Microblading. Some people get a bit scared by this and
Speaker:it's all about getting rid of the peach fuzz to
Speaker:allow for better product absorption. Even you as
Speaker:an untrained masseuse can see results. Quality
Speaker:of your oil will also help your skin benefit from
Speaker:your massage. I prefer our Icing Your Face.
Speaker:Some people think this is a fad, and some people think this is a bit weird as
Speaker:well. They don't like the idea of getting cold or feeling cold, but
Speaker:it really helps after a cleanse to tighten your pores. It
Speaker:will help get rid of... Welcome to the Holistic Skin Guru, where
Speaker:what's on the surface is just as important as what's underneath.
Speaker:I'm your host, Aamena. Let's dive deep into the world
Speaker:of holistic skincare. Welcome
Speaker:back to Skin School. And this session, we're
Speaker:going to be talking about four at-home treatments that
Speaker:you can do today that will cost you almost nothing. Believe
Speaker:it or not, if you think that you need to spend hundreds
Speaker:of dollars and even thousands of dollars to get your results,
Speaker:then you are completely wrong. Let me teach
Speaker:you some of my secrets. Not only are these things free, you
Speaker:probably have stuff around that you can use already in
Speaker:your home and these are things that I have learnt over
Speaker:the course of my career and to help me understand
Speaker:how to get the best results for my clients. The
Speaker:first tip is using a good quality oil to
Speaker:massage your face. Now, there are some doctors
Speaker:out there that think massage is a whole lot of hogwash, but
Speaker:we know as a holistic skin therapist, we can see it
Speaker:when we're doing a very technical massage on our clients. We
Speaker:actually see the skin respond and we see that lifting occurring.
Speaker:Now, even you as an untrained masseuse
Speaker:on your own face can see results. But the
Speaker:quality of your oil will also help your skin benefit
Speaker:from this one habit. I prefer our sea
Speaker:buckthorn or vitamin A but you can use anything that
Speaker:is organic and light such as coconut oil and even
Speaker:castor oil mixed with some black seed oil. Now
Speaker:black seed oil is known to be high antioxidant.
Speaker:It is amazing for the skin. And
Speaker:in the Arab world, we say that it is a
Speaker:cure for everything except death. So if you mix that with
Speaker:olive oil or castor oil or even coconut oil, it
Speaker:becomes a really, really good medium to do your
Speaker:massage. So when we're doing massage, what
Speaker:is it actually doing? It's helping your lymphatics.
Speaker:So, I mean, you can watch my video on
Speaker:Instagram. It's pinned at the top of our page, Skin Fit New Farm,
Speaker:where I show a seven-step lymphatic drainage
Speaker:and massage routine that you can incorporate with your vitamin A
Speaker:every single night and you'll start to see really amazing results.
Speaker:But lymphatics is a really good
Speaker:way to start because it opens up and stimulates the
Speaker:blood flow and it gets the skin to wake
Speaker:up. Researchers in Japan found that People
Speaker:that practice daily facial massage showed measurable differences
Speaker:in their cheeks and facial structure. It will
Speaker:help with sagging skin as well. Now, tip
Speaker:number two is using a gua sha when doing your massage to
Speaker:help your lymphatic drainage process. Now, I would encourage you
Speaker:to first do the seven steps on my Instagram. And
Speaker:once you get familiar with that, it probably take you maybe three or four goes
Speaker:before you are feeling confident with that. Then you can
Speaker:start incorporating a gua sha. I like to use God's
Speaker:tools first, you know, our fingers are really great. And once you're
Speaker:used to that process, you can then start using your gua sha. to
Speaker:help you with your lymphatic drainage and really get that blood flowing. So
Speaker:check out the 7 Step Massage Routine. It's been to the
Speaker:SkinFit New Farm Instagram page. And,
Speaker:you know, like it and share it with your friends. As
Speaker:long as it can help as many people out there as possible, it'll keep me
Speaker:smiling. Tip number three is microblading. Now,
Speaker:some people get a bit scared by this and it's all about getting rid
Speaker:of the peach fuzz that's
Speaker:on your skin to allow for better product absorption. But
Speaker:make sure you practice this before and always work
Speaker:in a downward formation and And
Speaker:no, you won't grow a beard. So, you know, don't worry about that. Hair growth
Speaker:is determined by hormones, not how we remove it. So we
Speaker:can retard hair growth, but we can't cause more hair to
Speaker:grow by simply removing it. Your hormones do
Speaker:that. So don't worry about that. You can watch plenty of videos online about
Speaker:how to dermaplane and get rid of that peach fuzz and
Speaker:your product will absorb a lot better. Tip number
Speaker:four, is icing your face. Now,
Speaker:some people think this is a fad and some people think this is a bit weird
Speaker:as well. Like they don't like the idea of getting cold or feeling cold, but
Speaker:it really helps after a cleanse to tighten your pores and
Speaker:to get the skin to appear like glass skin, like the Koreans who
Speaker:are so good at doing it. It will help get rid of any puffiness
Speaker:that you may have after waking up and it leaves your
Speaker:skin looking and feeling absolutely fresh.
Speaker:So those are four simple at-home treatments that
Speaker:you can do today if you have the right things at
Speaker:home. They're inexpensive. It just takes a little bit of
Speaker:your time, a little bit of practice. And once you get going,
Speaker:I promise you, this is something that you become addicted to
Speaker:and your skin will be so thankful for it. Now, just going back
Speaker:to the dermaplaning, some people are really scared to
Speaker:use blades and things like that. you can substitute that
Speaker:by having sugaring. If you don't know what sugaring is,
Speaker:it's an in-salon treatment where you can come in and get your face sugared.
Speaker:It will remove a lot of the dead skin cells and all the peach fuzz
Speaker:from your face, and your makeup will just go on so beautifully.
Speaker:But best of all, your products will absorb into
Speaker:your skin a lot better than before. And
Speaker:making sure that the products that you currently use, especially
Speaker:your cleansers, don't contain any silicons because
Speaker:silicons sit on the top of your skin, act as a barrier
Speaker:to any products that are coming after. So we wanna make sure
Speaker:that our products are nice and clean and they don't have any of
Speaker:these added nasties. So no sulfates, no
Speaker:silicons, that way your product, your ingredients
Speaker:will absorb into your skin a lot better and you'll get really, really good results
Speaker:from your at home care. It's really funny that Gua
Speaker:Sha has taken off the way it has because I see so
Speaker:many surgeons and doctors online trying to
Speaker:debunk this to try to make it sound like it's some kind
Speaker:of a myth and it doesn't work. I get it, you know, it's
Speaker:encroaching on their territory because the more people that
Speaker:use Gua Sha and massage methods, the less people
Speaker:come into their surgery. So we're actually preventing
Speaker:that skin laxity that happens later on. We're preventing
Speaker:it by incorporating these kind of techniques into
Speaker:our daily care. And I understand why doctors are
Speaker:nervous because it just means that there's less people coming
Speaker:into their chairs, into their treatment rooms and
Speaker:yeah, it's one of those treatments that's been around for thousands of
Speaker:years. If you look into ancient Chinese
Speaker:home cares around skin, gua sha has been around
Speaker:for thousands of years. So it does help the skin, it
Speaker:increases blood flow, And it really helps the lymphatics
Speaker:to start moving beautifully. When your lymph is healthy, you
Speaker:are healthy because your lymphatic system sits directly aside
Speaker:your immune system. And so if the one is working well,
Speaker:so is the other. So we want our lymphatic system to
Speaker:work really, really well. It's the only part of our
Speaker:body or system that doesn't have its own pumping
Speaker:mechanism, so we have to do it ourselves. I
Speaker:can show you really quickly the seven steps. The first
Speaker:one is to open up the termini and just above your collarbone, you
Speaker:just need to tap that lightly. very
Speaker:lightly, just with the pads of your fingers and very
Speaker:close together and just give it a light tap about six
Speaker:or seven times. This opens up our termini and starts
Speaker:to help the lymphatic system to work. It's
Speaker:like the start button. And then after that, we want to just very,
Speaker:very gently on either side of our neck, just do a very light
Speaker:pumping action. And from there, we're going to go
Speaker:to beside our ears and do a very, very light pumping action.
Speaker:And that is as gentle as it is when
Speaker:it comes to lymphatics. After that, we'll apply
Speaker:an oil all over your face, and then we're going to
Speaker:do some drainage. We can use our knuckles and start draining along
Speaker:there. And we've got lymph nodes under our ears. We've
Speaker:got them in different areas around this area here.
Speaker:And so we're just going to work that towards our lymph nodes
Speaker:and start getting that draining process. This is going to help
Speaker:us get that more snatched look. It's going to help all
Speaker:of that stagnation that's been sitting there.
Speaker:Sometimes we feel a little bit bloated. It's going to get rid of that bloating
Speaker:feeling in our faces. and really give us that snatched jawline.
Speaker:If we wanted to improve overall, what we would do
Speaker:is what I call the L-shape, and we just put our
Speaker:hands, make it into an L-shape, put it on either side
Speaker:of our nose like that, making sure there's full contact with
Speaker:our skin. And then we just drain all
Speaker:the way to our hairline. The important thing
Speaker:to understand is our lymph runs on the circumference of our face
Speaker:and all the way down the center of our body. So we always want
Speaker:to work towards that to drain. We can drain
Speaker:under our eyes. And another quick tip is if
Speaker:you wanted to lift your brow, then we would
Speaker:be looking at doing a lifting movement like that.
Speaker:making sure that we're using the opposite hand for the opposite eyebrow, and
Speaker:always making sure that we have a good quality oil on our
Speaker:skin so we can get that drainage happening. Good
Speaker:luck. Thank you for joining me on Holistic Skin
