have reached the most Regal portion of our show.

Trey Gerrald:

Chelsey Marie Donn

Trey Gerrald:

- Chelsey Donn: Brooke.

Trey Gerrald:

Brooke.

Trey Gerrald:

How do you spell that?

Chelsey Donn:

B R O O K E.

Trey Gerrald:

Did you know that one of my drag names, I wanted to be Brooke Brothers.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh, I love that.

Trey Gerrald:

David thought it sounded like I only wore khaki.

Chelsey Donn:

Well, cause it is Brooks Brothersy, but it's cute.

Chelsey Donn:

I like it.

Trey Gerrald:

Brooke Brothers, you know, she's so pretty, anyway.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

Whatever

Chelsey Donn:

I think it can be like a preppy Queen.

Chelsey Donn:

I like it.

Trey Gerrald:

Alright.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

Chelsey Brook Brothers Donn.

Chelsey Donn:

Yes.

Trey Gerrald:

Who are you inducting for

VOICEOVER:

My Royal Highness.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm going to induct today because it's so critical to all of our lives.

Chelsey Donn:

These days.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm inducting Zoom.

Chelsey Donn:

Let's do it.

Chelsey Donn:

Let's give credit where credit is due.

Chelsey Donn:

If there is one Royal Highness of this entire pandemic.

Chelsey Donn:

I feel like if zoom, they really, yeah, round of applause for Zoom!

Chelsey Donn:

Right?

Chelsey Donn:

Right?

Trey Gerrald:

I mean.

Trey Gerrald:

We're using.

Chelsey Donn:

We're using it right now.

Chelsey Donn:

This podcast would not exist if it were not for zoom.

Chelsey Donn:

Like zoom to me is like, you know, when you're watching the Olympic.

Chelsey Donn:

And that you're watching the runners and you see that runner that's like, kind of in the back,

Chelsey Donn:

That to me is zoom because zoom has been in the game for a while.

Chelsey Donn:

It's not like zoom just came out during the pandemic.

Chelsey Donn:

I've taken classes and done things on zoom and admittedly.

Chelsey Donn:

I dunno, it felt like either corporate thing or just something that was like maybe an older thing,

Chelsey Donn:

Like, I, I wasn't happy about having to get off Facebook or Instagram and go on a new platform,

Chelsey Donn:

And everybody else tried to hop on the bandwagon a little bit, but zoom had been there all

Chelsey Donn:

And I'm just, I don't know, I'm kvelling over zoom.

Chelsey Donn:

I feel very grateful.

Chelsey Donn:

It's changed my life.

Chelsey Donn:

It's made so much of the world more connected.

Chelsey Donn:

Even we talked about couple episodes back with the high school thing, how we were

Chelsey Donn:

Like there's just been so much of the world that's come together in a

Chelsey Donn:

And so much of that debt of gratitude is owed, to zoom.

Chelsey Donn:

So I just want to say zoom.

Chelsey Donn:

You are My Royal Highness.

Chelsey Donn:

Thank you for being there!

Chelsey Donn:

Thank you so much.

Chelsey Donn:

Thank God for you guys, because I'd be lonely without you.

Trey Gerrald:

It really is remarkable.

Trey Gerrald:

Like I had heard of zoom, but I had never done it until the pandemic.

Trey Gerrald:

And boy has it really taken over?

Chelsey Donn:

It has, it has.

Chelsey Donn:

All right, Trey.

Chelsey Donn:

Who are you inducting, my Queen?

Trey Gerrald:

This is a little silly.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm ready.

Trey Gerrald:

But anyone that knows me knows.

Trey Gerrald:

Today, I am inducting French fries!

Chelsey Donn:

Ugh love a french fry.

Trey Gerrald:

Oh my God.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

Why are French fries so good?

Trey Gerrald:

You know, some people feel that French fries have to be hot in order to be good.

Trey Gerrald:

I can eat a cold fry.

Trey Gerrald:

It's not my preference.

Trey Gerrald:

and if it's called you just put it in a toaster oven on broil.

Trey Gerrald:

And I I've tried to do research.

Trey Gerrald:

I like Google, but it's so contentious where the French fry was actually created.

Chelsey Donn:

I was gonna say.

Chelsey Donn:

Do we know, is it French?

Trey Gerrald:

No.

Chelsey Donn:

No.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

It was served by street vendors in France, but it was also in Belgium at a time.

Trey Gerrald:

And then also like one of the Presidents served it in the 1800s for like,

Trey Gerrald:

And then it's like, is it a crisp, is it a chip?

Trey Gerrald:

Is it a fry?

Trey Gerrald:

Like, it's all sort of.

Trey Gerrald:

As an American, I'm just saying French fries, like I just love, and I also am someone

Chelsey Donn:

Yes!

Trey Gerrald:

I don't really care about fancy food.

Trey Gerrald:

I love burger and fries.

Trey Gerrald:

I love anything that can be complemented with fries.

Trey Gerrald:

And if French fries did not exist, I would be thinner,

Chelsey Donn:

But we're okay with it because we get to experience the fry.

Trey Gerrald:

And I'm not even a sweet person.

Trey Gerrald:

I'm like a salt like.

Trey Gerrald:

Like David can always have ice cream.

Trey Gerrald:

I can literally always have French fries.

Trey Gerrald:

And they don't always have to be in ketchup, but just French fries.

Trey Gerrald:

And it's just like, maybe that is just like, so disgustingly American, I don't know.

Trey Gerrald:

But to me

Chelsey Donn:

What?

Chelsey Donn:

Do they not do ketchup on fries in other places?

Trey Gerrald:

No, I just mean French fries.

Trey Gerrald:

It like, it seems like so low brow because of like fast food and whatever, but like, honestly If

Trey Gerrald:

So I'm inducting French fries as My Royal Highness, because they really deserve recognition

Trey Gerrald:

I just want fries, like sometimes there's an option for a salad.

Trey Gerrald:

Get out of here.

Trey Gerrald:

Or Onion rings.

Trey Gerrald:

Get out of here.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh onion rings can get out of here.

Chelsey Donn:

Sorry.

Trey Gerrald:

I mean, sometimes I'm into that, but I usually want like one or two, I just want French

Trey Gerrald:

Like I don't even want sweet potato, French fries.

Trey Gerrald:

I don't want disco French fries.

Trey Gerrald:

I don't want, what is that, uh,

Chelsey Donn:

Oh, shoe string?

Trey Gerrald:

No, no, no.

Trey Gerrald:

What's the topping that comes from like a fungus.

Trey Gerrald:

That's really fancy that you can get on.

Chelsey Donn:

Truffle!

Trey Gerrald:

Truffle!

Trey Gerrald:

Get out of here with truffle.

Trey Gerrald:

If you want crap on it, get nachos.

Trey Gerrald:

I just want french fries.

Trey Gerrald:

Anyway, where we've completed already.

Trey Gerrald:

My Royal Highness, French fries.

Trey Gerrald:

Love them.

Trey Gerrald:

All right.

Chelsey Donn:

Love it.

Chelsey Donn:

Love it.

Chelsey Donn:

What a good and worthy induction, Trey.

Chelsey Donn:

I love french fries too

Trey Gerrald:

All right.

Trey Gerrald:

Anyway.

Trey Gerrald:

Thanks everyone.

Trey Gerrald:

That's another round on the RU a RQ Ferris Wheel of life and love.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm so glad we fixed that ending tagline.
