Hey everybody, this is Dave Matthews with Dave Matthews Tennis Academy and Buford City

Tip for the day.

If you are asking the question of when do I hit a drop shot, here are two things that

I look for.

Number one, when you're getting a shot on your opponent and you're at the baseline and

you know, maybe you make it, you miss it, you look up.

If you, once you finish the shot, the one thing I really get on the map later is about

more than anything is dropping the head like they made the worst mistake of their life

and they could have made a mistake.

But you need to look up and see where your opponent was when you went to hit that aggressive

shot.

If they are really deep in the court, they're back and they're trying to try it down

on your ball by some more time.

All you need to do is hit a short ball, not even a great drop shot.

Just a short ball.

All of a sudden gets them up toward the baseline, makes your deep ball now.

It doesn't have to be great.

Just be solid and it will be a great shot on its own because of the lack of time they

have to run it down.
