judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Welcome to the Fantasy Football Game Plan. We are on our last division. I'm very excited to have all these division breakdowns behind us, and it's almost time to kick off the regular season.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Yeah. In this episode we're going through our last division. We're answering the biggest NFC North questions, and we're gonna be going over whether or not Ben Johnson and Aaron Glynn uh, is now gonna provide a crack in Detroit's armor. Did the Packers finally find their go-to option? Are we actually buying into JJ McCarthy or is it just Kevin O'Connell? and lastly, and maybe the most fun one is are the bears cursed? And is Ben Johnson actually gonna be able to break that curse?

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

I think so. But we'll get to the Bears. We're gonna like keep you in suspense. They're gonna be last. So let's get it off and finish down these. Breakdowns. In our next episode that we're very excited about, we will be doing DFS. So stay tuned for that one. It'll come out later this week. Let's kick it off with the lions. Lions finished on top last year but they were really close with the Vikings anyhow. Uh, the lion here is 10 and a half. They finished 15 and two last season. 10 and a half. Are you, can we already just go over under.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

I think it's a fair line. 10 and a half is right my around my breaking point. But I think it does clue in what Vegas is already planning in a regression for this team and then maybe the fantasy markets quite haven't quite caught up.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Yeah, I am. I am. On that line as well. I like them right at 11. Maybe you can squeak out 12. They've got a brutal schedule, but let's go ahead and go into the changes. They lost both their offensive coordinator and their defensive coordinator. The offensive coordinator. Losing Ben Johnson to the Bears is huge for me. How do you feel about it?

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

They had the number one scoring offense last year and even the year before, they were a top five options. So we're gonna see if John Morgan can keep that progress going. I kind of have my doubts, but yeah, we're gonna be, I'm very high on Ben Johnson. We're gonna be talking 'em up a little bit later. And I really am looking at these coaches coaching changes and offensive line changes, and we have a lot of new faces for the lines here.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

We do this offensive coordinator definitely worries me. He's been around a long time in the NFL. He most recently came from the Broncos where he was the pass game coordinator. I don't think of the Broncos and passing, being their strength. So that kind of worries me and he's bounced around and not stood out for 20 years. And I'm usually down on guys like that. Um.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

The, uh. broncos, he was with the lines, which is why I think they brought him back in because he knows the system. He's very familiar with these players. And they have seemed that they just wanna stabilize and try to not lose ground on the offensive side.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Yeah. Um, I do love Dan Campbell and on a funny note, uh, I was listening to another podcast they were talking about, there is actually a website out there that analyzes all of the speaking that coaches do for accuracy. And Dan Campbell led and he tells it like it is, and if he says it on anything, whether it's. Injury, whether it's usage, whatever Dan Campbell says is the truth. He is like the highest rated coach in the NFL.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

I think that's why you see the players play so hard for him too. Like they know what they're getting. He's always honest with the media, with the players, and the guys love it. We know that this Bears team is going to play hard. It's just whether or not they're actually gonna step up to what they did last year.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Exactly. I think he'll have them motivated. But we'll have to see if John Morton can not mess anything up.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

If we are going from last year and just going off the bases, that they're gonna try to keep as much stable here as possible. This team diving into the personnel this team primarily runs three wide receiver sets at about four 54% of the time, so it is a big discussion on who that third wide receiver is gonna be for this team, whether Tim Patrick. Veteran wide receiver's gonna fill that role, or the rookie Isaac Tessla has shown enough through this preseason to get some snaps in that third wide receiver snap spot.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Yeah, Tesla has really stood out in preseason and I am interested to see if he's one of those that, you know, generated all the buzz and isn't going to have any impact. Or if he's actually going to step into that role, Tim Patrick could definitely do it as well.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Yeah, he, Tessla was a weird prospect and almost a name like most people weren't familiar with, of for draft day because he didn't do anything in college and he's a freak athlete, but that's a hard sell of having someone that couldn't do it at the level below that suddenly they can now translate to much stiffer competition. But he has looked good in preseason.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

So outside of the three wide receiver sets. How do you feel about Jamir Gibbs and David Montgomery and their usage, and is it going to change?

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Yeah, I think this is still gonna be a run first attack because that's how you set up golf for success. Golf really excels in being able to execute those, play action that ball fake and then make a very quick decision. But it has to be a run first and you have to have the defense respecting that run. and be prepared for Gibbs in Montgomery first. And the only thing is, maybe the bullish side for Jamir Gibbs is they blew out a lot of teams last year. So maybe if they're in more competitive games Gibbs does look to be the number one or the best option they have. So he might see some more playing time if they need him on those key downs.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Alright. How are you feeling about Jared Golf?

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

I dunno, I'm just down in general. I was kind of diving into his previous Statist um, for what do his years look like when he's not in the best situation. spent a lot of his career with either Sean McVay or Ben Johnson calling his plays. And so I look back through all the seasons. He only has two seasons where. McVay and Ben Johnson weren't calling his plays, but in those two years he was three and 17. The asterisk there is, it was his first year in both those systems. He was a rookie in one of those years, so not really that fair to golf, but still three and 17 compared to the 79 and 35 record. With those two calling in the plays, his uh, sack percentage too in those two years was 8.2%, so eight per 0.2% of drop backs he was getting sacked compared to his career average of 4.6. So we know the keys to make Jared Goff thrive and it's a good play caller and a great line.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Hopefully, uh, that continues and we see the lions do well. Uh, we already hit a little bit on it, but let's go into, the target share for this team

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Yeah,

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

it doesn't look like there's much change.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

there's not too much change. I've really just been giving Jamon Williams a bump because he has been the camp buzz of this guy looks so good. We have to find ways to get him the ball, and I think he's gonna be incorporated more than just a vertical option. And. Really, that's a promising news to hear too because if you think about a couple years ago, like he had a gambling issue and I think he took a couple years to really buy in to this Lions team and like being a blocker first, that's how you earn your snaps and earning your playing time. But now he is getting all the positive buzz. So I did give him a slight bump to be that clear one B to Almond Ross Saint Brown.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

I think that'll help Rah as well. So, uh, rah seemed to struggle just a little bit. I felt like last year he wasn't quite as good as I thought he was going to be, but I think the, that Jameson Williams stepping up a little bit will help Rah as well.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Yeah, and I don't really think will eat into the targets this year. I think he's more of a later down the road.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Yes, I agree. All right, so are we both on the, over here?

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

I'm gonna lean towards the under. I'm gonna say they get 10. I'm gonna take the

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

10. You're gonna go on the, all

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

avoiding the lines in general. I just, I don't think they can get back to being a top five offense yet again. I think those offensive line changes. I mean, We, they had an all pro center in his prime retire. And this team relies on that interior offensive line, and losing Ben Johnson I think is gonna hurt, but they're still a good team.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Sorry.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

All good.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

They are still a good team. Their schedule, like we said, is brutal. Three of their final four games in December are on the road. Least two of 'em are in a dome, LA Rams and the Minnesota Vikings, and then they get one home game. So they just have one outside in the cold in December. But still I still like them to win 11 or 12 games. I don't see 'em stepping back that much, Let's go ahead and jump into the next team. So we have the Green Bay Packers. 'cause if the Detroit Lions you've got at 10, then you've probably got somebody else winning this division.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Yeah, I can't say they're the pick for my division winner yet. But I do like the Packers I think they go over this nine and a half. I think they're a double digit win team. I don't think we've seen the best years from Jordan Love and Matt Lale in that combination yet.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

I don't either. Last year, Jordan Love went in with the curse of getting paid. I feel like anytime you get paid, then you just like have a down year and then you have to come back and prove yourself. So Jordan loves in that he is going so late in fantasy drafts. I'm often picking him up like round 10 as my quarterback, and it's kind of crazy.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

This is kind of a fun team to target. 'cause also thinking back to last year, the Eagles and the Packers started out in Brazil and on one of the last plays, Jordan Love hurt his knee. He was out for a couple games, but he was still banged up like throughout the season. And I think we're finally getting him healthy. He did have the thumb injury but he is already back to practice. He was playing in the joint practices with the Colts like a week after. So I don't think a major issue there.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Yeah, and it was surgery on his non throwing hand, so that always goes better. Um, so this. Team struggled with wide receivers and that's where they added players in the draft. They brought in, they've got two rookie wide receivers, but one Matthew Golden is particularly the one to talk about. Coaching. Changes. The coaching, and there were no coaching changes that's stable. And the team as a whole is fairly stable just. The wide receivers, which I feel is where they really struggled last year, staying healthy and keeping Jordan Love upright and healthy as well.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Yeah, it feels like the the off season mantra was, we gotta find the go-to option.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

we do,

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

was the first time they've taken a receiver in the first round since 2002.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

oh, I did not realize it had been that long.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

So this generation.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

That's incredible. What kind of personnel do they like to run and do they like those three wide receiver sets? Even though we're trying to identify the three wide receivers

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

yeah, I'll kind of blend this in with um, fantasy because this is the main

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

I.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

rationale of why Reid hasn't been that true number one option. They run 11 personnel about 67% of the time. that means about a third of their plays, they only have two wide receivers on the field and Reed hasn't been used in those plays, so he's consistently their slot wide receiver. And why is it called the slot wide receiver is because it's inside the two wide receivers. And so you're in that slot and Reid has only been used there. When we look at. Jayden Reed from a yards per route run basis. He's 15th in the entire league, right between Amman, Ross, St. Brown and Terry McLaurin. But he only plays like 70% of the snaps compared to them. 'cause he is not in these three wide receiver sets.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

That's interesting. It. We will get to Jaden Reed's target share and see if it's changing with Matthew Golden in a minute. But what else do they like to run and how do they like to use their, they like to use their running backs.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

They do. I mean they have Josh Jacobs as their true hammer. And I think it is kind of shifted when we look at the personnel data on how positive the rush rate was and how much they leaned into the rush because they did have multiple games without Jordan Love. Where they had Malik Willis filling in and they were almost entirely run based for those weeks. But still they want to use Jacobs, especially when they get in the red zone. He had so many touchdowns last year, especially in the back half. He went crazy. It might be a question of if anything were to happen to Jacobs, who is gonna be that number two option?

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Yeah, especially with Marshawn Lloyd being put on IR already. So he's out. Who's their, who's now number two? There?

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

we have seen Emmanuel Wilson step into that role before. Lloyd didn't hardly play his rookie year, and Wilson played and he's looked pretty good in the preseason, at least with his limited snaps. So I think he is kind locked in as the number two for this point, and really for the rest of the year. Marsha and Loin has not shown that he can consistently play on the field at all.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

He can't I am a little worried about Josh Jacobs staying healthy. He was healthy last season. I feel like we, we go back and forth. It's if you get, if you're healthy this year, you're not gonna be healthy next year.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Yeah,

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

and we may be in that situation here.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Josh Jacobs, especially if you go back through his season log, it's like a B, A B, A B, and we're due for a B year, unfortunately. But this team is gonna run the ball. So if anything were to happen to Jacobs, Emmanuel Wilson would be a must add.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

yeah, we did see Jacobs go crazy last year, so we'll have to keep our Emmanuel Wilson on speed dial and keep an eye on Marshawn Lloyd if he can come back from that hamstring injury. Let's go ahead and move into. Target share. The wide receivers just drove me crazy on this team last year and trying to use them for fantasy. Jordan Reed was terribly inconsistent. He ranged from zero to 33 fantasy points in PPR leagues. It's like, how can you, you know? Count on somebody that's doing that. If I toss out the zero, 'cause he only had one target that game and didn't even have a catch. Uh, his next one was 1.6 fantasy points. So there are multiple ones down there along with his multiple high ones, but it's kind of like feast or famine when you're putting Jaden Reed in your line.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Yeah, this has been, the target share has been what I've been adjusting the most with this team because early in the off season, I was very towards the Jaden Reed side, and I wanted to take as many shots as Jaden Reed as possible. I just thought if he could be used in those three wide receiver sets consistently, he'd have. Tremendous upside, like visually watching the games. I'm like, that's a great player. And I feel like he just hasn't had the opportunity. But I've been going more towards Matthew Golden, just from what I've heard and what I've seen from training camp. He is the person, they're talking up, he is the go-to and whoever one's high on. So, um, He's kind of the number two. And then I think the sneaky option is just, what if it's none of these wide receivers?

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Okay.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Craft?

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

I do like Tucker Craft or Luke Musgrave and maybe using 'em both. It could definitely, be either one of them. And I like, these are tight ends that I like. They were rarely healthy at the same time last year. We maybe had, what, one or two games where they were both healthy. So it's gonna be interesting to see if they, what they can do with these, both of these talented, tight ends. But I don't feel like I've got any clarity here in Green Bay for their wide receivers.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

I don't either, but I've been taking a bunch of them because I feel like this is gonna be a good team. And I really like Jordan Love because I think Jordan love's gonna benefit from all of these weapons no matter what. And then I've been stacking him with just adding one of the options and hoping that they become the guy.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

I feel like we saw a little bit of that last year, though. I had that hope last year, especially with Christian Watson and that maybe he was gonna stay healthy. He couldn't stay healthy and it felt, it always feels like they have a ton of weapons and just don't deliver. If that's true though, we ought to come back to average and this ought to be the year.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Yeah.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

So you're on the over. Oh, go ahead.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

on the over the one name we didn't really bring up much is other rookie Savion Williams, which I'm very interested. I haven't been taking him anywhere. He's more of a waiver wire name. If there's any injuries of the people. him. But he is really interesting to me because his comp was like Cordell Patterson. He lined up in the back field, he lined up as quarterback. He lined up everywhere on the field and I think with a creative play caller like LaFleur who knows where he is actually gonna line up and be used on Sundays. But he is a tremendous athlete and I think he could bring some explosive plays to the dolphins.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

So he might be somebody fun to watch, but we're not like sticking him on our fantasy team just yet. 'cause that may drive us crazy. And if Arthur Smith can figure out how to get his hands on him, if he's like Cordell Patterson, then he will. It'll be interesting to watch that. So you said you were on the, over the line is nine and a half. You're going for double digits here.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

I'm

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

I,

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

I've been going between 10 to 11. I'm gonna go 10.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

I'm at 10. I'll go over as well, but I am over on the Lions at 11, so I'm right at these lines. But just on the over let's move on to the Minnesota Vikings. Their line is eight and a half, which is quite a decrease after finishing 14 and three last season. Are you buying into JJ McCarthy being great and everyone is just loving him, or is this really just. Kevin O'Connell that everyone believes in.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

I think I'm buying into him being very good and an offense that I wanna attack. I don't think he's gonna be able to repeat the numbers that Darnell put up last year, but I think he's going to be much better than your typical second year quarterback.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Why?

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Just because, I'm gonna trust Kevin O'Connell at this point. We saw him get it done with Sam Darn, who people like thought would get cut, people thought would be out of the league after what they saw in the Jets and then Carolina. Um, And then he got it done

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

I did not.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

yeah, I mean, he was drafted, but what we saw last year was. A stark difference than anything else we'd seen the rest of his career.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

This is true, but I, I was actually kind of a Sam darn fan and I was not, I was surprised that they went 14 and three. I think everyone was surprised they were that good. But I was not surprised that Sam Darn had a good, good year. I can't buy into JJ McCarthy. And. Injuries are starting to be concerning on the rest of this team. We'll, we'll see. Uh, you know, I think they're going to have to ask JJ McCarthy to do things that are going to be outside of his comfort zone, especially after sitting out a whole year and not playing anywhere. He hasn't been hit in probably 18 months now. That's, you know, something that even. Experienced quarterbacks. That is something that is concerning. So now I have a rookie that is basically, that is doing that, I'm gonna call him a rookie 'cause he hasn't played, even though technically it was there last year. And I don't see that ending well, and I don't know that there's anything that Kevin O'Connell can do about that. He can't ask him to do less because he's gonna be in situations where he needs more.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Yeah, it might be a rougher start, especially when Addison is out for a suspension, but I think as soon as he comes back, you have a lot of talent. This might be the best skill group with Jefferson, Addison Hawkinson, that trio. And then I think you have a really good scheme. We saw, even when Kirk Cousins went down, we saw really good games that were fantasy relevant from Josh Dobbs and Nick Mullins. I am confident on the scheme. I will say that I think basically the entire fantasy community is confident on them. They aren't, you aren't getting a discount from getting an unknown quarterback in JJ McCarthy.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Yeah, I think you should be getting that discount, in my opinion. if things go right, what do they like to run?

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

It is mostly a spread attack with three wide receiver sets, but I think they're gonna lean little bit more into the run this year. And they've shown that with their off season moves, they brought in a couple of linemen from the Colts with fries and Kelly, and they even spent their first round pick drafting an interior offensive lineman for their other guard spot, and then they traded for Jordan Mason. All their off season moves have told us they wanna run a little bit more and maybe take a little bit off of JJ McCarthy's plate. So that's what I would expect. And then we'll probably see more of the 12 and 21 personnel early on when Addison is suspended and then start to shift back to the three wide receiver sets once they're all healthy.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Yeah. I do like the running back room. Aaron Jones and Jordan Mason, both talented, both struggle with injury, so hopefully one of those will always be health healthy and then they toss in Ty Chandler. He's always been, an adequate. Running back in, in a pinch, not necessarily for your fantasy team, but for this team. My concerns are Justin Jefferson and the health of Jefferson and his. Hamstring injury that is flaring up again. And I know they've kind of shut him down for preseason right now. He hasn't, he didn't do anything really, but previously, not last year, but the year before that he had a hamstring injury and I believe he missed seven games in 2023 with a, a hamstring injury. Same hamstring. I don't know, especially if that happens at the beginning of the season. If you lose both Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison, that what this team's gonna do. Then we're down to Jalen Nailor and the rookie.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Yeah, and even Ty Felden, the rookie sustained an injury too. So I don't think he's currently practicing. It really is gonna come down to Jefferson's Health. It was very promising that he returned to practice and ideally you're like, alright, it's preseason. They're hopefully just taking it slow. We know if he's out there on the field, he's one of the best wide receivers in the game. But, and then they also had Ronell Moore that they brought in just for depth and he's out for the season. So this wide receiver room got very shallow, very quick, and then a suspension on top of that. I would trust it a lot more if they brought in Thilan to just stabilize for those first four weeks. As of now, it's not looking not looking that

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Yeah, it hasn't. He's, yeah, Bryce Young's security blanket over there in Carolina and they don't wanna let him go. I do think that all this talk about wide receiver health is very good for TJ Hawkinson, and I do think that in conjunction with the running backs, that they're gonna be looking to hawkinson to provide an option as well. I guess we can move on to the target shares. How do you have Hawkinson going?

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Jefferson, it all starts there. He takes up a large chunk of the entire passing pie. And then I wanted to bump up Addison, but especially with that suspension, I have him

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Yeah.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

around 17% and then it is hawkinson, it's that clear number three option for this and number two option while Addison's gone. So I really like him to get off to a hot start. I think he's a fun option to take. And he's been slipping in drafts, so I do like him. And then I like the running back room for this team.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

I do have some nailer in my best ball leagues just for the beginning of the season. Could get 'em pretty late. Anything else on this team?

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

No, I think. What you mentioned that we're not getting the discount for the uncertainty is because thinking back to last year is everyone was like, oh no, it's Sam darn. And we were watching Jefferson slide and Addison slide and all of their, the team slide. And now we're just like, yeah, all right. They did it with Sam. Darn. And we've priced them back up. So Jefferson's a wide receiver, three hawkinson iss a tight end five and Addison's 43. Even with the three games we know he's missing.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

It. It's gonna be very interesting and the Vikings start the season on the road against the Bears. Bears, in my opinion, are the most interesting team to talk about in this division, and we're going there right after we decide. Are you over or under eight and a half for the Vikings?

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

I am gonna go just under, I'm gonna say they get to eight.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

That's gonna be a big drop over Sam. Darn. They should have kept Sam darn then.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Yeah, I think I'm not as high on this defense as others either, so I think it's, it's not gonna really compliment one another.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Yeah, I am on. I'm with you. I'm right at eight and on the under for the Vikings. I don't think things go quite right this year for the Vikings. Let's get to the Bears. Bears are also at eight and a half, and we will at the end, make the decision if we are on the over or under for that. Last year was five and 12. Um, Ben Johnson finds himself reunited with Deandre Swift. Not sure he's super excited about that. He's gotta be a little concerned. How do you feel about Ben Johnson?

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

I, I do think he's one of the best play callers in the game. And I think not only that, but I think he's gonna bring a level of professionalism to this team. One of my notes from last year of how I was feeling, I was looking back into 2024 previews, and one of my notes was like, give the Bears a year, because I hated that coaching staff. Shane Waldron. He, I mean, he. Like Ruin the Seahawks for the year and then the Bears brought him in and that was a joke. And then their coach, I'm blanking on his name right now, but we saw like the Hail Mary play against the commanders. We saw

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Yeah.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

a timeout on the Thanksgiving game.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Yeah. That was. It was a mess. It was definitely a mess. I'm excited for Caleb Williams to get Ben Johnson. I think this is exactly what he needs. Unfortunately, he didn't have him last year, but they still came away with five wins. So if Ben Johnson can work his magic here with Caleb Williams, it's going to be great. Are we, we, so we have Deandre Swift, we have Han Johnson, and then they've got a rookie, what do they like to run or what does Ben Johnson like to run? And, you know, we're going off of the lions, so obviously we're thinking Jamir Gibbs and, and Montgomery. But I feel like Ben Johnson already told us that Deandre Swift is not either one of them. So how's this gonna play out and what, what's he gonna wanna run here?

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Yeah, so comparing the Bears last year to the Lions the bears were in 11 personnel. 71% of the time, that drops down to 54%. Of the lines. The lines were much more of, we're gonna establish the run, bring in extra blockers, bring in extra tight in and make sure that teams respect Montgomery and Gibbs. That being said, Ben Johnson knows he doesn't have that same running back room, and I'm gonna give him enough credit to say that he's gonna kind of shape his packages to who he does have. And what this team really excels at is their wide receiver room. They took Oze, in the top 10 last year, they paid DJ more and then they have some really good complimentary options with Luther Bur Burton as a rookie and even Zacchaeus from Commanders like showed some Burch last year with Jayden Daniels. So they have a really deep, wide receiver room. I think this team is gonna be right in the middle between what we saw of the bears and the lines probably around that, like 65% for three wide receiver sets.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Yeah, the three wide receivers and then they did bring in an extra tight end. So I feel like we've all just kind of discounted Cole commit. Who actually had a decent year last year when he was healthy too. But then they brought in Colston, Loveland, the rookie. And there's been lots of buzz about Loveland, but I feel like we all just forgot ment. What is Loveland good at? Is he a blocker? Is he a passing back? What can we expect from this tight end?

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Lovelin is almost entirely a passing back. He's kind of struggled in the running game, but he was Michigan's number one target for their offense. He actually accounted for 30% of Michigan's offense passing offense last year. So he was the clear number one on that team. But I do think we're gonna see more commit than people think. T's just a really good player in his own right and he's also. This team is heavily invested in him. He's one of the highest paid tight ends still in the league. I think you're gonna have a lot of moments where Caleb throw a touchdown and are cheering for your loved one pick and then realize that it's, so I think we are gonna see 12 packages of them mixed in, but expecting Lovelin to get off to a slower start than like fellow rookie Tyler Warren.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

I am too. And he's coming off of shoulder surgery that everyone's just kind of discounted and it was a grade five dislocation. So that surgery is not an easy one to just come back from. And his range of motion is probably gonna be a little limited.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Yeah and we always see the line or tight ends are notorious for having slower starts. So

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Yeah.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

do it this year, remember it going into next off season that he is still probably a great player. Probably is just gonna take a little bit of time for him to carve out his role.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

I think I'll like 'em a lot better next year. Let's go over the whole target share here, since we have been all over these wide receivers. And I, I do feel like they have a really great set of wide receivers in Chicago.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Yeah, this is one of my. Biggest bets is on Romo. Dunay. I think he, I, him and DJ Moore will basically be neck and neck. As far as who the number one option is, I think Oze actually is gonna see a higher snap count. But DJ Moore is gonna be used in those very creative packages, probably from the backfield sometimes. getting involved in the screen game, and just a little. More concern with DJ Moore later in the year that I think Luther Burden might start to get on the field more and more while Romo Dunes is gonna be locked in as that X wide receiver.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

I totally agree with that. I really like Romo. And I've been taking him in leagues 'cause he seems to be at a discount. I don't know if people are just on DJ Moore, if they're just off of the whole Bears offense in general. But I do really like this team and I do believe in Ben Johnson. And that's what it comes down to a lot of times for me is do I believe in the coach and can that coach figure out how to get things done? I also, on the Vikings, I believe in their coach too. I just. Feel like they've got too much going on and too many injuries to deal with that this team doesn't have.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Yeah, I think the Bears got the largest upgrades on offensive line. We saw them get some of the priority ads. We saw them add Joe Tooney from the Chiefs. We also saw them add Drew Dalman to this roster as well. And Jonah Jackson, who was a longtime Lions. So I'm excited for. This offensive line being better and bringing that rate down for Caleb and giving him a little bit more time to throw. It just looked like a mess last year. And

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Okay.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

I kind of dug deep into the quarterback, taken in all of these drafts for the past decade. 'cause typically the first quarterback taken, they carry a lot of expectations, but they're drafted to such a bad situation. It takes a couple years for them to actually show that talent. Normally when a quarterback is taken the first spot in the draft or the first quarterback taken in the draft they average less than four wins, less than 215 yards per game, and only a 3% touchdown rate. And year two, that jumps to over eight wins. Over 230 yards per game and about a 4.6 touchdown rate. If we see that growth, that normal growth in Caleb Williams, then that would put him over touchdowns this season. I'm excited, and that's without the offense of line and the coaching changes. So I'm really excited for what the Bears team can do.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

I am excited too. I think that's what's gonna happen. I'm on the over for the eight and a half. Where are you?

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

I am on the over. How are you gonna line up teams, these teams For this division? This is the best division I think in football. And the most competitive

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Uh, the most competitive. I don't know that this is the best division,

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

between this one,

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

we can,

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

neck.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

love the A f, C West. But this one is definitely competitive. Uh, I'm gonna go, let's see. This one's hard. Lions packers, bears, Vikings.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

I'm gonna go Bears do the fourth place to first. There's always a couple of them. And then Packers, lines, Vikings.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

Wow. Bears to first in the division. There's, there's, There's the, the call.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

there's the.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

do you have money on that one? I.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

I think I have a little bit. Yeah.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

divisions.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:

you've at least got the over on the bears.

q_1_08-26-2025_171552:

I do.

judy_1_08-26-2025_171552:
