We are the podcast that is dedicated to reviewing reviews.

That is Chelsey Donn.

And that is Trey Gerald.

But us together, we are the Review Queens.

But first, Chelsey, I must ask, is there anything

that you need to lodge a complaint?

About today?

CHELSEY DONN: Yes, Trey.

I'm so happy that you asked.

I don't think we've spoken about this yet on the podcast.

We might have spoken about this off the show, God forbid,

but did we talk about the Black Tongue Saga of 2024?

I don't think we did.

Okay.

So let's call it a month ago at this point.

I woke up, was running late to

work, go brush my teeth, getting

ready to go out the door, and I just go for a last minute

like smile in the mirror, just gonna check the teeth, and

my teeth look like they're rotting.

Oh no, George Washington.

Like George Washington, like Encino Man,

like she just, I, I like, just something, I don't

Terribly wrong had happened to my teeth and I was

like just brushing, okay, so it's not like I was like

neglecting brushing, like no, no, no, I have an electric

toothbrush, I was like in there doing my thing, swishing

around, put even a little mouthwash in, swish with that,

then like did just last minute glance

and I'm George Washington, okay.

So I start, of course, like, freaking out.

I'm like, I know I haven't gotten to cleaning in a while,

but like, this doesn't seem right, and I'm just like,

fervently brushing, brushing, brushing,

brushing, brushing, brushing, brushing.

I finally, like, get it to come off the teeth.

It's not, like, completely off the teeth, but it's,

it's mostly off the teeth, and then I glance at my tongue

in the mirror, and it's black,

okay?

It's black.

Not like, oh, it's a little bit dark,

like, as if I sucked on a sharpie, okay?

Like, my tongue is black.

So now I go from thinking, oh my god, like, there's

something wrong with my teeth, to like, I'm actually dying.

It's actively happening.

TREY GERRALD: Tuberculosis.

This is

like, Whatever, like my tongue cells are

the first to die and they're dead and I'm this is surely

how I die And so I like freak out my dad's a dentist to

call my dad on the phone I'm telling him like I'm dying

like I mouthwash my peroxide a tongue scrape like I got

some of it off Like it was coming off, but also like it's

still there and he starts asking

me like Did I do anything weird?

I'm like, not really, I swallowed a pill.

And then I start realizing, oh, last night I had like a

stomach ache and I took Pepto Bismol.

So

TREY GERRALD: I decide, Yes.

CHELSEY DONN: Google, I actually texted Trey too in

real time, but I decided to Google

like side effects of Pepto Bismol.

And one of the side effects is

this black tongue and black teeth.

And there's a ton of people and there's TikToks out there.

There's whole things dedicated to the

fact that this can happen to you.

If you take Pepto Bismol at night and fall asleep, you

can wake up with like a black tongue and brown teeth.

And thankfully it did go away.

As the day went on, like, it went away, I drank a

lot of water, like, it was fine, but

this should be more widely known.

This, this is not okay.

This should be something that is, like, on the box

in big letters, like you get a pack of cigarettes and

you got a warning on the side.

This needs to be front and center that this is

something that can even happen.

Crazy.

But thankfully, I'm still alive and here I am.

Wow.

What a saga,

right?

I just had to share.

So the side effect of getting black tongue

and teeth from a tummy ache medicine,

right?

TREY GERRALD: I mean, I do

feel like, and I remember we did read a review

about this and I think that it was in there somewhere.

It was the Pepto

TREY GERRALD: Bismol Chews.

So I just assumed it was the Chews, which is

CHELSEY DONN: what I did.

I took the

Chews.

I took the Chews.

I took the

Chews.

And I think in the review, I have to go back and look

through it, I can't believe I haven't yet, but in the

review I think it was like, I always prided myself on

having very white teeth, like I was like anal about

it, which I am, And like my teeth have never been the same.

I don't know if my teeth ever fully recovered, like to

their, I mean, they still look white,

but to their like pearly white status.

TREY GERRALD: Well, now you have that visual

that you probably can never get out of your mind.

So you're always like,

CHELSEY DONN: afraid.

Yes.

TREY GERRALD: That's a trauma to like, be almost

out the door and you're like, what?

CHELSEY DONN: Literally, last

minute check, like last, last luck.

TREY GERRALD: That's real scary.

I'm sorry that that happened to you.

I'm glad you were able to find the culprit and now

you can launch that complaint and save us all.

So, how'd you get rid of it?

It did just go, like, I just drank a

lot of water and, like, yeah, which,

you know, is a big feat for me.

Um, I just, like, flushed it out of my system, I guess.

And then, eventually, because I had done so

much brushing and tongue scraping and peroxide mouthwash

and, like, literally everything that I could possibly

do, it did eventually go away.

But, like, yeah, maybe it is just the visual in my

head that I can't, but it feels like my teeth Never

really returned back to their full whiteness and I

did buy the shoes on Amazon Because I've used those

shoes previously not on Amazon

and did not have the side effect.

So I don't know.

TREY GERRALD: That's curious

CHELSEY DONN: Yeah, right?

So that's what I had to complain about today.

I've been holding that one for you guys, but I feel

like it's a public service announcement that I just have

to give to you, because if you're

in this situation, you're not alone.

of all, let me share with you, today, I'm gonna

maybe introduce to you, maybe you already follow on

TikTok, this is a user named Honestly Bridget, which,

already obsessed with the name,

love, My mom had a dog named Bridget.

I just remembered.

Maybe that's why I love Bridget so much.

Okay.

So honestly, Bridget on TikTok, they, uh, at the time

of this recording, we have 394.

1 thousand followers.

Wow.

8 million likes.

But what's really fun, uh, Is that Bridget just

basically like finds random things on the internet and then

just like unboxes and reviews and they have tons of

playlists like like hilarious Halloween costume has like

17 videos, 30 days of weird Timu products, which you

12 posts, 30 days of Timu food products, like just tons of

CHELSEY DONN: products from Timu, I didn't know they

could get food products from Timu,

so they have tons of random like

playlists, so you can just go

down this rabbit hole, they're

I found one that was very funny, and then I found another one,

so maybe we'll come back to Bridget, who knows, maybe

we'll have Bridget on the show, but today, Chelsey,

today you and I are going to rate and review Honestly

Amazon Dog Wigs.

Oh,

wow.

Now I am someone who knows a lot

CHELSEY DONN: about dog wigs,

TREY GERRALD: about dog wigs.

Yeah.

We will insert some pictures here, but

I have handmade, I have hand sewn elastic onto

wigs, I have hand dyed, I have hand styled, and I've

also purchased from Amazon.

Dog wigs.

Dog wigs.

So I feel like I am kind of an authority on this topic.

Yes.

I mean, Winnie really donned

a lot of wing, a lot of wigs.

When he really has,

when he wears a wig, at least, like I would

say bi-annually at minimum, if not annually,

but this is, but this is a first for us

because this is a 10 star rating, and,

CHELSEY DONN: but it's also 1000 out of 10.

TREY GERRALD: Correct.

So many firsts.

CHELSEY DONN: Many, many firsts.

TREY GERRALD: All right.

So we're going to watch this Tik Tok together.

Okay.

I'm spending 30 days testing 30

of the weirdest products from Timu.

I was way too excited about this one that I

didn't even film the unboxing.

I got my dog four different wigs.

I put the first one on and freaked out.

CHELSEY DONN: Oh my God.

VOICEOVER: You're kidding me right now.

And immediately decided that this

is what I needed to do with this video.

Oh my god, stop.

Don't walk away.

Aww.

So cute.

He's like a little shudder.

The ponytail.

I'll wait for you, dear,

through all of your tears.

Oh my god.

In case it wasn't obvious, thousand out of ten, buy

this for all of your pets.

Oh my,

CHELSEY DONN: oh, that was really cute.

Interesting.

Okay, we didn't really have, I was

expecting to hear more of a review.

TREY GERRALD: I know.

But I'm having like sort of mental gymnastics

in my head right now because I'm thinking.

Do I really need it?

Because clearly I'm seeing it look fabulous on the dog.

So like, what more could have been said?

It's kind of like show, don't tell,

right?

Yeah.

I mean, this is what occurs when it's TikTok because

they tend to just be a little less

descriptive because you're seeing it.

Yeah.

So I think for the listeners, for someone who's

listening to this and not watching this, Trey, can

you describe a little bit of what we're seeing?

Yeah, so very quickly, honestly, Bridget

shows they've purchased four wags for the dog,

and they're all like 348, 397.

So it's just this Cute little fluffy, like what

kind of dog would you say that was?

Some sort of like a terrier, Maltese.

Like something Maltese.

Yeah,

TREY GERRALD: wearing like

a little like white wig.

Then we have like a long pink curly wig.

Then we have a little bob and we have a brown.

And they just turned them into Ken from the Barbie movie.

So they're like cooking on the

stove, bananas on a skillet.

And then they're like.

Whole bananas in the

peel.

TREY GERRALD: Sitting on the toilet with dude

wipes, then they're like driving by a little car, um,

and then they have little captions that

are like, please don't buy this.

Like the teddy the little dog is saying.

CHELSEY DONN: It's like, please stop torturing me.

I mean, it did look like high quality wigs.

I mean, I was most

taken by like how calm the dog is.

Like the dog is not trying to take these off.

It seems like it's, I don't like, I

couldn't really see it, but it seemed like it

was like you stick it over the head and then there's

like a chin strap, jaw string maybe?

Yeah.

That gets it to stay

into place, but it must not be.

It must be like elastic or it must not be super

uncomfortable or this is just a very well behaved dog

because I think I would be attacked.

I know, I think the dog is just used

to being on social media at this point.

I'm used to

being like messed with, with clothes, like

Bella was like totally good with me putting clothes

on her, was the best about it.

This one

is a different story.

Um, interesting review.

I, I, like, I don't think I, I'm, let's go

through the talking points, I guess.

I mean, I don't really know how we do that.

In this medium, but I guess we can try.

Well, it's like, it's similar to J Shock

because you see the product in action.

So I, as someone who has purchased dog wigs and has dealt

with dog wigs, the problem with these 3 ones is that they're

cheap and they're like, they don't

have a shape because they're like flat.

And then as you put the bungee cord around the neck, it

sort of like forms like a round shape.

But, but they're like, cheap wickies, you know, right, you

sort of like, can't get away with like, cheap, hot pink

fluorescent wig, so it's cheap, but it's funny and serves the

point for the dog, like the value here

is that at least this dog is chill.

I don't know how chill my dogs would be, right?

It's like staying on is the thing.

Even though like the dog isn't trying to get it off,

that doesn't matter because sometimes the wig will just

like slide and go upside down and it's like a beard

or like it just literally falls off.

These all tend to sort of stay and I mean, I think the

proof is in the pudding in a way.

Like you're doing it to be funny.

Right.

It is funny.

Funny.

Right.

I think that it's interesting because I think the way that

we assess Truthful Shady on something like this is how

much editing went into this, right?

Like, you know, when people have those trick shot videos

on TikTok, it's like, well, did you

take, did you try to get the basket in?

five million times and then you only got it in once

because then it's less impressive than obviously getting

in on the first first time so i do wonder like how much

prodding it took to get this video together like is

this really going to be my experience where it's going

to be like blowing in the wind and so beautiful out of

the box or like did you very much like judge this up and

like had a grip in the corner i don't know i don't think

it was that high production value but It was really

good, like it was a very well produced video, so I don't

know how realistic it is, I guess.

Well,

TREY GERRALD: that's a trend with, honestly, Bridget,

because even at the top of this video, they have a little

montage of, like, the 30 Days of Weird Teemu products.

Right.

They've edited together a montage, then they do pop in,

like, the various, you know, Products at the top and then

there's like eight different setups.

It's like there's one.

I didn't even like the dog is licking out of a shot glass.

Like,

yeah,

TREY GERRALD: they like went

around there in the backyard.

They're in the kitchen.

They're in the laundry room.

They're outside with sticks.

Like there is a lot of effort going into the creation,

right?

Which is that even if the truthful shady or the

common factor is in question.

Obviously, where we're gaining back a tremendous

amount of points is in the humor and

the entertainment column.

And I do, like, I think

that that's probably common fluky.

I mean, it's not fluky, it's common, like, what other

reason are you buying a dog wig?

But to, like, have people be entertained

and smiling and hilarious.

CHELSEY DONN: Totally.

Agreed.

So I feel like it's impactful.

TREY GERRALD: Would you purchase

these wigs based on this review?

Even if it wasn't for your dog?

Yeah, I think I would.

Like if I needed a dog costume or something like

you do, and I was thinking about buying a wig.

TREY GERRALD: Um, no.

I

CHELSEY DONN: guess I just have

to go on Timu and look for this wig.

I mean, it's a little bit of extra

effort to do that, but I think I would.

I mean, I would want to have a wig that I know is going to

be Like functioning, especially coming from someone like

you who knows that it's not always that way.

TREY GERRALD: Correct.

And like, as a little tip here, if you want to

have a dog wig, you can just buy doll replacement wigs.

Oh, smart.

The circumference of the circumference of your dog, because

you can do like an American Girl doll, or you can

do like a Barbie doll wig, or you can do, Oh, genius.

And they're much cheaper.

Wow.

Tongue tied.

That was a good tip.

I like that tip.

Okay.

I gotta say, I think that this is the first product ever

on Timu that was given a 10, 000 out of 10 out of 10.

I think that's an understatement.

That's

like a fair assessment.

I think it's

TREY GERRALD: very fair.

I don't know that there's ever It's

been a product on T Mail that has succeeded as much

as this wig is, is claiming to, these multiple wigs are,

are, are claiming to, to hold.

I mean, that's a lot of stars.

For one Timu product.

But then in reality here, like how much

of this is meant to be entertaining versus how much is

an actual review of the product?

I, I think mostly entertaining,

but even, even I'm tickled and entertained by

the 10, 000 out of 10 on Timu.

And you can pause it.

It's like, I think it's like second, at second, nine

seconds, you can see all of the

products that they actually purchased.

So, if you were like, oh, I love that pink wig,

it's perfect for my Raggedy Ann or whatever, you could,

you know, copy paste it, whatever.

These wigs are

CHELSEY DONN: hilarious.

TREY GERRALD: They're for cats, too.

I mean, I think I could, I think I can crown,

honestly, Bridget, how do you feel?

What more can I ask for from a review as someone that spends

their life perousing reviews, perousing?

getting aroused by good reviews.

I mean, I think that this is a winner.

You knocked it out of the park.

You put a lot of time and effort.

If anyone understands and appreciates that

time and effort, it's Trey and I.

have seen how they were packaged, how fluffy they were.

Like what the apparatuses were on each other.

Like, I think that was the missing component, but

I get being so overly excited.

I mean, I make my Halloween costumes like months in

advance and I have to sit on the excitement.

So I get it.

And that is so exciting.

And I can't believe I haven't done it sooner, but I would

they really took a long time to do

Yeah, I guess you did have to, you couldn't

use a mechanical pencil on Scantron.

That was the

whole thing, on a Scantron you could not use a

mechanical pencil, but now you can.

I would like have to try it out on
