Monday through Friday Winter weather advisories expand across the Mid Atlantic tonight into Thursday morning with the National Weather Service calling for light snow and slick travel from southeast Virginia into into northeast North Carolina.

Marine small craft advisories also line the lower Chesapeake farther north.

Black ice concerns linger early today around Long island and southern Connecticut after refreeze out west.

USGS continues to log small quakes around San Ramon Dublin in California.

Minor, but a reminder to secure homes and check plans.

Alaska's coastal waters face brisk winds and blowing snow today into Thursday per the Anchorage and Fairbanks offices.

Let's run through the states.

Alaska Brisk wind advisories and small craft advisories continue across portions of Bristol Bay, the Alaska Peninsula and the northern Gulf.

Fairbanks Highlights blowing snow, reducing visibility to one nautical mile or less at times for northwest coastal waters.

California USGS records additional small quakes overnight in the San Ramon Dublin area, including magnitude 1.7 events just after 4:22pm PST Tuesday and 9:37pm consistent with this week's ongoing swarm.

No damage reported.

Connecticut NWS New York warns of patchy black ice this morning across southern Connecticut due to overnight refreeze on untreated surfaces.

Georgia Patchy dense fog early this morning across parts of North Georgia reduces visibility below a half mile.

Conditions improve after 10am Kansas Goodland issues a hazardous weather outlook, noting winter weather advisory potential in the short term period.

Residents along the Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska border region should watch for slick spots and check updates today.

North Carolina Winter weather advisories take effect this evening for parts of eastern and northeastern North Carolina including Martin, Pitt, Washington, Green, Beaufort, Duplin, Lenoir plus Berdie Gates, Hertford, Northampton Just across the VA line, NWS Raleigh's briefing highlights mainly light snow or glaze of ice with hazardous travel possible Thursday morning black ice risk where temps fall into the 20s overnight.

South Dakota Sioux Falls Highlights light wintry nuisances in a special weather statement early today.

Watch for brief slick spots and variable visibility with any passing snow showers.

Virginia Winter weather advisories run 6pm to 4am for Hampton, Poquasson and Newport News and 6pm to 7am across parts of southeast Virginia and far northeast North Carolina with up to one inch of snow, brief sleet and slippery roads.

Wakefield also notes SCAs on Lower Bay and coastal waters tonight Thursday.

All other states have no significant updates in the last 24 hours.
