Review!.

Chelsey Donn:

Hello

Trey Gerrald:

Hi.

Trey Gerrald:

Hi.

Trey Gerrald:

Hi, welcome to Review That Review.

Trey Gerrald:

We are the podcast dedicated to reviewing

Chelsey Donn:

reviews were just like Cisco Neber only instead of reviewing cinematic,

Trey Gerrald:

that's Chelsey Donn,

Chelsey Donn:

And that's Trey Gerrald.

Trey Gerrald:

and together we are.

VOICEOVER:

Trey Gerrald:

A nice Royal hello to all of our Patreon members.

Chelsey Donn:

Click that patron button.

Chelsey Donn:

And there you are.

Trey Gerrald:

Click, click check Chelsey goose.

Chelsey Donn:

Yes.

Trey Gerrald:

your week going?

Chelsey Donn:

My week is going, you know, well, it's, it's officially like end of

Chelsey Donn:

You know, I'm not going back to school or anything like that, but it's like

Chelsey Donn:

Do you have that like same feeling?

Chelsey Donn:

I just love the summer so much that I think when it, when I feel it ending like labor day

Trey Gerrald:

I do.

Trey Gerrald:

It is funny because even though I'm not in a school situation any longer, I do feel a

Trey Gerrald:

And when summer is ending, I do have that sense of longing, even though I would say that

Trey Gerrald:

I do have that sense of like, oh, like a sense of fun chapter is closing or something.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

In this conversation though, it's funny because we went on a walk and we took

Trey Gerrald:

And it had a bunch of like Stony rocks and stuff.

Trey Gerrald:

And we were the only people there.

Trey Gerrald:

And so we were walking them and it's been really touching to see hunter coming out

Trey Gerrald:

You know, this is the dog that we rescued who had been very clearly abused and he was.

Trey Gerrald:

Like a monster on the rocks.

Trey Gerrald:

He was like, so brave.

Chelsey Donn:

Wow.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh,

Trey Gerrald:

this whole other side of this little dog and it really is just very wonderful

Trey Gerrald:

And I loved that little dog so much and just seeing him be so brave and leading

Chelsey Donn:

so nice.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm happy for a little hunt.

Trey Gerrald:

I

Trey Gerrald:

know, uh, yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

so good to hear it.

Chelsey Donn:

I mean, speaking of nurturing and all that, you know, sometimes you get an Instagram

Chelsey Donn:

And I feel like it's too soon to say really?

Chelsey Donn:

Cuz I haven't.

Chelsey Donn:

Like gone down the whole thing, but you know, I've been trying, it's like, summer's ending,

Chelsey Donn:

And I wanna like have a more mindful attitude around food and be like more

Chelsey Donn:

And I got an ad on Instagram for this app called intent.

Chelsey Donn:

Have you heard of this app?

Trey Gerrald:

no, but I'm probably gonna get ads now.

Chelsey Donn:

Intent intent.

Chelsey Donn:

So intent.

Chelsey Donn:

I already like used it once and I'm like obsessed.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm doing a free trial right now.

Chelsey Donn:

So I'll like report back and see how it works for me.

Chelsey Donn:

But basically you answer all these questions that are like very easy and like, like pictures.

Chelsey Donn:

It just, they make it very simple.

Chelsey Donn:

It doesn't feel like a daunting like school process.

Chelsey Donn:

Like it's just a little like quiz and you answer questions about like, what kind of food do you.

Chelsey Donn:

To eat.

Chelsey Donn:

Do you have any food that you don't like to eat?

Chelsey Donn:

How, how experienced of a cook are you?

Chelsey Donn:

Are you like a very beginner chef?

Chelsey Donn:

Are you more experienced?

Chelsey Donn:

Like how much time do you have what's Mo what's like most important to you basically when.

Chelsey Donn:

You're feeding yourself with intention.

Chelsey Donn:

Right?

Chelsey Donn:

And so you answer all these questions and then questions about like your cuisine,

Chelsey Donn:

And what is your goal?

Chelsey Donn:

Do you wanna lose weight?

Chelsey Donn:

Do you like, are you just trying to be a little healthier, whatever your goal is,

Chelsey Donn:

And don't for me, like.

Chelsey Donn:

Diet's a little bit of a triggering word.

Chelsey Donn:

So like the recipes don't feel diety, but I can see how there's like

Chelsey Donn:

And then they give you a shopping list.

Chelsey Donn:

At the end of it.

Chelsey Donn:

And they're like, so what's your shopping day gonna be?

Chelsey Donn:

So like, if my shopping day is today, then they're like, all right, we're not

Chelsey Donn:

We're gonna give you the shopping list.

Chelsey Donn:

You said you were gonna shop on Monday.

Chelsey Donn:

So like here's all the ingredients that you need to buy for the meals for the week.

Chelsey Donn:

And then every single day it's recipes in.

Chelsey Donn:

You can like, for me, I Donn I'm just like cooking for myself most of the time.

Chelsey Donn:

So I don't mind leftovers.

Chelsey Donn:

So you can say like, I'm good with leftovers.

Chelsey Donn:

And then maybe they only give you like two variations of recipes to cook that week.

Chelsey Donn:

And you like, can repeat eating them for dinner or whatever it is.

Chelsey Donn:

But Ugh, I'm loving this so far.

Chelsey Donn:

I haven't, you know, put it into practice, but as an app and the psychology of the

Chelsey Donn:

High hopes about this.

Chelsey Donn:

And I was thinking specifically of you, Trey, when I was going through the process, because

Chelsey Donn:

And I think.

Chelsey Donn:

That, and I'm not getting paid for this at all, but I think that maybe this could be a good app

Chelsey Donn:

And it seems to give you recipes at your level.

Chelsey Donn:

So you could say, you know, I'm a beginner,

Trey Gerrald:

I love that

Chelsey Donn:

little tip.

Trey Gerrald:

I've already looked it up on my phone.

Trey Gerrald:

So there we

Chelsey Donn:

Oh my God.

Chelsey Donn:

Yay.

Chelsey Donn:

Well,

Trey Gerrald:

That was almost Royal Hennessy.

Chelsey Donn:

Uh, you're right.

Chelsey Donn:

But you know what?

Trey Gerrald:

But we don't know

Chelsey Donn:

make it a Royal Highness yet because I still haven't tested it.

Chelsey Donn:

I just really like whoever did the UX, like the user experience for the

Trey Gerrald:

Well, that's fun and it does feel like a new chapter.

Trey Gerrald:

So it's a great time to do that.

Chelsey Donn:

I think I'm gonna like do that instead of my Complaint this week is

Trey Gerrald:

All right.

Trey Gerrald:

Fair.

Trey Gerrald:

You can

Chelsey Donn:

But I don't wanna influence you.

Chelsey Donn:

I want, if you would like to complain, I would love to hear anything you have to complain about.

Chelsey Donn:

Always.

Chelsey Donn:

I mean,

Trey Gerrald:

I do think I would like to

VOICEOVER:

Lodge Complaint.

Trey Gerrald:

today, I really need to Lodge a Complaint against any device

Chelsey Donn:

God, like a luggage or something.

Trey Gerrald:

Luggage is very guilty.

Trey Gerrald:

This, um, desk that I use has four spiny wheels.

Trey Gerrald:

And sometimes one of the four will be sideways or like not facing the right direction, or

Trey Gerrald:

And it just like stops.

Trey Gerrald:

It also was really frustrating whenever you have a shopping cart.

Trey Gerrald:

And one of the wheels is like Octa and it's like, ah, and you're.

Chelsey Donn:

I

Trey Gerrald:

The loud person in the grocery store.

Trey Gerrald:

It's like, you have to go return the shopping cart.

Trey Gerrald:

You can't be the person that everyone's looking at.

Trey Gerrald:

Gosh, I hate that.

Chelsey Donn:

That's so funny that ha I got a grocery cart at like CVS.

Chelsey Donn:

Cause I was getting a bunch of stuff from my, my niece and my nephews.

Chelsey Donn:

And I was like quick, quick, like creaking along like down the carts.

Chelsey Donn:

And they kept like turning to people and going like, Ugh, you know, of course I got the bad cart.

Chelsey Donn:

Like I was like trying to make a whole shtick of it.

Chelsey Donn:

And like half of people were like, why are you talking to me?

Chelsey Donn:

But I was like, self-conscious about my squeaking.

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah, it's just frustrating because you want it to all be in tandem and work.

Trey Gerrald:

You don't want there to be something that's off.

Trey Gerrald:

And then like getting stuck is very disorienting.

Trey Gerrald:

Like if you're like moving along and then all of a sudden, like you can't like it's very off putting.

Chelsey Donn:

You know, try maybe it's time for someone to reinvent the wheel.

Trey Gerrald:

It's almost like I set you up for that joke and I didn't

Chelsey Donn:

It's almost like you did.

Chelsey Donn:

Um,

Trey Gerrald:

All right.

Chelsey Donn:

but really we gotta do better.

Chelsey Donn:

I Donn, I don't know how we fix this problem other than to reinvent the wheel.

Trey Gerrald:

I mean, it makes me think this has reminded me of last week's after

Trey Gerrald:

Maybe it's the 360 wheels that's when they get FTA.

Trey Gerrald:

Cuz I also have, my filing cabinet is on for little wheels, spinning

Trey Gerrald:

Like structured.

Trey Gerrald:

Right.

Trey Gerrald:

And then you have to, like, you have to put a lot of energy, like trying

Trey Gerrald:

Same direct, you know, it's just like to

Chelsey Donn:

So it's time to reinvent the spinning wheel.

Trey Gerrald:

It's the spinning wheel.

Trey Gerrald:

Mm-hmm

Chelsey Donn:

okay.

Chelsey Donn:

Have you ever got, gotten like luggage back at, uh, from the

Trey Gerrald:

and then

Trey Gerrald:

it

Chelsey Donn:

of your wheels is gone,

Trey Gerrald:

I have.

Trey Gerrald:

Yes,

Chelsey Donn:

them, like throwing it out and then you're like all of a sudden

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

There, there's no way to function with.

Chelsey Donn:

No, it's terrible.

Trey Gerrald:

on one wrist trying to push it in the non missing leg.

Trey Gerrald:

Yep.

Chelsey Donn:

And we're trying to balance.

Chelsey Donn:

No, it's so bad.

Chelsey Donn:

You gotta pay like $8.

Chelsey Donn:

You got one of those cart things.

Trey Gerrald:

I would never pay for that.

Trey Gerrald:

Get outta here.

Chelsey Donn:

I have, you've never paid for one of those

Trey Gerrald:

Metal things.

Trey Gerrald:

No, wait, it's really $8

Chelsey Donn:

yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

to go from here to there.

Trey Gerrald:

Well, I guess that's all Uber is getting here to there.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm talking about the shopping cart thing at the airport

Trey Gerrald:

I can't believe it's

Chelsey Donn:

slide out used to be five.

Trey Gerrald:

Oh my, do you know some of

Chelsey Donn:

you know, what you can do is you can go out and as long as you try

Chelsey Donn:

Cause they often leave them there when they're done getting the

Trey Gerrald:

oh

Chelsey Donn:

And then you can steal one.

Chelsey Donn:

Not that I'm advising stealing, but you could rescue one.

Chelsey Donn:

It's just sitting.

Trey Gerrald:

Here's a funny thought process that reminded me of like some

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

Aldi.

Trey Gerrald:

Yes.

Trey Gerrald:

And then it goes back.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

Which then reminded me, have you ever been to one of those grocery stores or targets a Walmart

Chelsey Donn:

Yes.

Trey Gerrald:

So that is

Chelsey Donn:

So crazy.

Trey Gerrald:

I hate of these spinning wheels getting

Chelsey Donn:

that.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh my God.

Chelsey Donn:

I hate that.

Chelsey Donn:

Like, when you like get to the, basically like where the metal detector things

Trey Gerrald:

Yes.

Trey Gerrald:

It's just like

Chelsey Donn:

something?

Chelsey Donn:

They just like, stop moving.

Trey Gerrald:

that's so weird.

Chelsey Donn:

I mean, I get it cuz people are animals and they don't return the cart, but,

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah,

Chelsey Donn:

huh.

Trey Gerrald:

Joe, in the south, we call those buggies a shopping buggy.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah, my mom calls him something recently.

Chelsey Donn:

We were just talking about it, that she calls it.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh God, what does she call it?

Chelsey Donn:

She's gonna be upset that I don't remember

Trey Gerrald:

It's one of the

Chelsey Donn:

a wagon.

Chelsey Donn:

A

Trey Gerrald:

wagon I've heard wagon.

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

It's one of those things I have to think about before I say out loud,

Chelsey Donn:

Well, Trey, you didn't say umbrella or

Trey Gerrald:

I thought through them before I said that, I have to say that about a cart too.

Trey Gerrald:

Cuz I wanna, I just default to buggy go get a buggy.

Trey Gerrald:

My mom would always say that, go get the buggy.

Chelsey Donn:

Or like, so that's like, and then also like the remote or the clicker or the, you

Trey Gerrald:

remote

Chelsey Donn:

yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

All right.

Chelsey Donn:

Well, channel change.

Chelsey Donn:

Pass the channel changer, Trey hog and the channel changer every day.

Chelsey Donn:

Always hogging it.

Chelsey Donn:

Pass it over.

Chelsey Donn:

All right, let's pass it over to someone else.

Chelsey Donn:

Shall we someone with some online reviews

Trey Gerrald:

I think that's a great idea.

VOICEOVER:

Review That Review.

Chelsey Donn:

as you know, we are your trustee review Queens.

Chelsey Donn:

We bring in reviews from the internet that we feel need to be inspected.

Trey Gerrald:

We read you a review, break it down and rate the impact of the review

Trey Gerrald:

It's a very Regal process that we like to call.

VOICEOVER:

Assess that Kvetch.

Trey Gerrald:

And what have you got for us today?

Trey Gerrald:

Chelsey?

Chelsey Donn:

Well, well, well, looks like another trip down the Yelp lane.

Trey Gerrald:

Ooh.

Chelsey Donn:

So today's review topic.

Chelsey Donn:

I wanna give credit to friend of the pod, Thomas B, who slid into our DMS

Chelsey Donn:

So what is the location you ask?

Chelsey Donn:

It is the golden girls kitchen located in Los Angeles.

Chelsey Donn:

Actually, I think it's technically in Beverly.

Chelsey Donn:

On Bedford.

Chelsey Donn:

And this is a supposed to be, have you gone to any of these places?

Chelsey Donn:

Trey?

Chelsey Donn:

Like I went to the Seinfeld.

Chelsey Donn:

Experience.

Chelsey Donn:

And it was like really cool because it was like you were in Jerry's apartment and you saw

Chelsey Donn:

And these are popping up all over the place.

Chelsey Donn:

Like these sort of temporary restaurants or, you know, show nostalgia.

Chelsey Donn:

Have you ever been to any of these.

Trey Gerrald:

No, but when I did the Warner brothers studio tour, it ends with like a picture

Trey Gerrald:

And you can take a

Chelsey Donn:

central perk.

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

So I sat on the couch, but no, but I've heard of these golden girls.

Trey Gerrald:

I've heard of the golden girls.

Chelsey Donn:

Kitchen.

Chelsey Donn:

So it's you buy a ticket it's it's put together by a company called bucket listers.

Chelsey Donn:

And with this specific experience, the golden girls kitchen, it costs $49 a person.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

Each ticket includes a 90 minute reservation.

Chelsey Donn:

At the golden girl kitchen, your choice of a golden Maine and a slice of cheesecake, of

Trey Gerrald:

of course.

Chelsey Donn:

Right.

Chelsey Donn:

And there'll be additional sides, beverages, et cetera, that you can purchase there.

Chelsey Donn:

So they're really marketing this event as like, if you love golden girls, you gotta come here.

Chelsey Donn:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

That's that's like how they're setting it up and whatever.

Chelsey Donn:

So this is Hector K's One-Star-Zinger review of the golden girls kitchen from Yelp.

Trey Gerrald:

perfect.

Chelsey Donn:

I came here in spite of the reviews I'm here now, as I type, and I can say the

Trey Gerrald:

Mmm.

Chelsey Donn:

This place is a sad disaster.

Chelsey Donn:

It's obvious that the people behind the popup don't know the golden girls and,

Chelsey Donn:

Yes.

Chelsey Donn:

The food is barely edible, just barely, but I wasn't expecting fine dining.

Chelsey Donn:

I came in for an immersive experience as advertised into the revered show, and that

Chelsey Donn:

A half asked reproduction of the show's kitchen.

Chelsey Donn:

And one of the bedrooms surrounding the dining area is all there is to see here.

Chelsey Donn:

The sidewalk slash patio section is the Luna and the bar is called shady Pines, but there's

Chelsey Donn:

And while there are episodes of the show playing on mute on TVs in the dining room,

Chelsey Donn:

I'm typing this to the tune of on J's physical and gainers.

Chelsey Donn:

I will survive.

Chelsey Donn:

And other than a half hazard neon sign by the.

Chelsey Donn:

And a printed banner randomly placed next to a dining booth.

Chelsey Donn:

There is nothing in the place that identifies with the show.

Chelsey Donn:

The staff are kind and present.

Chelsey Donn:

They're doing their best, but I can't help getting the feeling that nobody involved in

Trey Gerrald:

Hmm.

Chelsey Donn:

It's clear that the kitchen in the very name of the popup is not run by

Chelsey Donn:

or know the show at all.

Chelsey Donn:

Nostalgia makes all of us pay handsomely for experiences that recreate the good times of

Chelsey Donn:

I find it irresponsible and borderline abusive to charge over $50 a.

Chelsey Donn:

When there is almost nothing here that commands the price, the food is not good.

Chelsey Donn:

The ambiance is completely amiss and your nostalgia will not be satisfied

Chelsey Donn:

I said almost because the cocktails were really stiff and the wine they sell is better than

Chelsey Donn:

In addition to the experience rate one last note, when the checks for my drinks

Chelsey Donn:

Come on.

Chelsey Donn:

I was given an NRA branded pen in the shape of a bullet.

Chelsey Donn:

To sign the check with, if there was any doubt that the people behind the popup do not know

Trey Gerrald:

clientele.

Chelsey Donn:

the golden girls at all this poetic piece to resistance to an embarrassingly, sorry.

Chelsey Donn:

Excuse for a themed restaurant was all I needed to confirm.

Chelsey Donn:

If you're a casual fan, you'll find absolutely nothing here to remind you of the.

Trey Gerrald:

Do.

Chelsey Donn:

if you're a hardcore fan, you'll be sad and possibly enraged at the audacity of

Chelsey Donn:

And then Hector did include a photo of the NRA pen with the like check.

Trey Gerrald:

It's funny when you said that I was like, what is N a.

Trey Gerrald:

And then you said the bullet pin.

Trey Gerrald:

I was like, oh my God, the NRA

Chelsey Donn:

Right.

Chelsey Donn:

NRA.

Chelsey Donn:

And then it says, you know how you can like write a subject underneath photo.

Chelsey Donn:

So it says embarrassing.

Chelsey Donn:

And then in parenthesis it says, check whited out for privacy purposes.

Trey Gerrald:

Hector.

Chelsey Donn:

oh, Hector gotta love him.

Trey Gerrald:

So it's funny you chose this today because literally last night

Trey Gerrald:

They made a reservation at the golden girls kitchen

Chelsey Donn:

Stop it, and it was not, it was not friend of the pod Thomas B.

Trey Gerrald:

No.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh my goodness.

Chelsey Donn:

Well, it's swimming in the ether.

Trey Gerrald:

But I was looking through the pictures and I even thought

Trey Gerrald:

And then the,

Chelsey Donn:

Oh,

Trey Gerrald:

the comforter of the bed room, like, was like, wasn't

Trey Gerrald:

And the wall PA, like, it looked really too dimensional and bad

Chelsey Donn:

put together.

Trey Gerrald:

that I was even sort of like, oh, which really comes across here in Hector's review.

Trey Gerrald:

I mean, it's interesting.

Trey Gerrald:

I, I feel like, because you mentioned at the beginning that it's by bucket listers.com,

Trey Gerrald:

Cause because I would imagine if, if I were in this company and I were like,

Trey Gerrald:

But I Donn don't have firsthand experience with, it would be Seinfeld.

Trey Gerrald:

I've never seen it.

Trey Gerrald:

And you're talking about the couch thing with.

Trey Gerrald:

Whoever, like, I don't know what that means.

Trey Gerrald:

Also.

Trey Gerrald:

Like if it was like, I'm gonna make a walking dead experience, like I've never seen the show.

Trey Gerrald:

I have no idea, but I, I, that's why I really loved how Hector ends with, if you're casual,

Trey Gerrald:

If you're a hardcore, you're gonna be offended.

Trey Gerrald:

Like, like I think that

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

Cuz I think I'm very casual when it comes to the golden girls.

Chelsey Donn:

Like I watched it with grandparents like in the background, but I was very young

Chelsey Donn:

Deep dive back in which I have a lot of friends that have, and then there is an entire subculture

Chelsey Donn:

Obviously Betty White rest in peace was an icon.

Trey Gerrald:

Did she.

Chelsey Donn:

what?

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

did you not know that she like missed her hundredth?

Chelsey Donn:

They were supposed to do like her hundredth birthday

Trey Gerrald:

about

Chelsey Donn:

and then she died like right before, but they had, they had like some of the footage,

Trey Gerrald:

Oh my God.

Trey Gerrald:

I completely forgot about

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

They had some of the footage.

Chelsey Donn:

So they like put it in a documentary.

Trey Gerrald:

I feel like something horrible happened in the world, right?

Trey Gerrald:

Like the next day, I feel like it got overshadowed by something.

Chelsey Donn:

I, I mean, well, it was the, it was new year's Eve.

Trey Gerrald:

So David and I Beed golden girls during the very beginning of the pandemic.

Trey Gerrald:

And it is really, it does still hold up.

Trey Gerrald:

Like I think it, I think there's a subculture of homosexual men that love it because

Trey Gerrald:

Also, it was written by a lot of gay men and it would, they tackled very progressive issues.

Trey Gerrald:

But comedy wise, I think it is like the gold bar of sitcom writing.

Trey Gerrald:

I mean, it is literally one, two punch, every third line.

Trey Gerrald:

All of those women were like so skilled and they all had very different rhythms

Trey Gerrald:

Like it really is

Chelsey Donn:

but like a nice like symphony of comedy.

Trey Gerrald:

my God.

Trey Gerrald:

I mean, it's like, you just, can't nothing will ever be like that again.

Trey Gerrald:

And it still stands up.

Trey Gerrald:

Like, I love Lucy as like my jam.

Trey Gerrald:

That's like what taught me everything in life, but I go back and watch it and it feels very period.

Trey Gerrald:

I think like the golden girls still felt, feels very current.

Trey Gerrald:

I mean, it is outrageous to, to see that, but it's also funny that Hector

Chelsey Donn:

It reminded me of when we'd read the review from the hotel while we

Trey Gerrald:

here now.

Trey Gerrald:

And this is a sad disaster.

Trey Gerrald:

I wrote down sad disaster, cuz that's the most horrifying way to describe

Trey Gerrald:

I mean that's so

Chelsey Donn:

just love, I just, this one was in is the LA location?

Trey Gerrald:

no.

Trey Gerrald:

The show takes place in Miami.

Trey Gerrald:

So I was saying that Miami

Chelsey Donn:

in that Miami kitchen.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh for sure.

Chelsey Donn:

But like the whole thing was so good.

Chelsey Donn:

I just, I read a few other reviews, but I really liked the way Hector

Chelsey Donn:

And there was something about him being there at the time, like made him feel like he was

Chelsey Donn:

No, this just stuck out to me.

Chelsey Donn:

So we have golden girls playing on the TVs, but we have the TVs muted.

Chelsey Donn:

And then we're, we're playing music from the time period that the show had aired

Chelsey Donn:

The theme of the show.

Chelsey Donn:

Like, why wouldn't we just play this, the show unmuted.

Chelsey Donn:

That seems like the easiest thing in the world to do.

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

It honestly, when you started to go into that part of the review, I started thinking like,

Trey Gerrald:

I don't even like, I don't know what wouldn't

Chelsey Donn:

but it doesn't need to be music.

Chelsey Donn:

It could literally just be like screens everywhere.

Chelsey Donn:

Everybody's watching episode 4 0 2 or whatever it is at the same time.

Chelsey Donn:

And like, it's just running the golden girls as background.

Trey Gerrald:

It reminds me of, and I know that this was culturally happening.

Trey Gerrald:

All over the United States of America.

Trey Gerrald:

But my experience was splash.

Trey Gerrald:

Gay bar in Manhattan would have a musical Monday and they just had tons of

Trey Gerrald:

Like, you know, it was like a whole evening montage, basically.

Trey Gerrald:

Like that's what you would, should have at the golden girls.

Trey Gerrald:

It should just be like, it doesn't even have to be full episodes.

Trey Gerrald:

It can be like the most famous sections in a Megamix that's playing all day.

Trey Gerrald:

So everyone can quote along.

Trey Gerrald:

Everyone can like, not like let's get physical or whatever.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah, exactly not.

Chelsey Donn:

I will survive.

Trey Gerrald:

Right.

Trey Gerrald:

It seems, that seems now knowing with the NRA pin that makes me feel a

Trey Gerrald:

Uh, I will survive.

Trey Gerrald:

They're like, what are these most offensively

Chelsey Donn:

Wow.

Trey Gerrald:

Trop songs.

Chelsey Donn:

Wow.

Chelsey Donn:

Wow.

Chelsey Donn:

Wow.

Chelsey Donn:

Wow.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Trey Gerrald:

I have a question here because Hector says that they paid over $50, but the price is fif $49.

Trey Gerrald:

So is Hector including

Chelsey Donn:

well, they pay no.

Chelsey Donn:

Well, I think what they're saying is

Trey Gerrald:

Oh, after the add-on.

Chelsey Donn:

yes,

Trey Gerrald:

I wrote that down.

Trey Gerrald:

I hate that.

Trey Gerrald:

I hate anytime there's like higher quality products a after something that

Trey Gerrald:

Like that's why the wine was

Chelsey Donn:

And then it's like, plus $5 or whatever.

Trey Gerrald:

that's what really like struck me about Hector's narrative here is that there's

Trey Gerrald:

Skin Crawley about recognizing in the moment that you've been duped by an organization

Trey Gerrald:

Like I think that's why it's so

Chelsey Donn:

What's behind door.

Chelsey Donn:

Number one,

Trey Gerrald:

That Hector is writing it in the middle of being there because it's like, oh,

Trey Gerrald:

Like that's

Trey Gerrald:

so weird.

Chelsey Donn:

like that they pointed that out because I think that, like, that really

Chelsey Donn:

Like I'm not a die hard golden girls friend fan, but I'm sure I have friends

Chelsey Donn:

I would say, yes.

Trey Gerrald:

yeah, why not?

Trey Gerrald:

Right?

Chelsey Donn:

Right.

Chelsey Donn:

Cause I would think it's enough of a cultural zeitgeist type thing that

Chelsey Donn:

Like it's gonna be a good time.

Chelsey Donn:

Like I would think it's gonna be a good time.

Chelsey Donn:

Even if I wasn't someone that like was gonna be, you know, sometimes you go to things with people

Chelsey Donn:

And they're so picky because they're such a diehard fan.

Chelsey Donn:

I think it's interesting to point that out.

Chelsey Donn:

Like even.

Trey Gerrald:

Right.

Trey Gerrald:

I'm not being like annoying here cause I'm a diehard and I'm never gonna be pleased.

Trey Gerrald:

Hector's saying like there's

Chelsey Donn:

Like even your average person that watched the show a couple

Chelsey Donn:

But if you're a fan, you're gonna be like offended and devastated.

Chelsey Donn:

I really like this review.

Trey Gerrald:

I like this review a lot too.

Trey Gerrald:

I do think it's truthful.

Trey Gerrald:

I don't even, it doesn't even really come off as shady.

Trey Gerrald:

Maybe like if we're getting into like a little bit of stereotyping about what an NRA member

Chelsey Donn:

I guess, but that's not even the point that Hector's making.

Chelsey Donn:

They're just saying that like, You're like, you could take the op like Trey

Chelsey Donn:

Right?

Chelsey Donn:

Like it's yet another opportunity to be branding towards what you're doing.

Chelsey Donn:

Even the check is an opportunity to be doing that.

Chelsey Donn:

So to not have like a golden girls pen or like, oh, I got the Sophia pen.

Chelsey Donn:

Like it could be a free giveaway or something like that.

Chelsey Donn:

Like to not use that opportunity to do it.

Chelsey Donn:

And to instead.

Chelsey Donn:

Do something that is completely not aligned with the show or the message of the show is crazy.

Chelsey Donn:

I think that's what they're saying.

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

And I do know from my friends, Instagram, where they're saying like one neon sign

Trey Gerrald:

Thank you.

Trey Gerrald:

Thanks for being a friend.

Trey Gerrald:

But even that is sort of like, oh, but you can just go online and have that

Trey Gerrald:

So sorry about that.

Chelsey Donn:

I mean, it feels very exploitative on behalf of the bucket listers or whatever,

Chelsey Donn:

And then in terms of everything else, as long as we have like something that the kids can take an

Trey Gerrald:

The

Trey Gerrald:

experience itself can be

Chelsey Donn:

the.

Chelsey Donn:

That's so gross.

Chelsey Donn:

It makes me not wanna go to any events that are thrown by this company.

Trey Gerrald:

I'm feeling an impact there as well.

Trey Gerrald:

I also wanted to point out how Hector says, like I was not expecting fine dining.

Trey Gerrald:

Like I'm not coming here actually for the kitchen part.

Trey Gerrald:

I'm coming here for the golden girls.

Trey Gerrald:

So like, it's like, I would anticipate this being like food, you would get at a concession

Chelsey Donn:

Sure.

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

I, I,

Chelsey Donn:

But you're not expecting the food to be great, but you are expecting the experience

Chelsey Donn:

You're not paying $50 for like high end dining.

Chelsey Donn:

Ugh.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm grossed out.

Trey Gerrald:

I think I could crown Hector, how do you feel.

Chelsey Donn:

I feel pretty good about Hector I'm I feel pretty good about Hector.

Chelsey Donn:

All right.

Chelsey Donn:

Let's.

Trey Gerrald:

All right.

Trey Gerrald:

So Chelsey and I each have our own set of zero to five crown cards and in an effort

VOICEOVER:

The Queens are Tabulating.

Chelsey Donn:

All right.

Chelsey Donn:

Trey is holding up four and a half crowns and I am holding up five crowns.

Chelsey Donn:

I went with a full Review Queen for Hector, but I'm interested first to hear

Trey Gerrald:

so I really side with Hector here.

Trey Gerrald:

I found them to be truthful and not really misleading or shady.

Trey Gerrald:

I bought the narrative.

Trey Gerrald:

The only reason I took a half crown away here is.

Trey Gerrald:

I'm I did want a little more details and I realized this right in the conclusion.

Trey Gerrald:

I was just saying before crowning is like, I wanted more details

Trey Gerrald:

I'm very clear that it's lazy decor.

Trey Gerrald:

Hector does a really great job of painting that this is probably a money grab more than anything

Trey Gerrald:

What the included things were rather than like all of the add-ons just for a more full rounded thing.

Trey Gerrald:

And I know that's very nitpicky.

Trey Gerrald:

I was very close to doing five, but Hector did a really good job exposing all of the deceit.

Trey Gerrald:

And I wanted to know a little bit more about what was so bad about the food.

Chelsey Donn:

The food itself.

Trey Gerrald:

since this is a 90 minute restaurant, like I, you

Trey Gerrald:

The experience that they didn't, they could have just done two more sentences

Trey Gerrald:

Why did you do five Review Queen for Hector?

Chelsey Donn:

Ah, I went with a full Review Queen for Hector, cuz I thought

Chelsey Donn:

It had good point of view.

Chelsey Donn:

I loved that Hector was on the ground as our like, you know, reporter.

Chelsey Donn:

It really gave me a level of, you know, trust.

Chelsey Donn:

With Hector that I think is worthy of being a Review Queen.

Chelsey Donn:

I, I laughed, there were definitely some laughs in there for me.

Chelsey Donn:

And I think they really got a lot of really great points across.

Chelsey Donn:

I do find it interesting that you took the half crown away for the reason that you did.

Chelsey Donn:

And I'm wondering if there, you know, I'm still going with a Review Queen, cuz I think

Chelsey Donn:

One, two things one before you do the event, like part of the ticketing

Trey Gerrald:

Like a wedding

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

So like you, you would know, like as soon as you got to the.

Chelsey Donn:

If you ride Hector's review and you were like, screw it.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm gonna go anyway.

Chelsey Donn:

You would still then go to the site and find out everything there immediately.

Chelsey Donn:

But a lot of negative reviews did also touch on which Hector did.

Chelsey Donn:

Not that like.

Chelsey Donn:

It was super lazy.

Chelsey Donn:

It was like, Sophia's lasagna.

Chelsey Donn:

You know what I mean?

Chelsey Donn:

Like it was like very lazy what they did with the food.

Chelsey Donn:

So I agree.

Chelsey Donn:

I think Hector, you know, could have brought that point to the table, but other than that,

Chelsey Donn:

And so I'm, I'm, I'm happy to crown Hector Review Queen.

Chelsey Donn:

And if you're listening, Hector, call in, we'll give you a, a beautiful gold Review Queen pen.

Trey Gerrald:

Woo.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

Congratulations, Hector.

Chelsey Donn:

See?

Trey Gerrald:

Well, I think the impact is that I would need to wait for a better

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

But, but don't you think you've been saved by Hector?

Trey Gerrald:

I probably wouldn't.

Trey Gerrald:

I

Chelsey Donn:

Like Hector's saying Trey.

Chelsey Donn:

I understand.

Chelsey Donn:

I was you.

Chelsey Donn:

I am you I'm here right now.

Trey Gerrald:

I'm here right now.

Trey Gerrald:

Yeah, exactly.

Chelsey Donn:

I'm Peter Trey.

Chelsey Donn:

Don't do it.

Chelsey Donn:

Donn.

Chelsey Donn:

Don't do it.

Trey Gerrald:

disaster.

Chelsey Donn:

It's a sad disaster from the inside.

Trey Gerrald:

Well, that was fun.

Trey Gerrald:

Thanks Chelsey.

Trey Gerrald:

Via Thomas.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah, thanks.

Chelsey Donn:

Thomas B for sliding into our DMS.

Chelsey Donn:

That is my favorite way to find reviews.

Chelsey Donn:

So like Thomas did, if you have just a subject matter a, uh, product, anything that you're like.

Chelsey Donn:

You Donn don't even wanna do the job yourself.

Chelsey Donn:

You're just like Review Queen.

Chelsey Donn:

Why Donn?

Chelsey Donn:

Don't you dig in there for me, slide into our DMS and let us know.

Chelsey Donn:

We're always looking for new things to explore.

Chelsey Donn:

So thank you so much, Thomas B for that great contribution.

Chelsey Donn:

And thank you Hector for being

Trey Gerrald:

Woo.

Chelsey Donn:

a Queen.

Chelsey Donn:

Woo.

Chelsey Donn:

All right.

Chelsey Donn:

We've reached the most reg portion of our show.

Chelsey Donn:

Trey, who are you inducting for?

VOICEOVER:

My Royal line.

Trey Gerrald:

All right.

Trey Gerrald:

Well, today I am going to induct on behalf of one of our listeners who

Trey Gerrald:

Suggested that we induct something that I am incredibly knowledgeable about

Chelsey Donn:

Which

Trey Gerrald:

as I pull up the Wikipedia over here, Steph has inducted the

Chelsey Donn:

Oh, yeah.

Chelsey Donn:

Cuz you know, we're very knowledgeable on all things sports here.

Trey Gerrald:

So, um, the Knicks, which is short for Nicker Bockers.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh, okay.

Trey Gerrald:

Which I don't know what a Knickerbocker is.

Trey Gerrald:

What's a

Chelsey Donn:

I Donn I Donn don't know.

Chelsey Donn:

Is it like a pan?

Chelsey Donn:

Is it pants?

Trey Gerrald:

Loose fitting trousers gathered at the knee.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh, maybe that's what they used to wear.

Trey Gerrald:

Okay.

Chelsey Donn:

maybe what basketball players used to wear.

Chelsey Donn:

Like Nicker blockers

Trey Gerrald:

So the, so Steph Steph is inducting the Knicks for, um, the Royal Highness.

Trey Gerrald:

And I'll share with you that it is an American professional basketball team in New York city.

Trey Gerrald:

They compete in the national basketball association as a member of the Atlantic

Trey Gerrald:

They play their home games at Madison square garden, an arena that they share with the

Trey Gerrald:

And, um, oh, this is interesting.

Trey Gerrald:

They are one of two NBA teams in the city of New York.

Trey Gerrald:

The other one is Chelsey.

Chelsey Donn:

The NATS.

Chelsey Donn:

Woo.

Trey Gerrald:

the Brooklyn nets.

Trey Gerrald:

And then also alongside the Boston Celtics, the nexts are one of two original

Chelsey Donn:

The best city in the world she says from

Trey Gerrald:

Because I do know this because I think my mother-in-law's a fan of the nets that

Trey Gerrald:

were

Chelsey Donn:

Jersey nets.

Chelsey Donn:

And now they're the Brooklyn nets.

Chelsey Donn:

I think it was

Trey Gerrald:

that's right.

Trey Gerrald:

So,

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah.

Trey Gerrald:

and, um, um, I'm not sure why we're inducting them.

Trey Gerrald:

I, I guess maybe they like made the playoff this year.

Trey Gerrald:

So congratulations to the nets.

Trey Gerrald:

I know I don't

Chelsey Donn:

not the nuts.

Trey Gerrald:

Or the Knicks, sorry, I'm actually not trying to be the stereotype.

Trey Gerrald:

I just, I really don't follow basketball and I'm sure that something wonderful has happened.

Trey Gerrald:

And even if it hasn't necessarily yet, I would on behalf of staff, I want to induct the New

Trey Gerrald:

mitzvah,

Chelsey Donn:

it.

Trey Gerrald:

even though he had zero interest

Chelsey Donn:

God.

Chelsey Donn:

That's amazing.

Chelsey Donn:

I love that.

Trey Gerrald:

But David's parents got a hookup with someone who was in

Trey Gerrald:

And so the Nick city dancers came and performed and David's bar Mitzva theme was Broadway

Trey Gerrald:

So he didn't care at all,

Chelsey Donn:

But the Knicks, you know, with Broadway,

Trey Gerrald:

But here we go.

Trey Gerrald:

Truthfully, I know that many people in the world get so much enjoyment out of being able to escape

Trey Gerrald:

And I'm sure that the Knicks have provided lots of fulfillment and enjoyment

Trey Gerrald:

Sporting events.

Trey Gerrald:

And so on behalf of staff, uh, I am inducting the New York city Nicks for my Royal Highness.

Chelsey Donn:

You did it, you got through it.

Chelsey Donn:

Trey.

Chelsey Donn:

You did it.

Chelsey Donn:

You're alive.

Chelsey Donn:

You're here.

Trey Gerrald:

Charles Oakley played for them.

Trey Gerrald:

Isn't he a commentator?

Chelsey Donn:

Um, I Donn know

Trey Gerrald:

we're gonna move on.

Trey Gerrald:

So, um, there we go.

Trey Gerrald:

Yes.

Trey Gerrald:

Well, that was really fun.

Trey Gerrald:

Thank you.

Trey Gerrald:

Thank you, Steph.

Trey Gerrald:

That actually, that was really fun to navigate.

Trey Gerrald:

So please, if you wanna induct something that you.

Trey Gerrald:

Sneaking suspicion that Chelsey and I will have no idea what it is.

Trey Gerrald:

Same with Kaza, let us down Shaza and you know, all of that controversy and conspiracy theory talk

Trey Gerrald:

So thank you, Steph.

Trey Gerrald:

Please slide into our DMS.

Trey Gerrald:

Please call in.

Trey Gerrald:

Just tell us what, what is deserving of five stars, certainly the next

Chelsey Donn:

they've gotten them.

Trey Gerrald:

I did literally print the Wikipedia.

Chelsey Donn:

I love it.

Trey Gerrald:

there you go.

Trey Gerrald:

So

Chelsey Donn:

You did good.

Chelsey Donn:

You did

Trey Gerrald:

you.

Trey Gerrald:

We did at Queen that is another round on the R and RQ pompom, Nicks go Nicks.

You could have said like connects, you know,

Trey Gerrald:

The connects.

Chelsey Donn:

the connects.

Trey Gerrald:

Why would you name a sports team after pants?

Chelsey Donn:

I mean, it was a really long time ago.

Chelsey Donn:

I don't think they had like that much fun stuff to name after.

Chelsey Donn:

I don't know, like the Philadelphia team was this 70 Sixers, which is like named after 1776.

Chelsey Donn:

I mean,

Trey Gerrald:

Right?

Chelsey Donn:

you know, there was not that much.

Chelsey Donn:

Uh,

Trey Gerrald:

What is the next mascot?

Trey Gerrald:

I wonder if that's in the Wikipedia.

Chelsey Donn:

oh.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh.

Chelsey Donn:

I Donn, Donn don't

Trey Gerrald:

I mean, their LogoVora looks like the carry the musical LogoVora

Trey Gerrald:

Nevermind.

Trey Gerrald:

it looks

Chelsey Donn:

all right.

Trey Gerrald:

the next is like a basketball.

Chelsey Donn:

Yeah, I was gonna say, I think it's like literally a basketball.

Trey Gerrald:

But

Chelsey Donn:

think they have one.

Trey Gerrald:

like

Chelsey Donn:

Oh, wait.

Chelsey Donn:

No, they do.

Chelsey Donn:

It looks like it's a dog, but that seems like that might be like newer.

Trey Gerrald:

LogoVora and uniforms.

Trey Gerrald:

Father Nicker blocker.

Chelsey Donn:

Oh, oh.

Chelsey Donn:

Was it named after somebody?

Chelsey Donn:

Not the pants.

Trey Gerrald:

No, the first LogoVora of the New York NEX.

Trey Gerrald:

Of a character named father Knickerbocker

Chelsey Donn:

Oh, I see it.

Chelsey Donn:

Father Nicker Bocker.

Chelsey Donn:

Hmm.

Trey Gerrald:

what about now?

Chelsey Donn:

Now it's a dog brought to you by chase

Trey Gerrald:

These corporations they're just everywhere.

Chelsey Donn:

yeah, I know.
